Output mismatch between BEx query output and WebI Report output

Hi All,
I have a BEx query in which there are only characteristics placed in rows.
There are combinations of the values of the characteristics giving different records in the query output.
Date is one of the characterisctics in the query output.
There is an output mismatch between the query output and the WebI report output in the following case:
When there are 'Not Assigned' or '#' or blank values, there are additional entries(rows) in the WebI report, giving repeating or wrong entries in the Date field. This is incorrect data.
Is this because of the 'Not Assigned' or '#' or blank values of the Characteristics or is there any other reason?
How do I fix this?

Hi Rajesh,
I need to verify the WebI report output for records with # and 'Not assigned' values for the cHracteristics in the report.
So I cannot check the WebI report by hiding the # or Not assigned values.
The problem is that in the Query output the records are like these shown below:

Where as the WebI report output is as below:

As shown here, there are wrong/repeating entries for the Date field in the WebI report output.
Please check this and let me know what could be the issue and how do I fix it.

Issues with Bex query structures and Crystal Reports/Webi

Hi experts,
I'm having an issue with Bex Query structures and nulls. I've built a Crystal Report against a Bex query that uses a Bex Query structure. The structure looks like the following
Budget $
Budget %
Actual $
Actual %
Budget YTD
etc
if I drag the structure into the Crystal Report detail section with a key figure it displays like this
Budget $     <null>
Budget %     <null>
Actual $     300
Actual %     85
Budget YTD     250
the null values are displayed (and this is what is required). However if I filter using a Record selection or group on a profit centre then the nulls along with the associated structure component are not displayed.
Actual $     300
Actual %     85
Budget YTD     250
Webi is also behaving similarly. Can anyone explain why the above is happening and suggest a solution either on the Bex side of things or on the Crystal Reports side of things? I'm confused as to why nulls are displayed in the first example and not the second.

Hi,
Crystal Reports and Web Intelligence will only show data which is in the cube. You could have an actual 0 or Null entry whithout grouping but by changing the selection / grouping in the report the data does not include such entry anymore.

How to print sap bex query varaibles in webi report

Dear Friends,
I created a webi Report on universe ( Based on SAP BW Bex Query with variables).
its working fine. Now i want to show the selected variable values on the top of my webi report.
How can i access and print my bex query variables on header of my webi report.
We are using BOE 3.1 SP2, SAP BI 7.02.

That is default behavior of BO. The integration mapping from BI to BO will populates like that, COZ you made BI variable on top of Date dimension, which needs From and TO fields.
To display that info, what user has selected on the fly:
As suggested, use UserResponse() function.
keep in mind, prompt text and userresponse text must be identical. Otherwise, it wont't work.
Eg: prompt Text: Enetr From Date:
Var: =UserResponse(Enter From Date:) -->> Results: (Blank)
Why?? Prompt text Enetr not Enter

Document integration for Bex reports and web reports

Hi,
I would like to attach few documentaion (like business usage of the report) for all existing reports in BW system. We are delivering all reports through Bex reports and Web reports.
Report user should be able to see attached documentation through "Document" property in Web report.
I have followed this way but not able to get on-line documentation for queries.
1. RSA1--> Documents >Meta Data> selected Object type ELEM> Import document> attached word document.
2. I enabled Documents property in Query designer.
3. When I executed this query in Bex, I could see document symbol for all characteristics & Key figures in all cell (in default view)
4. The same result with Web report (all cells are having document symbol).
But I dont want to display documents in defaul view, if any user wanted to have doucment info, then should click on "document" tab and should be able to down load / read on line.
Let me know why I am getting document symbol for all key / char, even though i selected "ELEM". I know we could direclty import documents in query designer, what is the difference..

Dynamic filtering with BEx query variables in WebI 3.1

Hi experts.
Can anybody help me ?
1) I use BEx query variables in WebI 3.1 . But i can't understand how to order fields of selection screen in WebI reports
2) How can i use Dynamic filtering with BEx query variables in WebI 3.1 ?
It's need that list of second field on selection screen will be accoding to result of selection first field on selection screen and so on .
Need i use BEx user-exit variables ?

1) Variable sequence isn't respected in XI3.1 - and can't be modified in OLAP.unv (this enhancement exists in 4.0 )
2) Dynamic filtering? Yes, Exit routines are the best way to go for this.

Fatal error C1900: Il mismatch between 'P1' version '20080116' and 'P2' version '20070207'

Hi all,
I have a Team Foundation Build Agent that has Visual Studio Team System 2008 Test Edition installed. One of the solutions that I compile with that Build Agent gives me the following errors:
VCBUILD : fatal error C1047: The object or library file '.\bin\Release\main.obj' was created with an older compiler than other objects; rebuild old objects and libraries
LINK : fatal error LNK1257: code generation failed
VCBUILD : fatal error C1900: Il mismatch between 'P1' version '20080116' and 'P2' version '20070207'
LINK : fatal error LNK1257: code generation failed
I've searched online and found that other people have experienced the same problem:

In the second posting one states "I had the same Error! After installing Service Pack1 for VS2008 it worked!". Thats great for him but I don't see any such update for the Test Edition of Visual Studio Team System 2008 - Test Edition.

I once handled a similar case in newsgroups. That case exhibit a almost same symptom. Please check out my summary below:
Problem
In that case, the customer has a DLL project that you had built on a machine where VS 2008 SP1 was installed. You then attempted to rebuild that project on a machine without SP1, and got a fatal compiler error C1900 “IL mismatch between ‘P1’ version ‘20080116’ and ‘P2’ version ‘20070207’”, and then LNK1257 “Code generation failed”. He found that rebuilding your static library alleviated the errors, but cannot accept this as a workaround because your clients will not have the ability to rebuild the libraries you distribute before they use them.
Cause
You had built the static library with the /GL (Whole Program Optimization) compiler switch, which requires Link Time Code Generation (/LTCG) when the static library is subsequently linked. These features require that all linked modules be built by the same version of the compiler. In fact, if precompiled headers are used, the same machine must build and link all the involved object code. Therefore, it is highly recommended that static libraries not be built with the /GL switch, since their intended use is quite frequently to support reuse by others.
Solution
You rebuilt the static library on your VS2008 SP1 machine without the /GL switch, and you no longer encounter this problem.

Company code restriction for dashboard and webi reports in BOBJ

Hi Friends,
We have a requirment where we need to restrict user on company code level in bobj.
we have some dashborads and webi reports which need to be restricted at company code level, hence i have created a role in BI and restricted the queries (bex queries) on company code level and same role and user i have imported in BOBJ.
Now i can see the role and user in BOBJ and also i can login to BILAUNCH PAD with authentication as SAP But unable to run the webi reports and dashboard hence i have added those reports to this user in bobj and now i can run the reports, but restriction is not working.
In BI I am able to restrict user but in bobj its not restricting. kindly let me know if i am missing anything?
We are having BO 4.0 SP6.

In BI its wokring perfectly fine.
I can run the query for specific company code and data is being populated as the respective compay code.
I have also configure SSO between BI & BO using below link

Bex query for BW abap report/ transaction

Hi Experts, Here is a scenario: I developed ABAP program in BW using multiple DSOs for complex logic. Since I cannot use abap program directly in BO reports, I need to develop a query in BW for my abap program. Is it possible to develop a bex query for BW abap report / transaction in BW? As you said, I created virtual info cube based on function module.
In the info cube, I defined (4)dimensions and (1)key figure.
In the fucntion module, appropriate below parameters defined and code written for the data table (e_t_data)

no characteristcs data in i_th_sfc. But, key figures has data (1 record) in i_th_sfk.

Migrating Crystal and Webi Reports with Universe from 1 folder to different folders

Does anybody know of a way to do the following
this is for BOE XI 3.1 SP 6 FP 6.2 on Windows 2008 R2
We have multiple Crystal and Webi reports developed from 1 universe and we need to copy these Crystal and Webi reports to different folders in the same CMS for example
Universe Dev > Universe Folder Dev - Crystal and Webi Reports set in Dev Folder
Create a copy of the Dev Universe to Universe Folder Test – Copy the Dev Crystal and Webi Reports to Folder Test we need to Map it to the universe in the Test Universe folder(Copy of the Dev Universe)
Create a copy of the Dev Universe to Universe Folder UAT– Copy the Dev Crystal and Webi Reports to Folder UAT we need to Map it to the universe in the UAT Universe folder(Copy of the Dev Universe)
Create a copy of the Dev Universe to Universe Folder PROD – Copy the Dev Crystal and Webi Reports to Folder PROD we need to Map it to the universe in the PROD Universe folder(Copy of the Dev Universe)
The reason for this is each of these universe are connected to a different database i.e Test, UAT, Prod and we have over 200 reports and at the moment we have to manually map each report to the new universe individual which take up hours.
I have tried Lifecycle manager but came to the conclusion it cannot achive this
You cannot change the universe attached to the Crystal and Webi reports
you cannot promote Reports and Universes in the Same CMS to different folders
you cannot change the folder even if you promote jobs between servers
Does anybody know of a way to do this

The way you should do this is to have 4 different BO systems, Dev, Test, UAT and Prod.
Having this will allow you to use the same universe across all systems, but the connection to the database will be different on each system.
Not only will this allow you to smoothly report off different data sources, but you will also be able to upgrade and make configuration changes without impacting your production system.

What is purchase price variance ?, my user is telling that in SAP R/3, purchase price variance 100 and in BWI report it is 200 .
Any other terminologies are there for purchase price variance ?

Purchase price variance is he difference in price between the amount paid to the supplier and the planned or standard cost of that item
Request you to check your data first in your Cube/ODS, better would be to check in the data container where the data is first loaded.
Also check if this field is getting directly loaded as 1-to-1 mapping.

As per my findings the After Parameter is fired after the Parameters are given to the report and Before Report fires when the queries are parsed and data is fetched.

Probably none at this point.
We pass parameters from a form (and do not use the report param selection screen), but always run code in the afterpform.
put your parameter form code processing in the afterpform. I rarely ever use before report.
The order is as expected:
before pform
param form
after pform
before report
report
--between pages during report run
after report

Multiple Column Header in Report (BEx and Web Reporting)

        I've a requirement where my reports is having multiple column header.
   To be precise the column header is further divided into many sub-columns (upto 4 levels).
Structure cannot help in this case since we have more than 2 such columns and we are using web reporting as well.
Here is how it looks

If your

Hdr-C1 |Hdr-C2 |Hdr-D1 |Hdr-D2 |Hdr-E1 |Hdr-E2 |Hdr-Fn..
are a set of key figures, then there is an option.
For example:
You drag Header-B1,Hdr-C1 |Hdr-C2
into column section.Right click on Hdr-C1, Hdr-C2 and select down under. So your Hdr-C1, Hdr-C2 will be under
Header-B1.
Like wise drag Header-B2,Hdr-D1,Hdr-D2
Right click on Hdr-D1,Hdr-D2 and say Down under and these two will fit below Header-B2.
You can repeat the above steps for Header-B3... Header-Bn
The output will be same as the one you have specified above.
