Output to Flash

When I output a Captivate as aFlash (under Output Options for
publish no boxes are checked and Flash Player Version is 7 (also
tried 8 and 9) is selected). The file exports but I am not able to
open the file. I have download the newest Flash player and no help.
What do I need to do to export this as a Flash movie (non-HTML) and
have other view it,

Hi again
Well, here's the deal with that. If you don't use the
companion HTML page, the .SWF will
STILL be typically presented to the user in the browser! So
the Function Key dilemma will still be present and not overcome.
To my knowledge, the only option to prevent displaying in the
browser is to use the .EXE format.
Sincerely... Rick

  • How to Save Command Output to Flash on ASA 8.4

    Hi,
I nice easy one for you guys.
How do you save the command output from the CLI  to a file on flash?
With IOS, I would normally use a pipe command to redirect to tftp, but the ASA doesn't support this as far as I can tell. As a work around I was thinking I could save the output to flash and then tftp that file off the ASA.
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for your help. I do use this feature at the moment, but I find every break in the output (where you need to hit space to see more) gets recorded which leaves the file quite messy. I usually have to edit the file afterwards so it reads clearly.
I wondered if there is a way for the asa to write the output directly?
    Thanks,
    Paul

  • I can no longer trace Output in Flash. Please Help!

Hi, I'm learning Flash and Action Script 3 but I'm stuck with a problem.
The Output panel stopped tracing my scripts. For example the Output panel will not display anything after I type trace("this"); in the Actions window and press Shift + Enter. I'm not sure what's the cause but this started after I tried to use Debug Movie for the first time. The Output panel still shows errors though but no tracing.
Restarting Flash and the Computer didn't help. I tried deleting the user files. I'm using Vista and I decided that Flash by default stores the user files in C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS4. I removed the Flash CS4 folder there hoping that restarting with a fresh settings will fix the problem. Unfortunately it didn't. And I'm not sure it this is where Flash stores the user files because after what I thought will be fresh restart, Flash still remembers which were my most resent files in its Welcome window. At the moment I don't have any other ideas but to reinstall Flash.
I would greatly appreciate any help with this.

    thank you kglad,
Now I remember that I played with that without understanding what it is. Now I know very well
Anyway I still would like to know where Flash stores the user settings files, in case I mess with other things in the future with my learning experiments.
I will read the entire manual but meanwhile I like to play with things and when stuck with something like that I rather delete the user settings files instead of bothering people here with my stupid problems.
Will apprecate any tip about that
    Thanks

  • Published Output Files-Flash

Hi, would anyone know if a paper exists that would explain
how the output files generated [Flash] display with the correct
page in the web application or do I have to add map id's and work
with the developer to create this feature. In other words do I add
map id's in order for the user to view help for the page he is on
and if I don't - will the user get the browser help and navigate to
the help he needs. I haven't worked with this tool alot as you can
    tell.
    Thank you.

    Kathleen,
Yes, map IDs are necessary for context-sensitive help to
work. If you are looking for instructions for implementing the map
IDs correctly, I found that having someone (a developer) who is
familiar with JavaScript look at the explanation in RoboHelp's help
system went a long way. (See the topic in RoboHelp's help entitled
    "Calling functions from Web pages.")
All that is really needed for the context sensitivity to work
in Web applications is two main things:
    1. In RoboHelp, assign a map ID to each of your help topics
that corresponds to a Web page. (Use the Context-Sensitive Help
    folder in RoboHelp's left pane.)
    2. Have your developer(s) put the link to RoboHelp_CSH.js in
the <head> of each Web page's HTML. The help link must also
be coded with a little JavaScript, including the correct map ID for
that page. "Calling functions from Web pages" gives an example.
RoboHelp_CSH.js, which you can find in the directory where you
installed RoboHelp (...RoboHelp 6.0\CSH API), must be copied to the
appropriate place where this link can find it.
The map ID part takes a little coordination between you and
the developers, but that is really the only thing that should be
different from Web page to Web page. The rest of the JavaScript
should be the same on each page.
If you decide not to work with context sensitivity and map
IDs, the Help link can link to the ***.htm file that is named after
your project, and the help will open to the file that you set as
the default topic in the FlashHelp output dialog.
Feel free to post again if you have questions about the
details. I believe some of the experts in the forum have tutorials
online if you don't find RoboHelp's help or this forum adequate in
    answering your questions. Good luck,
    Ben

  • Web gallery output and flash

is flash the only output for web galleries?

Actually, I've now tried it on a number of templates for web output, and none of them actually show the text or link for the email link or web address - it's not showing up in the template or final output.
Also, is there a way (not too hard!) to place a 'back' button or a url address somewhere in a template? If I knew the actual text to place, I could >perhaps< copy it in somewhere...
    Thanks
    Laurence Bartone
    Check:
    http://bartonephotography.com/Weddings/
That's a link, using the flash gallery - but I'll probably change it soon to a varient on 'blue sky'.

  • Output from Flash to session cookies

    Hi,
I'm a newbie as far as Flash is concerned. My background is
coding dynamic ASP 3.0 with ODBC connection to Access databases. I
have a number of educational programmes written in Flash that I
want to be able to track the progress of the student through each
scene so I can provide advanced reporting.
I am hoping the simplest solution ( not necessarily the best)
is to get each scene to write to the session cookie. I can use the
Global.asa file Session.end event to capture the output to write to
a database. I would like to write several variables for each scene
    - course name, scene number, date & time.
    All help appreciated

    Hi Kglad,
    Good news
    - that sounds like an answer....
    Did I say I was a newbie??!!
I really appreciate you help though. Is it possible to get a
    paint by numbers answer?
I am hoping that I can add the needed action script at the
    beginning of each scene.
    Merry Christmas

  • 28xx/12.4(25b) - Not able to append EEM CLI output to flash

    Hi,
I am trying to use EEM on a 2800 running 12.4(25b) Adv IP,  to capture some output, when a particular syslog message is seen. When the syslog is seen, EEM runs but bails out, since it cannot write to flash.

    Hi,
Is there an EEM file present on flash?
I'm just guessing but it seems as though you would need to do something along the lines of:
    Original
    action 2.0 cli command "ping 4.2.2.2 source Loopback0 | append flash:EEM"
    Proposed
    action 1.9 cli command "delete /force flash:EEM"
action 2.0 cli command "ping 4.2.2.2 source Loopback0"
    action 2.1 cli command "more $_cli_result | append flash:EEM"
    Again, just a guess.
    Thanks!
    Addendum:
It is not possible to "more" a variable nor can you pipe ping.  So to achieve the desired result you will need to use Tcl.  When EEM 4.0 is released there may be some additional file manipulation abilities.

    These load fine.
the problem starts in the second for(). For some strange

The count for each category project count is correct.
But it would seem that each category want to load every

This information is correct and should be what flash is

    THanks for any help

One possible issue is a browser caching problem.
    Also consider trace statements for
    trace ("results_lv.typeCount :" +results_lv.typeCount);
    trace ("count:" +count);
    trace ("result_lv[\"type\" + count + \"clientCount\"]:" +
    result_lv["type" +
    count + "clientCount"]);
Your statements "here is what PHP sends back to Flash" and
    "what Flash
receives" is puzzling. Could you be saying here is what PHP
    returns to a web
browser page and here is what Flash sees? If that is the
    case, then it looks
like two different responses from the PHP program.
I generally have a test web page that sends the same data to
    the PHP script
as Flash would and have have a debug option in the PHP to
    return the return
values in a <pre> format so I can see them neatly in a
    web page. This
allows testing the PHP program separately and verify what it
    returns outside
of Flash. Once that is clear, then you should see the exact
    same
    information.
    Example
echo $returnVals; // Contains all the url encoded variables.
in debug mode for web page
    echo "<html><body><pre>" . $returnVals .
    </pre></body></html>";

  • Audio Output to Flash Server

    Hi,
I am in the early stages of designing a web application that
will have live streaming audio. Most of the application will be
    hosted on a public web/Java EE/Linux server and I am considering a
hosted FMS solution to handle the streaming of the audio to users.
Now for the tricky part - the audio will be generated by
software on our server that was originally designed to just send
its output to an audio device on the machine it is installed on. Is
there some sort of driver I can install that will accept the output
from this software as if it were a speaker and instead send it to a
    remote Flash server?
Thanks in advance for any help,
    Marc

I want to play audio from my MacBookPro (13inch) through my Roberts stereo which has a standard USB port, which can be selected as the source for playing through the speakers. Does anyone know of a cable I can use to connect the audio output on my MacBook to the USB input on my stereo?
I would have thought this was a pretty standard conversion but cant find anyone selling something with a 3.5mm jack on one end and a USB jack on the other?
    Thanks in advance!
Why don't you use the USB port on your computer to get the audio out? USB to USB.

  • Can I output for flash 7 with adobe media encoder

Our Flash Player 7 needs to play this movie.
Adobe Media Encoder doesn't seem to give me many options for what Flash Player my output file will work with.
But I don't know much about video so maybe there's a way.
    Anyone know?

Look at it from the viewpoint of what codecs the player will accept, and proceed from there.

  • Output in Flash v5

Hi - We are using Captivate v1 and we now have a need to run
the simulations on some legacy machines that only have flash v5. It
is goign to be expensive to upgrade them to v6 as per the
requirements of Captivate. Just wondering if any one has been able
to work around and run an enviroment with Flash v5?

Hi murrayp and welcome to our community
It is goign to be expensive to upgrade them to v6 as per the
    requirements of Captivate.
Your answer would seem to indicate you feel each PC
displaying Captivate output, each user must have the Flash
application itself installed? If so, you need to know that only the
    Flash
Player needs to be installed. And the player is a free
download or upgrade for anyone needing to display Flash content.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Output to Flash Problems

I am experiencing problems when I export my project to flash in Encore CS3. The project builds & transcodes, then makes a .swf file but when I embed the flash into my html page it will not play. I know I have the correct html code to embed the flash movie into my page and when I replace the flash file I created in Encore with a flash file I have created in Adobe Flash and it will play on my page. The .swf files seem to be really small in size compared to what I have when I build in flash. Is this an Encore CS3 bug that needs to be fixed? Any suggestions as to what I could be doing wrong if not a software issue?

I have attempted several different flash projects ranging from a simple timeline with a 30 second mpeg clip, to a fully authored 15 min DVD presentation with menus. The latest small clip that I exported to flash was 131kb when I went to the sources folder and clicked on properties. the flash folder itself was named bugtest and the flash file was named FlashDVD.swf
I also uninstalled and reinstalled Encore to see if there was an issue with a bad install but it still will not play properly.

  • Why are input-output lights flashing when not in use? Pirated signal?

I have my airport base station set up to not make itself public (ie. you must type the name of the network and password for it to appear and let you in). However, I noticed the other morning when I got up (in the dark!) that the lights were flashing like crazy. It really looks like it is in use. Is there anyway to minitor whether or not somebody is stealing signal from me, or is there another explanation?
    Thanks!

I also can state that it is absolutely normal behavior and nothing to worry about (there is always some network traffic).
Regarding security, if you really think that could be an issue, you should allow only devices their MAC addresses have been registered to the AirPort to get access.
This does not take effect to encryption, but prevents unauthorized people (e.g. your neighbor) to share your WLAN network - regardless if they know your password or not.
Settings are done at the AirPort maintenance software: Select the station, click on "configure", on new window select the tab "Access" and then add the MAC addresses of all devices that are allowed being connected.
(Note that I use the German version of the AirPort maintenance software, so I'm not sure if I named it correctly).
MAC addresses are located on all network cards or their packaging, bottom of notebooks (if they have a (W)LAN adapter; remove battery in case you can't find it, sometimes it is hidden there) or somewhere at the back panel of your desktop computer with integrated (W)LAN adapter.
Just to explain: MAC addresses are unique to each device, they should never appear twice in the World; therefore this is a very safe solution.
And if you not care much about encryption, you can turn it off completely and profit from faster network access (but this is at your own risk).

  • Output Lightroom Flash Gallery for a website gallery?

LOVE Bridge's design for a photo gallery!  Is there a way that I can use that flash gallery as a gallery in a web design?  In otherwords, in a web design or as a link.  I have a main page designed in Dreamweaver and want to use the gallery created in Bridge as a means to view my artwork.  Is that possible.  I see that I can publish it, but how can I use as a link.  I thought this more a Bridge Forum question I hope...
    MANY THANKS in advance!!

Works fine on Windows 7 in Firefox 14, but not in IE 9...

  • Authorware output to Flash

A shot in the dark - Has anyone heard any whispers on the
    liklihood or timescale of this?
I am about to start some projects more compicated than I
usually do and can only justify continuing with AW if this may be
an option, otherwise it's using Flash which I don't want to do.
Any tips to help fuel my debate with IT would be appreciated

Adobe suggested that it could be available by summer 2007.

I cannot honestly recommend that you make a decision that
    hinges on this
feature. Even if it available, you may find that it is not
    completely
suitable for your needs. As a general rule you should not
    ever make
decisions on possible future features unless they are already
    announced and
    confirmed.
Besides - it's better for you in the long run if you know
    both Authorware
    *and* Flash.
Better roll up your sleeves and start learning ActionScript.
