Pa-30 edit start date

Dear SDN Team,
In PA-30 txn , when i change start date field (01.10.2010), system showing error message "Employee active since 01.06.2010'.
Can you pls tell how can i change the start date?

You cant change the start date in action(0000) and 0001 infotypes.. if u are in same action i.e Hiring .. system saves start date once u enter and saved the date for that specific action and it allows u to change the date because the employee became active from that date.. thats because it wont allow u to change the start date and also it is because of time constraint 1 no gaps no over laps .. that is the reason bedhind that error message.. since the employee is active in company it wont allow u to change the start date.... but U can do the modifications for date changes in infotype 0041..

I had created some custom date fields(model, bol entity) in component ICCMP_BTSHEAD. We are calculating Start date based on the new input value into receiving date in the other context node.
so, for this i get the value on controller class(_IMPL). and pass the same value in the GET method of Start date.
But, Problem is Start date is the non-editable field so SET method will not be trigger as expected. so the same i used the DO_PREPARE_OUTPUT method but it's called and update the value when we press the enter. IF directly we click on the "SAVE" button then it' trigger but value is not updating in the database.
Please, find the below piece of code for the same. can u please anybody help me that how can i achieve this requirement.

yes, i checked the same thing also. But DO_HANDLE_DATA is called before the SET method of receiving date and in that case we are getting the old value in DO_HANDLE _DATA and source and Target fields both are not updating.
I checked, if, i'll change the input field then set method of input field and then EH_ON_SAVE is called directly.
i think, if i'll do the same modification in the EH_ON_SAVE method as i did in the DO_PREPARE_OUTPUT then it can be updated but i don't want to change the EH_ON_SAVE at this moment.
is there any other way to update the START DATE(Display mode in the screen) which is calculate from the other context node field receiving date.

Disable the Editing Option in Employee Start Date at change Mode

but my client asking to disable that field. In create mode only that field should be enabled. i meant field ( PA0001-begda).

Show scheduling message when direct edits to Start date

Is therre a way to show scheduling message when someone is editing the Start date directly for a task, I understand that a constrain get set by doing so, yet I also want to display some kind of scheduling message to the PMs, is it possible.

Issue with Ord Start Date

Hi,
I am having issue with Ord Start Date.
When i create XYZ Asset now when i do the acquasation for that new asset. Example: Using FB01 i enter todays date and i do the posting.
Now when i go to DEP Area TAB for the DEP Key (M200) - The Ord Dep Start Date is 15 Dec 2010.
For this DEP Key Period Control Methods (T code - AFAMP) - Acquisation Entered is ( 6 that is - at the start of year) and the Period Control is ( T code - OAVS) (4 that is - First year convention at half year start date).
Our client is using the fiscal year as 1 June 2010 to 31 May 2011.
So when i do acquistion for the asset as per the period contol the Ord Dep Start Date should be 1 Dec 2010, but here it is talking 15 Dec 2010.
Why is system talking 15 days more.

Which Fiscal year variant are you using??
Did you maintain it in OAVH? Copy the existing entry in OAVH for K4 to your Fisc Yr var and try again
And also, 04 does not figure for Acquisitions in AFAMP under 0004.... Whatever you specify in OAVH must also be a part of AFAMP

Fiscal year variants in co.code have inconsistent start date.Msg no AC531

We went with 24 periods after Go live. I am trying to assign the TAX basis fiscal year variant(TX) at Depreciation area level. But it's not letting to add with the following error message.
Fiscal year variants in co.code have inconsistent start date
Message no. AC531
Diagnosis
The first day of the fiscal year for variant TX (24periods) in company code in Asset Accounting differs from the first day of the fiscal year for variant D1(12 periods) in General Ledger Accounting.
However, both variants must have the same start and end date! Only the periods within the fiscal year can be different in the two variants.
Please guide me how to fix this error message.

In the NewGL in Asset Accounting, it is still not possible for

Making Period Start Date read-only on Appraisal page

I have a requirement to default Appraisal Period Start Date and Period End Date and make these fields non-editable. I am able to default the values for these fields by extending CO. When I make these fields read-only and performs any operation on page, getting error
+'You must enter a value for Period Start Date as criteria for the List Of Values.'+
Please suggest a solution to resolve this error.

Search on basis of start date and end date

Hi,
I have added two fields 'Start Date' and 'End Date' on a search page.
I have done the VO extension also.
Now, I have to implement search logic to get all the records created in between 'Start Date' and 'End Date' after pressing the 'GO' button on that page.
Can anyone please provide guidance to extend the controller.

I get unwanted duplicate lines when editing the data content of my JTable

I have created an editable JTable (filled with data from an SQL) with a modified instance of AbstractDataModel.
I have a phenomenon that I cannot explain nor fix: each time I edit a data field in the JTable and press ENTER or leave the field, the edited line is duplicated. The extra content is not sent to my SQL (if I recreate the table everything is fine, except that certainly the changed value is lost). The problem must come from the Java code.
Ok, I admit, that I am not a Java pro and might have made a really stupid error, but I cannot find it.
Has someone already seen such a behavior?

Now we are drifting away a little from Java and start getting into philosophy ... :-) But one last reply I will do:
I agree that just playing around with the fuse box is dangerous and brings no benefit. But I am not that unknowing in Java... Technically saying I work in IT, but just not as a programmer but rather as a business consultant (I write the functional concepts that later the programmers have to implement and then I have to talk to them to fix functional errors and do the testing). Besides, I hold an official Java Programmer degree. But when not programming professionally and continuously gaining experience, it is very hard to keep your skill up. Therefore I do one or another hobby project with Java that I could also do better and faster with other tools such as Excel, Access or a simple batch job.
My concept for trying new things is to get a piece of code from the internet from which I assume I know roughly what it does. Then I use it in my programs, and while altering it to my needs, I continuously keep searching in API, documentation and tutorials or simple trial and error to get better insight into the details.
And as a scientist you know what I mean when I say that if I try something new, I simply accept for certain details that they work without knowing how. And over time I then take the time for the "how". Many famous people made their inventions by trial and error and while then testing their new observation and changing the surrounding conditions found out why they work. Not that I would claim for myself to be anything close to a genius inventor but I found that the approach works for me to advance in my insights of a solution.

Difference in Maintenance Plan date to Order basic start date

If i creat a strategy plan and schedule, i am getting difference in PLan date in Maint plan to Basic start date. What is making this difference. How to overcome this. I need Order start date same as PLan date.

Basic start date and basic finish date in the maintenance sub-order

when I create a maintenance sub-order by the transaction IW36 are the Basic start date and the Basic finish date taken,inherited from the principal Maintenance order?And if it is in this way,is there the possibility to put these two dates as a current day only on the maintenance sub-order ?Thanks in advance...

Date Validation - End date before Start date

This may be a very simple validation but I seem to be having trouble. I've got a form which requires a date range to be selected (Date Picker fields)...a Start date, and an End date.
I've created a Function Returning Boolean validation with the code as:

end;This works 99%, except when the date range spans years.
For example, when I select '21-Dec-2010' in the start date and '4-Jan-2011' in the end date. The validation fails, and thinks the end date is before the start date.
Do I need to compare the year part of the date, before doing the rest? Or is the '<' not suited for this sort of check?
