Page cannot be displayed message ONLY on the content area of the portal

Hi All,
I am using Netweaver Portal 7.0 and the portal works fine if logged in as an end user. But when I'm logged in as Administrator and whenever I try to create a portal object (iview or pages etc), I get a page cannot be displayed message ONLY on the content area of the portal. It is happening quite frequently, any clue what is wrong here?
Thanks for your help
-Mike

Hi
This could  sometimes happen because of  multiple users working on the same content .

    Hi together,
    since a couple of weeks, I have the problem with the message above in subject. My Client tries to access a "news" document which is - so I think - created by XMLForms Builder. When he clicks on the link, he got the message "The page cannot be displayed. The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. ....".
    I have checked the IE option settings. Therefore, we have a PDF document with all required settings. I had also the same problem which has been fixed after I have made changes on my settings but that has no effect on my Client's PC.
    I need an urgent idea / solution how to fix that. Thanks for helps

    If this is an XE installation it would probably be best addressed in the Oracle XE forum. Having said that, I had a similar problem on my Windoze machine and needed to uninstall all previous Oracle client products.
    The basic problem (for me) was that the operating environment (path and environment variables) is not properly prepared to run the XE database and web server. Removing the other Oracle client apps removed the conflicting and offending environment settings and all works well.
    For further info you might want to go to that Oracle XE forum.

  • Page cannot be displayed message

    Hi,
    When I run a webi report in the interactive viewer in XI 3.1 I get a 'The page cannot be displayed'. When I look at the technical information on that error page it says " Error code: 500 Internal Server Error. The request was rejected by the HTTP filter. Contact the server administrator (12217) "
    Sometimes a report will run and be displayed OK but I seem to be getting this message on longer running reports.
    Does anyone have any ideas why this is?
    Thanks,
    Chrs

    Hmmmm I think it may be down to European character sets being restricted by the firewall.

  • UI element in Webdynpro to align the content area at the center of the page

    Hi Experts,
    I am looking for a UI element in webdynpro which can keep the entire content area aligned to the center of the page as well as can provide the borders along the content area.
    Please suggest if there exists any such UI element in webdynpro.
    P.S. We are using NWDS Version: 7.01.00
    Thanks in advance for the replies.
    Regards,
    Anurag

    Hi Anurag,
    What you can try is to put all of your UI elements in Group and then do the alignment. Set the visibility property of the group header to invisible. This will give you a border.
    Hope this solves your problem.

  • Page cannot be displayed - No Web Dispatcher - Only ICM running

    Hi,
    Our training system is a ‘SAP ERP Central Component 5.0’, on a WAS 6.40 platform. There is only the Central instance running with all processes available, including ICM. The Dispatcher is NOT configured.
    When entering following url, results in 'Page Cannot Displayed'error message:
    ===============================
    http://<virtual-FQDN>:<port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/hrrcf_start_int?sap-
    client=230&BspClient=230&sap-
    language=EN&BspLanguage=EN&rcfSpId=9001&rcfContext=MCC
    <b>The 'Page cannot be displayed'error occurs FOR ALL SERVICES.</b> The above url was working before and as far as everyone here knows, there have been no changes.
    The following url ping tests were SUCCESSFUL. These were typed directly into the Internet Explorer Address:
    ==================================================
    http://<virtual-FQDN>:<port>//sap/bc/ping?sap-client=200
    and
    http://<virtual-FQDN>:<port>//sap/bc/ping?sap-client=230
    and
    http://<virtual-FQDN>:<port>//sap/bc/ping
    However, performing the ping test from Tx SICF, results in an error.  For some reason, the url resolves to Physical-FQDN for teh hostname.  However, when changing hostname to the Virtual-FQDN, then Ping works.  (Not sure why the Physical-FQDN is not working)
    Also testing the service ‘hrrcf_start_int’ from Tx SICF, results in the same ‘Page cannot be displayed’ error.  (Same for all services)
    From Tx SE80, INTERNAL has been selected for Publishing.
    Service has been activated.
    Have run program SIAC_PUBLISH_ALL_INTERNAL from Tx SE38.  Services has also been deactivated and activated from Tx SICF.  None of this has helped resolve the error.
    Some ICM parameters as follows:
    icm/server_port_0     = PROT=HTTP,PORT=8012
    icm/host_name_full    = <virtual-FQDN>
    As mentioned before, the url was working some 2 weeks back, but for some reason is no longer working.

    Hi Dezso,
    Thanks for your suggestion.
    The issue is now being resolved.  The problem was as follows:
    Previously the on-site Consultancy had configured one of the Transport Consolidation routes from DEV to TRN.  (This has now been reconfigured so that TRN as well as PRD are the TARGET routes from QA system.
    However, previously ABAP Support Packages were applied to DEV & QA.  (& not to TRN).  Then a Developer transported the SPAU transport through the landscape and it obviously went to the TRN server.  (Transport was not imported into Production).
    So TRN had no SPs applied, but the transport had been imported into TRN due to landscape setup.
    Now the problem is due to an object that concerns authentication which was overwritten by the transport in TRN.  (Preventing user authentication).  We have a work around in that we can send the users directly through the ITS via a url, they can then authenticate and then they copy and paste the url they are using in the IE Address space.  After logging on, the IE session is still holding the session cookie, so no need to authenticate again after copying the url the user wants to use.  (I hope this makes sense?  No sure how better to describe this).
    The longer term solution will be apply the SPs also to TRN and then apply the SPAU transport to TRN and it should then be fine.

    Sanjay

  • Webtemplate: The page cannot be displayed

    Hello All,
    When I try to execute a webtemplate in the Browser, I am getting "The page cannot be displayed" message. At the top of the Browser winow.."Cannot find server-Microsoft internet explorer"
    Could you explain me why the webtemplate is unable to execute in the browser?...what are the steps i have to proceed to execute the webtemplate in the browser?
    Regards,
    Pasumarty

    Hello Heike Guder,
    I checked in SMICM, HTTP protocol is running on 8080.
    I compared the Parameters of properly configured WAS, on which our webreporting is currently running.
    from rz10 the fllowing parameters are found, from the running server.
    icm/host_name_full
    icm/server_port_0
    icm/server_port_1
    icm/max_conn
    icm/max_threads
    icm/keep_alive_timeout
    and I added all the above parameters to the server, on which, ICM is not configured. After adding the above parameters, I found fallowing things:
    1. When i execute the template in the browser..the URL is "http://<server>:8100/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=ZACD_CHECK_APPLICATION01"
    --> even though icm/server_port_0 PROT=HTTP,PORT=8080,TIMEOUT=1800  but in the URL it is showing 8100 port.
    2. http://<server>:8100/sap/bw/BEx? is not working, same message, page can not be displayed.
    Please suggest me, if you have any further suggestions, to make WAS working properly.

  • The page cannot be displayed while running the report with web link

    Hello,
    I tried to run the report using a web link similar:
    http://hostname/reports/rwservlet?report=WRFTCKL.rdf&userid=use/pass@datbase&desformat=pdf&destype=CACHE&paramform=yes
    I am able to see the parameter form, but after I entered some parameter and submit, I got an error as:
    The page cannot be displayed.
    But if I run it with the paramform=no and attached the parameter/value pair at the end of the link, the report will show on the web.
    Anyone knows what is wrong?

  • Web Dispatcher - Page Cannot Be Displayed

    We have a Web Dispatcher in a DMZ (DMZ2) that is used for external (Internet) access to our E-Sourcing application. The E-Sourcing application is in another DMZ (DMZ1).
    When external (sell-side) users enter the url in their browser to connect through the Web Dispatcher over the Internet, the initial E-Sourcing screen is displayed very briefly in the browser and then the message 'Page cannot be displayed' comes up on the screen. If the browser screen is refreshed, the login screen is then displayed and the user is able to log in with no issues.
    This occurs only when trying to access the E-Sourcing application through the Web Dispatcher. It does not make any difference if the Web Dispatcher hostname is used in the url (internal access through Web Dispatcher) or if the url created specifically for the Web Dispatcher is used (external (Internet) access through the Web Dispatcher). The result is the same.
    If either http://WebDisp_Hostname (internal) or http://www.myESOapp.here.com (external Internet) is entered in the browser, both display the front-end ESO screen briefly and then display the 'Page cannot be displayed' message. Refreshing the browser screen then displays the login screen and users can log in OK.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction to solve this? I have reviewed the Web Dispatcher trace file and the E-Sourcing log file and can find no errors or anything that would indicate what might be going on. It appears to be a Web Dispatcher issue. Any help would be appreciated.
    WL

    Hi Wayne,
    When external (sell-side) users enter the url in their browser to connect through the Web Dispatcher over the Internet, the initial E-Sourcing screen is displayed very briefly in the browser and then the message 'Page cannot be displayed' comes up on the screen. If the browser screen is refreshed, the login screen is then displayed and the user is able to log in with no issues.
    When first time you call URL , do you the page of Esourcing or you directly get the error page.
    It better , install HTTP watch software on you dekstop and then activate the HTTP watch and start browsing the page and generate the problem which you are facing .
    Once it is done share the result of HTTP Watch  in the forum , depend upon that we can come to some solution.

  • This page cannot be displayed - web connectivity problem

    Just purchased an HP laptop with Windows 8 and IE 10.
    I am connecting to my wireless connection because I can login and use Yahoo messenger, but cannot access any websites.  When open IE, get the error:  This page cannot be displayed.
    There is an option to Fix Connection Issues - tried this and get the following results:
    Problem with wireless adaptor or access point  (not fixed)
    Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (www.msn.com) is not responding.
    Searched Google and there was a suggestion to flush the dns using command:  ipconfig \flushdns.  Did this, rebooted and then the home website does come up (www.msn.com).  However, if I click any link on the site, I then get back to the same 'This page cannot be displayed' message.
    Anyone else having this same issue or have any suggestions for resolving?
    Thanks

    I'm sorry your new laptop isn't working! I think I have some solutions for you and hopefully resolve your issue quickly.
    (Make sure your time and date are correct!)
    First, reset your router. This is done by unplugging the power from your router and modem. Once ALL the lights on both are out, wait a few seconds. Plug the modem back in, wait for the lights to come on, then the router. Give it time to access the device and assign IP addresses (this takes up to 4 minutes with some models). Once completed, try to reconnect using your HP laptop.
    If that does not work, manually reset your IP address by using the command prompt (search for it using the search option on the right menu),
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
    This should flush the IP address. You have already reset the DNS, and you may do so again just to clear everything.
    If that still does not work, hook the Ethernet cable directly into your laptop and see if it can get online. If it does, then it is a wireless connection issue and you should either return it OR have Geek Squad take a look. If it doesn't work, then either your router will NOT assign an IP address properly due to the computer having the same IP or Name as another computer on your network, or the computer could have a winsoc issue. In this case, you would have to restore the computer or
    go to :
    microsoft.com/fixit
    And use there fix. Download it on another computer, burn to DVD/CD or drop it to a flash drive, then use it on the computer giving you the issue.
    Let me know if any of these options work!

    i installed tomcat and created a simple servlet named servlet1.
    i created a directory named servlet1 and put servlet1.class under servlet1/WEB-INF/classes. i also put web.xml under WEB-INF.
    in web.xml i wrote-
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app
    PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN"
    "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd">

    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>servlet1</servlet-name>
    <display-name>servlet1</display-name>
    <servlet-class>servlet1</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>servlet1</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/servlet/servlet1</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    </web-app>
    but when i tried to run it in the browser with url's like-
    http://localhost:8080/servlet/servlet1
    i got the "the page cannot be displayed" message
    (i also tried without the 8080).
    my environment variables are-
    JAVA_HOME = C:\j2sdk1.4.2_10\bin
    PATH = %PATH%;%JAVA_HOME%\bin
    what is wrong?
    thanks in advanced.

    hi friend,
    gave the url in browser like this :
    http://localhost:8080/servlet1/servlet/servlet1
    now ur application will get executed. Otherwise I gave small example with the required programs. pls look at those once and make changes as per my instructions. if u have any doubt let me know immediately.
    make the application as follows: u can execute ur application:
    i will give u each and everything clearly, follow these.
    step 1:[b]write the servlet : For example : TestServlet
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.io.PrintWriter;
    import javax.servlet.GenericServlet;
    import javax.servlet.ServletException;
    import javax.servlet.ServletRequest;
    import javax.servlet.ServletResponse;
    * @author sivakumar
    public class TestServlet extends GenericServlet  {
          public void service(ServletRequest request,ServletResponse response)throws ServletException,IOException{
                   PrintWriter out=response.getWriter();
                   response.setContentType("text/html");
                   out.println("Hi this is first servlet");
    step 2:[b]web.xml
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <web-app xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee"
        xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
        xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/web-app_2_4.xsd"
        version="2.4">
      <servlet>
        <servlet-name>testServlet</servlet-name>
        <servlet-class>TestServlet</servlet-class>
      </servlet>
      <!-- Standard Action Servlet Mapping -->
      <servlet-mapping>
        <servlet-name>testServlet</servlet-name>
        <url-pattern>/testServlet</url-pattern>
      </servlet-mapping>
    </web-app>
    Step 3 : set classpath to servlet.jar or servlet-api.jar depending upon ur tomcat version
    for example, if Tomcat5.0 is available in C:\ drive,then
    set CLASSPATH=C:\Tomcat5.0\common\lib\servlet-api.jar
    Step 4: Compile your Servlet
    Step 5: Create your directory structure as follows : and place ur class file in classes directory of WEB-INF
              RootDirecotry
                             WEB-INF
                                         classes
                                         lib
                                         web.xml
                               html [if needed]
                               jsp [if needed]
            For ur application( For example ur root direcotory is   servlet)
                 servlet
                             WEB-INF
                                         classes
                                                    TestServlet.class
                                          lib
                                          web.xml  (which i have given above)
    Step 6 : Deploy this application in tomcat's webapps directory
    Step 7 : Give the URL as follows
    http://localhost:8080/servlet/testServlet
    Port number depends on configuration. Make sure ur tomcat is running at 8080. otherwise give the port number which u mentioned at the time of tomcat installation.
    Thanks ,
    Regards.

  • Display the reports under all subfolders at a time in the content area?

    Hi All,
    In SAP EP portal,We have a requirement to display few reports wherein we have 7 roles with the same names but different ID's and they are merged together so that even if the users have 7 roles assigned he will see only 1 tab in the first level navigation and uder that there will  be one folder at the second level.Now the requirement is like this
    1st level navigation : Role Name
    2nd level navigation :Folder Name
    Detailed Navigation : Folder Name
                                     Sub Folder Name
                                     Sub -sub folder1 Name
                                     Reports   --(one or many)
                                     Sub -sub folder2 Name
                                     Reports   --(one or many)
                                     Sub -sub folder3 Name
                                     Reports   --(one or many)
    Under al the sub-sub folders a workset map iview is added to display the reports with a pictogram in the content area.In the detailed navigation, as soon as the user clicks on the Sub folder the user should be able to see the reports under all the Sub-sub folders( Sub-sub folder1,Sub-sub folder2,Sub-sub folder3) .But currently the user has to explicitly click on each of the Sub-sub folders to view the reports(thrice in this case).Plz give a solution in which all the reports under the 3 Sub-sub folders should appear simultaneouly in the content area at a single click on Sub Folder

  • Links in the content area

    Hi, we have a iview that have a list of links, the iview is diplayed in a page in the content are on the right.
    Some of the links are open in a new window but other we want to display it on the content area, we want that the navigation panel will be equal but the link will be in the content area.
    We want that the behaviour will be like when you push a option in the detailed menu navigation.
    We have updated com.sap.portal.navigation.contentarea.par component with
    EPCM.subscribeEvent('urn:myOwnNameSpace','searchResult', handle_searchResult_Event);
    function handle_searchResult_Event( evt ) {
    self.location.href = evt.dataObject;
    And from the iview:
    var searchURL= "http://"location.hostname":58700""<%=url%>" QueryString;
    EPCM.raiseEvent('urn:myOwnNameSpace','searchResult', searchURL );
    But the behaviour is wrong the url is show in all layout including navigation, the navigation panel (detailed navigation...) have lost.
    Any suggestions are welcomed.
    Thanks in advanced.

    Hi Nash,
    It is NOT true that Related Links always open in a new window.
    It is very important to know where to change the Launch in New Window property.
    Let's say I have a role R1, with W1, with I1, and I1 has a related link to I2. You need to do the following:
    Open W1.
    Select I1 and open for editing.
    Set the Display to Related Links. This screen shows the iView that is the related link (I2).
    Select I2 and click Edit.
    Change Launch in New Window to Display in Content Area.
    For some reason, when you select an iView to be a related link, this property is changed in the related item delta link. This seems like a bug.
    You cannot change the property in the original iView.
    NOTE: The above is for SP13. There may be some differences between SPs, but my assumption is that they work the same.
    Hope this helps.

  • Receive "The page cannot be displayed" for Pricing Conditions

    To all,
    I receive the message "The page cannot be displayed" for Pricing Conditions when I select the "Accesses" button.  I then received the message "HTML field saved to C:\temp\CRM_IPC.html".
    This only seems to happen when using the pricing in the service order confirmation.

    Hi Bob,
    R u using IPC for pricing, if yes just check the connections to the IPC server.
    The error is because of the IPC connection not getting established.
