Page jump

When I scroll down to try to re-write selected copy in the first paragraph in a text box in the middle of a page, the page jumps down, hiding the top of the text box. Does anyone have any idea if there's a preference I can change or some other way I can keep this from happening? Thanks.

Dennis,
I have the same (or similar) problem sometimes, but it's erratic and I haven't yet figured out the cause. When editing a typo in a block of copy in a text box, when I delete the offending letter, the view suddenly jumps lower on the page and I have to scroll back up, and then the jump occurs again when I type in the correction. An equally frustrating happening is when I try to scroll to a desired font in the Font Inspector, only to have the display jump back to where it was when I release the mouse.
I've written these off as odd quirks of Pages because there seems to be no consistency as to when they happen. (This could be one explanation for my loss of hair.)

  • Is there an easy way to insert a page jump link in Muse?

I have a client that wants to insert embeded videos onto one of his pages.  TWELVE OF THEM!  That is a lot of scrolling and I am wondering if there is an easy way to insert a page jump sot ath users can click at the video description and jump to the video below?

    Hello,
You can achieve this by using the Anchor option in Muse. You will find the Anchor option between the Effects and Browser Fill options in the toolbar at the top of the Page.
Please have a look at the screenshot :
You can follow the steps below to achieve this functionality :
    1) Click on this Anchor option and then scroll down to the video where you wnat to place the anchor.
    2) Now click just beside the audio and it will place the anchor (the anchor icon) there.
    3) Now it will ask you to rename the Anchor. Give it a desired name.
    4) Now select the text which you want to be the trigger (which when clicked should scroll down to the video). Now in the Hyperlink option in the toolbar at the top, you should be able to see an Anchors catagory and all the anchor names (you created) listed there.
    5) Select the desired target Anchor there and this functionality should work fine for you.
You can create 12 anchors for your 12 videos and place them beside each one of them.
Note : The Anchor icon is not displayed in Preview/Published output. It is only for design mode. But the functionality will still work.
    Hope this helps.

    Sachin

  • Page jump always to top in iTunes store on a 20" iMac

I use iTunes on my Macbook Air and everything works fine.
Last week i bought a 20" new iMac and when I'm inside the iTunes store I can not scroll to the end of the page because every few seconds the page "jumps" automatically at the top.
Can anyone help on this ?
    Thank you in advance

it's not your mac, it's itunes... c'mon apple, fix this! It's been doing it for me on windows for 3 versions.

  • My HTML code works fine in IE8 but pages "jump" slightly to the right and left in Firefox

I have created a website that looks and works fine in IE8 but in Firefox some of the pages jump a couple of pixels to the left. I have tried to debug it but cannot find any coding errors.

  • Page jumps to bottom of form on load

I have embedded this form and each web page jumps to the bottom of the form. If my content is more than a couple of lines then the page navigates to the bottom on page load. Running inside IBM Web Content Manager Portal system. Had the developers look at it and they say it is on the Adobe script end. Happens only in IE7 and IE8. Please assist.

    Randy,
    Thank you for the questions.
    1. The page is housed on a webserver.
    2. I used the code from the distribute tab and I used the copy button on the bottom of the window that the code pops up in when I choose embed.
I have tried hosting the form in an <iframe> but it makes no difference. In Chrome, Firefox and IE9 it works fine and does not jump down.

  • Reviewing all links and page jumps

Our editor is reviewing a multiple page PDF and needs to quickly look over all our hyperlinks and page jumps since there are many on one page. Is there an easy way to see all the links and page jumps to easily review them? Also note some hyperlinks are autogenerated by InDesign so they don't show up as links when you use the link tool.

If you are creating several text links in a text box and you turn the text into links one by one as you go they seem to all hook onto the first link.
Type out all your text first and then go back and create the links.

  • Trial InDesign, Page jumps around.

I just recently got a new iMac, 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.  Upgraded from 8-year old Tiger 10.4.11.
Also was using InDesign 2.0.  Everythings is so different, but then in computers, 8-years is ancient history!
Anyway, trying Trial Version of CS 5.5.  Imports old files well, but I have a problem with the page jumping around
alot when I use the mouse to select, especially when using the 'text' tool.  Is this a function of the Trial, something
that just happens with CS 5.5, something to do with setting/preferences, or somethings else.  It's very frustrating,
and I would hate to buy CS 5.5 and not have it work smoothly.
    Thanks, Don

It's amazing how 24 hrs. clears the head.  I found "Preferences, Live Screen Drawing."  Set to "Never."  Seems to have work and resolved the problem of the jiggles or ADS.  Now it only does it when I clickoutside the page, which I gues is normal.  Before change, jumped aroundalot when clicked within page.  Thanks a zillion!

  • EXCEL - when I click in a cell or in the formula bar, the page jumps down.

When I click in a cell or in the formula bar, the page jumps down.
I am not clicking on the border, so it's not that.
It doesn't happen in all documents... just some.  I copied the info to a new doc and it didn't do it right away, then started happening.
    Macros are off.
How can I make this stop happening?
    Thanks!

  • Tabs on Top - When a tab reloads whole page jumps

I am trying to get used to the new tabs on top. My webmail is open all the time and reloads every 30 seconds to check for new mail. Every time it does this, the whole web page jumps down and jumps back up slightly no matter what tab I am working on.
During reload the tab becomes deeper slightly and this causes the web page I am on to move down by the same distance then go back up again once reload is complete. This is very annoying when I am reading the page or in the process of ticking a box or dotting an option as it means I miss it because it's moved.
This does not happen with tabs on bottom. If this can't be fixed I'll have no choice but to move tabs back to what they were before FF4.
Does anyone else have this? Is it fixable?

Use Firefox Button instead of Menu Bar.
Go to View Menu>Toolbars>Uncheck Menu Bar option.
You will see orange firefox button on top left with tabs moving upwards.

  • Page jumps to top when click on link

    Hello everyone!!
I remember seeing a behavior for dreamweaver 8 that stops
page jump. I have picture links on my pages that bring up a 600pix
X 600pix picture and when it does, the page that you are curently
on jumps to the top. This makes it anoying because you have to
scroll back down to where you were. Can someone tell me what tis
behavior is or give me a link? Thanks!!!

Look at your link, you should have something like:
    <a href="#" onclick="somefunction(stuff here,and here too
    may be)">Your link
    text</a>
As Murray said you need to include a "return false" statement
    in there, but
the way he wrote it may confuse you. You don't put it within
    the "href"
    value itself but with *onclick*.
    Like this:
    <a href="#" onclick="somefunction(stuff here,and here may
    be);return
    false">Your link text</a>

  • How to avoid a line of data being cut by page jump ?

    Dear Java Experts,
I have encountered a very troublesom problem!
The problem is described as follows:
When the browser (IE or Netscape) contains many HTML character data (especially HTML tables and data from DATABASE), how can I print the data to client's printer
(i.e. browser's printer) without having a line of data cut by page jump?
That is how to avoid a line of data cut by page jump, upper part of the data in one page and lower part in next!
I think the problem should be solved with client's java applet!
Can any expert give me sample code to solve the problem or indicate me where I can find documents about solving the problem?
Thank you very much in advance!!
    Best Regards,
    Jackie Su

HTML is not really meant for device-specific presentation (despite a lot of abuses in this area).
I don't think you're going to solve this satisfactorily with HTML, no matter what you jury-rig around it.
If this kind of presentation control is a requirement, you're probably better off with a format that directly supports this--PDF is the most obvious choice.
There's a sourceforge project that supports PDF generation from Java (http://sourceforge.net/projects/itext/ - I don't have any experience with it) and I think there may be others.
And I believe there are also commercial products for this.

  • Pages jumps after leaving full screen mode

This has been driving me mad or quite a while. I'm a writer and I spend most of the day working with Pages. It's always in full screen mode, but whenever I switch to Mail or Safari, or if the system goes into screensaver mode, Pages jumps back from the insertion point, i.e. where I was working, to another place in the text, sometimes as far back as thirty pages. I have filed a bug report, but am curious to know if this common and if there is a solution. Any advise is appreciated.

Never got this behavior on my machines.
