Page Loads Too Slow

The login page 1 in my application branches to page 2, which is the front page for the portal. The front page presents the user with a choice of links to different sub level front pages in the application e.g Data p100, Analysis p200, Reporting p300. The link to the page required would be something like Analysis
The problem I have is that the page load time is too long .. over 4 minutes.
Any ideas on how I could tweak this please?

Scott,
Thanks for your reply.
I have recreated my application in my OTN HTMLDB workspace and I don't experience this issue. The page links load in under 1 second.
I can thus assume that the issue is specific to my environment.
What further steps to further narrow down my problem could you suggest?
Is this issue for instance, more likely to be with the front end HTMLDB environ, or the back end database where it is installed?
Thanks
Kezie

  • Video loading too slow

    Hi,
I've added some video to my Captivate7 module. The video loads too slow, so by the time it comes on the timeline has already past all the vital parts.
The module was generated in SWF, which is what is required by my customer.
    Any advice?
    Thanks,
    Jake

Reduce the size of the video, or increase the size of your end user's bandwidth.

  • Iwork documents loading too slow local wifi without internet

Our school has a few ssid for local wifi and I am using my ipad for mirroring with apple tv and my ssid has no internet connection. When I try to open any iwork document it is loading too slow. If I turn off wifi or if I connect internet, it is faster.

It is perfectly normal on wifi networks that have smart content filtering. School network, while not slow by itself, has special filtering programs that check your downloads for specific words, sites, images and slow down your connection by doing that.

  • LMS4.2.2 home page load very slow

                       Hi,
I migrated from windows LMS3.2.1 to soft appliance 4.2.2. i also set the gs.properties attribute to false. but, still the home page loads very slow. let me know if somebody experienced this and fond a resolution.
    thanks,

You're not the only one with this problem. There is a long discussion, with some proposed solutions, in this thread (and searching for "slow" in the Pages forum will bring up other threads as well).

  • Flash website I created is loading too slow and don't know how to put in preloader.

I have 4 swf files.  The index.html page is a flash swf that I renamed to index.html in order for it to the be first page to come out.
I have googled how to add a preloader but it's all too confusing, and I'm not sure if I should add it to the first swf that I renamed index.html.
The website that I created for the company is loading way too slow.
    I've deleted unused files.
I've compressed the images the best way I could.
I cannot change the images, because it's the whole purpose of the design.
Any other options of loading this website any faster other than changing the design, and putting it into Dreamweaver?
And where do I add the preloader after I made it? The first fla file?
    Thanks.

If by "converted" you mean that you've converted the trailer to a normal project using the menu option File>Convert to Project, then YES it is still possible to edit the Credits Title.
In the converted project, double-click on the blue Title bar that sits above the background clip. In the Viewer, double-click on the text you wish to change (or highlight text by dragging over it). Now you can replace the highlighted text by typing in the new text. You can also change fonts and font colours.
It's always good practice to duplicate the Trailer before converting it. To do this, while in Project Library view, click on the Trailer name in the Library then select File>Duplicate Project. A copy will appear in the Library with the same name as the Trailer, but with the number 1 appended. You can rename this copy as desired. Now, convert the duplicate to a standard project and continue with your editing as required. You now have the original Trailer in template form (which can be further edited), and can duplicate it again if required.

EDIT: Regarding my first sentence - just noticed that you did mention "converting it to a project" in you topic header. Sorry!

  • Fired up my first Azure Website to host some virtual tours... ftp uploading and page loads super slow.

I upgraded my plan to BASIC... any idea why FTP upload are so slow?  When I go to my pages, they are loading slowly too.

    Hi,
First, please have a look at this article to see how to use FTP in azure:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/kaushal/archive/2014/08/02/microsoft-azure-web-site-connect-to-your-site-via-ftp-and-upload-download-files.aspx, based on your description, the pages loading slowly, this issue only occur in your first time to loading? If yes, I
think it is normal, If you mean the initial request takes long and then any subsequent requests are fast, then that would be because you are hitting .NET apps cold start. Many .NET apps are slow to JIT and load all their .NET requirements, but once everything
is loaded, they are fast. If I misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know.
    Best Regards,

  • Guest Portal web page load is slow and timesout on occasions

    Hi All,
I'm hitting a rather unusual issue with our Guest WLAN users.  Firstly let me describe the topology:-
2 x 5508 WLC controllers one Foreign and one Anchor.  Mobility tunnel between the two WLC's as the Guest WLAN is on the WLC sitting in the DMZ.
30+ 2702i AP's running in FlexConnect mode for Dot1X WLAN and Central Switching for Guest WLAN.
Cisco ISE 1.3 acting as Radius server and providing Authentication and Authorisation policies.
Dot1x Authentication and Authorisation works fine with Dynamic VLAN assignment based on AD memberships.
The issue is with the Guest WLAN is that from a security perspective we weren't allowed to use the Central Web Authentication using L2 MAC filtering with the L3 Security of None as described in Cisco Document: 115732.
So the Guest WLAN has been set up with no L2 security and the L3 Security of Web Policy with Web Authentication to External Server i.e. Cisco ISE and RADIUS override on the Advanced tab of the Guest WLAN.
So a client connects to the Guest WLAN SSID > receives the DHCP IP address hosted by the Anchor WLC and then one opens a  browser types in the URL and the Security message is presented > Continue to this website (not recommended) selected and the process of receiving the Web Redirect Sign On Web page begins and hangs around forever.
Depending on the Client i.e. Apple IPAD the sign on page loads correctly although can be slow to start with but a successful login is completed, but with windows clients and MAC Air books there is an issue with the browser either timing out the page and a retry is necessary or we can't move beyond the following page -  https://x.x.x.x:8443/portal /PortalSetup.action?portal=194a5780-5e4e-11e4-b905-005056bf2f0a?switch_url=https://1.1.1.1/login.html&client mac=00:23:4e:86:98:3c&wlan=GUEST&redirect=www.cisco.com/
Any suggestions would be really appreciated with this as it's creating a lot of frustration.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
Yes Guest Cert will need to be external. Because Guest Users if they have a non-corporate laptop for example will not have your Internal Company Certs installed in their browser (that you loaded onto ISE), so they cannot trust your internal Cert.
If your open Firefox or IE under Options/Security View Certificates you will see a list, if its a Guest you will see well known public Certs like Geotrust, Verisign etc.
For my setup I brought a GeoTrust cert and loaded this into ISE, this way Guests will always Trust the Geostrust ISE cert like https://guest.com for example and the login will appear and be trusted.

  • Website is loading too slow

I recently published a site to mac and it is working fine on my computer when i view it. However, when i try to load my site on other computers, it takes 20-30 seconds to load. We have already gone in and downsized all of our pictures. they are on the smallest settings that they can be. What can i do to make my page load faster?

Its difficult to tell what the problem is without you sending in the URL of a page that is giving you problems. If you have a lot of photos on a page it will take time to download. What I think is a lot, some think is little.
iWeb also converts text into images in certain situations. This also effects download speed.
The .Mac server can be slow and unresponsive.
The one thing you can do is to optimize your files before uploading. This will produce a noticeable difference but you have to publish to a folder first, run the optimizer and then upload your files to .Mac or your server by FTP.
The application that I use for this optimizes and uploads. It also optimizes JPEGS. Look here...
    http://www.tonbrand.nl/
Although I do use .Mac for testing, I then upload to a commercial hosting service for speed and reliability. I use this hosting service...
    http://www.hostexcellence.com/index.php/v2/pages.dspmain
I have just rebuilt my personal site in iWeb '08 and it is at.....
    http://web.mac.com/roddymckay/RoddyMcKay/PlanetRoddy.html on .Mac and...
    http://roddymckay.com/PlanetRoddy.html on Host Excellence.
This will give you a comparison of an unoptimized versus optimized site - and the chance to spot all my mistakes!

  • Web pages loading EXTREMELY slow

It takes FOREVER for any web page to load (we're talking like several minutes even to load Google search), but it shows I have full signal strength. However, my husband's MacBook is functioning fine as well as his PC which all use the same network. I have an AirPort and AirPort extreme. I've even tried directly connecting to the AirPort extreme to see if that would help the speed problem, and it did--but only for a few minutes. After that, it displayed the same problems as before--MIND-BENDINGLY SLOW page load. I've cleared the cache, history, renew DHCP, reset the router... everything I can think of and still to no avail.
This all started happening after I was using my MacBook to connect my XBox360 to the internet and had to change some of the MacBook settings. I have since restored all the settings and turned off Internet Sharing.
I took it to the Genius Bar, twice, and they said it has to be my network, because it connects and loads pages at lightning speeds when I'm on the Apple Store network. Ugh. This is sooo frustrating and has basically rendered my mac useless.
    Ideas?

Here are a couple things you can try:
    1) If possible, bypass your router, and connect directly to your cable/dsl modem.
    2) Try a different DNS (domain name server). This can resolve the problem if the slowness stems from looking up (i.e. "contacting") the web server. You are probably currently using the DNS of your ISP. Since your husband is not experiencing the problem, this might be a stretch, but still worth a shot. You can try OpenDNS (https://www.opendns.com/start/)

  • News pages load too large

When I open Newser, Daily Beast or Huffington the sites load too large to fit my screen. I have used Ctr+ 0, zoom ctr+0, _ and + keys, and ctr+mouse wheel, etc. They all work to reduce the page to the correct size.
However, when I next boot up these same sites they once again load too large.
How can I save or permanetly access these sites properly?

  • Web pages loading unusually slow. Load fine in alt browser

Web pages on numerous sites very slow to load. Even coming to Firefox to report. Including some pages coming up error as if there is no connection. I tried alternative browser and the pages load fine. I could have stayed on that browser but ff has always been my goto.
    I have a nexus 7 (suppose I should say 1st gen now) running 4.3.

There are some problems with the new Android version (4.3), they should be fixed very soon (12-24 weeks), there is a solution, use firefox nightly, the superbeta version of firefox 26.
    DOWNLOAD FROM: nightly.mozilla.org
    Does the nightly work better?

  • Boot and page load very slow after 2nd HD install

    Good morning.
I recently added a second slave HD (80 GB with a OS X partition) to my beige G3 MT. I am using the original 9 GB drive as the boot drive. Northing else was changed.
Since that time, the boot time has increased significantly (2-3X pre 2nd drive).
Also, page load times have been increased with the Norton AntiVirus symbol being displayed.
    1. What's causing the slow boot? Is the CPU looking at the new drive and applying Norton before the original boot drive?
    2. Are there settings in Norton that might help?
    3. Is it even worth continuing Norton use for this OS 9.1 machine?
    Thanks for your time!

Hi, Bruce. NAV is probably scanning the entire new drive at startup, thus accounting for the major startup slowdown. And no, there's no good reason to have NAV installed at all. Your Mac doesn't need antivirus protection.

  • WRT350n Firmware Update 1.03.7 - Web page load really slow after update

Well I updated my WRT350N with the new firmware, but now web pages load very slowly, and streaming video is even slower. Before the update it was blazing fast. I run a mixed network of wireless N and G. Both Wireless N connections connect at 200 or higher Mbps now, which is a great improvement.
Anybody got any ideas why web pages and steaming video run so slow now.
Also downloading files never goes above 30 kb/sec now.
I use comcast cable and downloads were so fast before.
    Thanks in advance.

check the download speed and the streaming video when the computer is directly connected to the modem
