Pages 5.1 no template foulders

I just downloaded the new Pages application to my i-mac and looked to my custom templates that, in the old Pages, were saved in foulders in, library, application support, iWorks, templates. Now, in the new Pages, all of my custome templates are found under My Templates but they are no longer in foulders and are just listed alphabetically. I need organize these templates and put my custom templates back in foulders. Can you help? Thank you.- Tom

I followed your instructions and was able to save a template to a foulder on the desktop. However, the template on in the desktop foulder only opens after it is saved to the chooser, and that means giving a new name to the template in the chooser. This seem to be a needless circle, a duplication of effort and a problem the new Pages 5.1. Perhaps it will be corrected in the future. Thank you for your response - RI531

Try using <xsl:attribute name="break-before">page</xsl:attribute> within a form field instead of using the split-by-page-break.
You can also use this <xsl:attribute name="break-after">page</xsl:attribute> depending on your requirement..

Error Copying pages based on a template

I get the following error while copying pages based on a template. The template also contains a top horizontal navigation bar (portlet), a footer (portlet) and one item (portal smart text - Current Page). I'm using Portal 9iAs Rel 2 on win2000.

An unexpected error occurred: User-Defined Exception (WWC-44088)
This region was not found. (WWC-44089)

If I delete all the portlets and items from the template I'm able to make copies of the page.
Has anyone else faced a similar problem? Please let me know if anyone has a solution.

We've seen this problem on pages imported from another site. Please report this problem to Oracle Tech Support.

Issue in Dreamweaver PHP pages from the PHP template

I am learning to develop and publish a web catalog with a shopping cart feature attached. I am using PHP and MySQL as the tools to build this data driven website. However after creating the catalog list within the PHP template and needing the list as the menu within the sidebar of the webpages, the catalog list shows in the PHP template in Dreamweaver. But once I try to create a sub page from the PHP template, the list and all the contents does not show in the preview. After much checks, there is a issue with the sidebar class of the div, the issue is that a message shows that "Any content that does not fit in a fixed-width or -height box causes the box to expand to fit the content rather than letting the content overflow." I have tried to put the overflow:auto or overflow:hidden but to no success. How can get the catalog list to show without manually entering the over 50 categories that is already entered in the MySQL database? The template uses the 2 column fixed, sidebar, header and footer layout.

I am updating a site and want to make sure that I place my meta tags correctly in individual pages created from a template. Can you tell me if my placement is correct?

Second, adding these meta tags actually did help the ranking of this company. They were not listed before I did this on their old site. They were on page 1 of their category hours after I did this for them.
I think it's just coincidence. However, for sure it wasn't the keywords that did that, since those are just ignored (the meta keywords contents, not the meta description contents).
what are the search engines looking for? I want to make sure to design with those things in mind.
They are looking for semantic content on the page. That means the contents of tags like <title>, <h1>, <h2>, <h3>. That also means (derived) keywords contained in content 'above the fold', and in filenames, in links, in title and alt attributes. In other words, search engines want to rank your pages based on *real* meaning of the contents of the page, not on some arbitrary listing of keywords that you place in a meta keyword tag.
Search engines also pay lots of attention to INCOMING links from other well ranked sites....

Creating multi-page document with multiple templates

Hi,
I am new to Pages and am attempting to create a photo book that I can export as a PDF and have printed through an online service. I have successfully created multiple templates in Pages that I want to use in my book, but cannot figure out how to create a new page based on an existing template. If I select "New" or "New from Template Chooser" I end up with a brand new document, not a new page in my existing document. If I select Insert --> Pages, I am only given the choice to insert a Text or a Blank page. How do I insert a new page based on a template? Or, how do I apply a template to a blank page?

Okay, I have figured out a way to accomplish my goal. I have my master Pages document that I am adding pages to by:
1. File --> "New from Template Chooser"
2. Selecting my template
3. A new document is opened
4. I add my photo and custom text
5. Copy the new page from the Pages area in the left nav
6. Paste the new page back into my master document
This works, although is a bit cumbersome. Would much prefer to be able to simply add a page in my master based on an existing template, but I still don't see how to do that...

How do I create a master page when using Project7 templates?

Hi,
I am using P7 templates to easily create a nice website. However, I would like to create for example the main menu only once and have it re-used on every page or at least every page I want to. I think this is a called a masterpage (?) where you can tag parts to be re-used on other pages.
Can somebody please tell me where I can find support, examples, tutorials on this? Or can somebody tell me how to do this in a P7 template?

You want to save your project page as a DW Template from which your other site pages will be spawned. Or, you want to use Server-Side Includes (SSIs).

Why do links in the template change location to 'file:///'...on the pages created from the template?

Im not sure what I am doing wrong but I am building a portfolio site from a template that I downloaded online.
The site is working and I am slowly converting it from the template content to the content that I want.
As I will be editing the site and adding more pages I decided to try and add the Header, footer and main navigation bar as a template with another gallery container and navigation as an option on the template.
I thought that it was working fine untill I noticed that the links on the pages created using the template are showing as follows,
instead of the links that were in the template that show as,
Is this something that will change when I upload the site with the template or have I done something wrong making the links?

Usually this happens when you don't use a proper Site Definition, or if you have files outside your defined site folder.

Can't add spry widget to page created from dreamweaver template

Please help! I have created a template in Dreamweaver and
from that template I have created an html page. I want to add
different tabbed and/or accordion spry widgets to multiple pages
however I keep getting an error when I try to add a widget to an
editable region. I can add the widgets to the dwt file, but I do
not want the same widget on all pages created from that template.
Please advise!

If that's all that's on the child page you are in trouble.
Anyhow, it appears to me that the template has not been
properly created
since I do not also see an editable region around the
<title> tag in your

Use XMLP to pull only specific pages from larger PDF template?

We need to be able to pull specific pages or a range of pages out of a larger template to use to merge data into and return to users or the selected delivery method. I've seen a lot of information about how to add page numbers to PDF templates / documents, but nothing about how I can pull out specific pages. We know this can be done using iText or some other technology, but does anyone know if this can be done using XML Publisher at all? This is a big issue for us and could determine whether we end up using XMLP at all or go with something else. Any info would be helpful.

Using C# or javascript to authenticate the user to AD to read the property directly will be very difficult. Creating a custom user profile property and adding a sync from AD to that property is definitely the easiest way to do what you are describing.
Once its in User Profiles there are lots of samples on how to add it to the page.

CSS won't display on DW page files to which template is applied

CSS links fine to template, but when applying template to page, styles won't display even though path to CSS file is correct in template.
When file is uploaded to server it links just fine to CSS and styles display online as they should.

But I cannot see page as styled when working on files.
This is very annoying as I cannot see what final output will be when laying out my pages because styles won't display in page files, only in template file.

template is fixed we it can't be expand . u can better to use table line it can automaticlly expending if data is more ... u can create one more page like page 2 and create a window for entire second page ..then assign it in first page (next page page2).
