Pages document doesn't propagate in iCloud

Hello,
I place a Pages document in iCloud (in the Pages application on my Mac, using 10.8.2), and it just won't propagate to my iPad (iOS 6).
I have other documents there and it works so so (like iCloud usually does), but this one just won't move from my Mac.
My internet connection is working flawlessly, iCloud is set-up everywhere, it's worked in the past.
Why is this document stuck at "Waiting"?
Loa

Hello,
From other apps, you mean? Did not check at the time. I'll make a new note on my Mac the next time I run into this problem to check.
The Wi-Fi connectionwas working though, that I checked.

  • Synchronise pages documents between my MacBook and icloud

Any ideas why iCloud doesn't automatically synchronise my Pages documents on my MacBook Pro like it does with my iPad and iPhone?

You have to drag the files to the iCloud site; it's been rumoured that Mountain Lion, due out in the summer, will provide direct syncing of iWork documents.

  • Pages Documents created on iPad or iCloud will not open in iWork Pages on Macbook

I recently purchased the iPad Air and installed the latest version of Pages on it to share and create documents in Pages over iCloud between my devices. Before, I never had any issue creating a Pages document, say on a Windows OS at work, and then opening it up on my Macbook Pro in the latest version of Pages (5.0). Now when I attempt to open a Pages document created or edited on my iPad or through a browser using iCloud, it will give this message on my Macbook:
"You need a newer version of Pages to open this document. You can download the latest version of Pages from the Mac App Store."
I have repeatedly checked and all software is up to date. I have also attempted turning iCloud off and on again on both devices. One of the biggest reasons I bought the iPad was to have my documents on the go, but if I can't edit them later on my laptop, what's the point? Any ideas?

    Jeff,
In the few moments after answering your first reply, I double-checked the Mac App Store and it revealed an update for Pages 5.1 -- Issue Resolved! I guess it was just cranky software today. Thanks for your patience.

  • How do I get my Pages documents to my iMac via iCloud?

So I successfully updated my iPhone 4, iPad2 and my iMac. My iPad and iPhone sync flawlessly via the cloud. I need to know how to get those same Pages documents to sync with the iMac via the cloud.
    Anyone?
    Thanks

"documents in the cloud" is limited to the iOS versions of iwork in its current form.
Put simply : iwork for OSX has no iCloud support.
You can manually open Safari, go to www.icloud.com , log in with your Apple-ID and download the files from the iwork section to your Mac's download folder.
    Yes it *****, we know.

  • Can a Pages document be shared with two iCloud accounts?

Is there any way that a Pages document could be shared automatically between two
    different iCloud accounts?
iCloud gets my documents to all of the devices with my iCloud id.
Now I need to share it with someone with a different iCloud id.
    Thanks.

You should each use your own icloud accounts, not the same one.  You can share calendars, and you can each the other account as a secondary account.
You can set up a secondary iCloud account in system preferences > mail, contacts and calendars, click to add a new account, choose iCloud, click the 'create ID' button.

  • Pages document will not upload to iCloud?  Arrow is shown in upper left of document icon.

I have page documents showing an arrow in the upper left coner of the document icon, but they never have uploaded to iCloud.  What am I missing?

If you are able to move the document to your desktop on your Mac, you should do so. Then delete all references to that document in the iCloud on your mobile devices, at iCloud.com and if necessary from system preferences> iCloud> manage.
Once you are sure it has been removed from all locations, try adding it back using a slightly different filename, from your desktop.

  • My pages documents won't restore from iCloud, how to fix?

I recently did a hard reset of my iPad 2, i thought it would fix a problem that proved to be a hardware problem, rater then a software problem. I got (almost) everything back from iCloud, exept for my document in apple programs (pages, numbers and keynote) i am going to talk about pages, as it is the same in all 3 apps.
When i open pages i see my old documents, but they are black icons with a pen and ink. I have tried to restore from settings, but everytime i switch on the restore option and open pages, nothing happens and the restore button is put back to off.
I don't want to reinstall pages, as i get a message saying that i will lose my files if i delete (something about the documents not being updated)
I use pages quite alot, and the documents are important to me. Can i fix it? If yes then how.

    Brian...
On the iPad tap Settings > iCloud
Switch Documents & Data off then back on then reset your iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Pages documents not showing up in iCloud

    Hello,
I'm having a problem with my iPage documents and iCloud. If I add or create a document on one device (iMac, iPad or iPhone), it does not show up on any of the other devices. I have the iCloud document settings turned on for all three, logged in and out of iCloud, but nothing works yet. I have 10.8.2 on my iMac and 6.0.2 on both my iPad (2) and iPhone (5). Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm in the same boat... iCloud shows some of my saved documents, but won't let me open or access them, while other folders or documents aren't showing up at all on some devices...

  • Why are my iCloud Pages documents showing as "zero bytes" in Pages on my MacBookPro?

Many of my Pages documents that are stored in iCloud can not be opened in Pages on my MacBookPro.  They show "zero bytes".  Is there something I can do to have them showing their full size and be accessible from Pages on my MacBookPro?

I realize it's probably an imponderable question and I could do the dragging thing from iWork in iCloud to iWork.com Beta and vice versa. It doesn't really seem right, or even Apple-like, that Numbers on my iPad saves to the ICloud iWork and Numbers on my iMac, MacBook and MacBook Pro saves their documents to iWork.com. Why the heck aren't they saved to the same iWork? This should work more smoothly if they want people to use the iOS device to it's fullest extent.
So, there's no way around it. At some point I'll have to pick one of the iWorks to work on the documents from. I guess it would have to be the iCloud iWork since the iOS Numbers can't get to the iWork.com iWork? And I'll have to save the Numbers docs on the Macs and then drag them to the iCloud iWork? Brilliant! Same for Pages?

  • How do I retrieve Pages documents from iCloud?

My Pages documents are backed up on iCloud.  I deleted a doc from my iPad and can see it listed in Settings on the Cloud, but can't download it back onto the iPad.  How do I do this?

Open the Pages app on your iPad.  You will see all the documents from iCloud on the first screen that appears.

  • I deleted a pages document from iCloud.  how do I get it back?

How do I recover a pages document that was deleted from icloud?  I don't see a 'trash' folder. I was over eager in deleting my icloud documents to comply with storage.

There is no trash folder on icloud.  On the mac, copies of icloud files are stored in the following folder(s)
    ~/Library/Mobile Documents
Note that Library in the user's home folder is now hidden, so you'll have to set Finder to view hidden files.
The Mobile Documents folder has subfolders where copies of the doc/data files are stored.
Now use Time Machine to find versions of the missing file(s).

  • ICloud Pages sync - where Pages documents end up on my Mac?

I'm relieved that all my Pages documents seem to still be on my iPad after the ios5 upgrade. And that the most recent ones are showing up in "recent" in Pages on my Mac.
And I'd appreciate knowing where the sync process will put any new documents that I create? And whether / how I can control where these get filed on my Mac (e.g., in Finder).
    Thank you.
    Glenda

If you sign up for a free iCloud account - your Pages documents will sync to that iCloud account - after you get everything set up. It does it automatically.
As far as the Mac - you could use the iCloud account to download those documents to your Mac, you can still use DropBox, or SugarSync cloud services or you can use file sharing - a feature of the iOS that has been available since version 4 I believe. If you use file sharing, you must connect your iPad to your computer - like we did in the good old days.
You can read this about file sharing.

  • Transferring pages document from iMac to iCloud causing layout issues.

    Hi,
I recently transferred a Pages document from my iMac to iCloud's pages (beta).
In doing so, the iCloud version of pages completely scrambled the document's layout.
    Below is an example:
Is there a way of avoiding this in the future?
I still have the original document on my iMac, so I am able to re-upload the document to iCloud pages.
    Thanks.

Do you know of any other ways to view a document without the pages app? It would be nice to type up something on my mac and be able to see it later on my phone (shopping lists, etc).
    Thanks!

  • Pages documents very slow to download from icloud

Purchased a new MacBook Pro. Now some Pages documents have stalled downloading from iCloud.
How do I restart the downloads?

Resolved!  Disabled BT Home Hub as wireless. Removed Devolo wireless plugs from house. Removed TP link powerline adapters (Apple TV was connected to ethernet). Set Time Capsule as the only wireless point in the house. Interestingly, if you have more than 1 access point in the house, BT Home Hub can get a little confused - so removing its wireless capability via the admin function via advanced settings basically set Time Capsule as only access point in the house). Changed DNS on Windows 7 machine to Open DNS.....(FYI, outside of US & Canada, Google DNS is pretty much useless and won't speed up your download speeds on Apple TV).  Restored Apple TV to factory settings and started again. Downloads from iCloud almost instant; downloads from shared computer almost instant; streaming from YouTube and Netflix almost instant. Happy days....

  • Pages documents not displaying on ipad from mac

I'm trying to sync my pages documents between my mac and my ipad.  I have verified that the icloud accounts on both are the same visually via prefs > icloud, on the mac, and via settings > icloud, on the ipad.  While here I opserved that I had 4.99 GB of storage in icloud and that both devices were set up to sync everything from contacts down to documents and data.  I then tested this by creating new notes from both devices and seeing if they synced to the opposite device.  However, when I tried this with pages documents they are saved to icloud and can be viewed in my icloud account on my mac but none of them appear on my ipad.  The only thing that I can guess is that the ios pages isn't cooperating with it's counterpart because the ios version was purchased under a different apple id.

I finally broke down and rebought ios pages under the current apple id. Problem resolved
