Pages numbers paiste problem

Unlike prior versions of Pages and Numbers when paisting Numbers cells into 5.01 Pages the cells loose formating requiring manual expansion. Cells only paist into 1 page then disapear disregarding page breaks. This problem has rendered both applications unusable for my contract preperation.

Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5, and similarly many from Numbers 4.

Pages/Numbers '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5/Numbers 4, after Exporting your files to older versions or Word or Excel, and rate/review them in the App Store, then get back to work.

How can I fix my page numbering problem?

I am creating a catalog in InDesign. Master pages were set up so the left and right pages had the page numbers in the lower outside corners.
Today I moved some pages around, and as a result the left side pages are now right side, and vice versa.
The problem I am facing is that on some of the pages, the page number is now in the inside corner, and on some of the pages, the page numbers are on both the inside and outside corners. The numbering is correct, but the positions are wrong.
I tried:
1. Overwriting all master page items for the page, then trying to delete or move the page number, but there is a faint yellow box around the number and it cannot be deleted or removed.
2. Applying the correct master page to the page I am trying to fix; this works in some cases, but in others it just places the new text boxes on top of the old ones.
Any help would be appreciated! I am using CS6 on a Mac. My master pages include a text box at the top, a blank box to show the page with bleed, and a page number indicator.

After I resist the temptation to ask why you're transcoding to ProRes in mid-stream, all I can come up with is:

You could batch the source clips in Compressor and start over

Try smaller batches

Trash your prefs, repair permissions, and try again

Problem with opening/saving files in Pages/Numbers/Keynote

Hello, First of all: sorry for my bad english.
I had this problem already several months ago and already contact with the Apple hotline.
The only thing that was said then and was helped "new user account" - well done.
But:
I can not do this every 3 months.
The problem: I can not open a Pages / Numbers / Keynote files anymore.
From iCloud / iCloud Drive it goes, locally stored open still.
I'll get the error: "File can not be opened."
Newly created files I can not save - no matter which hard disk - it will show "missing access rights"
Of course, I've already deleted preferences, reset NV-RAM and repaired permissions (access rights) - via terminal "reset password" also.
Anyone here knows this problem and knows a solution?

It occurred in connection with my scripture library „Font Explorer X Pro“.

ID CS5 - problem with 2 page numbers in the same page

Until InDesign CS3 I could put 2 page numbers in one page, either in document pages or in master pages, using 2 linked text frames, one in each of the pages I wanted to see the numbers. And this worked fine!
In CS4, this stopped working in master pages. I had to override the text frames from master pages (ctrl/cmd + shift click on the text frames) to get this working, and I had to this in ALL document pages.
I was hoping this problem was solved in CS5 but... the problem got worst!!! Now, not only I have to override the text frames, but I have to erase the markers and put them there again. Which means I have to put page markers individually in ALL pages.
I wonder if there is a new way to do this? Does any one have the answer?...
If not... I really really hope someone from Adobe reads this forum and try to solve the problem, because this is a great inconvenience...

It is a bug since CS4, agravated in CS5, because until CS3 it worked very well.
In fact, it worked through out a lot of pages. I think this was not created only to pages side-by-side but in fact to those articles that continued several pages ahead. So, in a magazine, when one has to break an article and continue this article in other page, one could (and still can) put a text frame in the of the first part of the article and type "Continue on [next page marker]". Then link this text frame with a new text frame on the page where the article continues, (on top of 2nd part of the article) and type "Continued from [previous page marker]".
This situation – where text frames are in the document pages – still works fine.
The problem is when this is a constant and you want to put it in master pages, and now it simply does't work. I mean, when every odd or even pages have both numbers. For me, it's a major problem, because several of my clients just love this!
Is anyone of Adobe reading this? Are you going to help us and fix this problem, please?...

Problem in resetting the Page numbers

I am using to print PO report using XML publisher.
The layout that is needed is
Header
---- It cointains page number x of y ,po number,po creation date,and other details.
Body
---- It cointains po lines and po headers data.
end body
After the body ends we need to print Service note in a seperate page.But this service note should not have header and the pages of the service note will not be included in total pages of the PO.
If the PO is 10 pages and service note 2 pages then the total page of PO should be 10.
This is for one PO.We have to print many number of POs in a single request.
Presently the problem is that for resetting the page numbers of service note I am using a section break after the end of body.What it does is it reset the page number.But the problem is first all the POs are displayed then its service note.But I need one PO and then its service note .Then the second PO and its service note.

I have used the following method to call the template based on IF condition as follows:
The way I expected the outcome is:
if the COPY_ORIGINAL variable's value is '(Copy)' then it shoud print once the template with a label '(Copy)' in it.
else
if the COPY_ORIGINAL variable's value is '' (empty) then it should print 4 times the template, with different labels as: 'Original' , 'Accounts Copy', 'FP Store Copy' and 'Gate Copy'

In this case, it won't call the template TC1 and reset the page numbers, instead it prints the page numbers continuously.. (no resetting of page numbers)

Problem with page numbering in Acrobat XI Pro

I got a problem with page numbering with certain documents in Acrobat XI Pro.
The next error comes up:

This is occured with certain pdf-documents (i cannot uploading this file).
Is someone have similar problem, or has someone hev a sollution for this?

This usually means the file is corrupt, probably because it was not created
using a standard application like Adobe Acrobat.

Problem in printing SAP Script Page Numbering

Am facing a problem like : Page Numbering in one of my form is getting printed from 0 (I mean initializing from 0).
Eg : Page 000 of 003
       Page 001 of 003
       Page 002 of 003
I want to get printed as :
      Page 001 of 003
       Page 002 of 003
       Page 003 of 003

Hi,
You can solve this problem by setting the page counter mode to "start" and the numbering type as "Arabic", in the page attributes.

Section/Page numbers problems

I have a document which I want the page numbering to start on the second page, ie. there is a title page which has no number, and then the second page has number one.
Reading through other posts about this, I have found that I have to add a section break in order to make this work, between the title page (1) and the real first page (2). But the problem is whenever I add a section break, it creates an entire blank page for the section break, so I end up with title page, blank page, real first page. Even if I have enough space, etc... every time I create a new section I get a blank page which I cannot type on or use, without deleting the section break and putting me back to square one.
Does a section break always do this (add a new blank unuseable page)?
Please, what can I do?
(required end of post rant: I switched from MsWord thinking pages would be so much more simple... but really, WHAT THE....? Just have it be a simple thing somewhere that allows the page (or section) to start at "0")

My guess is that an object is embedded in your title page which fools the tool cuttting the document in pages because on my machine, it works flawlessly.
You may activate the "Show Invisibles" function which may help to find if there is an odd character embedded.

NO, here it doesn't
Just have it be a simple thing somewhere that allows the page (or section) to start at "0")
It would not solve the problem because it would display the number 0 on the first page which is not what you want.
It would not solve the problem for those wanting a numbering starting on page 3 (or on page 4 …)

Mountain Lion problems with Mail Signatures, Pages, Numbers, Keynote - This quick fix solved all my problems with these. Pages etc wouldn't launch and needed to be force quitted. Mail signature changes wouldn't save.

The solution was simple in my case. I don't know why it worked and it may have been entirely coincidental but its worth a try.
Close all applications and restart Mountain Lion.
Log in as Guest. I opened Pages at this point but I don't know if that's required.
Log out and then back in as your normal user.
Pages, Numbers and Keynote now were fine for me and Mail signature changes were saved and available for later use.
For those trying to edit the signatures to get their old ones back - I just found an old sent mail and copied the signature there into the newly created one via the normal preferences. No need for opening .mailsignature files and editing them. This included various colours, sizes, an image and a link with no problems.
I hope this helps anyone having some of these problems.

Help!!!! Urgent Framemaker page numbering problem

Hi there,
I have to make a last minute update to this old project that we have in Framemaker. I've never really used it before so I'm clueless!!
Problem is I have a book, it consists of several chapters, each of which seems to have a .fm extension.
I need to build a pdf and for the page numbers in it to flow from chapter to chapter. Problem I'm having right now is that chapter 1 ends on page 10 and chapter 2 begins on page 13!
This wouldn't be so bad if it even inserted a couple of blank pages in the pdf, but it doesn't so the number goes out of synch!
In the main page area where it lists all the .fm files, I've right-clicked on chapter 2, selected Numbering and selected Continue Numbering from Previous File in Book, then pressed Set. This doesn't make a different though!!
Also chapter 2 ends on page 18 and chapter 3 begins on page 21 so something isn't right.
I need to get this document finished today, if anybody could pls help it would be really really appreciated!

OK, first the theory: The book file is critical. It is a container that holds and controls the formatting of the chapter files.
If you open the component files outside the book, they'll contain page number that may be inaccurate because you're working outside the book environment.
So first, confirm the problem: In the book file, click the update icon. You'll have a dialog bos that asks if you want to regenerate the TOC and any other generated files. Click yes.
THEN, open the chapter file(s) to check the page numbering. I suspect that either the chapters have an intervening into page OR they have pagination set to open on a right side page and a blank page or two is being generated to force that -- and either problem can make the numbering appear as you've described it.
Check back in at this point and let us know what it looks like....

Word to PDF - Page Numbering Problems

When I use the combine files tool in Acrobat 8 for PDFing word documents instead of the page numbering being 1/3, 2/3, 3/3, it comes out as 1/1, 2/2, 3/3. I've tried looking at all the settings and cant find a logical reason for this. It also happens when I print to PDF while in Word.
Has anyone else experienced this same problem?

Problem printing page numbers in black and white

Using Pagemaker 7.0 and creating a PDF file that I send to a printer. The interior pages of this newsletter get printed in black and white. The page numbers do not show up in the black page number background oval. The printer says that that is because the two colors used for the page number and the oval background both get converted to the same gray scale value. He suggested that I set the page number to white and the background to black. Is there any way to set the colors that are used for the page number and the background?

You should make sure that anything on your interior pages is black and white, never trust someone else to convert things to B&W for you. If you are using a master page for the page numbers, that should be black and white too. You can have two master pages, one for color page numbers and one for black and white page numbers.

ID CC 2014 problem with page numbering book

I have 9 documents in this book, introduction, chapters 1 through 7, and endnotes. I have section numbering selected in all documents. I have the Book Page Numbering Options set to continue from previous document. Also in the Book Page Numbering Options I have "Automatically Update Page & Section Numbers" selected. Each document is based on the same template. The book starts renumbering pages at chapter 2. I can't figure out what is wrong or how to fix it. Could this be a bug in 2014?

I figured it out. Duh. I didn't have Automatic Page Numbering selected in the Numbering and Section Options of that particular file. That's what I like about ID. There's always a reason when things go wrong.

Page numbering in rtf templates

Hi All,
I have an rtf template and what I want is to display page numbers. I can achieve this with the following : <?fo:page-number?> but I want to display it by different way:
For example if the total pages in the output is 10 pages I want the page number to be displayed as Page 1 of 10, 2 of 10, 3 of 10 etc.
Any ideas?

Well, it's fixed itself. It still doesn't work on my home computer, but it does work on my work computer... as long as it works in Oracle eBus I'm happy :) Must be a certain version of word that causes the problem.
