Palm Desktop Palm T/X sync issues

I'm new to the board but I need help.  I have T/X that I have used for awhile.  Upgraded my PC to windows7 Bit, do not use Outlook as my desktop PIM but Chaos Intellect.  I sync Intellect to Palm desktop with companionlink, the sync Palm desktop to my T/X using a Bluetooth device.  It worked several times but now when I sync the address book and date book in Palm desktop won't sync to the T/X.  When I look at the application conduits the address book and date book are not listed.  I'm not sure what happened or how to correct it.?? I'm using verision 6.2 if the Desktop.

Have you found any resolution to your Palm TX synchronization problem?  I also have had a problem with synching the TX. I just posted the question.

  • PALM T/X SYNC ISSUES/UNABLE TO VIEW CONTENT

I like the PALM PDAs but have had nagging issues with hotsyncs and compatability with VISTA.   I just ran into a problem that is stumping me.   Up until 2 weeks ago I would do a cable hot sync between my PC and the TX.  I could then go in and enter data in either the Palm or the PC.  Now I can't see the calendar or contacts when I go into the program on my PC.   All I can see are some pictures I loaded.  Does anyone have any idea what happened?    I like the PALM PDAs and was interested in the PALM PRE smartphone but I hesitate in getting anything else "PALM" due to issues such as what I mentioned and because I don't think that PALM supports their products very well.

If you read the first post in that thread it states that the OS will work on ANY carrier's 8320.  I have a TMobile and have used OS's from many different carriers.  The branding is removed when you delete the vendor.xml file as directed.  That's a stable OS and it will work exactly the same as an OS released from your carrier.

  • Palm Desktop Crash - unable to sync with handheld PalmOne Tungsten E2

Hello, this may have been addressed before, but I am not sure.  A couple weeks ago I was in Palm Desktop when it just froze.  Once I got out of it, I found that about 99% of my calendar datebook had been lost.  I have tried to sync it again with my handheld Tungsten E2 to try to reinstall my info from handheld to desktop - but it just gets stuck on syncing the datebook.  I had a computer geek look at it and he was unable to help me.  I guess I could live without my former appointments and re-enter my future ones, but I can't sync anymore, it keeps hanging up at datebook.  Any suggestions?  I really appreciate your thoughts.....BTW I have a MAC with Vista installed through Bootcamp.

    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

    Hi,
Basically, the sync will stuck at Datebook when there are some corrupted Calender events on Palm device.
We have 2 options to fix this issue.
    1) Hard Reset.
    2) Use DbScan application to remove the corrupted calender events on Palm.
As many wouldn't like to do the hard reset as sometimes all the Calender events would be on Palm.
    Hence, I suggest DbScan.
It's easy to fix the issue.
First we have to set the DateBook to Do Nothing in the HotSync Manager window.
To get to the HotSync Manager window follow the below steps:
Right click on the HotSync Manager in the Windows System Tray(on the lower right corner of your computer) and click on Settings.
This will open the HotSync Manager window.
    And then click on Applications.
Make sure you select the correct sync user name in the HotSync Manager window at the top center.
    Double click on Datebook.
    check the box "Do Nothing"
And click on OK and Done button.
Now install the dbScan software from the below link.
    http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&PartnerREF=&siteid=1&prodID=2351
Download the software with Guest user name.
Double click the dbScan.prc file it will goes to Install Tool.
    Peform the sync.
This will install DBScan application on Palm.
Then, follow the below steps on your Palm device.
1.Tap on Dbscan application on the device.
If you see any message saying, it's an older version and you need to install a new version. Please ignore the message and go to next step.
    2. Choose the option other.
3.Press the menu button on the device.
4.From the options menu choose "Remove all the deleted records"
5.Now choose the option "Palm source".
6.From the options menu  again choose "Remove all the deleted records"
7.Now choose the option "Palm one".
    8. From the options menu choose "Calender DB Blob check".
    9.Tap on "Yes to all"
    10. Try performing HotSync now.
This will fix the Datebook sync issue.

  • Palm Treo 700wx sync with Palm Desktop

Newbie here, so please excuse if this is already in here somewhere!  I've been using Palm Desktop (v4.0.1) syncing with a Sony handheld device (Clie).  The Clie died, and I purchased a used Palm Treo 700wx (Sprint) for both cell phone use and as a PDA.  Darn if I can find anywhere how to sync the Palm Desktop with the Treo 700wx.  Am I missing something somewhere?
Post relates to: Treo 700wx (Sprint)

Hello melemiller and welcome to the Palm forums.
The Treo 700wx, running the Windows Mobile operating system, can only sync to Microsoft Outlook.  You will need export the data out of the Sony edition of Palm Desktop and import it into Outlook and then install the Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 software on your computer to sync the Treo to Outlook.  If you are using Windows Vista, you need to use the Windows Mobile Device Center that is included as part of Vista to sync with Outlook.

  • Looking for update on Palm 5.2.1 sync issues

Wondering what the offical word is on the Palm OS 5.2.1 sync issue? Is there an ETA for the upgraded conduit?

however we will only look into supporting the new
Palm features (i.e. location, URL, birthday, address,
etc.) in a subsequent release.Quite disapointing. Both Oracle Calendar and Palm are only
interesting if they work closely together and mutally
    support all features.
Another feature I would very much like to have is
    network synchronization directly with
the server and not passing via this little executable
    on the PC.
This would make Ocal/Palm support independent from the
OS. (I use vmware to just run this executable, a lot of
    waste of resources.)

  • Bluetooth technology: Palm (syncing issue) - Keyboard - Mouse

I have a palm TX (Garnet 5.0) which I had set up to sync via bluetooth through the hotsync application which accompanied the pda. It worked fine. Then I got a wireless Apple bluetooth keyboard and mighty mouse. After the set up of these two devices I could no longer wirelessly sync my palm (or could sync on a very hit or miss basis and then it most likely fails mid sync). Any ideas to try?

Same here unfortunately. Bluetooth mouse was working ok, until this most recent Bluetooth patch that I installed (which I hoped would fix some lesser Bluetooth flakiness), but now things actually got worse!
While the Bluetooth icon indicates the mouse is attached, I actually have to disconnect and connect it to get it to work when I unsleep my MacBook.
It also sometimes stops working... apparently when I some web pages?!

  • Entourage 2008/Leopard/iSync/Palm Treo/Missing Sync

I have been over all the "boards" and everyone is having the same problem syncing Entourage 2008 or even iCal with their Palms.
I have been working at it for three days, and have come to the conclusion that I can get everything to sync to the Palm but cannot sync back. So the only work around is make all changes on the computer, and only use the Palm for the "walk around" reminder, and of course, the contact info.
Not even close to satisfactory, but the only solution at present.
Let me share what I did to clean up the mess.
    1. Wiped out all duplicate calendar entries in Entourage (took about five hours) and saved the database on a remote drive
    2. Wiped out anything to do with PalmOS in applications and library - do not wipe out anything in the Docs folder
    3. Unchecked the sync services in Entourage to the iStuff apps - rebooted, checked them again, and chose the overwrite from Entourage option
    4. within a few seconds, quite magically, iCal and Address Book were accurate again. Do NOT delete any of the calendars in iCal, and leave them all checked - I still don't know what they mean, or what the **** "unfiled" is, but leave it alone!
    5. Assuming you have "The Missing Sync", (this takes over entirely from PalmOS and HotSync Manager) only use the Mark/Space conduits - do NOT use any other contact, calendar, diary, date book, etc. Start off with contacts - select the "settings" - and choose Desktop overwrites handheld. It will work.
    6. then do the same for "Events" - this should work
    7. Then do the whole lot, but just the Mark/Space stuff, backup, any special software you have like AA Fligts, Zagat Guide, etc. etc.
    8. Test changing an event in iCal and see how quickly it changes in Entourage. Same with Address Book, and vice versa. But any changes on the Palm, (so far) have not appeared on Entourage - an alteration sometimes appears on iCal or Address Book, but does not get Synced to Entourage. Therefore, for safety, make all changes and additions on Entourage until a fix is produced.
Now, there's the rub. A fix. Entourage syncs fine both ways to iCal and Address Book. I don't see why I have to use Sync Services anyway - with Entourage 04 and prior, the Entourage conduit used Palm OS and totally bypassed Sync Services (which is always running, and slows down the computer)
Apple won't produce a fix, because they want us to buy an iPhone. Therefore, it's down to the people at Mark/Space to try and fix this issue. Don't know how they can, because it really looks like an iSync problem, - Missing Sync works back to iCal and Address, but not on to Entourage.
Maybe we need a totally new third party fix that syncs Entourage directly to Palm.

Entourage data has never synchronized directly with the Address Book and iCal.
Traditionally, as with Entourage X and Entourage 2004, Palm user alone could choose to synchronize Entourage data using the Microsoft-supplied Entourage conduit to the Palm Desktop using that conduit, or by using the Missing Sync for Palm OS and that conduit.
Later versions of Entourage 2004 provided for a means for all Entourage users to synchronize their date with the Sync Services framework, and therefore to the Address Book and iCal. Other compatible participants included the Missing Sync for Palm OS. iSync and the iSync Palm Conduit were involved only to the degree that Entourage data moved through the framework was thereupon synchronized to a Palm device using them. Users could bypass this process and continue to synchronize their Entourage data directly to a Palm handheld using the Entourage X or 2004 conduits, with this caveat: Entourage X users could not do so under Mac OS X 10.4.x from an intel processor-powered platform.
With the release of Entourage 2008, Microsoft no longer provides an Entourage conduit for Palm users. This is no fault of Apple, Mark/Space or Palm: it is a decision solely on the part of Microsoft.
The synchronization of Palm data for Mac OS 10.5 and later users is differentiated from this issue. A primary issue involved is an apparent incompatibility with iSync 3, another is a set of issues involving the synchronization engine in iCal, which was completely rewritten for iCal 3. Neither of these issues prevent a Palm user synchronizing with Entourage through the Sync Services framework using the Missing Sync for Palm OS. Those who would prefer to use a conduit to synchronize with Entourage 2008 are out of luck, as Microsoft no longer supplies a compatible one.
    The executive summary is this:
    • your specific issue has nothing at all to do with Apple
    • your option to synchronize a Palm device to Entourage using a conduit was eliminated by Microsoft, so…
    1. take your complaint to them (and, good luck with that…)
    2. contact Mark/Space to determine if they are willing to independently build an Entourage 2008 Palm conduit
I would be the first to say that Microsoft's implementation of synchronization through the framework was, and remains, rather clumsy. Again, this is an issue for Microsoft, not Apple, Mark/Space or Palm.
The Unfiled calendar in iCal is the single calendar to which, by default, all events created on a Palm device are synchronized. If you are using iSync, you can either use that calendar, or create another and delete the Unfiled calendar. I chose to name mine Palm events when I used iSync. Users of 'advanced' Palm devices with Palm OS 5.4 or later who choose to synchronize using the Missing Sync for Palm OS have their categorized events read from and written to the specific calendar for each category, and can delete the Unfiled calendar from iCal. Those users with an earlier release of the Palm OS—for example, OS 5.2 on a Treo 600—must continue to use the single Unfiled calendar or a substitute calendar into which all Palm device-created events are written. This requirement is the result of an issue with the Palm OS, and does not involve either Apple, Mark/Space or Microsoft.
Synchronization works bidirectionally IF you have properly configured your environment. Any and all additions, changes or deletions of data store components associated with any application, device or server in your pool, will reflect the same information—to the extent that such information is universally supported—after one or more synchronization events.

Do you have windows mobile device center installed(WMDC)? If not download it from here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device-center-download.mspx
Be sure you download the correct version for your PC. If you have 32bit OS or 64bit OS. To find this out, right click on Computer under start and select properties. Near the middle it should say 32bit or 64bit. If you know you have the correct software. Open up the control panel and go to sync settings. Right click on the partnership you have setup and select delete. On your device go to Start-->Programs-->Activesync-->Menu-->Options tap on Windows PC and select Delete. Then once both are done resetup your partnership. But this time uncheck everything. Then once it is done syncing. Go to Mobile device settings and change content sync settings and select Contact. Click save and let it sync. Do the same for calendar, tasks, and notes but leave the last item checked. So when Contacts are done syncing you go and check Calendar and leave Contacts

  • Palm no longer syncing

About a month ago, my Palm M505 stopped syncing with my G4 tower. At first I thought it was a problem with the syncing cradle being old, so I bought a new sync cable to test it. Behavior hasn't changed with the new cable, so now I'm thinking that I did some kind of update that has broken Palm syncing.
Here is the behavior I am seeing. I connect the Palm to the sync cradle/cable, which is already attached to the computer. I press the button on the cradle to start the sync. The Palm activates and starts the sync process, but the Hotsync Manager never comes up on my Mac.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    Doc

This question seems to have petered out without resolution, but I have another wrinkle. Since I got a new Intel Mac, my Tungsten E2 will sync with the cable sometimes but not always. I switch USB ports, start hotsync manager, restart the computer, etc. Last time it worked after ten minutes of fooling around; this time I can't get it to go at all. As others have said, the icon comes up fine on the Palm, but no icon appears.
Bluetooth doesn't work either but there is probably another question for that.

  • LR Desktop sync issues

I have sync issues with my LR Desktop since a couple of days: it did not sync 212 photos
I removed the sys.Ircat file as suggested on this site. When starting LR again, it starts syncing until the last 212. There it got stuck again.
I noticed that the last pictures are not being synced on the cloud as well.
    Anybody suggestions ?

    Hey Smith100,
Regarding your synchronization, do you have more than 1 calendar on the BlackBerry?
Also did your default calendar change lately?  To find this out do the following:
Open BlackBerry Desktop Software, attach the BlackBerry via USB.
Then click on Device at the top and click on Backup, all of the databases should appear.
Scroll down and you are looking for Calendar and Calendar All.  Do they both have the same number or are they off?

  • Sync Issue with Handmark Pocket Express

I have a newly purchased Treo 755p for Sprint preloaded with Handmark Pocket Express.  This seems to be a handy application; however, it is causing an annoying sync issue.  At each sync session, Express goes through all of its subjects syncing between handheld and PC.  I am not sure if it was already in my pc Palm Desktop software or it loaded from the Treo the first time I sync'd.  I have unchecked from the conduit setup on the Treo anything I can identify with Express but it still synchs and this take time.  I have no interest with it on the PC but do like it on the Treo.  I only want to continue to sync the calendar, contacts, memos, and tasks.  I like the Express on the Treo but as a last resort, would consider removing it from the Treo if that was the only option.  Would appreciate any help to stop the synch problem with Express.  If no solution, would appreciate guidance to remove the ap from the Treo.  I have a MAC with OS X 10.4, Palm Desktop v4.2.2, and Express v4.25.235.

Having similar problem.  PocketMac kept duplicating some, but not all, contacts.  I deleted all of them on the Curve, make a group in my Address Book called "Blackberry Friends" and synced to that only.  Worked great -- until I ran the sync again.  Now, I again have dulicates of some, but not all, contacts.  Seems like the same contacts get duplicated each time, but can't be absolutely positive.
In addition, in some cases, PocketMac deletes info from my Address Book.  Like home addresses, etc.  Also, it does not always sync all info that is in Address Book.  For instance, I have birthdays for most of my contacts.  Pocket Mac witll synd some of them, but not all.  I have used "two-way syncing" and "overwrite device" -- same results.
Running 10.5.6, have deleted and reinstalled the PocketMac software (helped some) but still issues.  Anybody got any help?
    Thanks in advance!
