Palm TX Handheld PDA

I've had my Palm TX Handheld PDA for years now, & now I'm having problem editing  info on a file.
(when I press the return key, nothing happens (bar blinks waiting for next command but disregards current command); backspace key works along with other keys on keyboard. When I go to another file to add and/or edit, there's no problem - I can edit easily...it only happens on a particular file.

Hello, and Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Sounds to me like the file is corrupt on the TX.  If it was my device, I'd check to see if there is a good copy of the file backed up in my computer's HotSync backup folder, then delete the file on the TX.
Copy the good file to an SD card and put it into the TX.  If the program can access it from there, try it.  If not, use the built-in Copy File command on the TX to move it from the card to main memory.
Using a free File Manager program would help - something like 3xCom(mander).

  • Palm Z22 Handheld and iSync - compatible?

Is the Palm Z22 Handheld compatible with iSync 2.1.1?
It is sold online in the Apple Store but is not listed on the iSync compatible list on the Apple web site, nor does Palm list it as compatible except with PCs - via MS Outlook.
Seems like it must be or they would not sell it?

You can use the Address Book and iCal, choosing to synchronize your contacts, events and tasks with iSync, or you can use these same applications with the Missing Sync for Palm OS instead of using iSync. To use your Palm T|X with iSync, simply add it as a device using the Enable Palm OS Syncing… option under the Devices menu. [It must have a HotSync name different than the one used with your m101 if you intend to use both devices.]
There are lots of reasons to do so, including its far greater flexibility and reliability, its individual Mark/Space Contacts, Events and Tasks conduits, the far superior mapping of categories to groups across platforms, and the add-ons, like iTunes and iPhoto synchronization, AvantGo content synchronization, the OS X memo application and matching conduit…
The list goes on and on. You can learn more about the Missing Sync for Palm OS here:

  • Palm O/S PDA long time user Looking for Replacement PDA

Like many others, I still like my Palm PDA M515 (third model I've owned), but it has lost wired sync capability.  I want to stay with a PDA.  So far I have not found anything out there with the combined functionality and ease of use.  Palm has abandoned us (maybe the HP purchase will help since they once had PDAs but not with the nicer Palm O/S).  What is recommended that keeps the nice Palm Desktop or better and the data can be transferred?  If I have to find a "new"/refurbished Palm PDA, what is the most reliable and best option (email / web not necessary but OK).  Thanks for any recommendations.

I think unless you are buying used the PDA is no longer around new except for the HP that uses MS OS.   Once in awhile there is an advert for a NOS TX but that seems to be also getting scarce.

  • Syncing Palm Vx Handheld to Palm 6.2 Desktop

I've had my Palm Vx for several years and been very happy with it.  Occassionally I upgrade my desktop software by downloading the latest version.   Today I downloaded Palm Desktop 6.2 successfully....I thought.   However, when I do a HotSync it appears to run successfully but address and calendar data on my handheld do not appear in the new desktop software.
I saved my address and datebook folders from my previous desktop and thought I might be able to just move those files into the Palm 6.2 folders.  But I can't find address and datebook file locations in Palm 6.2.
What do I need to do to sync my old handheld to my new desktop?
    Post relates to: Palm Vx

Hello neil_bowers, Welcome to the Palm Support Community.
Version 6.2.2 is not really an upgrade - it was designed to be compatible with Vista and later versions of Windows.  It loses many functions we were used to in versions 4.x of Palm Desktop.  Since Microsoft broke the connection to Quick Install when Vista was created, 6.2.2 was born with a whole new Install program.
If you are using Windows XP, there's no real reason to change.  I'd do a clean uninstall of 6.2.2 and go back to 4.x!
If you are using Vista or Win7, you may need to install a free program from Pimlicosoftware.com called "PalmHotSyncSetup".  This enables 6.2.2 to read old database files from Palm devices.

  • Palm Z22-how can I delete previous recurring items in one fell swoop?

Hello, I have a number of daily and weekly reminders in my palm z22 handheld pda (software v 4.5.2P) calendar (datebook) that are useful for the future, but all the the old ones (that I was too busy to delete at the time) are simply bogging down my overall speed and hogging my overall memory.  Is there a way I can delete recurring reminders that occur before today's date?  Thanks for any help.  Bob

Try this: On your handheld or desktop (one, but not both), go to the first date of the recurring item you want to keep, and make a minor change (i.e. set a reminder time, or delete the reminder time, or add a period to the subject, etc), selecting "this and future" for what you want the change to refer to.  Synch, then go to one of the older items that you want to delete, and delete "all" of those items.  The one you changed should still remain on your calendar, and then you can fix that minor change that you made to keep it.  This works for me (Tungsten E2), so I hope it also works for you.

  • Question on Palm 500 and BlackBerry Storm--please help!

Hi, I'm not sure where to post this, but here is my story.
For several years, I've had a Palm 500.
I believe, when I purchasedit,I had to choose to Hot Sync between either my PC at home or my Mac at work. I chose to Hot Sync at home and that was an error because I was mostly using it for work. In time, I got tired of tapping everything in with the stylus and mostly use it as an address book now, even though I have $hundreds in third-party apps going unused.
Recently, I’ve been considering buying a BlackBerry Storm. I don’t really plan to use it on the Net but Verizon says I have to pay $30 a month just for web fees or I can’t get that phone. My husband says there is a way nowadays to HotSync to both a PC and a Mac. Or at least for me to hook up the Palm 500 to the Mac at work and be able to use iCal etc. there.
If I choose to buy the BlackBerry he says I can transfer all my Palm data to the BB.
Can anyone tell me: 1. Is any of this true? 2. If I stay with the Palm how do I get the necessary hardware/software for my iMac? 3. Should I just deep-six the Palm 500 because it’s so old?
I really need some kind of organization software/device because deadlines are piling up and I’m gonna get in trouble on my job!
    Thanks!!!
    Post relates to: Palm m500

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Community Forums.
You always had the ability to sync with two different desktops, even of different platforms.  This Palm Knowledgebase Article discusses how to Hotsync one device on two different desktops:
    http://tinyurl.com/kq4c5
The Mac hotsync software is downloadable from the support/download site linked above if you don't have your original installation disc.  Just be sure you pay heed to the article's instructions about only using ONE desktop for full 2-way sync, using the second desktop for one-way sync (Handheld Overwrites Desktop) as a clone of the other.
As for the BB Storm, I am unfamiliar with it but it looks like you would probably have to sync with M$ Outlook or some other organizer app which is compatible with the Blackberry Desktop software (suggest you peruse the BB site for info).  If you don't already sync with Outlook, you would have to migrate your data from Palm Desktop to Outlook.  You can do that but you might need your original installation disc.  I'm not sure whether the m500 came with Outlook conduits or Chapura Pocket Mirror to sync with Outlook...and I'm just a little bit frustrated right now trying to find stuff on the newly redesigned web site to be able to point you to the right answer on that.
Whether to deep-six the m500 or not is a tough one.  Palm's handheld PDA business is pretty much a goner...no new stand-alone PDAs are planned, and the "current" models (TX, E2 and Z22) now seem to be at the end of their production life.  So it seems that whatever is still out there in the supply stream (like www.amazon.com where you can get a new TX for something like $270) is probably about it. Your m500 is already a dinosaur, and parts will get harder to come by.  But if you like the stand-alone PDA it seems that now would be the time to get a replacement for your m500.  Their speed, display resolution and other capabilities are far superior to your m500.

  • Very Disappointed in Palm

Over the years I have replaced two batteries in my Tungsten E to keep it going but recently the USB port failed.  It has given me many years of good service so I am not disappointed in the Tungsten E.  What I am disappointed about is that when I went to the Palm web site to see what is currently available as a replacement all I see are @@###$@#@$ phones.  I don't want a phone! I want a PDA with a wireless or USB connection to the PC.  No more, no less.   Has Palm really given up on making PDAs and if so, have they licensed the Palm OS to any other PDA makers that make normal PDAs?
Why do they always have to mess with a good thing.  Very disappointing.
    Post relates to: Tungsten E

Discontinuing Palm's handheld PDA business is not something that happened this quickly, it has been coming for a long time, so the change in direction has in fact been going on.  But I was just reacting to how quickly PDAs disappeared from Palm's store.  For the past few years there have been many (many) people like yourself thinking badly of Palm for "abandoning" the handheld PDA and going with a "converged" device (i.e. SmartPhones).  But there just doesn't seem to be as much of a market for them, and Palm's handheld business has dwindled pretty severely.  Maybe that's for lack of advertising and investment in new models, I dunno.  But it is what it is, and as simple and as elegant as it is, the old Palm Operating System isn't what most people seem to want any more.
I have never really explored the options of Windows Mobile handheld PDAs, but I'm thinking that market is shrinking, too.  It's all about converged devices these days.  Me, I have two TXes and a Centro.  I will no doubt eventually get a Pre.  (I will hang my head and admit that I have an iPod Touch, but that wasn't my fault...I got it for free when I bought one of my kids a Mac laptop over the summer.)  I really like the Centro for what it is, but I also always carry a TX around with me, and always probably will.  I wouldn't surprise myself if I wound up buying a third one while I can, and put it up on the shelf for the day the two that I have bite the dust.
I looked at www.amazon.com yesterday and they were selling for about $260 with free shipping.  It's still a GREAT PDA, and that's a good deal.

  • New Palm TX???

I am seeing the announcement for the Palm Pre.  I want an ITouch, not an IPhone.  Any rumors in the mill for an updated Palm TX?
    Post relates to: Tungsten E

Hello anjuli99 and welcome to the Palm forums.
No, Palm has discontinued their non-smartphone Palm OS handheld PDA devices.  Their business is now clearly focused on smartphones.  I am unaware of any rumors that point to an updated Palm TX PDA or other non-smartphone device.

  • Palm T|X Upgrade to Treo 700p and Revert Back to T|X Due to 700p Problems. Now I Can't Update the T|X

Here's the story. I am a long-time Palm power user and I have rarely been stumped but I am very stumped right now. I have used my Palm T|X for several years without any sync problems. I upgraded to a new Palm Treo 700p (Verizon) so I can carry one device instead of a PDA and a cell phone. I initially migrated my data from the T|X to the Treo 700p with no major issues. The Treo 700p worked fine for a couple of weeks until I started using the camera. After I started taking pictures and storing them in the on-board memory, wierd things started happening such as screen freeze-ups, screen white-outs, and processor delays. After talking with other Palm users, I was informed that this behavior is typical of the 700p when pictures are stored in on-board memory and that I should move the pictures to my SD card.
I moved the pictures to the SD card and perfomance improved. However, after another week or so, the freeze-ups started again. Everyone that I know who has a 700p or 700w reports the same issues so I'm starting to believe that the 700p has design flaws or bugs that were never fixed. Due to the frustration and productivity losses that I sustained with the Treo 700p, I decided to revert to my trusty T|X.
I initially started using the Treo on 8/12/2009 and I synchronized the T|X to the desktop before synchronizing the data to the 700p. On 09/16/2009 I started trying to re-synchronize the T|X. I did a hard reset and memory clear on the T|X so all of the updated data in the desktop could come over to the T|X without duplicates. However, when I synchronized the T|X, my data was only updated as of 8/12/2009 even though the palm desktop has data updated up to 9/16/2009!!
Please explain what is keeping all of the updates from coming over to the T|X. Thanks for the help.

Are you sync'ing the 700p to the same username in Palm Desktop as the TX?
If you are, this will cause problems on the new device. When you sync the device, it saves the device settings, 3rd party apps, preferences, etc. in the backup folder in the username folder on the PC. When you sync the new device it copies the contents of the backup folder for the old device to the new device. This will cause corruption in the settings for the new device thus causing erratic behavior of the new device. The TX does not have a camera and you are sync'ing the backup folder for theTX that does not have a camera app. to the 700P.
Click on the following link to the kb.palm.com webpage for the article regarding Upgrading from a previous Palm OS handheld.
    http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=12926
I would suggest exporting the data from the current username, create a username for the TX and import the data to that username and only sync the TX to that name. You will need to rename the backup folder in the current username to backup.old, hard reset the 700P and sync to the current username. You will need to hard reset the TX once you have the data in Palm desktop in a seperate username to remove the backup folder contents on the TX.
The best way to preserve your data is to export the data in each category in Palm Desktop to a seperate folder on your PC.
Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that is convenient. Name it something like Palm Desktop Data. Click on the link below and follow the instructions on that page for the export procedure.
    http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=28734
Make sure you select all for the range in the export window.
With the data saved in the folder you created, make a copy of that folder and save to a flash drive, cd-rw or external hard drive.
Anytime you make a change in Palm Desktop, export the data that was changed to that folder and save again to the external media.
With this process you can always import the data back into Palm Desktop anytime you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop or if your computer/hard drive/device crashes.

  • Second Palm TX issue, can't find cust service.

Good afternoon, Unfortunately this is my second TX digitizer issue. I am having huge problems trying to contact customer service for assistance.  Either the phone number is not in service or I get the run around. When I email the company, I get no response (Actual email below). Its going on about 2 months now and I am quite frustrated and I have been using palm products for about 10 years and I am loyal.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

    Dear Sir or Ma'am,
Good afternoon, I have some problems with my Palm TX handheld and had an extremely hard time finding a phone/contact number for the PDA assistance, I hope you can help me. I have a Palm TX S/NN70UXP3M0RX Mac:000B6C4020011 with the following issues.
Digitized drift – I have purchased and installed “Power Digi” and it helps a bit but I find myself having to re-digitize the touchscreen quite often.
Screen area not recognized – The upper left hand corner of the screen is not recognized most of the time when a stylus is used in that area
Upon performing a hard reset, it is extremely difficult to digitize the device on the initial digitize screen. It generally takes about 45 minutes or longer to digitize after a hard reset due to the fact the upper left hand portion of the screen is not recognized.
All of the above issues are progressively getting worse.
This is my 2nd Palm TX with this problem. I contacted customer service(my first TX), verified that it was in warranty. There were problems communicating/understanding the operator but we got through it and I was told to await a confirmation # that would be sent to me and that I could not sent the unit in until I received the #. I waited several weeks however and received nothing from palm. I started the process again, became frustrated, and eventually purchased another Palm TX (this one). I love the Palm pdas, the pdas are great for work etc. This time however going out and buying another one is not an option (I don't make a lot of money).
I sincerely appreciate your assistance in this matter. My contact information is below, feel free to contact me.
Thanks in advance for your help!

  • What PDA to get?

My Visor Prism is definitely "Old School" but does anyone know what the best bets for complete Mac iSync ability with iCal would be in a new PDA? Just the ones from Palm? Is a crackberry a consideration for compatability with OSX?
My wife wants to give it to me for my birthday so any quick help is appreciated!

There is native support—albeit rather minimal compared to other options—for Palm OS handheld organizers and smartphones in iSync. In my experience, Palm OS devices are handled far better with the Missing Sync or Palm OS.
    There is also…
    • native support for Symbian OS smartphones like the SONY Ericcson P910a.
    • options for Danger OS devices like the T-Mobile Sidekick and Sidekick II with additional software: the Missing Sync for hiptop
    • options for Windows Mobile devices* with additional software: the Missing Sync for Windows Mobile or PocketMac
    • options for limited Blackberry support with PocketMac for Blackberry.
Information about all three of the Missing Sync programs is available here:
    http://www.markspace.com
Information about the PocketMac product line is available here for Windows Mobile devices…
    http://www.pocketmac.net/products/pmpro3/index.html
    …and here, for Blackberry devices:
    http://www.pocketmac.net/products/pmblackberry/index.html
*Windows Mobile 5 devices are not currently supported by release software. Registered users of the Missing Sync for Windows Mobile without such support can download and alpha release of version 2.5 which offers such support:

  • Hotsync client for non-Palm handheds?

    Hello
I'd be very surprised if there were such a thing, but I figured I should ask.
I have an old, deadware Windows application that can only sync with Palm handhelds (PDAs and the Pré/Pixi smartphone now).
As a way to use other smartphones, including the BlackBerry, I was wondering if someone had developped Hotsync clients to run on non-Palm smartphones so that any Hotsync-reliant Windows application could sync with those new handhelds?
    Thank you.
    Post relates to: Tungsten E

    View Solution.

The closest thing to a common "HotSync Client" is Microsoft Outlook.  Most devices (including PalmOS) can sync PIM data to Outlook...

  • Pda and windows 8

I have a Palm Z22 handheld electronic organizer (pda) that I want to replace with a model that is more compatible (Hotsynching) with my computers with Windows 8OS. Does HP sell such a product and how much does it cost?

    Z22 Palm PDA
I searched for "64bit Windows USB Palm Desktop drivers" in the "Search HP" search box above. That took me to the thread "64 Bit Windows USB drivers for Palm Desktop".
I clicked the link in the first post "Aceeca Driver Downloads"
I downloaded the drivers from Aceeca and then extracted them to a directory of my making.
I then installed the Palm Desktop software to my machine.
I then copied the four files to the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Palm\USB_Driver:
    AceecaUSBDx64.cat
    AceecaUSBDx64.inf
    AceecaUSBDx64.sys
    USBPort.dll
Ran the install again and then ran the "Safe HotSync" and then tried the hotsync function.
VOILA! The program worked and the files transferer flawlessly.
Thanks to all who participated in this thread.

  • Can two Palm devices use the same Hot Sync ID?

Can two Palm devices share the same Hot Sync ID using the same desktop? I presently owe a Treo 700p with a lot of purchased software. I'm considering buying a Palm TX handheld and would like to use both devices using the same Hot Sync ID. Is this possible and should there be any synchronization issues if they are syncing to the same desktop?

You will be assured of unpredictable device behavior, random crashes, spontaneous resets, and other delights described in one of the boxes in the Read This First flyer if you sync two very different device models (phone vs. PDA, different screen sizes, etc.) to the same Hotsync ID on the same computer.
This can be done but you will have to treat each sync as an Upgrade, rename the Backup folder, and reinstall third-party applications, reset your preferences, basically the entire process involving multiple syncs every time you sync. I don't think the headache involved is worth it.
Suggest you decide which third-party apps you want on your second device and get an additional licence and registration from the developers.

  • WOES: iSync, Palm Pilot, iCal, Missing Sync, Palm Desktop, Ericsson Phone

Here's my situation, I've been a long time Palm user, and fairly recently (within a year) a new Mac user. I've always used the Palm Desktop on my PC in the past. I've had a Palm Vx for years, and fairly recently (within a year) I bought a Palm Zire 72 and a Sony Ericsson S170a cell phone. I also have an iPod Photo.
I really would like to sync up my address book, calendars, memos, maybe even photos, with all my devices. I tried using iSync, but nothing seam to work right, so I tried a million things, now everything is messed up.
For right now, I'm just trying to get my Palm Pilot, the Mac, and the Phone to have all the same calendar events (w the correect times, alarms, colors, and groups).
I'm really frustrated with trying to get the mac's iCal, the palm pilot, the phone to all have the same calendar info. I really like iCal, and the mac address book, and how well it works with the mail app. As well as subscribing to shared iCals. Especially the holiday ones! I use to have to enter all that info by hand, and have them "other" repeater. The Palm Desktop software's calendar and address book is pretty clunky compared to the Mac apps, or even the Palm Desktop for the PC. But everything is messed up now. I even tried the "missing sync" software and it messed it up even worse.
Several of my cal events are now GONE from iCal, my Palm Pilot, and my Phone! Many of them have duplicates, some have wrong times. Some have right groups, some don't. The ones that do have right groups, don't have any colors applied to them. If I create certain calendars on the mac and sync with the palm, the groups do not come over. If I create them on the Palm, the groups don't come over on the mac. Getting the colors/groups to match, and all 3 items to sync all at once is a nightmare as well. There were a million conflicts, and chose the correct ones, but some of them would NOT let me pick the one I wanted, it would just keep on saying "conflict".
What would AT LEAST get me back to the original info on the Palm and the Mac would be to restore from my Palm Desktop software, but I can't get to that because it looks like the missing sync software has messed the conduit/hot sync manager up. I can no longer get to my Palm Desktop condiut settings. I'd re-install the palm software to get it back, but I will probably loose all the data stored in Palm Desktop. This is the ONLY place that has the correct info right now. I'm varry warry about loosing that information. I use to have the PC copy, and the Palm Copy, and it was all right. The Palm Desktop has an import/export feature, but it doesn't seam to carry all the info (like notes attatched to cal events).
Also, has anyone tried to RESTORE a Palm Pilot not using the Palm Desktop software? When I had to reset my Palm, I tried using iSync or even missing sync to get all my apps, settings, calendars, address books, everything, but it never put the info back on the Palm. This info was always restored with Palm Desktop.
And let's just say I DO get back all my calendar items back into the Palm, and the Palm Desktop software up and running correctly. What is the proper way to do what I was trying to do in the begining? Which was "just have my Palm Pilot, the Mac, and the Phone to have all the same calendar events (w the right times, alarms, colors, and groups)." I don't seam to have too many problems with contacts. Except work/home fields seam to swap all the time.
    What I'm running:
    G4 PowerMac w/ Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.3)
Palm Pilot Zire 72s (Palm Software v5.2.8)
    Missing Sync (v5.0.3)
    Palm Desktop Mac (v4.2.1)
    Sony Ericsson S170a Cell Phone
    iPod Photo 60GB
G4 PowerMac   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   Palm Pilot Zire 72s (Palm Software v5.2.8), Missing Sync (v5.0.3), Palm Desktop Mac (v4.2.1), Sony

Where to start? Maybe with some background about the synchronization process.
What Apple hasn't explained outside of the developer community is that you are not actually synchronizing applications [like iCal or the Address Book] or servers [like .Mac] or devices [like your mobile handset or a Palm organizer] when you initiate a synchronization. What you are really doing is triggering an interaction with one or more of these and the SyncServices engine, which maintains what is termed the 'truth database'—or simply, the 'truth'—to which is pushed, or from which is pulled, the current state of data maintained in fields and records for one or more specific data types. Because of the way this process works, it is not necessary to have all synchronized devices available or attached when a synchronization event occurs.
You can synchronize your SONY Ericsson S710a, a process which exchanges the most current data maintained in the truth with it, and hours later, plug in your iPod, an action which will trigger iTunes to pull the latest data from the truth and write it to the iPod, updating your contact and calendaring records. The same is true for other applications, servers and devices.
While it all seems clumsy and confusing, it is actually a huge step forward in making synchronization nearly automatic, almost transparent, and virtually mistake proof. It's clear that there is some distance to go before those objectives are achieved, but SyncServices is actually a huge improvement over the prior synchronization technology in iSync 1.5 and earlier.
That said, there are bugs in SyncServices, and in the applications written by several developers to take advantage of it, along with issues in at least iCal, and probably the Address Book, that complicate what you are trying to achieve. It's possible to do, and once working, should work nearly flawlessly. But, it takes some planning to get there.
First, a word about backing up your data. It's a good idea to periodically back up contact and calendaring records using the facilities built into iCal and the Address Book which appear in the File menu of each application. These options make easily restorable local snapshots of your data. Should something go terribly wrong with a synchronization event, you can immediately restore your iCal or Address Book data from these files. In addition, it's a good idea to have a more comprehensive backup plan in place, using Backup and .Mac, Backup and rewritable media, and so on.
To synchronize photos, music and other media files, you'll need to use the Missing Sync for Palm OS. iSync just does not support anything beyond contact, calendaring and task data. To begin the process, you should simplify your device pool, initially concentrating only on getting a complete, accurate set of contact, event and task records pushed to the truth from the Address Book and iCal, and onto your Palm.
You will have to take an inventory of where the best records reside, and insure that you get them into iCal and the Address Book before attempting to synchronize your Palm, because to do it properly, initially, you will have to overwrite the data on your Palm, replacing it with records from iCal and the Address Book. If you're going to edit them by making additions, changes and deletions, perform all of those in iCal and the Address Book until you have synchronized your Palm device or devices with them. Backup before performing the initial synchronization, and be sure to overwrite each Palm device the first time.
If you want a historic snapshot of the data on either Palm device before doing this, first follow the instructions provided by Mark/Space to use the standard Palm conduits instead of Mark/Space Contacts, Events and Tasks, and be sure to set each Palm conduit to Palm overwrites handheld in order to transfer the data from your Palm Vx and Zire 72 to the Palm Desktop. Once there, those records can be exported as vCard and vCal files, and easily imported into the Address Book and iCal if you wish to do that. Edit them as you see fit, once they have been transfered. If you elect to do that, you must thereafter turn off these Palm conduits and reconfigure the Missing Sync to use the Mark/Space conduits, again choosing to have your computer replace the contents on each Palm device on the first synchronization.
Once you've achieved a 'balance' with the records in iCal, the Address Book and your handheld organizers, you can reset the records on your mobile handset. iSync alone performs this function, and later synchronization events with your SONY Ericsson S710a will always be manually triggered, and performed using iSync, not the Missing Sync. Reset once, and subsequently synchronize.
Anything else you want to add to the mix—.Mac Sync, for example—you can then add, initially performing a reset of your .Mac data, then subsequently synchronizing.
Synchronization of your iPod is handled by iTunes and only pulls data from the truth, so it need not be reset, as it cannot write changes to the truth which would adversely affect your other devices.
