Palm z22 will not sync with windows vista

I have been following the forums and this seems to be consistent issue and no one seems to be able to give a straight answer as to what to do. I like to consider myself a biut of a techie, but this blows my mind. My computer recognized my z22 twice and synced twice, but ever since it synced with it the second time and i installed my belkin wireless key board it stopped working. I don't know why but my computer will no longer recognize the device, i've tried everything i've seen discussed i've installed different versions of palm desktop i've tried restarting my palm in everyway possible, there is no way on earth i am going to reload vista or wipe my hard drive or any crap like that i've got to much stuff and i don't have the disks for it anymore anyway. so what am i supposed to do. i'm trying to keep cool but this is sort of something i'm counting on working to help me keep organized while i go through college, and i think it's understandable that i would be a little frustrated.

Check out either MusicTones or MiniTones, both free programs that work similarly. Available from freewarepalm.com.
They will scan your SD card for songs, then let you edit out a slice right on your Centro. You choose the Start and Stop locations of the "slice". When satisfied, click the "Add" button, and it will appear in your list of Ringtones.

Although you used the new USB 3.0 port, the actual connection speed is still USB2.0, as the iPod Dock connector, does not have the 10 times faster USB3.0 signal pins, the connection speed is still 480Mbits/s
I assumed that you have tried the other USB 2.0 port to no success..
Can you do the iPod Disk diagnostic as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem, but helps in troubleshooting.

Centro & Treo 650 will not sync with Windows 7

The 6.2 software will not work with windows 7. I have a new computer and can not get the phones to hot sync with my new computer. The Bluetooth does not recognize either of the phones. None of the other Bluetooth devices nor my car recognizes the phones. I do not have a data package with the phones so doing anything over the internet is out of the question. How do I get all the information that is on my two phones onto my computer?

I have an ipod classic that will not sync with my new laptop which has windows 8 installed. When i plug it into my laptop it doesn't show up in itunes or my computer. I tried it with the ipod in disk mode, and it still won't show up in itunes, but does in my computer-however when i click on it my computer freezes so i have to unplug it.
I've been through several forums already, and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes, updating my drivers, renaming the driver that the ipod plugs into, all with no success. I used to have a similar problem on my old laptop, but this could be cured by right-clicking on the ipod in my computer and clicking 'format' - my ipod would then be wiped, but itunes would then recognize it and i could sync everything back onto the device-it was time consuming but it worked. Okay, at the office I did the "null Sync" leaving contacts and calendar for last...It did sync...I came home and viola! it synced here as well...Only thing, my contacts changed a little...WMDC asks about "save to my device" or "save to pc"...it is a bit confusing because the choices on the phone are little different...Any advice on this?
I am keeping my fingers crossed that it syncs at the office tomorrow morning...Thanks for your help

Palm Centro will not sync with pTunes (Sprint)

I have searched high and low for some answers but to no avail.
So here is my problem that I couldn't find answers to on pockettunes.com. I have purchased an SD card to play .mp3's on my phone and the only way I can get them to the card is by using the Desktop Installer. When I start pTunes on the phone while hooked into the USB cable it repeatedly plays the connect/disconnect sound randomly. I have no trouble at all using HotSync to backup all my address book and images but will not sync with pTunes. All my settings are correct as far as I read and I have all the latest versions of the required software. I tried to use the browser to download a ringer from the SD card and it says the file size is 0kb and will not play, but it plays fine in pTunes. So my main concern is with the pTunes sync. It just doesn't won't to acknowledg the device as being connected.
Any help is appreciated.

i dont get any message, its just gets stuck while downloading, and will not finish.

Try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
If you still can't get a working installer from the standard download page, try the following direct download links for 11.1.5.5:

HT3798 Ipod Classic will not sync with windows 8 and newest itunes

I have ipod classic, 160gb, with new computer with Windows 8 and latest version of Itunes - came from xp and previous version of itunes - and never had a syncing problem.
All my songs are in new itunes on new computer, however ipod will not sync. Have received -50, and duplicate file name - I restored and it will go so far and then freeze. Or I get -53. Have tried lots of suggestions discovered on pages like these... but none have worked. I do see there is a problem with classic and new itunes - does anyone have any solutions??

Well I finally figured out the problem, not thanks to anyone from Apple for that matter. You would asume this problem has happened before and is still happening. The problem was I couldn't copy certain songs anymore from iTunes to my iPod Classic. When trying to copy certain songs I got an error.
If you have this problem it means your song file is corrupted. You can simply check this by trying to copy it from your hard drive to an external hard drive. Here you will also get an error message.
This means you need to replace all the corrupted files by a back up on your hard drive or download it again. I did this and now everything works fine.
Hope this will solve a lot of problems.

Iphone 3GS will not sync with Windows

I could not get it to sync and the dealer then told me it does not work with Windows 7 so I am returningd it and the other stuff I bought from the apple store and cancelled my order for another one and 2 new macs. The dealer was not too worried. Apple must have so many customers that they do not have to worry about new ones, nice business. Misrepresentation of a products capabilities is one day going to cost them though in my experience. I have bought a 3 ipods which did actually work. iPhone is a product that does not work with Windows 7 and a 1 year old laptop and in the year 2009 that is almost unbelievable and should be told to consumers before they buy and struggle and then realise they have been sold a dud.

I think you are mixing things up. This is a patch supplied by Intel to motherboards and BIOS (BASIC INPUT OUTPUT SYSTEM) manufacturers who based their newest motherboards on Intel P55 chipset. To get this fix you update your BIOS. The BIOS is independent of any operating system (it comes with the motherboards already flashed). Has nothing to do with Apple or Microsoft.

You can download the patch here and then start the installation. Restart your computer and you will see all your sync problems are solved.

Lumia 620 calenler will not sync with windows 8 on...

When I make an entry on my phone calender, Lumia 620, it does not sync with my pc running windows 8.
It does sync the other way round, when I make a diary entry in my calender on the pc the entry does show up on my phone.
On my phone settings (email +account) my Microsoft account and my google account are both added.
My contacts sync both ways OK.

Try this:
Enter an appointment or something
goto Settings >email+account
tap and hold Microsoft account > sync
open http://calendar.live.com
your appointment should be there

Palm z22 won't sync with Windows 7

I have a palm Z22 which I only use for geocaching. Has been working fine with Windows XP.
Just got a new computer running Windows 7. Installed from the disc (few years old)..wouldn't sync or recognize the PDA. Downloaded Palm Desktop 6.2 which was supposed to fix the problem..didn't work.
What now?? Would buy another Palm PDA if necessary. Are there any which will work on Windows 7?

So you feel I don't care eh? Do you see a Palm logo under my nickname? You don't, due to the fact I am a VOLUNTEER here, sitting at home, and offering my years of experience with PalmOS devices freely to those asking for help. I am the highest Kudo'd responder here (kudos=Thank You's), have the highest post count, and yes answering the same question over and over again does get tedious at times!
The plain fact remains that Palm Inc. is ending support for PalmOS devices, and those of us using them are on our own. They sold Palm Desktop to a Japanese company named "Access" years ago, and have gone to webOS as their entire future. Microsoft has changed their OS twice now (since XP), and you chose to purchase it/them. Access finally came out with version 6.2.2 of Palm Desktop (for Vista), but that seems to be the end of the road as far as they're concerned.
One of the basic tenets of business is to attract new customers constantly. Palm's PDA line was discontinued due to lack of sales. Yes, I would have loved to have seen a TX2, or at least see Palm actually advertise and market what they actually had. Palm Inc. has moved on, and would like everyone to purchase a webOS device now.

It should be reasonably simple to provide a link to a summary of the Windows 7 sync problems, rather than replying to the questioner in the manner you did.
A problem so often asked about deserves to be handled helpfully, not sarcastically. Actually, no request for help of any kind should be treated so disparagingly.

I came to this forum page from an outside link. Had I realized it would bring me here, I would not have followed it.
I long ago gave up expecting anything helpful in the Palm forums as it relates to this issue.
You did however provide one major piece of useful information: that Palm has literally abandoned PDA users. Yet as recently as last November, the Palm Store in my City was actively selling PDA's including the Z22. One would think that those newly purchased devices would be supported for some reasonable amount of time, like at least a year!
Now I know what future products not to buy. And whom not to engage in conversation.

My 5th Generation iPod will not sync under Windows Vista

Wow.. I finally got registered on this forum, took ages lol.
Well I've got the latest version of the iTunes software and I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium.
When I connect my iPod, it detects ok and then iTunes starts to sync it.. after about five seconds or so I get an error stating I do not have sufficient privelages to update the "My Music" folder, and thus my iPod will not update. Immediately after this error I check device manager, and a "USB Mass Storage Device" is detected with an error state (a yellow exclamation mark next to it). I can delete this from device manager, re-connect my iPod and it will do exactly the same all over again.
Can anyone help?

I've had it working in the past, thats what is odd.
It just refuses to update saying I don't have the necessary privelages.
Not sure when the next version of iTunes will be released, hope its soon.
