Pan & Zoom with overlay functions

Hi.
Want to craete a zoom & pan image, that also has overya layers that can be swicthed on/off.
Say theer are 8 levelo of overlaid information activated from a static key sitting outside teh pan/zoom area. Selecting these turns on/off indivusla overlay layers insode of a zoom/pan area.
Is this possible? If i'd really appreciate some instrcutions.
Many thanks

If I understand your question correctly, you'd like to have some overlays on top of a pan & zoom image ? It wouldn't be too difficult to let some buttons switch a few Object State to several overlays. However these states won't scale accordingly with the pan & zoom, if that's what you want...

    Hi!
I've found this awesome Tate's site today about the "lost art":

You can navigate it with pan&zoom, like the Moma Museum in its own app.
Is it possibile to make the pan&zoom navigation with Adobe Edge and/or with Adobe Edge and external JS libraries?
    Many thanks!

I was just sent this javascript library for pan and zoom. I have not had a chance to experiment with it in Animate, but it works well in a straight jquery implementation.

Let me know if any of you have used this and had success with it in Animate.

  • Pan & Zoom with letter box

Is it possible to Pan & Zoom outside the picture area on a slideshow? For example, I have a still shot that was taken sideways so that it is tall and skinny (9x16 instead of 16x9). I want to pan out to show the whole picture with black letterboxes on the side. I am unable to get this to work. Any advice?
       Thanks, Alan

Instead of using the Pan & Zoom animation Preset, use Keyframing, of the Fixed Effect>Motion>Scale (Zoom), and Motion>Position (Pan).
This is an example of a portrait oriented Still Image, in the landscape Video Frame. This is very similar to what you want. It was done in PrPro, but other than the differences in the GUI, between programs, will be just what you wish to do. In my case, I used an abstract background, behind the portrait Still Image, where you will want just the black bars of a pillar box. Also, I kept the Scale to about the Title Safe Area, where you will be Scaling to the full vertical dimension of the Frame.
Good luck, and hope that helps,
    Hunt
PS - I like the use of an abstact backgroud, in lieu of the black bars, but that is just me.

  • Adobe's Pan|Zoom component not fitting the content area

I'm calling centerView method on handleLoadComplete event (ImageViewer.as) so the image will be adjusted to fit the content area when load is complete, but I'm having problems when testing this on Internet Explorer. Using Firefox it works fine, but on IE it only works after pressing Ctrl + F5.
Do you know how can I fix this?

    Hi.
Making it zoom and pan was a bit tricky, but I had it done
two months ago (in july). The integration of the pan zoom with
callout ("kind of spots on the map", the other published FIG
    componet) repositioning was bit tricky.
I solved it with pointTransformations, but it was too
expansive, in terms of memory. In my first trial, theyre positions
were recalcuted as you pan and zoom.
Now, in the version I published here
    http://www.gabriela.trindade.nom.br/?p=61
you dont hav smooth zooming, and the callouts only are
repositioned after your drop the map.
I am working now on it. Im probably going to make then blurry
or transparent while panning, but as I got this message from the
foruns and I had promissed another guy who contacted me a (working)
version, I decided to publish it on my blog.
    Hope it will be usefull.
Please, be aware that not really a small application: it has
lots of classes. Please read it all before contacting me with any
    doubts.
    Best luck :0)

  • Pan & zoom overlay will not pan until after user has zoomed in or out

I've been trying to lay out a large table of data so that when you first see the page, it's zoomed right out.  It's just an imported png image, with its own frame defining over what area of the screen it should be visible, and then set to pan & zoom mode using the overlay creator).
In this initial state, the width of the image matches that of the frame; only the  bottom part of the image is hidden by being outside the frame.
So it needs to be able to pan at any time regardless of the zoom level, so that a user can see all the content.  But what's happening is that it refuses to respond to any swipe (i.e. pan) gestures until you have first zoomed in or out to some extent.  Once you've done that the panning works perfectly in all directions.
I've experimented with different aspect ratios & relative sizes of the content & the frame, but the same thing always happens, so this seems to be deliberate.  Does anyone know of any workarounds, or any options in the viewer builder (which we don't yet have) that might fix this?

I think this has to do with the fact that you have to "activate" the interactive overlay with a single tap. After that you can pinch and zoom. Before that, even a swipe is not possible.
That is different for the action "Pan only", wich is automatically activated.
I hope this will get fixed in the future. We need the autoplay option even for Pan & Zoom for instant access to that interactive overlay.

  • What's the best webcam for Mac with tilt/pan/zoom?

I am trying to find a good quality webcam to use for videoconferencing with my Mac (MacBook Air actually). The camera is to be positioned on the 60-inch screen on the wall in our boardroom so the built-in Facetime camera doesn't do the job. It needs to have tilt/pan/zoom (in software). When I started on this search I had no idea such a thing was going to be so hard to find. There is no shortage of such products for Windows but I can't find a single one for the Mac.
There are a lot of webcams that claim to support Mac but on closer investigation not a single one of them (that I've found so far anyhow) provides any conrol features like tilt/pan/zoom - nor even brightness and contrast control for that matter. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places because it's hard to believe the Mac world really is lacking such products. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Would be much appreciated.

    You're most welcome, Julie.

If you are still shopping, you might be able to find a compatible used camcorder at a local store that sells used cameras or electronics. One with a failed tape mechanism that otherwise works would likely be very low priced.  The same store may also have compact tripods.
Because your MBA is so portable, it is easy to take with you so you can test any camcorder before you buy to be certain it meets your needs.

  • How do you batch edit still photos with panning/zooming effect in FCP X?

    Hi,
I was making a slideshow with a lot of photos.  I had to manually add two keyframes in each photo (one in the beginning and one at the end), and then manually adjusted the scale/position for each photo so they pan/zoom during the slideshow.
Is it possible to accomplish the samething with multiple photos in a batch?  It would sure save a lot of time.  Thanks.
    Regards,
    Nelson

Build the effect that you want on one photo.
Right click that photo on the Timeline and choose Copy.
Select the other photos that you want to have the same effect.
Right click one of them and choose Paste Attributes.
In the Attributes dialog, place a check mark next to those you want. In the case of the effect described in your post, that would be Motion Attributes. If you had also included Filter effects such as color correction, you would check those too.

  • Can't use pan zoom overlay in new document?

I can create a pan and zoom overlay in an old file but when I create a new file it doesn't give me the options to create the pan & zoom the options are greyed out. I tried copying the working file into a new file and it doesn't work? I can add a new page in the old document and create a pan and zoom overlay but nothing outside of that file?

CMYK can only show saturated cyans, magentas, and yellows.
It can't reproduce saturated reds, greens, or blues.
HSB values are relative to RGB.
LAB values would similarly clip in CMYK because they can be well outside the CMYK gamut.
Yes, I suspect you just missed that previously.

  • Pan & Zoom option in Overlay Creator disabled/grayed out when trying to create scrolling text

    Hi all,
I'm trying to create a scrolling text frame using the Paste Into method. I've created a long text frame, cut it, pasted into another frame. When I go to the Overlay Creator and click Pan & Zoom, it tells me to select a cropped image. I've tried an identical work flow on another computer and it works fine - the pan only radio button is available.
I've reinstalled the CS5 extensions, restarted my Mac and I can't resolve the issue. I only downloaded the extension tools last week, so I'd hope they aren't too out of date now. The About screen tells me I'm on 11.4.2.20111116_m_671500 7.0.3.13
    Any help appreciated.

The best place to get the new builds is the DPS Dashboard (https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com). You can also view the detailed help topic about installing:

  • Photoshop Elements 7 Slideshow Pan & Zoom issues with imported pictures

I am using PSE7 on a Windows XP machine. When I create a slideshow, I have the default set to pan and zoom the pictures. If I add pictures that are already in my catalog, it works great and will apply a random pan and zoom to each of the pictures. If, however, I add a picture from a folder and choose pictures that are not already in my catalog, it will add the picture to the slideshow but will not apply a pan and zoom to it (even though I said that it should). I can then manually add it, but it is not random, it always uses the same pan and zoom for each picture. In my most recent project, I had over 100 pictures I added to a slideshow that were not in my catalog. They all imported into the slideshow, but had no pan and zoom even though I had the option selected. I then selected all the slides, applied pan and zoom, and they all ended up with the exact same pan and zoom - nothing random. I really wasn't in the mood to manually change all 100+ pictures pan/zoom features. So, I created a new catalog, imported the pictures into the catalog, then created the slideshow, and it worked fine. Then, since I don't want those photos in a catalog, I delete the catalog. A lot of extra steps for something that I think should work no matter if you are importing files from the catalog or files from a folder. Or am I just doing something wrong?

    Paul,
Since I do catalog photos which I will be using a slide show, I guess that I may never experience this bug. I am curious about whether there is any difference in the behavior depending on whether these photos are from a digital camera or scanned photos?
Howeer, I do agree with your conclusion that since the slide show does support adding photo files (that are not in the Catalog) directly from their folder location into the slide show, it should apply random pan and zoom consistently.
Here is a link to the process to report that bug to Adobe -

  • Why can't the Pan & Zoom Tool start with the whole frame using photos

I've used the pan and zoom animation in Microsoft Movie Maker - and want that same ease of use in any other program (I find it doesn't do a great job of soundtrack and text/image placement) see menu options below....   I Purchased Premiere Elements after watching a short video of the pan & zoom tool - however now that I am trying to use it it falls way short.
Is there a way to allow me to select the whole photo as the starting frame -- in the screenshot below the frame 1 will not extend to the whole photo so I start off with a cropped image.  I want the full Frame of the photo and then be able to zoom and pan in toward faces - while I can still do this with the cropped frame I loose a good deal of my photo and the context it provides.
The Microsoft Movie Maker options - very easy                        |              Limitation of Premiere Elements 13 to start with the full photo frame

    Hi,
You might like to ask that question in the Premiere Elements forum
    Premiere Elements
It looks to me as though the aspect ration of the photo and the video frame are different and therefore something has to be cropped off.
    But I could be wrong

  • Please tell me you can use pan/zoom tool for photo slideshow with photos not cropped to screen?

I'm new to Mac and Premiere Elements (former PC/Sony Vegas Movie user), and am trying to do a Ken Burns type photo slideshow wherein my photos are left in their normal cropped state.  Right now it seems all photos get cropped to fill the screen size (i.e. 16:9).  I saw where you could uncheck the scale photo size to media (or something to that effect) under the general setting in preferences, but using the pan/zool tool still shows photos cropped to fill screen.  I realize conflicting aspect ratio will result in black bars top/bottom or left/right of frame, and that's ok/what I want.  I'm hoping this is doable?  Thanks, Jim

The primary question that I have is what is the end product...DVD-VIDEO Standard on DVD disc, DVD-VIDEO Widescreen on DVD disc or other?
Let us assume for now DVD-VIDEO Widescreen on DVD disc. The next question that falls into line is the one relating to what you describe as an assortment of photos going into this project...what are the pixel dimensions (what range of...) and aspect ratio. For aspect ratio, are we talking 4:3 or 16:9. How many of these photos are landscape oriented or how many portrait oriented.
In generalities at this point, I would ask you to look at:
    a. bringing your photos appropriately sized into a Premiere Elements project with an appropriate project preset.
    b. leaving Edit Menu/Preferences/General with its Default Scale to Frame Size with a check mark.
    c. in the workspace, scaling the photos to just fill the space in the Edit Mode Monitor
    d. then one by one pan and zoom a photo with the Pan and Zoom Tool.
If you use this Tool, you should get good results. One consideration is that the process results in the Timeline photo having a much larger duration AFTER than BEFORE. If you see any pros in using this tool for your purposes, then you might want to explore the technique that I described for applying a pan and zoom effect from this Tool to more than one photo at a time.
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/05/pe11-pan-zoom-tool-more-than-one-photo.html
You also might want to explore fxEffects/Presets for horizontal and vertical pans or zoom. The catch in the presets is that you can apply a pan OR zoom, not a pan AND zoom to each photo.
Keyframing of Scale (for Zoom) and Position (for Pan) should be explored under Applied Effects/Applied Effects Palette/Motion Panel expanded/Scale and Position properties.
With more details from you, we could go step by step in any of the above.
We will be watching for your progress.
    Thanks.

  • How do I restore default functionality to the Pan & Zoom tool?

When I select the Pan & Zoom tool, the image on the left is what I get - the green bars that used to appear are gone: http://imageshack.com/a/img540/240/b6b715.jpg
What step by step procedure do I need to follow to get those green bars to appear like they used to? The green bars disappear ONLY when I place a video in the timeline.  If I place a still photo in the timeline the green bars are there like they should be.

From your previous threads, it would appear that you are using Premiere Elements 12 Mac. Is that correct?
Is this a "it worked before but not now" or "it never worked before" type of issue?
I am strictly an Elements Windows user, and, when I select Tools Menu/Pan And Zoom, the project gets taken into the Pan and Zoom workspace that looks like
Is this what you are used to seeing when you used Tools Menu/Pan and Zoom Tool? I think that I lost you when
    you wrote
If I place a still photo in the timeline the green bars are there like they should be.
After I click Done to the Pan and Zoom workspace, the project goes back to the Expert workspace and the panned and zoomed photo has no green marking(s) on it. The panned and zoomed photo that goes back to the Expert workspace does have an increased duration compared to the original Timeline photo.
Could you point out what the green bars are that you are referring to?
I have never seen a Premiere Elements 11 or 12 Pan and Zoom workspace that looked like your screenshot.
What were you doing in the program when this problem occurred?
I would suggest that you make sure that
    1. You have updated the program from 12 to 12.1.
    2. You have deleted the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file (Users/user name/Libraries/Application Support/Adobe/Premiere Elements/12.0)
    3. If that does not work, then I would suggest a complete uninstall/reinstall of the program.
Is the Pan and Zoom Tool the only feature that is not working and/or displaying correctly?
We will be watching for your follow up.
    Thank you.
