Panasonic viera cast

Hi
Having problems connecting to panasonic viera cast. New bt hub other wise working fine. Any suggestions appreciated.
thanks

Sorry to be so vague!
I get the message 'communicaton with the server failed'. In the tv book this says it is a problem with my server, which I assume means my bt hub in my case? When i phoned bt they tested my line and said it must be the software on the tv because my broadband was working fine. Of course I can't load the new viera cast updates without logging on in the first place. I'm using the panasonic wireless dongle which is specifically for the viera cast service from panasonic by the way.
I seem to be in a bit of a circle, although not being computer literate i could be doing something daft!
thanks,
Martin

i have a 50" viera cast plasma tv a panasonic blue ray
I want to listen to to pandora an netflix through the sound system. I can listenb to tv and blu ray through it but when I get netflix or pandora it does not play through the audio system.
the cat 5 cable is hooked through the TV Tv is hooked to blue ray through hdmi and tv to cable box via hdmi
i have fiberoptic cable from the blue ray to stereo and stereo to TV
do i need a fiber audio cable from TV to stereo as well?

A fiberoptic cable should be connected from the TV to a input of the stereo. I am just not really sure aobut your comment:
"i have fiberoptic cable from the blue ray to stereo and stereo to TV"
I undesrtand you have a fiber cable from BD to your stereo. But the other part are you saying you are using stereo RCA connections to the TV? because if you already have a fiber optic cable connecting your TV to stereo it should be working

  • Time capsule and Viera Cast

Hi - I've just purchased a Panasonic TC-P50G10 plasma TV that is able to be directly hooked up to the internet. I have a cable modem connected to Time Capsule and the TV is connected with via a LAN port from the Time Capsule to an ethernet port on the TV. When I check the network connection to the TV it says it successful and can obtain an IP address. However when I try to connect to the internet via the Viera Cast function of the TV it says "connection to server failed 006". I think that there is something about Time Capsule that is not allowing the TV to talk to the server. Any suggestions on how to proceed? I've tried rebooting the router and modem with no success.

    Welcome to the discussions!
Suggest that you perform an additional troubleshooting step as follows:
Temporarily disconnect the ethernet cable at the TV and plug it in to your laptop. Make sure that wireless is turned off on your laptop so that it will connect using ethernet.
Try to pull up several websites on your laptop. If you can, there is nothing in the TC blocking access to a website.
Reconnect the ethernet cable to the TV and power the TV down as well as the rest of your network. Then start the modem first for a few minutes alone, then the TC for a few minutes, then your TV and computers.
Any help? If not, you will need to check with Panasonic support to troubleshoot further as you can verify to them that you have a reliable internet connection at your end.

  • Can I connect my MacBook Air wirelessly to my Panasonic Viera HDTV

I would like to connect my MacBook Air to my Panasonic Viera HDTV wirelessly, so that we can view family photos, videos etc on the large flat screen. Is it possible and, if so, how do I go about it?

I believe you would need an Apple TV:
    https://www.apple.com/appletv/
FWIW, you are not running iOS (any version) on a Mac computer, it would be Mac OS 10.x.x (which is helpful for anyone trying to help you).

  • Bad Picture Quality On SD Channels With HDMI And Panasonic VIERA 720p LCD HDTV

I just bought a new Panasonic VIERA 32" 16:9 8ms 720p LCD HDTV TC-L32X1 for my in-laws when they finally had Verizon FIOS brought into their neighborhood last month.
Install was by the Verizon tech using the HDMI cable I also had shipped to them.
The HD channels quality is excellent, but the SD quality is smeared -- almost looks like an impressionist painting.
It is not the TV -- the TV menus are crystal clear, as are the HD channels.
And, it is not just the broadcast HD -- the DVR box menus are also smeared when viewing as SD channel, as is the guide and the pop up channel info.
We've tried all the settings on the TV -- Zoom, 4:3, etc.
The other TV (an older CRT) actually has better SD quality than the Panasonic.
My research indicates we're not the only ones on FIOS with this problem. Someone suggested using the component hookup rather than HDMI?
Other say that IMG 1.7 is supposed to solve the problem, that the SD quality was fine before IMG 1.6.
    Any suggestions, solutions, or updates?
    The picture is virtually unwatchable.
    Thank you!

Joe01880 - Being a new customer as of last October, I have never seen anything other than IMG 1.6.  My understanding from other posts is that before IMG 1.6, the SD PQ on an HD box was just fine.  I'm not sure what the complaints/gripes/begs were for IMG 1.6 but it seems to me that, if Verizon knows what changes were made, it should be straightforward to determine which changes caused a deterioration of the PQ.  I think it's been at least 6 months since the first complaints of poor PQ, so I don't really see how anyone can claim that Verizon is in danger of "rushing" an update to address this problem.  I also don't think that a forum topic, no matter how much it complains or gripes, will cause Verizon to rush.  I am much more worried that during a large portion of my 2 year contract that the issue won't be addressed at all, so I'm happy to add my voice to those complaining."

  • Connecting my macbook pro to my panasonic viera tv - no picture or sound

Hi there, I'm trying to connect my macbook pro to my panasonic viera tv by using an HDMI chord and a Thunderbolt mini displayport, but I can't seem to get it to work. Im just getting a screen saver, not even the same screen saver I currently have set on my macbook either. PLEASE HELP! I'm clueless with all this kind of stuff!
    Thank you!

It sounds like you haven't switched your TV to its HDMI1 input.  HDMI1is not a channel (as in a TV channel) ... it's an input.  If you are clicking the channel buttons you will never get to your HDMI1 input.
On your TV remote there is a button that says "Input" ... click it and then use the up/down arrow keys to select HDMI1.   Note, to go back to regular TV channels you will have to click the Input button again and select 'TV.'

  • New 13" Macbook Pro trying to connect to a Panasonic VIERA TC-L42U30 as second monitor. I've used multiple hdmi-thunderbolt/mini displayport adapters and multiple hdmi cables and still no success. The Macbook does not sense the second monitor (TV). Help?!

I've been a Mac since 2008, so I know my way around the system pretty well. This issue, however, has me stumped. I had an iMac until now and only now am I experiencing some difficulty with my new MacBook Pro. The model I have is the newest 13" Macbook Pro model and I'm trying to connect a Panasonic VIERA TC-L42U30 42" HDTV as a second monitor via the Thunderbolt port.
It worked the first two times and hasn't worked since, after 10-15 attempts with different configurations, turning things on n off, restarting the mac, unplugging the cables, adapters, TV, resetting the P RAM, etc... I've used multiple hdmi-thunderbolt/mini displayport adapters and multiple hdmi cables and still no success. No matter what I do, the Macbook does not sense the TV as a second monitor anymore.
I took the MacBook Pro to the Apple Store, and their "genius" there had it working fine with a DVI connection to a regular monitor. The Panasonic TV I have has HDMI connections and one VGA connection which does not support HD, but no DVI option. I want an HD connection to mirror or extend my MacBook Pro screen. At the Apple Store, they didn't have a Thunderbolt/Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, so he could not try that out for me.
Anyone else have this configuration or another similar one with a Panasonic HDTV?
    Ideas? Suggestions? Anything?! Help!!
P.S. I'm running Mountain Lion, if that wasn't already obvious. Everything is up to date in my App Store as well.
    Thanks!

    Hi There,
I have had the exact same issue but with a projector.
The issue lies with Mountian Lion 10.8.2.
I tried many a combination with no luck to get HDMI working.
Took my mac into the apple store and came to the conclusion it was the software, so I asked them to install 10.8 onto it (this is destructive so a backup is a must)
Bought my macbook home and voila, now displaying through my projector.
There is a small graphics update after 10.8.1 which seems to be the cause.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • Apple tv   viera cast 2008.  I want to add apple tv via hdmi connection, viera cast which has Amazon prime is already connected thru ethane port on tv.  my network is wifi from APE base and APX.  Will this set up work?

I want to add apple tv via hdmi connection , and I already have ethernet input of tv for my viera cast connection, which gets Amazon prime.  Wireless connection is APE base and APX,  Want to add
apple tv to get Netflix so I can cancel my xfinity premium channels.  Will this set up work.  p.s as you can tell I am a Mac novice.

Providing you have a free HDMI port on the TV and the location you would put the Apple TV will allow it to connect to your network, you should be good to go.

Your profile claims Apple TV 2. 1080p is only available withe the Apple TV 3. Apple TV 2 is maxed out at 720p.
    Hope that helps

  • Will Airport Extreme Network with Panasonic Viera TC-P50ST30

Will Airport Extreme Network work properly with Panasonic Viera TC-P50ST30 HDTV?

I don't have this particular model, but I do have a Panasonic TC-P42GT25 plasma which has no difficulties accessing the Internet through my 4th Gen AirPort Extreme Base Station or 4th Gen Time Capsule.

  • New iMac mini DisplayPort to Panasonic Viera HDMI overrides Viera Link Soundbar

I've just bought a new iMac 27 inch. I've connected it to my Panasonic Viera TV via a Belkin Mini DisplayPort and Belkin HDMI 5m cable into the tv's HDMI port. The Viera Link Soundbar is connected via the ARC HDMI2 port. When the imac HDMI is connected to the TV it seems to override the ARC Viera Link and cuts out the normal TV out put even when the settings to the TV are switched of on the imac.  It's really difficult to explain.

Yes but is there way to leave it plugged in but disable it somehow? I don't want to have to plug and unplug the HDMI cable. Would Apple TV fix this issue?

  • Macbook pro to Panasonic Viera GT30 TV?

I have a brand new 15 inch Macbook pro with a high res antiglare screen. I connected it to my brand new Panasonic Viera GT30 plasma TV via an HDMI cable and a Moshi minidisplay port to HDMI adapter. The computer is in mirror mode and the resultion automatically goes to 1080p. The desktop does appear on the television, however the problem is that the picture that appers ont the TV does not fit the whole screen. the top and bottom is cut off slightly and the right and left have blak bars on them. Why is this? Is there anyway to fix this?
Every video i watch of people hooking up their new macs to their tv's shows the desktop or video they r playing filling the whole tv screen. I would like to do the same. Thx!

  • Air does not display on Panasonic VIera with VGS and mini adaptor

I have the mini vga adaptor and my air works on our Dell monitor, however when plugging it into our TV - Panasonic Viera around 4 years old LCD, nothing happens - ie you select PC and the screen is black. Our old powerbook used to work.
Do I need to hit a button or set something up?

If you mean the mirror icon it is because you need OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion so you will need to purchase it from the app store.  There is also a third party app called airparrot, www.airparrot.com.

  • Airport express stream to panasonic viera

    Help please.
I have an airport express that will not play through my Panasonic Viera plasma tv. I am streaming from my macbook pro to the airport express because I tested it by plugging in headphones to the airport express. I am plugged into the tv via mini jack on the AE to audio jack to the tv. I have tried plugging into several inputs (comp1, comp2, video1, video2) with no success. I have also been through the menu for any settings that I may need to change. Am I missing something?

Panasonic plasmas will not play audio unless there is a picture. I see you mentioned connecting audio to the component and video 2 inputs, but did you connect a video connection to these inputs?
If the plasma is playing picture and audio from a standard video device on a composite connection (video 2) and it works fine - there is video and audio connected. The same is true for component as far back as Plasmas have had
    tuners (2003).
    No video = No Audio

  • A question about Panasonic Viera TCP46S2 ,wireless capatibility?

I bought a Panasonic Viera 46" TCP 46 S2 from Best Buy in June 2010. I want to know if I can watch TV from my lap top wireless instead of using HDMI cable? If TV can be wireless, what wireless adapter do I need to purchase?

The TV alone is not equipped for this. If memory serves me correctly, the S2 does not even have a VGA port. You wouldn't want your start menu or icons burning into the tv either, this is why early plasma didn't support a computer input.
Your best solution is to find a DLNA compatible device and share the movies files you downloaded. The DLNA device will then see these files and will basically pull them from your computer. This may also require some 3rd-party software. An xbox or a playstation is also capable of doing this as I've done it before.
