Parallel Ledger APC Values Via A Clearing Account

Hi Folks,
Would appreciate any help you can with this.
Situation :
Fixed Assets is not integrated with Vendor Payables.
Fixed Assets is set up with Real and Delta Depreciation Areas.
When an Invoice is posted in Vendor Payables the offset is to a Fixed Assets Clearing Account - this Document updates the Leading Ledger and all Non Leading Parallel Ledgers with the same amount.
When the amount is posted against the Asset via ABSO the offset is the Fixed Assets Clearing Account.
The problem is :
If there are different APC values between IFRS and Local GAAP this leaves the amount equal to the Delta posting sitting in the clearing account for the Local GAAP Ledger.
Is there any way to change this behaviour or a different process to be followed ?. not sure what can be done with this delta amount left in the Ledger specifc clearing account.
Thanks,
Andrew

HI,
I am not sure if it is helpful but what you can do is to define an asset movement type limited to a valuation area, which allows you to post for example acquisitions only in on valuation area, but not in the other one.
Thus you can post ABSO with one asset movement type for one valuation area (APC-value X) for another valuation area use another movement type and post APC value Y.
Anyway the difference of the APC value (thats not ativated) needs to be posted to an P&L account.
Maybe there are other/better suggestions from other people.
Best regards, Christian

  • Comparison parallel ledger app. with parallel account app. in terms of IFRS

    Hİ ALL,
we would like to know what is the advantages of using parallel ledger approach for transition to IFRS in SAP instead of using parallel account approach?
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
Currently I am making a similar review - account based versus parallel ledger. The pro's of the of parallel ledger are the con's of account based and vice versa:
    Parallel ledger - Pros
    - G/L accounts: fewer G/L accounts required (so opportunity to reduce SCOA), same G/L accounts are shared across all ledgers - unified reporting
    - Fiscal year variant: company codes with different fiscal year variants assigned to a separate ledger, facilitating consolidated reporting
    - Posting period variant: postings to ledgers can be separately controlled by assigning a separate posting period variant for the ledger
    - Carry forward: no need to maintain separate retained earnings accounts per accounting principle
    - Currency valuations and translations: Automated postings updated to appropriate ledgers based on the assignment to relevant accounting principles
    - Adjustment and value postings: Adjustment and value postings, such as reclassification are automatically posted to the appropriate ledgers
    - Standard reports: standard reports are executed by ledger
    Parallel ledger - Cons
    - The data volume could increase as a result ofmaintaining parallel ledgers (see SAP note 820495 for tips on resolving the issue)
    - Parallel ledger is a new concept at my customer so it requires a complete revamp of system configuation, with all the impact on processes and people, all old local reports (using special ledger) will become obsolete.
Hope this helps. By the way: we have chosen to move from account-based to parallel ledger despite the implementation effort.

  • Parallel Ledger Depreciation area

    Dear all,
I have 2 depreaciation areas one for local GAAP and other for IFRS . The amount to be capitalised will be differenent in each area in some circumtances.
In ECC 6.0 the parallel ledger book value area will take APC values from book value area 01.
I created a separate do type AP with external numbering, ut unable ti hit the parallel area with direct postings.
For ex; amount to be capitalised in area 01 is 10000 whereas it is 12000 in area 32 , parallel book value area.
Could anyone please suggest how to go about this?
    Thanks,
    vamsi

    Hi Mamta,
Thanks for the reply. I have done all the necessary config settings like creation of parallel depn areas and a separate doc type for ledger entry view etc.
Now my question how do I post the additions / adjustments in book value only to Parallel ledger area.
For ex: area 01- book depn
               area  30- parallel depn area
               area  60 - delata for 30 and 01
create a new doc type called Zafor entry view
Intilly booked book value fo 1200 in all ledgers. But in area 60 i.e parallel ledger book value area I need to capitalise an additional amount of 200. How do I do this? what is the T.code ,  is it ASKb?
I need to post an amount to the asset only in parallel ledger. i we use FB01L system doesnt allow you to do subledger postings.
hope I am clear with my question.
    Thanks,

  • Parallel accounting - different APC values for different ledgers

< MODERATOR:  Please don't post in multiple forums.  Message locked.  Please review the [forum rules|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/home/rulesofEngagement]>
    Hi all,
I defined the following 3 depreciation areas:
    01 - IFRS - posts in realtime / target ledger grp = 0L
    30 - local - posts depreciation only / target ledger grp = Z1
    60 - difference 30-01 - posts only APC directly / target ledger grp = Z1
    0L contains leading ledger (IFRS)
    Z1 contains parallel ledger (local)
Then I defined a new transaction type for acquisition (e.g. Z10) and limited it to depreciation area 01. This transaction type I wanted to use for acquisitions which are relevant only for IFRS ledger.
Now I post an $1000 invoice using transaction F-90 (acquisition with vendor). I select posting key 70, in the field Account I select an asset under construction and I choose the transaction type Z10.
After proceeding this step I would expect that the amount $1000 would be posted only in IFRS ledger. But it is not, it is posted in both ledgers.
If I want to run the transaction ASKB (APC values posting), I get an error message "Account 14001 in company code 0100 cannot be directly posted to". The account 14001 is the acquisition account for the AuC used when posting the invoice.
Why I get this message? How can I get the values posted correctly (i.e. only to IFRS ledger)?
    Thanks for all ideas
    Zbynek

Did you get a solution to your issue.?
Would you please mind sharing your solution ?
I am in a similar situation where we have area 01 as local Gapp and area 15 as IFRS.
we want to have 01 posted to leading and 15 to nonleading ledgers.
    thanks.

  • Post Accounting Entries only in Parallel Ledger

    Hi All,
I am activating Parallel Ledger (Parallel Currency: USD) in a SAP system which has already gone "LIVE".
In our data conversion exericise, migration GL accounts will be created where all USD translation differences that arise will remain in these migration GL accounts.
Thus I would like to ask if there is any transaction T-Code where I can clear the USD translation difference amount sitting in the migration GL accounts,i.e. to post only in the Parallel Ledger without creating postings in the General Ledger (Leading Ledger).
    Thank you for your time!!

    Hi Sunil!
Thank you for the prompt feeback!
    F-05 is very useful. But I can't seem to find a T-Code with FB50L.
Are we looking at FB50? If it is FB50, where can I determine in the document entry the Ledger Im posting to. By the way Im using SAP 4.7.

  • Value difference for GR/IR Clearing Account in case of MIGO and MIRO.

My concern is that GR/IR Clearing Account consider only Material cost and non deductible tax amount i.e. CST which is loaded on material cost but system consider some different values, please check the above calculation. When user post MIRO in that case system automatically konck off GR/IR Clearing Account and post difference amount i.e. RS. 4279 to Inventory Account which is wrong. • GR/IR clearing account showing wrong values (F.19)

    Hello,
At my company, they run the MR11 to check for GR/IR variances and then clear these variances using the F.13 transaction. However, when the F.19 transaction is run to analyze the GR/IR clearing account, there are some old PO's belonging to year 2005/2006 that still show up in the report. When these PO's are checked, there is no GR/IR variance.
Could someone please explain the reason for this and if there is any way to remove these entries from the F.19 report?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rugmani.

Yes, you can do F.19 in month 6.
The posting will happen on the posting date provided in the "Postings" tab of F.19 (Provided that period is open in OB52.)

    HI
Please pay attention at  the possible causes of message AU133:
    1. Error AU133:
       a) You have not defined a contra account for acquisition value postings in the Asset Accounting Customizing settings (Transaction AO90).However, this is required as of Release 4.6C because, as is the case for all other integration postings in Asset Accounting, invoice receipt postings have to be displayed in Asset Accounting via the new posting kernel to ensure an identical document
    structure.
       b) You have defined the account in Asset Accounting, however, it is not created in the affected company code.Check whether the account is correct and create it for the company code, if necessary.

for the 'Contra account: Down payment posting'.
    3. As "Contra account: Acquisition value posting" you entered an asset G/L account. If necessary change the automatic posting indicator in the G/L account master record.

  • APC value periodic posting?

    Hi,
In fixed asset, i don't how what is apc value perdiodic posting. And why use apc value periodic posting?
    Thanks, point will be rewarded.
    Regards,
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
APC periodic reposting (T.code ASKB)is done to post the acquisition values to the same asset for a different set of GL accounts.
For ex: If the co.code has to maintian its ledgers in 2 separate sets of books like 1.Operationg COA 2. Country specific COA then we have to post the book values to these separate list of accopunts for 1 transaction. To eanble this we have to create a separate depreciation area which will maintain the country specific accounts. Since in FI-AA we can only have 1 depreciation area as "real time" deprecaition area we should create this area as periodic update for postings.
Hence we need to to <b>askb</b> as soon as we do a regular acuisition postings (ao90) to the operating COA deprecaition area which is usually Area 01.
This way system will update the parallel set of accounts maintained with the acquisition values.
    Hope this is clear.
Please let me know if you need any further clarification.
Pls assign points if this is helpful.
    Thanks,
    Vamsi

  • Double Posting in Parallel Ledger

    Hello Gurus
We have Non-US company codes and have various depreciation areas assigned to it. Area 01 is main assigned to leading ledger 0L and area 30 is USGAAP assigned to L1 ( parallel Ledger). Area 01 Post real time and Area 30 is "Area post APC Directly and Depreciation.
Everything was working fine. Area 01 and L1 were getting correct postings. Recently due to client requirement for treatment of their Composite assets, we make certain adjustments in area 30 and area 01 differently. Like area 01 does not get any posting and area 30 get some adjustment posting and we do through Z transaction types. To achieve this we had to run periodic posting and thus assigned ZA document type to company codes of Mexico.
With this what is now happening is
When we post 10000 MXN to asset, Area 01 gets 10000 but area 30 which is L1 gets 20000.
To resolve this issue we tried various options like, If we
Assign Area post depreciation only to area 30 then it works fine but then our treatment of composite does not work
If we assign area post APC and depreciation on periodic basis, then it again doubles but doubles when we run ASKBN.
Please advise. It is real serious issue here.
    Thanks

    Hi Jean,
now I am astonished. Ok, I do not know your Support tickets, and I don´t know which bad OSS notes you mean. But your statement that you always get double postings is not correct if you follow the guideline how to set up your scenario with 2 different ledger (groups).
The documentation can be found in the SAP Help Portal here: Parallel Accounting in Asset Accounting  .
There you find the link to the chapter "Parallel Ledgers in Asset Accounting", which contains detailed information and configuration steps to fulfill this requirement.
If you want to post 2 areas to G/L to different ledger groups, then the official SAP proposal is to use the so called "Ledger Scenario". In that scenario your alternative valuation does only post depreciation to G/L, so that you do not get double postings. If you have valuation differences, which appear automatically through different APC amounts or different value adjustments at retirement, then a derived depreciation area will post these differences ledger specific to your alternative valuation.
I admit that this scenario is not the most convenient, but it will provide the full functionality of parallel valuation at ledger (group) level.
The only real big limitation existing is that you can not really use different fiscal year variants within the valuation areas. But the basic requirement under which this thread was opened should work without problems.

    Markus

  • Gr/ir clearing account difference

i what cases gr/ir clearing account from migo can be differ from  gr/ir clearing account from miro.
suppose at the time of migo gr/ ir clearing account credited with 100 rs then at the time of miro can it be  debited with 80 or 120? i
f it can then plz tell me the cases.

    Hi
The system makes postings to GR/IR clearing accounts at the time of goods receipt. If, for example, the delivered quantity for a purchase order item is not equal to the invoiced quantity, there is a balance on the GR/IR clearing account.
The person responsible for account maintenance lists the purchase order history with the differences. In order to archive invoice documents, the difference must be cleared. If the balance is not cleared by more goods receipts, return deliveries, invoices, or credit memos, the person responsible for account maintenance has to clear the difference manually.
    For GR/IR maintenance refer Tcode-MR11.
MR11 is designed to show the GRs that have not yet been fully invoiced and the invoices that have not yet been fully received.
In any normal business situation there will always be some invoices for items that have not yet been received and some receipts that have not yet been invoiced. But MR11 is designed to be used to clear the OLD ones that are probably NEVER going to be completed.
So you would run MR11 with a date in the past (a few months old normally) and anything that has still got a balance (either way) could indicate that you will never get these cleared no matter how long you wait.
So you can use this transaction to clear these documents.
The best way to use it is to run it firstly with very small tolerances (value and value percentage) and very old dates. For example any PO older than 6 months that has a balance of less than 10 USD. You would prepare the list intially (without update) and see the proposed effect. If you were happy with this you can then run it in update mode and clear those documents. This will post any outstanding values correctly and close down the PO.
For example if you had a PO where you had received 99 and the invoice was for 100, the system would increase the stock value of those 99 by 1 to reflect that we paid 100 for those 99 items (and close the PO)
Similarly if you received 100 and were invoiced for 99 the clearing would reduce the stock value by 1
Both examples are affected by the valuation type (Std price or MAP) but the end result is the same.
After running it like this with small differences, the only uncleared items left would be the recent ones, or the "old" ones that have a bigger difference. You can then run MR11 with larger tolerances, view what would happen and either re run the same selection with update instead of list and clear these.
You would eventually finish up with a manageable number of POs that don't balance and the value difference is quite large. You would then have to decide if you want to leave them as they are and wait for the open amount to be invoiced (or GRd), or you can manually clear them by selecting the individual line and then selecting the clear from the menu options.
At the end of this process you should only have POs that are awaiting further postings.
You would also have to financially clear the entries that have been cleared in MR11 but this would be via the normal financial clearing transactions.
    reward if helps,
    regards
    rb

  • Parallel ledger - activation

    Hello,
we have new General Ledger (ECC 5.0) for two years. During this year we decided to use paralel ledger for IAS / IFRS purposes from 1.1.2007 backwards.
We have activated the additional parallel ledger according to SAP documentation. Now we need the balances and open items for all accounts, but we can´t find the way. In customizing are the tools which ask for migration plan. The migration plan is possible to create only for data migration from classic GL into new GL. We tried to find some solution within OSS, but notes describe the problems which appear during data migration from classic to new GL.
I would like to ask you if it is possible to create parallel ledger during the year ? How we can fill new parallel ledger with balances of accounts from previous year and periods for year 2007?
Has anybody with this any experience or do you have any new documentation ?
    thanks in advance
    dana schlachtova

Paralle ledger activation in the middle of the year is very dangerous for the previously posted open items.
At the time of clearing system try to post the entries in the parallel ledgers. But parallel ledger not available in the previous postings.
It will result adverse results in most of the transactions. Please check and take necessary action
