Parametrized relation connections - don't work when source and target are different

Hi All,I have next problem:I am using parametrized relation connection firstConnection (user and (encripted)password are taken from parameter file). Here are values from param file: $DBConnection_source=firstConnection$DBConnection_source=firstConnection$ParamUser=svaba$ParamPwd=Dni32iRiH0Yjro1U04+RTC==  This is (source and target are same) working fine for years.
But now I need two different connection, i.e. source is (existing)   firstConnection and target is secondConnection. On both instances I have same user
  (svaba) with same password. I created second parameterized connection with user = $ParamUser    and password = $ParamPwd     Now, parameters are: $DBConnection_source=firstConnection$DBConnection_source=secondConnection$ParamUser=svaba$ParamPwd=Dni32iRiH0Yjro1U04+RTC== When run workflow, got error: ORA-01005: null password given: logon denied.I triede to change connections by entering values for password (not use parameters for password) got error: ORA-01017:invalid username/password:logon denied.When I am using same (parametrized) connection for source and target (any of these two) everything is fine. That is sign that connections are good. Does someone have any idea about this problem

Single Code Page Unicode conversion when source and target are the same

Hi everyone. We have recently upgraded our non-unicode 4.7 to ECC6 non-unicode. Now we have begun researching the next step to convert to Unicode. I know we could have done the Combined Upgrade and Unicode Conversion but I wanted to do thorough testing after the upgrade to eliminate too many variables if problems arose.
So, my question is...has anyone done the Unicode conversion when source and target servers are the same? Most documentation I've seen recommends a system copy to another box first. I did find one forum thread that gave a high level approach to doing the conversion with just one server and listed this:
Step 1:- Run Tcode SPUMG to scan
Step 2:- Export Database
Step 3:- Drop Database
Step 4:- Create New Database
Step 5:- Import database
Step 6:- Chnage unicode Kernel
What are your thoughts? Is it supported? Am I wasting my time and should I just bite the bullet and buy yet another system? Thanks in advance.

Theoretically that's possible, yes. However...

the import must be done using the Unicode kernel.
So basically you can
- export the old systm
- uninstall system + database
- start as if you were installing "from scratch" on a new box

1) Is it necessary to create the mapping program?
2) If no need of mapping program what you will mention in the Interface Mapping?
3) In ID part which objects no need to create when both structures are same?

Dont define mapping and iterface mapping.

You cannt assign a interface mapping as it is not defined in IR. leave that as interface mapping is not mandatory in Interface Determination Step.

Standby Database on a Source and target of different endian formats

Checking the Database Before Cross-Platform Database Conversion
As explained in "Basic Concepts of Cross-Platform Data Transportation", you can use the RMAN CONVERT DATABASE command to automate the copying of an entire database from one platform to another.
Before converting the database, see the list of CONVERT DATABASE command prerequisites described in Oracle Database Backup and Recovery Reference. Confirm that you meet all these prerequisites before attempting the procedure in this section.
One prerequisite is that both the source and destination platform must share the same endian format. For example, you can transport a database from Microsoft Windows to Linux for x86 (both little-endian), or from HP-UX to AIX (both big-endian), but not from HP-UX to Linux for x86 (big-endian to little-endian).
Note:
If you cannot use the CONVERT DATABASE command because the platforms do not share endian formats, then you can create a new database on a destination platform manually and transport needed tablespaces from the source database with cross-platform transportable tablespaces.

New Mac: Why are CC and Photoshop Elements not working when Lightroom and Reader are fine

Last week I changed computers (swapping an old Mac for a 13-in MacBook Pro Retina running OSX Yosemite 10.10.3. I copied all my data over to the new machine using Migration Assistant.
All programs work fine (including my copy of Lightroom 3 and Reader XI). But my CC and Photoshop Elements 10 do not. I have tried uninstalling both, but whenever I try to reinstall PE10 from its disk or download it just stops almost at the end. I then I get an "initiation failed" message, along with a request to download the now defunct "Support Advisor" app!
I cannot download Adobe Application Manager, or the CC desktop app either - for the former I get an "initiation failed" message, along with the "download Support Advisor" app" message again! For the latter I get a message saying "Adobe Creative Cloud Is Needed to Resolve this problem - however it is missing or damaged." Then I get a message and a link to download Creative Cloud. Then when I've downloaded it and I click on the installer... it runs for a bit and then I get the message again: "Adobe Creative Cloud Is Needed to Resolve this problem - however it is missing or damaged." And I get a prompt and link to download the CC app. Guess what happens next? And so it goes on. And on and on, in a tedious circle.
This is incredibly annoying and frustrating as I have work to do! Anyone have any ideas what's happening?

do not use migration to install adobe programs.
you should uninstall and clean whatever you've done, Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
then dl the cc desktop app to your new computer and use it to install your adobe cc programs, Download Adobe Creative Cloud apps | Free Adobe CC trial

Setting up a project where source and destination are different formats

Howdy...
I'm a recent Vegas user who is just switching over to FCP6.
My question is this: When your source footage and destination format are two unrelated formats (for instance, HDV for source footage, Apple-TV H264 for destination), is it better to set up the project for your source footage format, or for your destination format?
In Vegas it didn't really matter, but it was good to use the destination format because you could preview what it'd look like at the size and frame-rate that you were going to end up in.
In FCP6, however, it seems that importing HDV into a H264 project may not work as well, becuase it wants to render the footage into the correct format before you can preview it.
FYI: The final desitnation is my gadget podcast, http://www.neo-fight.tv, which I have shot on HDV and edited on Vegas for the past year. FCP is very new to me, but I'm enjoying learning something new.

Hi Benjamin - Prior to fcs 2 I worked in whatever my capture format was and will still continue to do that. I plan to use ProRes now - but if I was coming from an hdv source I'd prolly opt to capture using DVCPro HD and working in that.

As far as working in .h264 is concerned and combining other formats into that I really don't know.
h264 for me is a delivery format - so I'd opt to still work in native capture format and then transcode/convert at the end. More options ....

Best practice deployment - Solaris source and target

Hi,
What is the recommended deployment guide for an ODI instance under Solaris. I have a sybase source and an Oracle target, both of which are on Solaris. I plan to put my ODI master and work repository on another Oracle DB on the solaris target machine. Now where does my agent sit, since my source and target are solaris ?? I plan to administer ODI from my windows clients but :-
Where and how do I configure my agent so that I can schedule scenarios. It would make most sense to be able to run the agent on my target solaris machine , is this possible ?? If not then do I have to have a separate windows server that is used to run the agent and schedule the jobs ??

thanks for the reply. I cant find anything in the installation guide about Solaris specifically but it mentions to follow the instructions for "Installing the Java Agent on iSeries and AS/400" where the download o/s is not supported.
So it seems I just need make some directories on the solaris host and to manually copy files into s these directories and as long as java sdk/runtime is there I can use the shell scripts (eg. agentshceduler.sh ) to start and stop the agent.
So my question I guess is since the os supported downloads are only windows and Linux, where do I copy the files from, the Linux ones ?? Is it right to say that since these are java programs I should be able to copy the Linux ones and use them under Solaris ??
I dont have the Solaris environment at hand to test this just yet.... hence the questions....

Application signing don't work when you build captive runtime bundle package which include icons. Don't matter application icons or associated file types icons. It works fine when you build application bundle without icons.

My links don't work when I combine another file with the pdf

My internal bookmarked links don't work when I combine another file with the pdf.
The external links continue to work fine, though.
This doesn't make any sense to me at all ... but I'm hoping one of you kind folk can help?

I opened my file and instead of merging files I used insert pages and inserted all of the pages from the file I wanted. Then I saved the file with
the same name. Attached is a rough draft of some helpful hints I put together. This has been a very painful process for us to discover how to handle
this and there really is not much help from Adobe.
Instead of merging files you inset pages. In Acrobat select Document - Insert pages -From file. You can select all pages or some and where you want them inserted. After you do that save the file not save as and all of your links should work. If you combine files or merge files all of the links will break.

I think it's something to do with naming, but I can't figure out what. This is because it asks to be saved and gives me a Binder no as the name. If I
press Cancel at that point, I keep the file and the links. But as soon as I need to close it, it asks me again 'Do you want to save this file' and if
I say 'Yes', I lose all the links, and if yet if I say 'No', I lose the whole file. So at some point it has to be saved but whether I keep the Binder
no name when I save it, or use the original name, it makes no difference ... it is in the saving of it that it looks the functionality, and yet, if I
don't save it, I lose the file.
This makes no sense to me....I hope it does to one of you.
For instance, Christine, how did you keep your file if you couldn't save it?

WRT300N wireless connection will not work when a wired computer is online line

I have an ATT DSL connection. I have no problems accessing the internet when the when my two wired Desktop PCs are online. However, when I try to access the wireless connection through my Laptop (when the Desktop PCs are on) I get a message that Windows could not "Connect to the Wireless Network." However, when I turn off the desktop PCs my Laptop searches for and is able to access the internet. Solutions anyone?

The operating system for the Laptop is XP. The IP address of the modem is 192.168.0.1. The IP address for router is 192.168.1.1

Issue in OWB mapping - when changing source and target database

I need help for resolution of the issue I am facing when moving mapping from development environment to QA.
Here is situation,
We develop ETL using one source, one staging and one target database.
In development we use one control_center for Source to staging and another control center staging to target.
All works fine in development.
Now I have created new runtime repository and imported all OWB projects (with full dependencies, exact replica of development). Now I need to change source and staging and target as different database.
I have created new database location connections and defined/attached DB connectors with stage and target location.
Now issues are
1.     Two Staging mapping are not able to bound with source table (giving different error
a.     One mapping show error for source synonym translation no longer valid when deploying this mapping , but validation comes without any issue)
b.     Other mapping show error for source table/object not bound to repository
2.     All the target mapping show validation successful, but when deploying says “table or view does not exist”. But tables are exists on source stage and target. (also permission are set correctly for target user to read from staging tables).
Not sure how to proceed from here.
I have recreated new repository and re-imported all project/mappings and defined all connection but still same issue.

The above error were resolved when re-synchronized the table (for few I have to reimport the table) and mapping.

For the above I have defined one Staging location to one target target location and target location have connector to staging (not sure if I have to define connector name same as staging location, as I have created DB connector with different name but reference database is same as staging location).
Mapping are assoicated with desired data locatoin and meta data.
control center is also have that data location.
Mapping are configured for the desired location.

Connecting the source and target schemas to ODI

I have recently started learning ODI tool for data integration. I need to use this tool as a part of Deal Management product related work.
I have gone thru the documentation available in OTN for ODI. they were describing everything using the demo environment.
problem:
Can any one please tell me how to connect source schema and target schema to the ODI ...?
Both the source and target schema are in the Oracle database of the loaclhost.

Right Click ur Dataserver , In the bottom u will have option insert physical schema.
Click that u will have window opened........
In the Definition Tab:
Specify ur Schema name and Work schema .......u r going to use .
Enable the default option also....
In Context Tab:
Specify ur context Name and Type in the Name u want to have for ur logical Schema, it autmatically creates the logical schema ...for u.
and click ok .

Ho comprato un adattatore originale Apple "lighitning to 30 pin adapter" per poter usare i mei vecchi cavi dell'iPhone4 con il nuovo iPhone5.
Se collego l'adattatore (con il vecchio cavo delliPhone4) direttamente all'iPhone5 , tutto funziona.
Ma se collego l'adattatore (con il vecchio cavo delliPhone4) all'iPhone5 tramite la "base dock" , l'adattatore non viene riconosciuto e non funziona.
Pensando che l'adattatore fosse rotto, ho riprovato con altri identici adattatori originali, ma il risultatato è lo stesso.
Quindi penso che potrebbe essere un errore di progettazione della base dock che supporta unicamente la connessione diretta tramite un cavo lighning e non supporta la connessione se in mezzo c'è l'adattatore !!
