Partner profile...port....logical system....!!!!!!!

Hello Everyone,
few stupid questions came to my mind but no  document cleard it, so thought that someone might throw some light on this.
<b>
What is logical system in R/3 and why do we create that ?
what do we mean by partner profile and what is its significance?
what is use of port...???</b>
<u>these all three parameters we look when we create outbound IDOCs for IDOC to file (of any other) scenario.</u>
thanks,
Pranav

Hi Pranav,
What is logical system in R/3 and why do we create that ?
A logical system is your R/3 address where you can distribute data to and from an R/3 system.
http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10464_05/integrate.904/b10299/ale.htm This link gives you a better idea of a logical system.
what do we mean by partner profile and what is its significance?
Based on an existing logical system, a partner profile is an identifier for a system used for communicating messages.
http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10465_01/integrate.904/b10408/ale.htm gives you a very good idea regarding partner profiles and ports.
Hope these help,
Regards
Kiran..

  • Idoc setup::Partner profile for Logical system

    HI All,
I am using Idocs to transmit my invoice details from ECC to PI, but every time I do this for a new customer I have to setup a partner profile for the customer whose invoice is to be sent. I setup the partner profile using WE20, I setup the partner profile for partner type KU(Customer) in the we20,
Is there any way we can setup partner profile for LS(Logical system) in we20 & I don't have to setup partner profile for each & every customer for which Idoc is to be generated.
Please provide some useful information/help to handle this business scenario.

  • Message determination and Partner function LS (Logical system) for PO

    Hi,
I have worked in the past with vendors (VN) as partner roles in a PO, with the message to create an EDI outpout to Partner Type: LI (Vendor), and this works succesfully.
Now, the idea was to use in EDI, a Partner Type: LS (Logical system) as a receiver of EDI messages (message types: ORDERS) for inbound Purchase Orders to the Partner.
So, we have set up a respective message condition, with Partner Function: LS  (Logical System), in transaction: MN04 (Create Output-condition records).
    A. When we use ME59N and create a PO with ref. from a PR (created from a sales order), the message determination works well, it reads the condition set in MN04 (condition records for messages), and creates a message (with output type for EDI , medium: 6, and partner function LS: Logical system). Message is created and idoc is sent to partner.
    B. When we try with ME21N, ME21 and we create the PO with ref. to the same PR, either by entering manually the PR in the document overview of ME21N or by selecting the PR (without entering the PR number), i.e with date, the message is not created in the PO.
Company code is assigned to purchase organization, and so is purchase organization to plant.
Any idea why there is no automatic message determination in the case of the transaction: ME21N?
There is a single message condition that is to be read for both cases (trans: ME59N and ME21N).
Note: If I try ME21N, and enter the output type and partner (=Logical System), manually, I receive a warning message :
VN006 (Partner XXXX does not exist for partner function LS). If I accept this warning message, then message is saved- idoc is sent.
However you can not assign a partner function LS to a vendor, in vendor master data, because of message CZ 327 (Can not use this partner role).
Anyone with similar experience? Thank you for your advice.

    Hi,
I well understand that the receiving partner can be a partner: Vendor (LI).
    I have seen that working.
However, in the Partner Profiles (trans: WE20), the receiver was created as a Logical System (LS).
We want the partner Logical system (LS) to receive the idoc for purchase order (ORDERS).
After that, I think that the idea is that the LS can generate an idoc for a sales order creation that will then outbound to another partner.  I think that this is the concept.
The issue is that I have seen that the POs created with transaction: ME59N, have received from message determination (trans: MN04) the message with partner LS (automatically), and the idoc of the purchase order (ORDERS) have reached the partner LS.
The question is why the message determination fails when creating the PO from trans: ME21N or ME21, with reference to the PR. Message condition is the same and message determination procedure is the same for both cases.
There is no issue with customizing for the LS in trans: WE20
(Port processing agent is Active for LS and ORDERS have the proper processing code for application EF).
I hope I am helping more with this.

  • WE20 use&E0336 EDI: Partner profile outbound logical message not available

    Hi
When I am creating the vendor master, after selecting payment advise by EDI tick under APP Transactions i am issued a warning message as Account XXX has not yet been agreed as being EDI partner  and its directing me to T.Code WE20.  What is the use of this.
I have maintained WE20 for the vendor and after running payment run (F110) with payment method as E (Electronic payments-BACS) payment medium file is getting created.  But when i go and see the SP01 in the error log the message is shown as E0336    EDI: Partner profile outbound logical message not available.
Can anybody explain what is the use of WE20 t.code and why i am getting the error message.
    Brahma

    Hi Deepak,
I am facing the same problem with a different message type.
But same effect. I can copy the IDoc with WE19 and it will process nicely, completely unchanged.
Have you found the reason for this?
    Thanks,
    Florian

  • Regenerating ports for Partner Profiles and Source System (RSA1)

    Hello all you SAP gurus,
During a recent backcopy we have an issue after updating Logical System names using BDLS. This has updated the Partner Profiles (WE20) correctly.
    BUT
These partner profiles are trying to use ports (WE21) that have been mistakenly deleted. But if we try to recreate the ports we get the message
-"Choose another name! Name range reserved!"-
This specific port is referenced in outbound parameters. Perhaps this is stopping the change?
We could create new ports and hook them up to the partner profiles, but I'm concerned that there might be other locations where the deleted ports are referenced.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi J,
You can try and disconnect and re-connect the BW System to R/3. That would force the recreation of the Partner Profile.
Take a look at the connection data in table RSBASIDOC, write down the parameters, especially the IDoc Type.
In SE37, run function RSAP_BIW_DISCONNECT_40 and specify parameters for BW System.
Then run RSAP_BIW_CONNECT_40 and specify those parameter again for the BW System.
This will recreate the Partner Profiles. Then check the assigned ports and see if you still have the same issue. Just make sure the RFC connection is set correctly and working in SM59 before doing all this.
In any case, you can create new ports in WE21 and allow the system to assign the numbers automatically and you won't have any issue.
    Hope it helps.

    Luis

  • Does it mean that, 1 CDM/Partner Profile/Port = 1 specific partner?

    Hi experts,
As I am beginner to IDoc concept, hv few doubts, like,
    1) Does it mean that the development of, 1 CDM(Distribution Model) / 1Partner Profile / 1Port = exclusively 1 specific partner? I mean, for instance the organisation possess 100 partners, so it means that it shuld hv 100 CDMs(Distribution Model) / 100 Partner Profiles / 100 Ports?
    2) For out bound direction, for a newly created IDoc sending Does it not necessory to create/use the Process code?
    3) If partner profiles r created, so the Ports r automatically cretaed in the system? Or we must create the ports explicitly?
    4) Does it means that The distribution of CDM from sender to receiver = Creation of new CDM in the receiving system for that particular partner?
    ThanQ in advance,
    Rgds,
    Sri.

    Hi,
    1) Does it mean that the development of, 1 CDM(Distribution Model) / 1Partner Profile / 1Port = exclusively 1 specific partner? I mean, for instance the organisation possess 100 partners, so it means that it shuld hv 100 CDMs(Distribution Model) / 100 Partner Profiles / 100 Ports?
It is not necessary exclusively but it can be (depend on your business process).
You could also have a single logical system and a single IDoc port for multi partner purposes. In this case, you can use message code and message function to segregate the partner data in receiver system/sender system.
    2) For outbound direction, for a newly created IDoc sending Does it not necessory to create/use the Process code?
For transactional data i.e sales order, billing, delivery and etc., you still need to use process code via message control setup (in partner profile). However, for master data distribution i.e material master, vendor master, customer master and so on,  you do not need to setup process code in the partner profile. The extraction program will call corresponding FM to generate and distribute the IDoc.
    3) If partner profiles are created, so the Ports r automatically cretaed in the system? Or we must create the ports explicitly?
You can use existing IDoc port for new created partner profile or you can create new port via transaction WE21. System will not create automatically the port. You need to link to correponding message type in partner profile (WE20).
    4) Does it means that The distribution of CDM from sender to receiver = Creation of new CDM in the receiving system for that particular partner?
If both sender and receiver systems are SAP then you need to setup distribution model (BD64) for both system. Otherwise, if only one SAP system involved and other is external system then you need only to setup one distribution model.
    Hoep this will help.

  • Partner type -only logical system?

    Hi!
I have a scenario where I want to send an idoc to SAP using XI idoc adapter. It works fine using a partner type "logical system" (LS). But now i would like a scenario where the partner i a type "customer" (KU). I have defined a new business system in the SLD as a sender (just in case) and the partner of course exist in SAP under customers). I have also mapped the korrekt values to the IDOC (sndprt, sndpor and so on) -but these are of course overwritten using the values from the SLD (which only operates using logical system). Is there a way to integrate using a partner of type customer? I have made a similar scenario work using the Business Connector -what is the missing link to make it work in XI?
    best regards

    Hi Martin,

This is not foreseen in XI 2.0. You need to wait for XI 3.0, there it will be possible.

  • Using SYPART01 IDOC for setting partner profiles from external system

Is there any existing interface for doing this.
It seems that the sypart message is only for output, not input.

  • BDLS: Partner profiles not change - System Landscape Copy (SRM+HCM+ERP)

    Hello,
Can anybody help me for system copy i.e. production to quality.
    System Landscape:
    - 1 central HCM System
    - 1 central SRM System
    - 6 Backend Systems (ERP)
Problem: Change Log. Systemnames (SALE) and Partner Profiles (WE20) and ALE-Distribution Model (BD64).
We run BDLS (change RFC/log.Systemnames/ change BD64), but we have problems with Partner Profiles (WE20). Which do not change !
    Anybody knows this problem?
    What can I do?
    Thanks, Silke

Running BDLS would not normally revert the setting for the partner profiles. You could either load it again via backup transport or make new entries accordingly to the specific settings prior to the system copy.

  • Generating partner profile for File to Idoc(CREMAS) scenario.

    Dear friend,
Completed all the steps in SLD, IR and ID.
I do not know how to create Partner profile and I skipped this step.
While testing I got the error "Unable to convert sender service  to an ALE logical system".
I think i got this error because I have not created partner profile.
Could anybody tell step by step process of creating partner profile including logical system names( Sender and Receiver)?
I have seen many blogs and i couldn't get clear picture on how to generate partner profile.
My sender system is XI server and receiver is R/3.
I have created RFC destination, Port also.
    Thanks in Advance
    Chiru

generally u create partner profiles using transaction WE20.
    SAP Menu -> Tools -> IDoc Interface/ALE -> Administration -> Runtime Settings -> Partner Agreement (WE20).
go through this link for step  by steps

  • Partner Profile - LS

I have two decentralized system which needs to receive ASN and POs from SAP.  Each of these systems consist of 3 plants.  How would I set up the Partner profile to group the 3 plants under on each decentralized system?
Would I set up the partner profile with a partner type of Vendor(plant) or is there a way to set up the partner profile as Logical System and somehow group the 3 plants under each logical system?
I have seen a screen in SAP which allows you to put a small bit of ABAP during a partner function call, but I don’t remember the transaction.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

you can make it by having two seperate output types defined for each receiving systems.
For example ZNE1 for system 1,ZNE2 for system 2.
Maitain cond. records for the plants.
So based on the plant system proposes the output.
Now you have got the output proposed.
next thing define the two logical system reprsents the receiving systems.
Then use BD64 to define the distribution model whereas you specfiy sendinf system 'YOUR SYSTEM' Receiving system 'LS_RECVSYS1' message type 'ORDERS' and save it.
Then again add another entry Receiving system 'LS_RECVSYS2' and message type 'ORDERS'.
maintain partner profiles for the two logical systems.
specify the output type ZNE1 and application as EF for LS_RECVSYS1.
specify the output type ZNE2 and application as EF for LS_RECVSYS1.
This is done to send out the purchase order.
different output types specified under message control tab makes the system to decide which system should get the outbound IDOC.
So the flow is like, you have the output proposed for 3 Plants, system checks the partner profiles. Then it check for ALE dist. model to get the actual rec. system to send out the IDOC.
Same procedure can be followed for sending out ASN too.
    This works .

  • Generate WP_PLUXX to a logical system(LS) instead of store customer(KU)

    Hi Guys,
Is is possible to generate an WP_PLUXX idoc to a partner profile of logical system without having store created as a partner profile?
We have a situation wherein the messages(new articles, price changes etc) belonging to different stores (from SAP) are received in a central hub and then transmitted to the individual stores from the central hub.
    Regards,
    Selvakumar

Hi Venu, Thanks for your reply but still the problem exists.
    1) Are you saying that the partner profile of type KU is to be created for Reference store(R110) that is assigned in the client level configuration "Logistics General - Basic data retail - General control, retail master data"?
I tried with this option, but it is still not recognizing the partner profile of ref store (R110) as it used to recognize the individual store as partner profile. So as a result I getting the error as "29 - Error in ALE service" with message as "Entry in outbound table not found".
I did couple of analysis in the programs associated with WPMA and WPMU and understood that the system picks up the customer number from the T001W table and it is looking for existence of partner profile for the same customer number in EDP13 table (which is not in our case). Can someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Also is there any standard option to trigger the idocs WP_PLUXX or WBBDLDXX to a logical system partner type without having to create the individual partner profile for each stores?
Let me know if you need any further clarifications.

    Selvakumar

  • Partner profiles for EDI

What is the "Partner Profiles for Logical Systems" when maintaining partner profiles for EDI.
Which kind of partner profile we use when sending payments like wire and ach through bank. Don't we use partner type B for bank or do we use partner tupe LS (logical systesm)?????

    Hi
LS - Logical system is used for ALE interface , That is interaction with SAP clicnets whether in the Same Server or External servers.
Main usage is in Intercompany billing where the Different copmnay codes are maintained in different clients
Each clicent in SAP has a Logical system Defined to it.

  • How to trigger EDI output type by logical system

    Hi,
I am trying to propose a delivery output on delivery document based on logical system.
I have maintained partner profile by logical system. In the partner profile, i have given the delivery output type and the process code.
I have also maintained condition records for the delivery output.
I would like the system to propose the delivery output not by ship to party or sold to party but by the logical system.
Because i do not want to maintain 3000 customers in the partner profiles, instead trigger the output by logical system.
Please let me know, if anyone has gone thru this situation and resolved.
    Thank you in advance.
    -Naga

    Hi,
First thing you should make sure that, when you create the output type , partner function should have an entry for EDI - LS combination.
Secondly , make sure you have option for EDI transmission on the output type (medium 6).
Third, when you create partner profile for LS, make sure you give partner function as LS, even though SAP gives warning that its not required.
Last but not least, i didnt create any distribution model , because when i created distribution model and generate partner profile, system was not generating the profile properly.
I am not sure, whatever i did was right, but its working for me.
