Password Manager - another one

Why does PM not startup for many logins, for example I joined this forum only moments ago and yet when I login PM does not prompt me to remember the login etc. I have had to actually go into PM on occasion and create a login entry but it doesn't seem to kick in. Is this the way the various webpage or apps are built or is PM not as good as its supposed ot be? It doesn't seem to 'manage' very well at all.
And surely, Lenovo would make PM their own site logins etc!

The problems with Firefox and the password manager specifically are a result of Lenovos failure to make a commitment to timely and frequent software updates, which we, as customers, have paid for.
If you check your addons window in Firefox, you'll notice the ThinkVantage password manager add-on is out-dated, and the code has not been updated to work with 3.5xxxx.
Especially frustrating is the fact that the Firefox community has made available to developers, for MONTHS the resources needed to correct this - but they haven't bothered.
47 Percent of users are using firefox, and a growing number of people, almost 10 percent, are using Chrome.
If I had to venture a guess, I would say that we are going to be left in the dark with regards to this for a while...

Just have bought an ipad2 and i would like to manage several IDs on my computer (i.e keep my iPhone ID and create another one for the ipad to manage apps for my iPhone (4) and the apps for the iPad).
How can I resetup the iPad to create that new ID on itunes?

If you have separate iTunes accounts for the two devices then you'll need to buy 2 copies of any app that you want on both device - you can't copy or move apps from one account to another (they are tied to the account that bought/downloaded them). If you want to reset the iPad then logout of the account on it (Settings > Store and tap the id on the right-hand side) and then Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings will reset it back to factory defaults.

I would contact Apple under your warranty. I doubt you received a new iPod since Apple's policy is to give you a refurbished iPod.

Game center id used by another one though i had change my apple password...

My game center id used by another one. after that i changed my password. but he is still operating my game center account. i just knew it when i go to play my game Clash of Clans and my exp is 114 now...he is giving a lot of bad words by using my game id. what is the process that he will automatic log out from my game center id? The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

You could try going to ''Tools > Options > Privacy'' and removing the individual cookie for that site. You can also try going to ''Tools > Options > Security'' and verifying that the site isn't in your exceptions list.

Resetting User Password in Lion and Mountain Lion
Boot into your Recovery Partition by holding down the Command and R keys whilst booting.
When the Recovery screen appears, go to the Utilities menu and open Terminal.
In Terminal, type:
resetpassword
...a small app will open and allow you to choose the user for whom you want to change the password. If you are the admin, be certain that you choose your admin user. Type in your new password twice and give yourself a good hint. Click OK (or Done or whatever) and reboot, enjoying the use of your new, hopefully memorable, password.

Can one uninstall the Lenovo Password Manager?

I do not want to use the preinstalled Lenovo Password Manager! I am using a different tool which also allows me to sync my passwords across multiple machines to memorize my passwords and so I don't intend to use the Lenovo password manager. But it keeps popping up as soon as I enter some login credentials on some webpage. And it keeps reappearing among the task bar icons after each reboot until I explicitly kill it.
I didn't find a coresponding entry neither under Control Panel => Programs and Features nor in the msconfig => Startup section. So, where/how is this beast started? And how can I silence and/or disable this thingy?

How do I "refresh" a password in Password Manager if it was done in another Browser (IE)?

I had my Facebook password saved in Firefox. When I updated password a year ago, I did it in Explorer as Firefox was not loaded on that computer.
Now that I am back using this computer with Firefox fulltime, I realize password was never "updated" in Password Manager. Problem is it never prompted me to save the password and cannot recall what it is anymore. And Firefox autopopulates the original password when I go to enter a new facebook password.
Is there any way to "refresh" Firefox or get it to prompt a request to save the password? The key does not show up in the browser bar and wonder if somewhere in the options or settings, I can prompt it?

That email address is still a valid Apple ID. If you do not remember the passcode, sign onto Manage your Apple ID (Apple - My Apple ID) with that email address, and then click on Reset Password. You will be asked to answer your Security Questions in order to reset the password. If you do not remember the answers to your Security Questions, contact Apple Support to reset them for you:

Using "Keychain Access" as a Password Manager

Hello All,
While searching for a secure, trustworthy password manager I started wondering why I couldn't just use Keychain Access built into the Mac OS.
I've tried others and they're all nice in their own way but why not use what's already there?
Any suggestions, concerns or gotchas are welcomed.

You can also change the security settings on your keychain and/or create additional keychains. So you might have one keychain with especially secure settings for certain items and another with less secure settings for others. Moreover, you can adjust some settings for each item within a keychain, as well.
Or you can do what I do which is set up several keychains and then render the whole system entirely pointless by saving the passwords in your original keychain because you are terrified you'll forget them otherwise... (I don't actually know why I set them up this way...)
My login password is not my keychain password and my keychain locks after a minute, I require a password to wake from sleep/screensaver (though this does not always work properly) and sensitive items require re-entry of the keychain password anyway. So you can set things up so your keychain is more secure if you want to, at the price of some increased inconvenience.

W520 - Lenovo Password Manager - Can .CSV or .DAT files be imported from other Password Managers?

The title says it all!
Currently using Norton Identity Safe's standalone password manager, but would like to start using Lenovo's instead. Attempted to import .DAT and/or .CSV files from Norton, but no option for these file types appeared in Lenovo's Password Manager.
If not an option to import directly, is it possible to add one of the files to the location Lenovo stores the password manger entries?

No you can't import .CSV or .DAT files into Password Manager. It uses a .PWM file format, and uses a 256-bit key Advanced
Encryption Standard (AES) with Microsoft CryptoAPI. You can export your info to be used in another machine with the Thinkvantage Password Manager installed, but not from another password manager.
