Password Protect on Blackberry Curve 8350i

Good Morning,
This is my first time posting, so please forgive me if I don't do this correctly.  But I am trying to figure out how to password protect my Blackberry.  I have googled it multiple times, but the answers I find don't seem to correlate with the phone I have.  Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forums!
From the main screen on the Blackberry, go to options, security options, general settings.
Place password as enabled. You will then be able to set the other options for Number of Password attempts.
Security Timeout etc. Once you escape the device will ask you to enter the new password and verify then save.
Thanks,

I just got a Blackberry Curve 8350i and I'm trying to figure out how to stop sending the text message I'm replying to with my reply. If anyone could tell me how to fix this I'd greatly appreciate it.

    You aren't, actually.
The initial messsage is ONLY there for your reference, it is not sending.
If you don't want to see it at all, on your BB, go to Options > SMS and Number of previous Items = 0.

  • Need help to recovery a voice recorde on my blackberry curve 8350i

This morning in an important meeting with my doctor I used my BB to record it, but when I went to play it back it is not in the list of recordings just he one I made prior to it. I know when I pulled the BB out of my pocket after the meeting it said it was still recording. I stopped it, but do not remember getting the save, discard, cancel message I usually get.
Is there any way to recover this file, it's more than a little important I get the recording?
you can send any information to my email <removed>, this is very importante to me, please
    Eduardo
EDIT: Personal Information such as e-mail is prohibited for your security. Please review User Guidelines  under section "Be careful."

    Two or three thoughts.
My BlackBerry handset has become my exclusive email tool. I think if you get used to the idea of accessing email from different machines, with the BlackBerry being one of them, it will begin to make sense.
If you haven't enabled a junk email filter at the server level on your email service, do it. Filtered email will not be sync'd with the BlackBerry email client.
Set up your email as IMAP. If you are using Outlook.com, setup as EAS. Create folders for email you don't want sync'd to the inbox on the BlackBerry. Setup rules to move that email to the appropriate folder as it arrives. You will be able to view those folders and their contents on the BlackBerry when you want, but they will not be sync'd automatically unless you turn that on.
As far as your last question, what is the context? Generally speaking, the email can be automatically synchronized. If IMAP or EAS, the folders on the device and other devices and the servers are synchronized. Read an email one place and it is marked read everywhere. Ditto deletes and moves.

  • Access WEP password protected Airport Express WiFi w/T-Mobile B'Berry Curve

I have a new T-Mobile provided Blackberry Curve and the cellular signal is particularly weak in my home. T-Mobile tells me that the new Curve allows me to connect to my home WiFi network and make phone calls using WiFi (given my traditional cell signal is weak at home). Apparently, this is reasonably new functionality as I had not previously been aware of it. The problem I am having is that my WiFi network is protected by a WEP password that I set. I know the password and can view it on my Mac when I go into my Network settings and prompt it to "show password". The problem I'm having is that when I tell the Blackberry device to "search for networks" it quickly searches and easily finds my WiFi network; however, when it prompts me to then enter the WEP password, I do so and then the Blackberry gives me a prompt with something about how the password should be 8 or 24 hexadecimal characters (or something like that?) and then it will not connnect to the WiFi network. Almost as though it's not recognizing the password? MY QUESTION--Am I putting the wrong password into the Blackberry device once it searches and finds my WiFi network? Is there a different password required (perhaps something specific to my Airport Express router that I may have forgotten and need to locate via another means)? Is the password I set through my MAC OS to access my WiFi network using a laptop, etc. not the same one you use for a device like the Blackberry Curve to access that same WiFi network? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as my cellphone is currently essentially worthless inside my home!

You are probably using the correct password. If you are using a shorter password than what is allowed you can suffer the problems of incompatible implementations of WEP. If you are using WEP you should be using 128 bit WEP. That is stronger than 64 bit WEP but not very strong. The maximum length password for 128 bit WEP is 13 ASCII (normal human) characters (which is 26 hexadecimal characters). If your WEP password is not that long, you should change the WEP password at the AirPort Express (AX) so that it is that long.

  • FORGOT PASSWORD FOR BLACKBERRY CURVE

does anyone know how to retrieve a forgotten passcode protection that prompts to use your phone? it only gives me 5 tries and i cant remember!! blackberry website no help they dont recognize the pins entered from package. help!!

If it is a Blackberry password you are out of luck.  After the allowed number of attempts the security system will wipe the contents from the phone and return it to default condition.
Sorry, there is nothing that Verizon or RIM can do to help you recover the password (no "backdoor" entry) as this would defeat the objective of the password protection.

  • Blackberry curve 8530 wont accept password

I have had a blackberry curve 8530 since march and it is now july! Everything has worked until now when i tried to install the desktop manager and it wouldnt accept my password. I tried 10 times and now it says "last attempt" and i don't want my phone to reset everything! Pleas help me!!!! I don't know what to do!!! (P.s i haven't backed up my phone!)

    Hi 85curve30,
If you have any numbers in your device password and don't hold in the Alt key when entering them on the device, try entering the corresponding letters on those keys on the PC when it asks for the password for your connection to the Desktop Software.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8900 Locked - Not Accepting Password - I'm Original/Only Owner of Device

Hello - I'm brand new to this Forum.  I've had my Blackberry Curve 8900 since September of 2009 (original owner) and this is only my second problem with the phone. (My trackball gave out last July, but I had it fixed and it is good as new).
Anyway, I received an email this morning to update the password for my email account (Hotmail) and I updated via my settings on the phone. Then 10 minutes later my phone locked and asked for a password. I recently updated my Blackberry ID password and received a confirmation. Now when I enter this password into my phone to unlock it...I keep getting the message that it is "incorrect" and how many tries I have left out of 10 (it says information will be erased if one more wrong attempt). I already have done this 9 times and it keeps getting rejected.  I only have one attempt left and I'm extremely frustrated. Isn't this password the same as the BlackBerry ID password? What else can I do? Help!  Now all I can do is make call & receive calls. I'm unable to check email or text messages since phone is locked.  Please help!

    Hello FlowerChick,
Welcome to the forums and sorry to hear about your issue.
Before you made any changes did you use a password to lock your device? If so then this would be the password you need to enter. Hope this helps. Let us know if we can help out in any other way.

  • Blackberry Curve password issue

My daughter just got a Blackberry Curve. She set the password and then she wasn't able to log back in. When she tried to enter the password, it actually showed the password in the field not asterisks. She talked to a Verizon Wireless person and he wasn't much help. He told her to let the Blackberry reset which she did. She tried setting the password again and she got the same results. The V. Wireless person said that shouldn't happen - I've never heard of that - go to a Verizon Wireless store. Has anyone had a similar problem?

    Go to Solution.

If the device is less than 30 days old.  Go back to the store and tell them you have a 30 DOA.  Go to customer service, you don't need technical support.  Sounds like faulty software and you shouldn't have to reinstall it or anything like that.  Don't let them give you a FRU or field replacement unit.  You will get a new device if it's 30 days or less old.

  • Acrobat Reader for BB Curve 8350i

Hi, i find Acrobat Reader for my BB Curve 8350i, if any body know were i can download this please say me.

If you are viewing a PDF file attached to an email you don't need to do anything, the native BlackBerry Attachment Service should suffice to open and view the file.
If you are viewing from the Media Card, you'll need a third party PDF viewer, like BeamReader, PDFtoGo, or Repligo.
Or, email the PDF file to yourself, and read it from the email.

  • Blackberry Curve - white screen

    Hi
I have a Blackberry curve, if not mistake the 9800.
i was charging it and all of a sudden the i see that the screen had gone white.
I removed the battery put it back the screen still remains white.
since it has a password i cannot unlock it.
whats the best option to get it back as normal.
It has been used very safely , no problems except for battery draining out fast. Other  than that it looks like a new piece, coz i take good care.
Guide me how i could get it back working
    Thanks
    [email protected]

    Hello jpkurian
White Screen may appear because of a hardware issue or a poor Battery , As you already mentioned that your Battery drains out  very fast which is a symptom of a poor battery . Can you arrange a Good fully charged BB battery to test it on your device , it will reveal if the problem is within your device or the battery itself.

  • Unable to unlock Blackberry Curve 9300

I am trying to unlock my Blackberry curve 9300.  It is coming up with enter "blackberry" to continue so I have done this too many times and it says last attempt !  I do not want to touch it again  as I am clearly entering the wrong information.
    How do I fix this?

You must enter the correct password.
Often users who have multiple numerals in their password will only press the ALT key for the first numeral and not those following, so for instance, if your password were "1234", you might have been pressing "Alt 1234" on the device, which makes the actual password to be "1ers".
Does that make sense? Does it sound familar to your usage?
So check the way you enter your password on the device... do you think you are entering multiple numbers but actually are not?
