Patch No for Upgrading Database XE

Hii All,
I need to patch My Oracle Express edition(10.1.0.2) to 10.1.0.4 also in my one system
and in another ystem I need to patch 11.1.0.6.0 to 11.1.0.7.0 ,which is a prerequiste for installing OracleSOA 11g toolset.
Can anyone plz tell me what are the exact patch no I need to down load for each case?.
Thanks and regards,
Deekay.

Patches are available only when you paid for a support access to metalink, and for the non-free editions.
Oracle XE is a free version of Oracle database 10.2.0.1.
Since it is licence free, you are free to use for whatever you want, however, there is no patches available for this Oracle Edition.
Regarding your 11g upgrade, again, you have to access to metalink (tab "Patches & Updates") and look for the target patchset you want to go to. Patchset depends of your plateform, help yourself.
Nicolas.

  • Current Patch Set for Oracle Database Release 11.2

    Hi
I am upgrading oracle 10G to 11GR2 in AIX 5.3 Environment with SAP ECC6 , I have just just installled Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 according to the "Database Upgrade Guide -Upgrade to Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2): UNIX". After database software installation , in upgrade manual in section 3.4.4 it says, you need to install current patch set for oracle database 11g R2 and referencing a SAP note 1431799.
I have just read note 1431799 which says Current Patch Set for Oracle Database Release 11.2 is not generally available for SAP customers until December 2010, also I donu2019t find the note 1522330 as mentioned in 1431799.
Please let me know how I can get current patch set to apply with Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 (Is it in SAP service market place?)
I also want to upgrade my installation to oracle 11.2.0.2, please let me know where I get the patch set to upgrade from 11.2.0.1.0 to 11.2.0.2,
    or
I have to live with 11.2.0.1.0 and apply SAP Bundle Patch ( SBP)

    Abu Al MAmun,
I understand from your posts that you recently upgraded to 11.2.0.2.
I am having the same difficulty, of finding the current patch set for 11.2. Could you please let me know how you worked around it?
    Thanks,
    Siri
    Hello Everyone,
I did read the post on to how you have to install the current patch set for 11.2.
But honestly, it pretty much flew over my head.
I am trying to upgrade our SAP AIX 64 bit test system from Oracle 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.2.
And so far I have downloaded all the required sw for the upgrade, except for the current patch set 11.2.
This is what I have right now:
    1) Oracle 11.2 AIX 64 bit upgrade sw - 51038805_part 1 to 51038805_part 7 and 51039800.
    2) Database Patches -->Oracle 11.2.0.2 -->
    All they have here is
    a. Database RDMBS - SAP_112020_201012_AIX.zip and b. SAP_112020_201101_AIX.zip
    b. OPatch - OPatch_11201_Generic_v3.zip and mopatch-2_1_6.zip
    c. Database Vault - DV - >Generic - p9656644_112020_Generic.zip
If I am not wrong, the Database RDBMS files are nothing but the SAP Bundle Patches that have to be installed after installing the currrent patch set 11.2.0.2 using MOPatch.
But I did not find the currrent patch set 11.2.0.2.
Could someone please explain the process to me in detail? This being my first time , I am finding it a bit hard to catch up with some of the stuff.
    Thank You!
    Siri

  • Patch set for 11g database.

From where can I download the patchset for oracle 11g database?
    Regards,
    Atif Iqbal

Any patchset for 11g release 1/2You can download 11gR2 (11.2.0.2.0/11.2.0.1.0) or 11gR1 (11.1.0.7.0/11.1.0.6.0) directly from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html and you do not need to apply any patchset on top of it.
and also the meta notes access.Since you do not have a CSI number, I believe this will not be helpful -- We cannot post the contents of MOS (Metalink) docs since this violates Oracle support agreement policy.
    Thanks,
    Hussein

Patches are only used within a release. 11.2 is '11g Release 2' - a new release. This is no longer a patch, it is an upgrade.
You perform the upgrade as per the Upgrade manual in the doc set. PLEASE read that manual before you attempt te upgrade. There are a few steps and concepts that are significantly different from a patch.
The starting point for an upgrade is the freely downloaded s/w. The software is a completely fresh install, but the database gets upgraded.
By the way, I would not recommend jumping on 11.2 for an existing production environment until a careful evaluation has been made - upgrades always introduce significant changes and they could adversely affect an existing application is not properly tested and understood. Budget a few weeks (at least) to understand the differences.

  • Patch for upgrading 10g AS from 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.2.1

    Hi All,
I am in process of doing 10g AS integration with 11.5.10.2.
here as per documentation i have seen that this 10g AS has to upgrade
My 10g AS version is 10.1.2.0.2
The below msg is as per Oracle Documentation
If you are running Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.0) or Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.1) Standard Edition One, then apply the Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.1 patch before applying Oracle Application Server Portal Upgrade.
I have searched a lot in metalink for patch but no luck
So please let me know the right patch to upgrade my 10g AS from 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.2.1
Also any supporting document for this upgrade
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Bhanu Chander.

    I have downloaded patch p5983622_10123_LINUX.zip
and first tried to upgrade infrastructure home
    but while upgrading it says
oracle universal installer has detected that your database is version 10.1.0.4.2 before you can continue you must apply a required database patch set.
But in documentation i have seen
    Supported Database Releases
The portal schema may be residing in an OracleAS Metadata Repository, or in a customer database. The database in which the portal schema resides must be one of the following supported releases:
Oracle Database 10g (10.1.0.4.2) or later
Please let me know what should i do now
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
Bhanu Chander.yes, because the Infrastructure Database needs to be upgraded. And it is listed in the documentation of the same patch set.
In the Readme file for the patch set 3 (5983622 or p5983622_10123_LINUX) as you mentioned, please see Section 5. Before you begin applying this patch set
    It reads the following:
"5.6 Applying the Oracle Database 10g Release 1 (10.1.0.5) Patch Set
The Oracle Database 10g Release 1 (10.1.0.5) patch set must be applied to all database instances (for both the Identity Management and Metadata Repository installation type and Metadata Repository only installation type) before applying OracleAS 10g Release 2 Patch Set 3. If OracleAS 10g Patch Set 2 (10.1.2.2.0) has been applied previously, then you do not have to apply the database patch."
hope that explains what you need to do. i.e, your infra DB version is 10.1.0.4.2 and needs to be upgraded to 10.1.0.5.

  • Database patch 5 for CM

    Hi all,
After succesfully installing EP SP2 with patch 29 and CM patch 4 too after that, I wanted to upgrade CM to the last patch too.
I first deployed patch 5 for CM, succesful operation, but after that the documentation guide showed to apply the patch 5 for database (included in this CM patch)
During the patching of oracle instance I had the following error:
    DROP INDEX "IX_CMCC_TABLE1"
ORA-01418: specified index does not exist
    followed by exception.
I have a look on oracle errors, but dont know how to solve it.
Can someone help me solving this, because I havent done a backup to my database, but only to the instance used.
When I logon in the portal after that in the KM Content it gives an exception saying is waiting for a patch.
    Best regards,
    Raluca.

    Hi,

  • Mandatory Patches for upgrade

We are in process for upgrading 8.1.7.4 (32 bit) to 10.2.0.4 (64 bit) on AIX . We downloaded so far Base 10.2.0.1 and patchset 10.2.0.4 plus latest CPU patch. Does anybody knows if any Oracle recommended Mandatory Patches out there so we could apply before database upgrade.
    Thanks.

I end up opening TAR with Oracle and they send me steps on how to find list of Recommended Patches.
Now to find the recommended patches on 10.2.0.4.0 do the following
    1. Log into metalink.
    2. Click on the tab patches and updates
    3. Click on the link "Oracle Database" under "Recommended Patches"
    4. Select the release as "10.2.0.4.0" and platform as "IBM AIX Based Systems (64-bit)"
    5. Click on GO. This will list you the recommended patches.

  • In-place upgrade of Enterprise Manager for RAC databases is not supported

upgrading 2 node RAC from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.3 on Windows 2003 64 bit. I got the following:
In-place upgrade of Enterprise Manager for RAC databases is not supported in this release
Now I cannot log in to the database control as sys with sysdba role . I get "invalid username/password" error
I can login as a dba user
I also get a java error after I log in, some thing about class not found, but then I'm in and I can do everything that I try, although I haven't tried scheduling a backup yet
Can I upgrade EM to 10.2.0.3?
    If so, how?

    On the patchset readme...
11.3 Upgrade of Oracle Enterprise Manager Not Supported
When you start Oracle Database Upgrade Assistant to upgrade 10.2.0.1 database to 10.2.0.3 patch set, the following error occurs:
Inplace upgrade of Enterprise Manager is not supported for RAC databases is not supported in this release
    Workaround:
    Ignore warning.
If you drop and recreate the EM repository?
1). emca -deconfig dbcontrol db repos drop
2). emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create
Be careful, doing this put the database on QUIESCE mode.

    1. H/W Upgrades HW is fixed, there are no options to add or upgrade components in the individual servers.
    2. Patch UpgradesPatches for Exadata software are available via My Oracle Support. The installation procedures for each Exadata software upgrade are detailed in the patch's readme.
    3. S/W, Database upgrades/patching, Hot/Online patchingMost patches are rolling-installable and most Exadata software upgrades are rolling-installable too. You should utilize the MAA best practices and whitepapers that describe how to minimize downtime for patching and upgrades via Data Guard and other techniques (http://www.oracle.com/technology/deploy/availability/htdocs/maa.htm)

    -ALTER SYSTEM DISABLE RESTRICTED SESSION;
    -CONNECT / AS SYSDBA
    -update obj$ set status=5 where type#=29 and owner#!=0;

I been informed that this is maybe a Database problem related. Any ideas?

Patchsets could be obtained (only) from http://metalink.oracle.com
You need to have valid CSI for access.
