Payment terms for a particular sales order

Dear Gurus,
I want to trigger a particular payment term for a particular sales document type.
i.e., when i create a sales order with this particular sales document type the desired payment term should be copied into sales order by default. Is this possible.. please suggest.
thanks
suri

Dear Suri
As you would be aware, by default, Payment Term will flow in sale order from customer master.  However, if you want to have a different payment term to flow automatically, then you have try with any of the following user exits.
User exits in the program MV45AFZZ - USEREXIT_READ_DOCUMENT
User-Exits in program MV45AFZB - USEREXIT_CHECK_VBAK
thanks

    Hi Chandra,
If you want to block payment term for "particular vendor" then you need to define a validation rule.
As per my understanding, the link provided by Owen will block term for all vendors.

  • Preventing update to COPA tables for a particular Sales order type

    Hi ,
We need to have incoming sales order transfer to COPA activated only for one particular sales order type activated.
Earlier we implemented note 571697  for user exit to allow COPA update only for particular sales order type.
This prevented the transfer of SO to actuals table, but off late the performance for VA01 and VA02 has decreased substantially.
Upon checking, we found this is happening because of other CE4XXXX tables (excluding CE1XXXX) which are getting updated during creation/ change of SO. as the data in these tables is huge .
If possible, please advise, right userexit to prevent update to these tables.
    Thanks.
    Neeraj

Thanks for your inputs..I have few more queries on same.
Initially we had incoming sales order activated in KEKF allong with implemented SAP note 571697, which helped us to update CE1XXXX only for a particular sales order type. This was initial requirement to have system updating COPA values only for one particular sales order type. Also, KEQ3 was also activated which resulted in updates to CE4XXXX. This was not a problem initially since we had few sales orders now that plant has grown old with more sales order (resulting in huge size of CE4XXXX) VA01 is impacted..
Currently ,since we have KEQ3 activated so, Segment is created the moment we create sales order.. and table CE4XXXX is updated..
As most of you have suggested to switch off sales order in KEQ3, i need to analyze the impact of this..
From what i understand CE1XXXX will continue with updation for that order type... and CE4XXXX won't be updated in future..Please correct me if i am wrong..
Also, please advise what all can be possible impacts on COPA reporting if I switch off from now onwards (client has been using this since long) , and what all should be the precautions that i should take while doing this.
    Thanks

Using user exit USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION in MV45AFZZ, use it when you are going for particular case.
Or you can go for or screen variant, use it when you are going for all cases
    Hope this can assist you.

  • Locking Payment Terms field on OM Sales Order

    Hi,
Our users are entering sales order using OM responsibility. We have customers that have a payment term of COD. Within a sales order, when one of these customers is selected and COD is returned to the payment terms field, the user can still change it. We would like to lock the payment terms field when a payment term of COD is returned and not allow it to be updated. If the payment term is not COD, we would allow the user to change it if needed. Can we possibility do this using forms personalization?
    Thanks for the help

    Dear MoazzaM,
I know that payment term is available in 3 screens. My question is that if I make the field invisible in any of the screen then it should at least perform for that particular screen. Because I tried the same with Std TV BUS2032 and it worked.
Or is it that If apply the changes for all the screens it would take effect in case of Z transaction variant?
But I am surprised why the same is not getting called when I use a Z transaction variant. Also please note that if I refer to the Std TV BUS2032 and make a copy of the same I am still not able to use it as the screens called there are already used at many places in standard SAP?
    Please suggest.

  • Payment terms for Advances in Sales & Distribution

    Hi friends !!
1)You may know that we have payment terms like eg: 30% advance and remaining payment after delivery.
In such scenario, while doing sales order itself the customer need to pay the advance. Then he needs acknowledgement or bill for that amount. How and where we will configure that???
2)If the advance amount recieved at sales order level do we need to issue the invoice for the full amount or for the balance amount??
Please any one help me to understand the logic !!
    Thanks & Regards,

    hi,
If it is real-estate based one plz follow the following procedurs:
You have to define conditions for sales-based rent in order to be able to post sales-based rent. Also, if advance payments were made for sales-based rent or a minimum sales-based rent is defined, conditions allow you to offset these against the sales-based rent to be paid.
    Prerequisites
You defined the necessary condition types in Customizing and assigned them attributes for sales-based rent. In Customizing choose:
SAP Customizing Implementation Guide - Flexible Real Estate Management - Conditions and Flows - Condition Types
You set the Relevant to Sales indicator on the General Data tab page in the real estate contract.
    Procedure
           1.      On the Conditions tab page, assign the necessary conditions to the contract. The following condition types are relevant for sales-based rent settlement:
    ·        Advance Payment for Sales-Based Rent
One-time or recurring condition for sales-based rent; requires actual rent as condition purpose. Advance payments made by the tenant are offset against the sales-based rent resulting from the sales-based rent agreement.
    ·        Minimum Rent
Minimum amount of sales-based rent to be paid. This is usually a condition with the condition purpose actual rent, but can also be used as a statistical condition.
    ·        Maximum Rent
Maximum amount of sales-based rent to be paid (cap). Maximum rent is usually represented by one or more statistical conditions. The maximum amount is the sum of the conditions, limited to the given settlement period.
    ·        Sales-Based Rent (Required for Every Sales Rule)
This condition defines how the receivable or credit memo is posted. It is not possible to assign a unit price to this condition, since the posting amount is determined by the sales-based rent settlement. The calculation formula always has to be sales-based rent (see: Customizing settings). The system generates a cash flow item for the posting that reflects the posting period and settlement period. For this reason, you do not enter a frequency for this condition. Instead, it is defined as a one-time condition.
The Sales-Based Rent condition is also used to specify which objects of the sales-based rent agreement form the basis for sales-based rent. This makes it possible to determine sales-based rent using measurements as a basis (for example, per square foot of retail space). If the condition has a distribution rule, then sales are distributed to the objects using this rule.
Note that the system uses only the last distribution formula in the settlement period. The system does not distribute proportionally within the settlement period if there is a change to the distribution formula.
           2.      On the Terms subtab, assign the same sales rule to all advance payment conditions for sales-based rent, to all minimum sales-based rent conditions, and to just one Sales-Based Rent condition.
You have to assign a single Sales-Based Rent condition to each sales rule.
If a contract contains more than one sales rule, you have to assign that number of Sales-Based Rent conditions in order to be able to perform settlement. You cannot use advance payments or minimum sales-based rent conditions for settlement. You can assign a sales rule to from zero to any number of advance payments and to from zero to any number of minimum sales-based rent conditions.
    regards,
    Siddharh.

  • Payment terms for different products from a single vendor

    Hi Pundits,
Our client has a requirement to assign different payment terms for different products. Each product he buys from his vendor has it's own payment terms. He wants us to customize in such a way that when he/user enters the invoice, not only the vendor number is shown along with the product name but also the payment terms for that particular product are calculated.
I know that only one payment term can be assigned in the vendor master data. Is there anyway to get around this?
Creating the same vendor multiple times and assign payment terms looks a possible option but that looks quite hectic cause he has close to 1000 payment terms.

Taurian, thank you for that suggestion!
I can maintain as many existing payment terms as the client has with his vendors and let him choose the payment terms at the time of invoice entry.
The only problem is that he might have to change it according to the current market rates for that product. So maintaining any payment term is of little use.

  • Reserve stock against one particular sales order and issue the same

    Hi,
My client wants that he should he able to reservestock for a particular sales order only, so that during availability check, the stock is not issued against any other sales order.
I have tried to do stock reservation by using t-code MB21, then the stock gets transferred from Unrestricted stock to restricted stock.
When i Do the PGI, it is still reducing the unrestricted stock and the reserved stock is unaltered.
My client is not a manufacturing unit, they are basically into only trading of goods.
Can some one please suggest what steps can i do?
Also if tehre is any alternative to accomplish the same?
You can mail me any documnettaion regarding the same, is any on       [email protected]
    Thanks'
    Priyanka

see when ur changing the stock from restricted use to unrestricted use then
its fine but as u mentioned while doing particular moment type you want the stock to get reduced from restricted use but not from unrestricted use
for this u need to change the moment type from 651 to some thing else because the moment type 651 will reduce the stock from restricted use and allocate to the customer
so maintain a diff moment type for ur particular order type ( means this particular order type has an itme cat which detrmines a schedule line cat in thth schedule line cat maintain a diff omnt type instead of 601)
    well try 231

  • Payment terms  for particular line item

    Hi gurus
i have defined payment terms and assigned to customer master, when ever i am creating sales order payment terms are getting in the sales order if i want to change the payment terms for particular line item what is need to be done
    please let me know asap
    thanks n regards
    srinvias

    Hi,
    There are few ways:
    - You need to check in respective Item Category, the field "Business Item data" should be unchecked, this will allow you to change the Payment Terms at Item Level.
-Even if the above settings are not being done, you can have the Payment terms fetched from Condition record maintained for that item. Mind that you need to maintain the Payment terms in Condition Records of the pricing of the item.
Do reward answers with suitable points.

i am currently working on a ticket involving a sales order. What is happening is that the field Payment Terms(Z-TERM) is different in sales order and the invoice which got created from the delivery of the same sales order. Can anyone tell me as to why this is happening?

    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Rittik,
You can fetch the value of ZTERM for a delivery invoice from table VBRK.

  • Payment Terms - Only specify sales text for payment terms for customers !

What is wrong with the format in the attached screen shot ?
Do I have to Choose Customer & Vendor ?

    Hi Emad,
This error “Only specify sales text for payment terms for customers" appears because this payment term is not applicable for customer. There are two choices either to delete the description text and make the payment term applicable only to vendor,However if you want to keep the description text, then make payment term applicable to customer as well by tick mark.

  • Payment Term for advance payment

    Hi
Can we configure a payment term for advance payment thro OBB8. it says that customer needs to pay us in advance.
If yes, how do we configure this.

the accounting document is created after a delivery for a customer invoice via billing.
i believe there is an option in SD where you have an extra tab for payment. Once the payment has been received, i.e. entered into the sales order, the delivery can be made.
This should work for your process, however best to speak to a SD consultant to get the full picture.
Hope this helps, assign points and mark thread as answered if it does!!!
