Pb G4 1.67Ghz running OS 10.4, right side of the screen 2, pixel wide vertical lines, a few days later colors posterized on pics and vid. Vertical lines don't show screen capture, but pics still posterized. Hardware test from disk shows ok.
Right side of screen started showing 2, pixel wide vertical lines. A few day later colors in pics and vid posterized. Vertical lines don't show in screen capture but pics still bad. Ran hardware test from disk, ok, adjusted color in sys prefs, new profiles a bit better but still bad, mpeg worse, jpeg bad. No better in new user account. Now a month later, right side has 8 vert lines and occasionally a slightly darker area in bottom corners for a few seconds. Reset pram, battery plugged into adaptor 99%. I can notice, for a slit second, when the screen saver is on, when I move cursor to get back to desktop, true color of image can be seen for a flash of a second.
sorry, was in a rush, any suggestions to fix or ideas of what has gone wrong

I transferred itunes library from old PC to new PC. The content all shows when I launch iTunes on the new PC now. The previous content does not show in iTunes but folder still looks like it is on hard drive on new PC. Suggestions on how to properly merge?
Before you connect any device to a new library go to the Devices tab of the the preferences panel via Edit > Preferences (Windows) or iTunes > Preferences (Mac) and ensure the box next to Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically is ticked. You can now safely connect the device to your computer without the danger of media being automatically deleted or overwritten.
To get all your content off your connect your iPad to your new computer.
Then use a 3rd party piece of software to transfer your content

I have a 2010 Mac Mini4,1 with SnowLeapard and plan to upgrade to Mavericks, but can't run Apple Hardware Test from my applications disk 2 that came with the machine. For some reason the Mac can read it and kicks it our after about a minute. Seems to be able to reado other disks, so this one may be corrupted. I found info on this community that says that the AHT is on the hard disk and I found it here /System/Library/CoreServices/.diagnostics using terminal. When open that folder using terminal it open a window with that folders contents. My problem is I can execute the only unix executable in that folder. It responds with "No application knows how to open /System/Library/CoreServices/.diagnostics/diags.efi"

Additionally if your using a wireless keyboard and it is not invoking the Hardware Test using the D key immediately after the chine, then you may need to use a USB keyboard. Adding that any Apple, PC or generic Logitech USB keyboard should work for invoking the startup commands. -
Running Apple Hardware Test from a cloned drive partition
So I remember someone suggested perhaps running Apple Hardware Test from a hard drive partition, in order to speed things up.
So far all I have are three partitions, with one (9GB partition) cloned from Install Disk 1 that came with my (Santa Rosa) MacBook - on my WD MyBook Home (FW/USB) using FW. If I hold down the option key during startup, I get the option to boot from the clone of Install Disk 1. I tried that, but only got a query whether I wanted to install Leopard on one of my partitions.
I know for standard Apple Hardware Test I'm supposed to hold down D while it starts up with Install Disk 1 inside. I tried this after selecting the hard drive, but got nothing. Any suggestions how to proceed?Douglas McLaughlin wrote:

I still would prefer a separate Apple Hardware Test CD like I got with my iBook G3 600. It would be interesting if there was a way to run it out of a drive partition. -
I just got a WD My Passport 1TB External Harddrive and i have already backed everything up to it but im still a little nervous about erasing things off the physical drive on my macbook pro since it says my disk utility is out of space an implying i need to erase items.
I cant find the options to erase selected items it only shows that i can erase everything.
I mean technically i suppose i could erase everything an have a fresh start since its backed up to my external. But what exactly are the specific items being erased?
I have bought the newest OS X 10.8.2 an worried that it will get erased also an end up having to repurchase it.
Can anyone help me?

If you are trying to delete some files get out of Disk Utility, it is not for that!
How did you backup and what are you trying to achieve?

My Iphone 5 home button keeps pressing itself but stops if put pressure on the bottom of the screen on each side of the home button, i have noticed that there is a screw missing on the right side of the lightning port could this be the issue??
If you are still under warranty, contact Apple to get it serviced. You can also visit an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Provider to get it looked at.

In previous versions of i Tunes I could highlight a song in my library and a genious list would show on the right side of the screen listing songs that were like the one highlighted. Now I do not get that list. Is there a way to get that back?

I downloaded CS6 and am having issues with my print driver. It is not compatible with the HP 2600n and have tried to download drivers given to me by adobe ( (Jupiter 3) but it is not working. after a few days. Its a temporary fix and is still looking for the HP driver when i boot up. It also will not save in any print or postscript format. Does anyone know how to fix?

It is quite possible the battery door may get your phone in working order again. I'm not sure if the store has it in stock, but it is available in our warehouse for $14.99 which can be ordered via customer service.

Is the status light green?
Your Airport device may be in Bridge Mode.
Airport Utility 6:
Open Airport Utility, select the Airport Express and click Edit. Navigate to the Network tab and change Router Mode to DHCP and NAT. Then click Update on the bottom right.

Open Airport Utility and click Manual Setup. Navigate to the Internet icon and change Connection Sharing to Share a Public IP Address. Then click Update on the bottom right. -
I'm VERY happy with the results (fast!). However, the really strange thing is this - there is now a thin yellow line, way over on the right side of the screen, which goes from top to bottom, and stays there no matter where I go or what I do. I've never seen anything like this! It was not there before I did the upgrades. Anyone out there ever heard of such a preposterous thing ~ or have any ideas on how to get rid of it?

There's no thumbnails to drag around except one on the left side of the page (the one that's open). The right side of the page lists every tab I have created.
Perhaps your problem is that '''you must save your browsing history''' in order to use app-tabs that would apply to groups as well but I did not test.

I would suggest that if you do not save that stuff in bookmarks, that you will probably have a serious problem soon and lose your tabs, so if you count on them you could lose them. They should stand up to repeated restarts but I would not count of them as app-tabs myself, for one thing it is new, the other is I have to frequently wipe them out and restart, because I actively open new content into them and go back to the beginning of the tab history, and sometimes I can't, and sometimes I lose them by accidentally closing them -- and I must be able to close them in all manners that I close other tabs or I wouldn't be using them.
There are people who keep 200 tabs open through restarting, that is not for me, I try to clear out the tabs frequently.
That is what app-tabs are for as opposed to home pages, but I did have a problem when I tested with 120 since as app-tabs only about 65 can be seen at once even though I did reduce the width of app-tabs to about 2/3 the size that they were.. Problem I had when I restarted was that the window enlarged a bit beyond the screen, and my tab counter disappeared until I reduced the count to about 65. I do not allow tabs to scroll so you probably wouldn't have that problem.
I forgot to test home page with 60 tabs. I do have something set to 75 though have to check that. I tested with 60 pages as home page. Brought firefox down and backup with the 1 app-tab and 60 home pages the app-tab is the same size as the 60 normal tabs from home page.
Never used group-tabs by choice, since they messed me up I stay clear of them, I don't like them or anything large panoramic type of large thumbnails.
