PC Suite changes my modem string!!!!

I have a E61i and use it as a modem with my cable. I run an updated version of Vista and have PC Suite 7.1.26.0.
I entered AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","safaricom" as my modem sting (as directed by Safaricom provider here ) and when I try and connect to the internet using PC Suite it changes my string to:+CGDCONT=,,"internet"   This string does not work while the one Safaricom gave me does. If I create a dial up connection and bypass PC Suite using the first string it works. But the moment I try and connect using PC Suite it changes the string permanently and puts in the second string that does not work!!!! What do I do to get PC Suite to not do this? Thanks Greg

I guess I am not 100% sure. I just opened PC Suite and checked manage connections and then settings and saw nothing labled manual or automatic. What I do to connect to the internet in PC Suite is connect my phone with the cabe, open PC Suite and then click on the globe to make the connection. Does that help you of should I check something else? Thanks, Greg

  • Can't change the connection string of SSIS package with derived columns?

    We upgraded SQL server 2008 to 2012, copied and converted all SSIS packages from Visual Studio 2008 to 2010.  When I opened a package in VS 2010 and tried to change the connection string, in the local connection managers, if the data source is another
    SSIS package B(.dtsx file) with derived columns, I can't change the connection string of package B. When I opened the file connection manager editor for package B and tried to locate a dtsx file in another location, saved the change, reopened the project.
    Package B still pointed to previous file.  Other packages without derived columns work fine. Any thoughts?

    We are using the package deployment model and refer to other packages in the same project. If
    we changed the path of package B (with derived columns) to "D:\Visual Studio 2010\xxxx", and refer it in package A, in the A's connection manager, the connection string of package B is still its previous location  "D:\Visual
    Studio 2008\xxxx". When we ran the package A in the SQL server agent, the data source is still
     "D:\Visual
    Studio 2008\xxxx", so how can I change it to "D:\Visual
    Studio 2010\xxxx"? Why has the package C (without derived columns) no such problem? thanks.

  • After Time Warner changed my modem, I can't get wifi for my iPad

    I use iMac 10.6.8 and Airport Extreme 5th generation.
    ISP is Time Warner cable and used RCA modem (very old) connected with Airport Extreme.
    I could use iPad and iPod Touch using wifi well via Airport.
    However, since the internet speed was very slow, the Tech guy from Time Warner came and changed my Modem to ARRIS DG1670.
    Since then, even though the Internet via Mac become faster, I had no wi-fi and can't use both iPad and iPod. I even can not use the Printer without USB cable.
    The both device show my Wi-fi network name but could not get the connection.
    I called Time Warner and they told I have to configure my router (Airport Extreme) to match the new modem and have to contact Apple to ask how to configure.
    When I go to "Network" from the system preference and see the AirPort , it says Self-Assigned IP on the left side box and on the right side, the Status is ON but
    tells "Airport has the self-assigned IP address 169.254.XXX.XX and will not be able to connect to the internet".
    When I clicked the Ethernet, it show Connected and the IP is like 69.86.XX.XXX and the Router is 69.86.XX.X
    However, when I check the Airport Utility, the IP is like 69.86.XX.XXX and totally different from the "Network" info. (169.254.XXX.XX).
    How can I configure it for the new modem?
    Should I reset to the Manufacture Default setting?  If so, I have to start from Reset button on the backside of Airport?
    Is there anyone can help? Thank you.

    Thank you again.
    Yes, it worked. First, I just replaced the all info. as before,  the router IP also (Stupid) , not success.
    So, I created the new network, then, the Router IP automatically showed up .
    I think the old setting still there under my Airport station (so, 2 setting right now)?
    Anyway, my iPad and iPod touch works well with the new wi-fi network.
    Thank you very much.
    I got this Airport Extreme from a friend who wen to Time Capsule, still have the box and serial No. but will not work for Apple Phone support.
    I appreciate for your fast help.

  • Cs-mars changing the community string on multiple devices

    Hello,
    We've changed the snmp v2 community strings on all the network devices.
    Is it possible in cs-mars to change the community string on multiple devices?
    When I select edit in admin>security and monitor devices> and select several devices and click edit the message "please select only one device to edit"
    What's the best way to do this, and is this absoluteley nessecary?
    Many thanks for all the help......

    > Is it possible in cs-mars to change the community string on multiple devices?
    Yes, it's possible for some device types.  The SNMP community string(s) can be bulk updated using a seed file, but only for the following device types: PIX, PIX 7.x, ASA, IOS, and SWITCH-IOS.  Any other device types have to be updated manually.  The details are on page 1-46 of the Device Configuration Guide.  You will also need the details for using a seed file, from the same document.
    > is this absoluteley necessary?
    If you want to communicate with the devices via SNMP, then yes, you need to update the strings.  This is especially the case if you don't use any other communications protocols such as SSH, Telnet, or FTP.  Also, without the updated SNMP strings, MARS can't fully discover the Layer 2 topology from the device.
    Unfortunately, the SNMP string bulk update is only available for SNMPv1 (or v2 with no encryption) credentials.  If you're using SNMPv3, each device has to be edited manually.

  • File path control-how to avoid the user to change the path string

    Hi all,
    I'm using "File path control" to chose file name. I don't want the user to write the path in the control directly (by typing) but only to choose the file via the button on the right.
    I can implement this behaviour with path indicator and button of course. But I belieave that it can be done more elegant - only disable the part with the string - not the whole "File path control". But how? I tried to customize the control but not success.
    Is it possible?

    The way I've done it is to make the path part of the control tiny and hide it behind a string indicator.  Then whenever the path control changes value (by pressing the Browse button), I populate the string indicator with the path value.  Here's a sample VI demonstrating this method, saved in LabVIEW 8.0.
    Hope this helps,

  • Change font in String ?

    Is it possible to change font of a String like U cant do it with html coding? If I have :
    String text ="this is a text";
    can I change the color and the size of the text and so on, instead of the default ones?

    You can set these attributes for the component which displays your string. For example, if you want to use a JLabel to display your String you can set the font, font style and colour of the JLabel.
    JLabel lab = new JLabel(String);
    lab.setFont(new Font("Arial", Font.BOLD, 16);
    lab.setForegound(Color.red);You can do the same for JTextAreas and JTextFields. However, all of the text in these components will take the same formatting. JTextPane and JEditorPane are more flexible in that you can display text in various colours and fonts etc.
    have a look at the Swing Tutorial. Follow the link to Text Components.

  • Can't change Text2D's String!

    Hey guys,
    I've got a 2D score board I'd like to update frequently (using 2D to save some FPS instead of Text3D) but I can't manage to change the String dynamicly: I can change the String to another String with the exact same with or less, but if less, the String is S T R E C H E D across the original 3D plane in an ugly way. I tried creating a new TexT2D bigger than what I needed and then set a shorter String in it, same stretching problem...
    Has anyone resolved this? What's the point of having a setString method if you can only set Strings which are the exact same width?! Btw, Text3D automatically handles the change since we're dealing with completly different geometries everytime. Maybe I have to manually setGeometry of the next String to match that String's width? If so, how do I calculate that width?
    Thanks!
    Btw, here's the code I use to get the proper capabilities and get rid of the 3 billion error messages I got!
    highScoreNbr = new Text2D(Long.toString(highScore), COLOR_WHITE, FONT_NAME, FONT_SIZE, FONT_STYLE);
    highScoreNbr.setCapability(Text2D.ALLOW_APPEARANCE_READ);
    highScoreNbr.setCapability(Text2D.ALLOW_APPEARANCE_WRITE);
    highScoreNbr.getAppearance().setCapability(Appearance.ALLOW_TEXTURE_READ);
    highScoreNbr.getAppearance().setCapability(Appearance.ALLOW_TEXTURE_WRITE);
    highScoreNbr.getAppearance().getTexture().setCapability(Texture.ALLOW_IMAGE_READ);
    highScoreNbr.getAppearance().getTexture().setCapability(Texture.ALLOW_IMAGE_WRITE);

    Hi,
    there's a bug in java3d 1.3:
    http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4809249.html
    My workaround: download java3d 1.2x (SDK) and extract the sourcecode for class Text2D. Then rewrite the code (rename the class) to a new class like MyText2D and use it instead of Text2D.

  • Change local connection string on remote server

    Hello,
     I have searched every post and tried every connection string there but can't figure out how to connect to my database on my  remote server. I am using Visual Developer 2005 Express Edition in C# and uploading it to a Windows server running asp.net 2.0. The domain has not resolved yet.
    I am so new to this and have followed many tutorials step by step but none of them address this issue. They just show how to upload it to the server.
    Do I need to use the SQL server provided by my host or can the database stay in the App_Data folder?
    My local connection string works locally:
      <add name="ConnectionString" connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|\add_newSQL.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True"
       providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
    When I uploaded to my server I changed \SQLEXPRESS  to (local) as advised in the forum.
    <add name="ConnectionString" connectionString="Data Source=(local);AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|\add_newSQL.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True"
    providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
    When I debug a page I get the <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    error message even thought I have already set it in my remote web.config file which may be causing problems itself:
    <configuration>
    <appSettings/>
    <connectionStrings>
    <add name="ConnectionString" connectionString="Data Source=(local);AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|\add_newSQL.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True"
    providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
    </connectionStrings>
    <system.web>
    <customErrors mode="Off" />
    <compilation debug="false" />
    <authentication mode="Windows" />
    </system.web>
    </configuration>
    Thanks for any help you can offer. I wish I could find someone to hire to do this part for me or teach me how over the phone. Any suggestions?

    Is this still an issue?

  • Solved: PC Suite changes messages date to date of ...

    Yesterday I wanted to copy all of my messages from my Nokia 6267 phone to my computer. I have a folder for inbox and outbox, and all of my previuosly copied messages are saved as "[first 32 characters of the message].vmg". I opened Nokia PC Suite 7.1 and clicked on "messages", which opened the designated software of contacts, messages and calendar managing. The problem was, when I tried to copy (ctrl+c) and paste (ctrl+v) the files to another folder in my PC, all of the messages lost their date and time, and got the current date and time. Also, their filenames changed to "[original date and time of send].vmg". I could not find away to prevent this from happening, and when I tried to use explorer to explore the phone, the only folder that appeared in "nokia phone browser" was my gallery. I couldn't find help on the internet. I was sure I did this process before, as I had the old messages. I decided to try an older version of pc suite. Luckilly I kept the installer of the 6.8 version, so I removed 7.1, installed 6.8 and the problem was solved! Apparently the phone browser of version 6 allows you to view the deep contents of your phone, while 7 do not, and instead uses other built-in programs to do so.

  • Changing tab control strings

    I found that if I modify the TEST_UUTS string in ModelStrings.ini, I can change the text displayed in my entry point button.
    [MODEL]
    TEST_UUTS = "ATE TEST"
    SINGLE_PASS= "DEBUG"
    Similarly, I made changes to UIControlOperatorInterfaceStrings.ini to change what shows up in the tabs for my Top-Level VI in the TestStand 3.5 Operator Interface.
    [TSUI_OI_MAIN_PANEL]
    EXECUTION = "Test Execution"
    SEQUENCE_FILE = "Test Sequence"
    Now for my questions - one specific, one general
    1) If I add a page (tab) to my tab control (say Quick  BIT), I was told I could just create a contant in CustomStrings.ini and TestStand would grab the text out of that file.
    [TSUI_OI_MAIN_PANEL]
    QUICK_BIT = "Quick BIT"
    How/where does it do that?  I assume this constant (QUICK_BIT) would have to be unique and it would have to be specified in one of the properties dialog boxes somewhere?
    2) In general, where does TestStand use these contants (say, for example, the one for TEST_UUTS)?

    Hi,
    You have to call the TestStand - localize Front Panel.vi, which is found in the TestStand Palette in your LabVIEW. You need to provide the Engine reference which you can obtain from IAppllicationMgr.GetEngine and also a string containing the section name found in your CustomStrings.ini
