PC suite not detecting phone

Hi,
I have updated the firmware on my N80, but now PC suite cannot detect the phone, however, I can connect to the internet even if the phone is not detected.
I installed the updated PC suite, uninstalled it, and reverted to the older version, nothing works.
Can someone please assist?

Hi everybody. After reading thru jinglebell method. I found an even easire method... just go to control panel add remove options and remove all the programs Nokia. This you can confirm if check the publisher column. The 4 programs i deleted were Nokia Connectivity Cable driver, Nokia Suite, pc connectivity solution, and windows driver package -- nokia pccsmcfd.....
After this I restarted the computer and re installed nokia suite.... as soon as it was complete I attached the usb chord to my mobile and it was detected and worked normally...
hope this helps others as well. Cheers!

I have a solution. You see, I've updated pc suite from an old version to version 6.8x for my friend but his phone(N80) was no longer being detected by the pc suite. So i tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still same problem. So I figured that there must be a conflict or something with the old version still probably existing in the system. So after I removed pc suite and connection cable from add/remove in control panel, I started manually checking if there is anything concerning nokia and I found that there is a folder called PC Connection solution under program files so i tried to delete it but couldn't so i deleted it from safe mode. After i did that, i deleted all registry keys by going to run and typing regedit: Under Local machine, under software there were two folders, nokia and pc connection solutions. I deleted both, and then restarted back into windows. I installed 6.8x (I don't know if it was 6.81 or something, but doesn't matter). Connection wizard came up, I plugged the usb chose the pc suite option on the phone and bang! everything worked normal. So that's how I got it to work. I don't think any other way would work except formatting windows
I hope this will help people with this kind of problem.
God Bless all of you.

  • Ovi Suite Not Detecting Phone

I have an Nokia 5800 XM and when I plug it into my computer I get the message on my computer and I select the "PC Suite" option...
My operating system which is Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit detects my phone and tells me it's there...
I go into Ovi Suite and it can't see my phone, I tell it to find it and it can not find it.
I have version 2.2.1.23, which is the latest, it is driving me nuts I can't get it working so I can't install any apps onto my phone unless I go through my WiFi and download that way, but I also want to put music and videos onto my phone and I like how Ovi puts them in folders and applies the album art, if I just "Copy/Paste" the music over it has no album art and I need to do it manually...
If anyone knows how I can fix this, I will be very happy and grateful

Sorted! Uninstall your software. then download the ovi suite on www.nokia.com/ovisuite

  • Help! PC suite not detecting my 6131!

i just downloaded the nokia PC suite, but im having trouble seeing as the suite wont acknowledge my phone. i open the Get Connected screen and select the cable connection method, click next and connect the cable to the computer then to the phone. the phone registers that it has been connected by saying "USB data cable connected. Select mode" so i select the default mode and the usb symbol appears at the top of the screen, but the Get Connected screen stays in the "connect cable" step. it doesn't acknowledge that my phone has been connected to the computer, and no matter how long i wait it, it does nothing. i close the Get Connected screen, and still the suite says "no phones connected"

Is the settings in your N79 for the data cable set to "PC Suite Mode" or "Always Ask on Connection"?
Did you try a different PC?
Is the phone getting detected as a removable drive when you connect it in Mass storage mode?

My PC is not recognizing my 6265i. It was working fine with PC Suite last week, but in windows explorer I renamed the phone from "6265i" (or whatever it was) to something different. I don't know if this is the problem, but now the phone isn't being recognized anywhere in windows or by PC Suite. i do get a "use as data storage device" on the phone when I plug it into USBm, though. Can anyone help me?
    Thanks

I have the most recent version of PC Suite (just downloaded new today).
Anyhow, after uninstalling and reinstalling about 7 times, I realized that it was the cable connection at my phone. it appears as though sometimes the prongs would be missaligned or touching or something, so that my PC wouldn't recognize the phone. If I move the cable around where it meets the phone my PC eventually recognizes it.
and BTW, I'm using a $0.99 CA-53 from eBay, so that's prolly why. oh well, a half hour of messing around is worth the extra $39.01 that Telus charges for the Nokia CA-53
I have the same problem with my 6265i, My pc will detect the phone & ask to use as data memory, I have tried everything, it just keeps telling that it cant locate phone, I hae tried older pc Suite models & the newest version. I am running XP and like I mentioed when I plug in it does reconize the data card, but without the card in pc suite wont locate my phone. The nokia site doesnt list the 6265i on the list, can anybody peaze help???

  • Nokia 6102i PC SUITE not recognizing phone

I opened the latest version of PC SUITE and clicked "Get Connected". I went through the wizard till I got to the part that said now connect your cable to the computer than to your phone. It has been on that page for 15 minutes. When I don't use PC SUITE the computer doesn't recognize it.
    Thanks,
    Chase

You have my sympaathy, but some encouragement ..-->
since I have suffered similar issues with a 6021
I feel that this softwrae is not too good to be honest.
    I have just installed
    NPCS 6.81.13,
    run XPPro 2002 SP2,
& use the CA42 USB(?) cable.
Also ran PC suite cleaner in attempt to remove all traces of the previous version, before loading 6.81.13
Now, on reboot with the phone connected, i get a new hardware found message, looking for a -
PCI simple communications Controller, Windows can't install it, so presumably its part/consequence of the NPCS install but I can't see where to find the relevant software on the Nokia site, and given I installed as instructed by the software, find it a bit bemusing!
    >> ANY help with this please?
HOWEVER, an encouragement then - I do find that my PC does find the phone, but the occurence is random to say the least! I think there are several conditions that will facilitate the connection -
Reboot PC, and give it a few mins to 'settle down' (3-5, make a coffee or something)
Attached cable, BUT ensure Phone is active, no screen saver - front page offering menu, battery & signal state
I also spotted in other posts, similar issues with struggling to get the setup correct, not finding the phone today when it was found Ok yesterday, so maybe the software is just not up to the job?

  • Ovi does not detect 5800 XM

    Hi,
I'm using 5800XM on 2 PC. one is working fine, synchronizing is OK.
On other PC, OVI Suite does not detect phone! (Hardware detection of Windows shows 5800XM, but also the MTP driver problem. Folder deletion trick does not help!)
    Versions:
    Nokia Ovi Suite 2.1.1.1(German)
    PC Connectivity Solution 10.6.2.0
    Connectivity Cable Driver 7.1.27.0
Nokia Ovi Suite Software Updater 2010.6.0.60359
    Maps Service API 3.0.38.0
    Nokia mPlatform 2.6.86
    Ovi Desktop Sync Engine 1.1.0.82
    Windows XP SP3 german
    Phone: v50.0.005
What can I do???? I think, it's not a problem of the phone, because it works at first PC.
    Thanks for Help,
    Christian

    Hi Christian,
It is not the problem with the phone I guess.. Even I had same problem with my same 5800 XM on my own computer. Then I tried installing the recent version of the NOKIA PC SUITE instead of OVI SUITE. You can get this in Nokia website, under the tab support and download software.
    1. Install and run the PC SUITE.
    2. Connect your Phone in PC Suite mode.
    3. Let the PC Suite to detect your Phone and finish its all work.
    4. Then, Open the OVI SUITE.and try adding your new device/phone.
It shold fix your problem, Christian!
Have a nice day ahead. Take Care.

  • PC and phone not detecting each other

Basically I tried to connect my mother's n70 to my computer (vista Ultimate 32bit) using the CA-53 cable. However I was just given the prompt unknown device installed, and PC Suite was not detecting anything. So basically I had no choice but to just abandon it and try to connect my phone (5800) to the PC. However, the phone now does not detect being connected to the PC, and Ovi Suite cannot detect the phone as well. Trying it out on PC Suite, it gives me the error "No connection type available, wizard will now close" or something along those lines.
Its the first time this has happened to me so I have no clue. I've already tried repairing, and uninstall reinstall but still nothing.
    Advice would be appreciated.
Oh yeah, anyone knows of a way to get a hold of the actual files of the messages and contacts synced to Ovi Suite?
If you find my post helpful please click the green star on the left under the avatar. Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

My laptop doesnt have bluetooth, and I dont have a dongle. However its not cable, as I have three cables here (2 CA-101, and a CA-101D), and they all dont work.
Anyway, I found a fix here about using PC Suite cleaner, I found one which was compatible with PC Suite 7, and now they can find the USB ports. The problem now is the phone still doesn't detect the connection. Oh well. I'll just try to give it a reset. I have a recent backup anyway.
EDIT: never mind. After the PC Suite reinstallation where they started finding the USB ports again, and I just turned off my mobile for 5 min without the battery, I tried connecting it again and the drivers started installing. Thanks for the time anyway.

  • Phone USB disconnect not detected

On my one PC, PC Suite does not detect when I disconnect my E51 phone from the USB cable in PC Sync mode.
This one happens on this specific PC, so it must be a setup problem there.
I am running PC suite 6.85.14.1 on WinXP SP2 patched up to date. No problem on another box with same motherboard and software using the same phone.
If I connect in data transfer mode, I use the "safely remove hardware" function of WinXP before I disconnect and all is fine. This is not available in PC Suite mode.
If I unplug the cable from the phone in PC suite mode, PC Suite does not detect that the phone is disconnected, no matter how long I wait.
After this, the whole USB system seems to be confused. No other USB devices are detected when plugged into any other USB port. After reboot all is fine again.
I guess this is a Windows problem rather than a PC suite problem.
Any idea what is going wrong and how to correct this?

i had other similar problem with usb devices, maybe when we use more usb devices could be a conflict on system, does exist a tool that clean up all old usb connection?
    bye.

  • PC suite does not detect E61 anymore using bluetoo...

PC suite used to be able to connect with my E61 using bluetooth. Out of the blue PC Suite failed to detect my phone even though the PC detects the phone and the phone pairs with the PC. Cable connection works fine, so I can live without it, but I would like to use bluetooth if possible. I have just updated PC Suite to 6.82.22 and also updated the E61, but the phone is still not detected. Any help would be great.

Open Nokia Connection Manager -> what BT connection is active?
Anyway, disable it and then active it from Nokia Connection Manager...can you now see your phone (wait e.g. 2 minutes)?
If not, click PC Suite > Get Connected and try search your phone -> Can you find it??

My iphone is no longer working I have black screen with a picture of the itunes logo and a USB cable.  When I try to connect my iphone to itunes the device is not detected, can anyone help me? I desperatley need my phone back

I have had a 3GS for 2+ years.  After upgrading to IOS 4 (now 4.3.5) I began having problems.  In the past week, my screen went to the itunes logo and USB cable twice -- unprovoked -- just found it sitting there like that!  I connected to itunes and it did restore from a backup but it is a major inconvenience.  I am also searching for answers, but better back-up regularly!

  • ITunes had an error while trying to update my iPhone 6+ and now the phone is bricked (and iTunes is not detecting it)

So I tried Installing iOS 8.3 onto my iPhone 6+, updated iTunes to the latest version, 12.1.2, downloaded the update for the phone, connected my phone - it detected fine like it always does. When I tried installing, it went to about halfway or so and then iTunes said there was a problem updating the phone.
The phone icon disappeared from iTunes and when I checked the phone it was giving the blank screen. I tried turning it off and on again... It showed the apple logo, and then the connect to itunes icon, but iTunes is not detecting it.
Even if I take it out and put it back in again, even with the hard reset holding the home and power buttons. I'm running Windows 8.1. So far I've tried the hard reset, cleaning the connector pins, switching to a a different USB port, reinstalling iTunes, checking to see if the Apple Mobile Device software is up to date, even using a previous restore point in windows.
The device makes a noise when it gets plugged in, indicating that it's being detected by the computer, but iTunes... nothing. And my phone is stuck on showing the connect to iTunes picture and it's bricked and unusable and I'm wondering why I even bothered with this stupid update.

Most of the recent updates showed the connect to iTunes screen for a short time. But if the update was done with the iOS device connected to the computer running iTunes, the Connect to iTunes screen appeared only briefly then the update completed. If your iPhone didn't complete the update you will have to put the iPhone into Recovery Mode. Follow the steps very carefully in the link below. You might have to try several times to get your phone into Recovery Mode.
