Pci/network controller 584037-001

Hello, awhile ago I had a virus and I messed up my computer removing it manually. Lesson learned. :/ I just reinstalled windows 7 32 bit on my computer, model number 584037-001 and I cannot connect to the internet. I installed all of the network drivers on the support portal via a flash drive, but my device manager has a yellow "!" next to the Network controller, PCI Device, and PCI Simple Communications controller.  The Ethernet controller is working fine, the network drivers on the support portal fixed them. I am at my wits end here, after reinstalling windows I thought my computer would be fine, but I am very frustrated. I need this laptop for college. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Hi:
Below is the link to the driver you need.
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32...
This should be the link to the card reader driver (PCI device).
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-102008-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...=
I would need the hardware ID like you did for the PCI simple comms controller.
Try this one and if it doesn't work, then give me the hardware ID.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-101536-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...=
Also let me know what processor you notebook has (full description like Intel i3-350).

Hello again samyak.  You are very welcome!
The first device (the virtual adapter) is virtual network which allows you to use the computer as a "software router."  Unless you're using this PC as an Access Point this device is useless to you.  This article has more information on the service.  Your best bet is to just disable it.  Try the following.
Click Start, go to "All Programs," and select "Accessories."
Right click on "Command Prompt" and select "Run as Administrator."
Type the command "netsh wlan set hostednetwork [mode=disallow] and press Enter.  This should disable the virtual adapter.
Exit Command Prompt, reboot the computer, and verify that the device is no longer listed.
The device with the "ACPI/HPQ0004" ID actually returned two results.  The first was the Quick Launch Button software.  The other was related to Hard Drive Protection.  Try this driver.
Make sure to reboot after all of these instructions have been completed.  Then go back to Device Manager and verify whether everything looks as it should.
Continue to have a great day!

  • PCI USB2 Controller card conflicts with network card

I've installed a PCI USB2 controller card since my motherboard (IWill K266-R) only has support for USB1. However, the card seems to conflict with one of my network cards, because traffic on the internet-connected NIC is very slow, and often drops completely. Traffic to and from the other (local) NIC seems to work fine, though.
I have tried moving around all three cards in different PCI slots, I think I've tested almost every possible combination by now. I've also tried disabling as much as possible in BIOS, such as onboard sound, serial and parallel ports etc. I've tried lowering the FSB.
For now, I've removed the controller card, and is using the USB1 ports on the motherboard instead. This is very frustrating, though.
Does anyone have any suggestion on what I can try next? I've browsed forums, both this and others, but I haven't found any more hints on what to try. Could there be some setting in Arch that could affect these sorts of things?

"I guess the ATA100 card will work fine correct?"
If you mean large drive support, it may provide that or may require a firmware update to do so. You should check the manufacturer's web site for specifics. All ATA-133 cards do provide 48-bit LBA for large drive support. I'd return the Ultra ATA-66 card to the eBay seller, although many refuse to pay for return shipping, even when the mistake is their own, either through ignorance or deliberate misrepresentation. In cases such as this, it's sometimes more cost-effective to swallow the loss and keep the incorrect part.
"Will adding a jumper apply for a ATA100 card as well? I'll need a blue and gray ribbon correct?"
If you use an 80-conductor ribbon cable with color-keyed connectors, set the drive configuration jumper to CS and connect the drives to the cable as you wish (in terms of physical placement in the computer). If the ribbon cable doesn't have color-keyed connectors, set the jumper for the device connected to the end connector as Master and the drive (if any) connected to the middle connector as Slave.

    Hi!
I just reinstalled my windows 8. But after it's finished, then my wifi is not listed. And i've checked on my device manager, my network controller and pci are not installed. Is it the main cause of my wifi being not listed?
If it's right, then what should i do?

    Hi:
You need this driver for the PCI device...Download and install the first driver on the list.
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=15&PFid=25&Level=4&Conn=3&DownT...
I don't know what model wireless card your notebook has, so please do the following and I will figure that out and post the link to the wireless card driver you need.
Go to the device manager and click on the Network Controller needing drivers.
Then click on the Details tab at the top of the Network Controller window.
Now you should see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that list and select the 3rd item (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters you see in the window.

  • Yellow mark - PCI Device" and "Network controller" on Satellite A100-787

There is a yellow mark in the device manager for a driver called "PCI Device" and also for "Network controller" although the network connection (LAN) is working well and all other functions of the computer seem to be working well.
    What are those devices??

Regarding the LAN driver, it is installed and working properly (the wired one). The wireless driver is provided by Atheros which I installed from its own setup file and it didnt give me any error so I assume it is installed well although I havent tested the wireless connection yet. I am going to do that shortly.
As for the PCI device, the card reader is able to read Sony memory stick and one type of SD card with certain teeth arrangement but not another card with a different teeth type. I dont know why it is the case. so this remains a mistery to me.

Having problems with downloading a pci device and network controller driver for presario cq57? Need help. my hardware id is PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_3577103C&REV_01

    Hi:
You need to install the Realtek Card Reader driver from your notebook's support and driver page for the PCI device.
Please  do the following so I can find out what model wireless card your model uses...
Go to the device manager, find the Other Devices category, and click on the Network Controller needing drivers.
Then click on the Details tab at the top of the network controller window.
Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that and select the second item on the list (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters that begin with PCI\VEN.

After resetting windows 8.1, I only my ethernet works and I cant turn my wifi. PLEASE HELP!!!!

search your laptop for the Toshiba application installer, open it and use it to install your Wireles lan driver.
The application installer is easier than guessing which one you need from your support page.
    OR
Your support page is here - http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=1200008391
You can select the drivers tab then down the page on the left hand side select Windows 8.1 64 bit to narrow down the drivers for your operating system. Then also select Wifi and the available drivers will be displayed.
If you are getting a corrupted system after a reset your hard drive may be failing or your recovery partition may have been corrupted .  Create your recovery media if you have not done so already.

  • Driver needed for Network controller,PCI Device,SM Bus controller

Need helpt to get the drivers for win 7 64 bit for Network controller, PCI Device,SM Bus controller, Universal Serial Bus controller, PCI Encryption/Decryption controller

Hi: For the smbus and usb 3 controllers, download and install the amd chipset drivers and reboot. http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows%207%20-%2064 PCI device: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-141812-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4063&product=7174407&sw_lang= PCI Encryption/Decryption controller: Download and run this driver.  Then you have to manually install it. http://h20566.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=vc_133833_1 To manually install the driver, go to the device manager, click on the PCI E/D Controller needing the driver. Click on the driver tab.  Click on update driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file. That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp66974. Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.   Then reboot. Network controller...need the hardware ID for that because I don't know what model wireless card your model has. Since there is no wireless driver installed, there should be a device labeled Network Controller in the device manager under an Other Devices category.  The network controller device will have a little ! mark next to it. So, find the network controller device, click on that and then click on the Details tab. Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description. Drop down on that list and select the third item (Hardware ID's). Post the top string of characters you see in the window.
