Hi Mahesh,
The PCUI is nothing but peoplecentric user interface the latest UI which SAP for CRM application where in the look and feel and navigation are much better than the old GUI interface.
PCUI will give the flexibility to work on the various CRM Transactions which is linked to EP Enterprise portal ( netweaver component)
EP is nothing but the common webpage to access various SAP applications useing the single sing on functionality you can access to different sap systems like SAPR/3 ,CRM,BI,APO systems Etc
You can use and see the PCUI application view can be accessed useing tcode SE 80 from CRM 4.0,5.0 and can see the floor plan and can select the view and open any pcui view to work on .
Now SAP has recently launched the SAP CRM UI 2007 which is Web based BSP application which is build on MVC architecture concept with new look and feel with flexibility to use

Hi,
WS_* Function modules are replaced by GUI_* FMs from 4.7 SAP version.
GUI_* modules have additional parameters when compared with WS_* FMs.
Both FM are used for uploading data .
But ws_upload is obsolete now .
WS_UPLOAD and WS_DOWNLOAD, the function modules used until now are not part of the standard set of ABAP commands. They are used to display the file interface on the presentation server. WS_UPLOAD and WS_DOWNLOAD are not compatible with USs and have been replaced by GUI_UPLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD.
The new function modules, GUI_UPLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD, have an interface that also allows you to write Unicode format to the local hard drive. For a description of these interfaces, refer to the documentation for each function module, available under SAP Easy Access " Development " Function Builder " Goto " Documentation.
WS_UPLOAD, GUI_UPLOAD FMs are used in BDCs.
WS_UPLOAD loads files from the Presentation Server to Internal ABAP Tables.
This is used upto SAP 4.6 version.
GUI_UPLOAD is used to loads a file from the PC to the server. The data can be
transferred in binary or text format. Numbers and data fields can be
interpreted according to the user settings.

Cisco ISE CLI and GUI password expire

I had Cisco ISE version 1.1 i face a problem with the CLI and GUI password, as it expire and i can't login, i do the password reset using the ISE DVD,
i navigate to the ISE CLI, and do the following commands:
conf t
     password-policy
          no password-expiration-enable
and reset the GUI admin password, using the command:
     # application reset-passwd ise admin
from the ISE GUI i had remove the option for diable admin account after 45 days.
but after 60 days the password expire again.
so kindly advise what to check for this expire issue.

Yes, the last reply was more towards GUI password-mgmt because in maority of cases it happens with UI admin account. I need to know if you've restarted the ISE after disabling the expiration from the CLI because what I read few weeks ago in an internal defect that password policy configurations are not preserved on cli after restart so just to check could you please check the current settings on CLI w/ the help of show run | in password-policy.

PCUI and IC Webclient

Hi members,
I'm planning to get into CRM technical. i would really appreciate if someone could explain in what fields should I concentrate on(as in BSP, ALE.....) and how are the job prospects.
Are PCUI and IC webclient both the same?

Hi Sunil,
If you are good in ABAP and you have a fair bit of understanding on how the Web Technology works then ICWebclient would be a good option to concentrate on. In all future releases IC Webclient would be interface for CRM applications. Knowledge on IC would be good for future.
PCUI and IC are not the same. The techology they use is the same BSP however functionality wise, and functionally they are different. Please read through the document available on help.sap.com on PCUI and IC Web. You will get more idea.

While I agree with the direction of the suggestions with installing packages for X-windows, we do not have a blanket 'apply any package' recommendation.
In particular we do not support altering the kernel (although we do have exceptions which we review on a case by case basis).
Basically, if the you want to alter functionality that would not impact core functionality you are usually fine.
A good guideling is : The more dependencies that there are between the package / rpm you are considering using the higher the potential impact on functionality - meaning higher chance for problems
Note: We do use VNC including Real and Tiger regularly , but we have no hard recommendation on how you may want to use X-windows. I have never seen a limitation other than comments on bugs
or incompatibility within the X-window product itself with certain kernel levels.
Patching may overwrite some packages that you may install, however, _depending on packages/rpms added_ there is also the possibility that you will break existing functionality to the point
that patching itself will fail ( we have already seen a few cases of this in which case the proper mitigation is to remove / roll-back any alterations to the ODA before patching, and then adding the packages/rpms
back after the patching is completed.
From what you are discussing the impact should be low without conflicts, but please consider the above, and if you have specific packages which you consider potential problems
please create an SR so that we can review packages / rpms on an individual basis.
Once again: the main criteria for not supporting rpms is regarding the kernel itself

Client and GUI concurrently ?????

hi everybody,
i got a problem about gui and client. I have created a jframe and i want it to e client which connects to a server and gets the server's message. The problem is; when i created gui first, it starts to listen actions and client can't run, or if i run client class first, it starts to listen server message in a loop on run() method of thread() so action listener can't be catch. The simulation of code is below. Please help me.

PCUI and Customer H Enhancement

Hi,
I am very confused regarding enhancement and how it integrates with PCUI. I tried going through the weblog by Tiest on PCUI and EEW Integration but didnt work.
In my CRM setup, enhancements were added via SAP IMG
Customer Relationship Management->Transactions->Basic Settings->Business Add-Ins->Business Add-In for Customer Enhancements at Header Level
And the fields are appended to structure, CRMT_CUSTOMER_H_EXT. I can see the fields in transaction, CRMD_ORDER but not in PCUI.
1) How do I make the fields available in PCUI???
I did another excercise of adding fields to CI_EEW_BUT000 directly and without any additional steps, they are available in PCUI.

Question: Do I need to enter the Structure in Field Group for ZLEAD_DETAILS? And if yes, how do I find out which is the correct structure??

Cisco 1262 AP cannot access via cosole and GUI

Hi,
I have a Cisco AIR-LAP1262N-E-9 but I cannot access via console and GUI. Also, I noticed that after getting IP address from DHCP server, its IP address will be released after 2minutes. Then after a while, the access point will get another new IP address. And this happens repeatedly.

I have a WLC 5508 controller. I just want to have a basic setup for my upcoming project implementation. On my test bed, I have WLC, 2 sets of AP, and PoE L3 switch. The L3 switch serves as a DHCP server to APs. I manually set the Management Interface IP address of WLC in the same VLAN of the DHCP scope for AP just for basic connectivity. Upon powering up the APs, the WLC detected the APs. However, after 2-3 minutes, the WLC cannot detect anymore the APs. I also notice that the APs are getting their IP address to DHCP server but it will release after sometime..may about 3minutes. Then the APs will get again IP address and will release it. And this happens continuously. I just wish to hard code the IP settings to APs via console but I cannot access it.

Illustrator CC pallets and gui is huge, how do I reduce?

When upgraded to the CC version of Illustrator- all my pallets and gui is super huge. Can someone advise how to reduce this interface so my screen, icons and pallets are a normal size. I could not locatein preferences. I am on a PC if it makes a difference.

Can you share a screen image. The gui did increase in size dramatically from CS5 to CS6, but it sounds like you're talking about something more than that.
Here is an example showing CS 2014 tear off panels vs. the SAME CS 5 panels.
Actually, there is one extra panel in the CS 5 set.
I do not call this an improvement.

Difference Between PCUI and IC

       The applicaitons of PCUI and Interaction center are developed usng
BSP , They are web based .
   only UI In could find is that PCUI is more intuitive than Interaction Center .
Could you share with the importance differnce .

People Centric UI (PCUI)
People Centric User Interface provides a framework for developing web applications. This framework is based on the Business Server Page (BSP) technology and uses Model-View-Controller (MVC) programming model. PCUI developed applications can be easily integrated into SAP portals. Ease of use and excellent design principles makes PCUI a very helpful framework for developing stable, scalable and intuitive pattern based web applications.
PCUI is NOT intended as a general UI framework for all SAP customers. It is limited to CRM. Everything else is unsupported by SAP,even if shipped with others solutions like mySAP ERP.
Interaction Centre (IC)

is there any relation between pcui and other web based applications like internet sales(b2b,b2c e-sales,e-service,e-marketing,,icss) and cic(for call center users) and sap portal(channel partners/b2b-one of the application).
is there any difference between launching crm_ic directly than from launching it from crm_ic. do i do the setting for cic webclient settings in spro or se80. i think bsp applications for cic webclient are done from se80 and the configuration for cic webclient.please tell me if it is not right.
where we will generate the url for this cic webclient and internet sales so that the users can use that url and login from anywehre in the world through internet browser.

Difference between PCUI and CRM GUI

Hi all,
We are currently on CRM 5.0 and we noticed that in the CRM GUI
you have much more possibilities(and freedom) as in the PCUI version.
Eg. In the PCUI we can relate a contactperson to only 1 company while in the
gui version this is unlimited.
Another example: If we relate a contactperson to a company in the PCUI,
the address of the company is shown together with the contact person.
If we do this in the GUI(even when explicitly choosing for the copying of the address) , there is no copying of this address.
Is this default and standard SAP?
I can understand that the PCUI offers less possibilities but I can not believe that it handles another business logic then in the GUI.

Thanks for your fast response.
I'm not at my office and i'm a total novice in CRM.
How can I see which application we use?
Us was told that there is only ONE possibility for transaction BP in the portal.
Since there are differences between the two gui's, there is now the intention to rework the gui backend(with bapi's) so that it would react the same as in the portal(PCUI).
I have 10 years of overall experience in R/3 and this seems to me the world upside down.
Another intention is to let all users work from the portal(which is not very performant)
Furthermore I've difficulty to believe that SAP would offer a product(PCUI) that handles another business logic then the backend logic which is the basis of everything.
About the business address of the contact person:
In the portal we see this address together with the contact person data.
In the GUI we don't see it on the general tab(which doesn't seem to me unlogic since you can relate the same contact person to different companies)

mySAP CRM offers two user interfaces for running the business scenarios: People-centric UI (PC-UI) and SAPGUI.
For Interaction Center-based scenarios there is a choice between a WebClient and a WinClient version in addition.
SAP Best Practices for CRM supports both UI versions.
In comparison with the SAPGUI the PC-UI provides a more easy and flexible adaptation and personalization as well as a state of the art technology and look-and feel.
But in some project situations these advantages may not justify the higher installation and maintenance effort. In this case the PC-UI can still be chosen.
Nevertheless a move to the PC-UI is of course possible also in a later project phase because for most of the scenarios the UI has only a very limited dependency on the customizing.
Only the choice between WebClient and WinClient is fundamental because the customizing is different and an automated migration from WinClient to WebClient or vice versa is not supported.
