PDF and column HTML code

My report table include column with HTML format such as
<a target="_blank" href="tableA.url">tableA.url</a>
It works fine in dashbaord: I see the URL and when click on it, I got the URL in new window.
When I export to PDF, the resulting PDF display the HTML code and not just the URL.
Any ideas?

1. open the web application designer
2. left side u'll be seeing the applications like Table, dropwdown box , check box etc
3.usually u drag and drop the application from left to right side--> once u dropped it u'll see 3 tabs at the bottom in that one of the Tab is HTML just click on it, it will lead u to the coding part.

Hi Thanks for reply,but my dear freind as I written in my previous mail also that I am having account in google adsense and as per the given instructions only,when i try to paste the html code,which was generated from their adsense adposting , i try to paste that code after opening the html sources box,that code was not accepted.The html source window was slightly blocked.
And for your information i am not try to paste any other code from any otherwebsite like word press etc

When i paste and copy the html code (web widget- snipet) from ebay to my iweb site it converts the price from uk £'s into US $'s. How can i stop this.

SSI, shtml and repetitive HTML code

Hello,
Over the last couple of weeks I've learned how to make drop down menus (basic stuff, ul/li with css styling - the "fancy" part is "rounded corners" :-) ). They look very nice and work quite well on my site. I made one drop down menu on one page of the site and was going to wait until the site was completed, then add the "final" drop down to all 40 pages.
Thinking a bit about a css style sheets and java functions, I wondered if there was a way to write a small file, attach it to a series of pages, then if necessary just change the one small file, and have it applied to all pages (didn't want to do a template).
Googling a bit I found the concept of SSI and "include" HTML functions - it works very well on my site.
My question to the group is:
If you were to have something repetitive (footer, header, navbar, etc), and if you didn't want to use a template would you use
(1) include function,
(2) some type of javascript file, or
(3) some other method?

For other newbies such as myself, I'll mention a couple of things I learned while doing this.
1 - There are many pages on the web that talk about using SSI, but it is clear that they really don't understand it. What I've learned is that your "major page" (the page into which you insert the "include" code) needs to be labeled xxxxx.shtml. The "s" in front of the "html" lets the server know that it has to "include" other stuff before it's piped out to the browser.
2 - The "minor page" file - that small amount of code that you insert into the major page - is labeled xxxx.html.
3 - An ISP might not have SSI turned on (I'm not sure why) so if the two files together don't work, contact your ISP to see if they have turned on SSI, and
4 - The reference code in the "major page" looks like a typical html comment.
My line of code that works fine is:

I have not yet experimented with adding a few spaces to see if that would disable the line.
I have yet to experiment to see if changing the extension of the .html file will allow the system to continue to work.
More experimentation for me!

Convert Pages document to PDF and maintain html links accurately

Hi - I am trying to convert a Pages document to pdf, simple right? go to Print / PDF / Save as pdf...
I have also tried Print / Save as Postscript and Print / Open in PDF
with the same results, which are...
Pages dutifully converts to pdf, but on some pages where I have multiple links the formatting position of the links is all over the place on the page, some links are conflated on the page so it says one thing 'www.bbc.co.uk' for example but when you click that link it links to 'www.cnn.com' instead because CNN is the link a little further on in the line, or in the line of text above, or whole sections of the page (half of one page) become a link!
I have checked the formatting positions and link lables over and over again in Pages and they are spot on, no confusion, no leaking in positional accuracy, it is only when converting to pdf or postscript
I have many html links in my document so it is vital that the exact position of the formatted links in Pages is converted accurately.
Any advice on
a) using Pages Print command accurately? or
b) third party apps (really dont want to go there)
that might convert more accurately?

I went back to 09 as suggested which identified the section in question as having a whole load of text that had become associated with one of the links - goodness knows how or why - but this wasn't apparent in the Pages 5 doc, nothing explicit signified that there was an issue with the formatting until converting to pdf
It took me a while to strip it all out without losing all the other formatting! but done now and converting beautifully to pdf with complete accuracy in terms of formatting positions of linked text...
I then reimported back into Pages 5 to see if I could make sense of it in the same way, long story short no chance, there is still background formatting in there, despite going through it line by line, character by character and removing all traces of any link through the 'right click' 'remove link' function - as soon as you convert to pdf lots of text becomes active again even though it is absolutely not visible in the Pages 5 doc
Clearly, despite a strong desire to continue in 5 from a being uptodate perspective, I shall stick to the 09 world and wait for Apple to sort things out.
If anyone from Apple is reading this, it has cost me approx 2 days of messing about to get to a point where I give up on 5 and return to 09. Please resolve as soon as possible!

Using RH10 - what's the easiest way to create and save HTML code as a snippet for later re-use?

I am using RH10 to maintain and update several WebHelp projects for customer-facing Internet applications. I am noticing inconsistencies in css and html so I would like to create several snippets for later re-use. My wishlist, so far: FAQ page with internal bookmarks, product image with table of callouts, and basic page template with corporate header and footer. What's the easiest way to save / export a page that I want to use later as a snippet? Thank you.

Hi! If I have html code in my fx column and I want to print PDF I see html code and I want to see result of this code...
I see this in my analysis:

Any examples that shows PDF and HTML generated by indesign document side-by-side?

I am finding it hard to find example on the net of an indesign generated PDF, and also HTML exported from same document.
I'd like to see how good indesign export to HTML is by comparing the content of the pdf to the HTML side-by-side.
Any one knows if there examples like this on the net anywhere? The more complicated the document the better.
I do not have indesign myself, and was thinking of buying it.

Download InDesign Trial, learn it, then make your tests yourself. Be aware that if you know how to handle styles you will get complete different results. So the first thing you have to do, is to learn styles and no-gos, which are very important in HTML/EPUB export.
(No-gos are e.g. getting space between paragraphs with multiple return or shift return, hard line break, multiple spaces, etc.)
Then you have to know the limitations of HTML compared to PDF.

Html code exported instead of text

I created an interactive report via a SQL query and used html code for one column in this SQL query:

This column is displayed correctly (the text1 is diplayed as a link and text2 is displayed as text) in this interactive report, however, once user uses the download function, the html code {a href=JavaScript:newPopup("f?p=&APP_ID.:PageId:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.:::"); }text1{a} text2 is exported.
Is there any way to fix this issue?

at. For instance, it should be pointing at the HTM file, but which
HTM file?

My OS X Mountain Lion PDF wont open - invaild code - Please help

I bought this MacBook Pro on june 21. Its brand new, so yes I qualify for the free Mountain Lion upgrade. I finally got my 2 emails and I seriously have no idea what to do. The instructions make no sense at all. I open the PDF and enter my code I was given via Email and its too long / doesnt fit in the Protected Password PDF. I click enter, doesnt work, I enter parts of it, and it doesnt work. no matter what it doesnt work. I tried entering the code on the Reedem section of the Mac App store, still does NOT work. What am I doing worng? I called the Apple store and they said I was entering the code in worng. I am NOT entering it in wrong, I copy paste it and it just doesnt work. I entered it multiple times with the - and without it and it just wont work! Someone please help! I was promised a FREE mountain lion upgrade and I really want it for the Airplay feature!

Since these forums are user to user only, you will have to deal with Apple on this; I'd suggest emailing their MAS support and telling them that you've gotten an incorrect code (copy/paste it in the email). Ask them for a new one or instructions on what to do with it.
Just an added thought: when you launch MAS (from your dock, Launchpad, or Applications folder), on the home / front page, do you see a "Redeem" link under Quick Links on the right side of the page? When you click on that, you should get a second window with a "enter your gift card or download code" section? Or is that the place where you've already tried it?

IWeb hangs (spinning beachball) when I try to paste HTML code from DW-why?

Can anyone tell me why this might be happening? When I try and paste HTML code from Dreamweaver using Web Widgets. Then the only solution is to Force Quit which means I lose any other work I've already done in iWeb. Anyone else had this problem? Is there a workaround?

Why does Contribute generate extraneous HTML code?

Why does Contribute CS4 generate so much extraneous HTML code that is either redundant or conflicts with styles specified in our style sheet? Below are examples of what we've encountered in the first two weeks of using the product. It seems that, if we keep using Contribute, our website will soon be cluttered with junk code. (Some of the special characters listed below and generated by Contribute do not display correctly in this forum.)
1. This simple Heading 1 tag: <h1>Heading 1</h1>
gets replaced with this code:
Heading 1 
2. This simple Heading 2 tag: <h2>Heading 2</h2>
gets replaced with this code:

3. This simple Paragraph tag: Text
gets replaced with this code:

4. The standard straight quote symbol (") gets replaced with left and right quotes (“) (”)

I've just written a detailed list of editing tips for our internal use that, in addtion to using "Paste Text Only", describe how to avoid or re-key Microsoft Office curly quotes and apostrophes, use only Contribute's Insert | Special Characters, etc.
In addition, I created a new role in which I made the following changes:
Under Editing, under“General editing restrictions”, checked the “Prevent users from inserting images (except shared assets); under “Paragraph spacing, changed so “Enter key moves insertion point down:” “Two lines, as in web page editors (uses standard tags”; under “Other editing options”, unchecked “Allow multiple consecutive spaces”
Under Styles and Fonts, under “Styles and Fonts”, unchecked “Include CSS styles in the Style menu; unchecked “Allow users to apply fonts and sizes”; and unchecked “Allow users to apply font color and background color”.
Under New Pages, unchecked “Create a blank page”
Our initial experimentation indicates this eliminates most of the extraneous and junk HTML code that Contribute otherwise introduces. Time will tell. However, it requires contributors to be pretty rigorous.

Create a string from HTML code

Hello to all,
What i have already create is a web browser integrate into a VI project and from this i can read some values like temperature or humidity. Also i have put a HTML window in order to take this values and to export to a string (for example to check these values from the browser and to be able to see in separate constat). Can you help how to do this with an example??

Below i have attached the code and the HTML code from the sensor. If you have to recommend anything it will be usefull for me. I have another problem now. If you see in the HTML code you will see that i have three different values to export(temperature, humidity and dewpoint) but all of them have the same regular expression in order to request in my code. Do you know how is it possible to solve this problem because always i take the same temperature value for three of them.
