PDF file into word????? Can any of you Experts answer this question?

My company has an online brochure in PDF format. Can I convert this flie into word so I can cut and paste it. I would like to make a power point presentation on it for training. Can anyone tell me if this can be done?

Its not possible with Adobe Reader. The max that you will be able to achieve via Reader X is to convert your PDF to a text file (.txt).
To enable your PDF to be saved as a word file (.DOC) or many other formats, you will need Adobe Acrobat X.

I have paid for this service for a year and it never worked on my computer. I just renewed and it finally converted the file but it will not let me edit it. I join you in being bummed. Either I get help with this or I am asking for a 2 year refund. My intention was to be able to edit a pdf in MS Word.

I am trying to convert a pedigree chart so I can put it in my family's genealogy book. I need to make some corrections on it. It was created on a MAC and I am on a PC. This may be part of the problem. I am on Windows 8 on a 1-year old Samsung computer laptop. I have Adobe Reader XI on it. It says that I can convert a PDF to an Excel or Word file for editing.
It looks like computer code to me.

Can't put serveral PDF files into one document any more.

I used to able to scan several PDF files into one document onto my desktop. I no longer can. I have Windows7 OS and a HP Photosmart 6515 printer. PS. Just the other day I had someone remotely access my computer to fix a MagicJack (computer connected phone) issue and who knows what they might have done. Thank you anyone.

Unable to convert PDF file into word document

I just signed up with Adobe in order to convert a PDF file into a word document and it continues to fail. Any suggestions.

If you have adobe X, simply go to "File" -> "Save-As" and Microsoft Word is an option. Also, there is a download (paid) called Able2Extract that will allow you to convert pdfs to word, excel, etc. but the formatting is often lost. If you get the premium package, you can even convert scanned documents. I've used Adobe X to do the conversion, and it retains headers, footers and all formatting.
And i personally share you with a article about how to converting PDF files to Word(.doc), you just need to follow the easy guide.

I need to submit a form electronically which has been posted on a tender site in PDF format.
I followed the instructions and signed up to 12 mths of Adobe product which outlined that I would be able to convert PDFs to word.... however the box in the right hand "tools" column is still not highlighted.
I have pressed "convert" and then clicked on the blue writing saying "view converted files" and all that happens is a new tab opens with a rotating set of 4 blue squares !!!!!

Converting forms to Word almost never gives a usable form, the layout is too precise. In the worst case, official forms, this can lead to trouble. To fill forms stick exclusively to PDF.
If you can type in the PDF, do so.
If you can't, print it out and write on it, that's what they expect you to do.

Yesterday we had SAN storage problem from our unix admin and all the databases were down due to the san problem.
all the mount points are now ok and when i started one of the database i got this problem

Did you multiplex the control file ? May be you have multiplexed on another file system with names like control02.ctl, control03.ctl... etc. If yes, just make a copy of control02.ctl and put in the location of control01.ctl. Also rename the copy of control02.ctl to control01.ctl and try to restart the database.
If only one control file was there, then you have to re-create the controlfile. Please go through the following docs.

Also before doing anything, please take the backup of your database (ofcourse in this case it will be cold backup).

From a system performance point of view, you should model an object on a characteristic rather than on a navigation attribute. The reasons for this are as follows:
·        In the enhanced star schema of an InfoCube, navigation attributes lie one join further out than characteristics. This means that a query with a navigation attribute has to run an additional join (compared with a query with the same object as a characteristic) in order to arrive at the values. This is also true for ODS objects.
·        For the same reason, in some situations, restrictions for particular values in the navigation attribute (values that have been defined in the query) are not taken into account by the database optimizer when run schedules are created. This can result in inefficient run schedules, particularly if the restrictions are very selective. In most cases, you can solve this problem by indexing the navigation attribute in the corresponding master data tables (see below.)
·        If a navigation attribute is used in an aggregate, this aggregate has to be adjusted using a change run as soon as new values are loaded for the navigation attribute (when master data for the characteristic belonging to the navigation attribute is loaded.) This change run is usually one of the processes that are critical to the system performance of a production BW system. This is why, by avoiding using navigation attributes or not using navigation attributes in aggregates, you can improve the performance of this process. On the other hand, not using navigation attributes in aggregates can lead to poor query response times. The data modeler needs to find the right balance.
