PDF not restoring layout once saved

Hello,
I have a form that lets you removed questions (tables) via a minus button. However if a user removes them, saves the PDF and then repoens it later, the removed questions are come back. Anything that is typed will be saved, but the tables keep coming back. I have "preserve scripting changes" set to automatic in Form Properties -> Defaults, but that doesn't seem to affect the tables. I also have everything's binding set to it's own name. Here is a link to my file.
Thank you very much for any help or information you can provide.
Chris

Don'y feel stupid ...it is a common mistake.
The normal binding uses the FieldName as the node name in the XML data file that is created. This is an option when you are NOT using a schema (that has a definiation of what the data structure shoudl be).
The Global binding allows you to tie numerous fields with the same name(presumably on different pages) to the same value. This of a customer number that needs to appear on each page. By naming the field the same on each page and setting the binding to Global you are equating all of those fields together. This ,means that if you change the value on any page, that value is reflected to all fields of that name.
Hope that helps
Paul

  • PDF not restoring data once saved

    Hi guys,
I've designed my form in Livecycle.
I have then enabled "extend features in adobe reader" to allow my recipients the "Save as" option when they fill out the form.
When I enter data, open it in Adobe Reader and fill it out, go to Save as and save the file as a different file name.
Close Adobe Reader and reopen the newly saved document, my form opens but all the form data has been removed.
I cannot find too much information on this subject apart from the thread in 2008 where the problem was pointing to the initialize form commands. I have since removed all these but the data is still being erased.
Any help with regard to this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste (command-V) into the text box that opens, then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
I've seen an unconfirmed report that the "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you might need to remove it as well, if applicable.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Manual signature not restored while saving as word or excel in Adobe acrobat!

    HI there,
I need help with the below.
We have a letter headed paper with some notes and a manual signature below. Now we scan this to pdf. And this pdf will be saved as word to make changes if necessary.
But the problem is that when we use the save as feature to word in acrobat, it is not restoring the signature.
The reason for buying Acrobat for  atleast 8 people is to be able to acheive this but it seems like the licenses are wasted unless there is a work around to this problem.
Does anyone else have a similiar problem?
Would be grateful to hear your experiences and any solution to this.
    Thanks
    AR

I just tested a scanned letter with my signature and it exported to Word as an image graphic. In the Save As dialog (when saving as a Word file), there is a Settings... button. When you click this do you have "Include Images" checked?

    Hello agardner37701,
I found some steps you can take when your iPhone is not recognized by iTunes when in Recovery Mode.  I recommend reviewing the steps in the section titled "If the device is not recognized while in Recovery Mode" under step 5 in the following article:

  • ITunes could not restore the iPhone because the backup could not be saved on this computer

    Dears,
Today I planned to update my iPhone 4 to iOS7.
After update while my iPhone was connected to the computer, it didn't work and iTunes asked me to restore my iPhone before I can use it.
Well, I had to click Ok and iPhone was restore to factory settings and removed everything.
Now I went to iTunes again to restore the entire backup I created eariler for the photos, videos, contacts and everything 20+GB.
The iTunes starts the restore process but stoppes in the middle of the progress and gives the error:
iTunes could not restore the iPhone"My iPhone Name" because the backup could not be saved on this computer.
I tried 3 times but no avail.
If my C: drive is almost full and it might be the issue, can I move my backup files to another location D: drive for example and restore them to my iPhone?
    Please help me.
    Thank you.

I get the same issue w/ an iPad that I just updated to the latest iOS.  I made the backup before upgrading the iOS.  Now when i try to restore that backup made 35 min or so ago, I get this error.  Help!

  • Printing/Saving to PDF not working

When trying to save to pdf, I get this message:
"Saving a PDF file when printing is not supported. Instead, choose File > Save."
I have Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.1
So far I have been unable to save any documents to pdf. I am trying to print specific pages of an existing pdf to a new pdf with the pages I want.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

    Hi
I see the same thing with Reader, seems they've chosen to restrict it in that fashion.
Preview works ok, but sure, doesn't open some pdf's.

  • Saving as a PDF -How do you make the PDF not bigger than the original file?

I am running Mac OS X Panther.
I understand that Mac OS X creates a "Digital Master" PDF file, which is larger than a typical PDF file because the resolution of images in the file is not scaled down. The PDF file includes each font character used in the document.
    Problem is this.
I actually want the PDF NOT to be bigger than the original document file.
    Can anyone please help?
    Thanks
    J Slater

    jslat,
It's probably most important to know exactly what you intend to do with the saved pdf file? Are you going to need to print the pdf etc.?
This Apple Knowledge Base article may help if you haven't already read it:

    littleshoulders [:-)
edit: You have posted in the 10.3 Panther OS and earlier forum and you appear to be using 10.4 (Tiger) by your computer specs below your topic which may handle pdf's somewhat differently. In your post you mention Panther so I just wanted to clarify if need be.

  • I upgraded to ios6 on ipod touch and after I completed a sync on my PC but I suppose it did not sync, because now it will not restore from a back up and wants to restore from another account that I have saved.  Can I some how restore from the apps?

I upgraded to ios6.1.3 on ipod touch and after I completed a sync on my PC but I suppose it did not sync, because now it will not restore from a back up and wants to restore from another account that I have saved.  Can I some how restore the apps to avoid having to pay for them again and having to recreate settings?

As I said, the backup that iTunes makes does not include apps (and music) if those items where not in the iTunes library on the computer on which you restored they will not be on the iPod.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Not much you can do.  You overwrote your current data with older data when you restored the phone from that backup.  Your data's gone.

I have my catalog "Back Up Each Time Lightroom Exits" checked, and always have. That means the catalog should have been backed-up and saved everyday, if not more than once on some dates. So with a a major problem now and needing to use the Catalog backup from last Friday, I go to my Lightroom Backups folder - and the most recent one showing not only isn't yesterday, it's OCTOBER 28 !?? Where the hell are the daily backups between October 28 and November 14?

Oh wow - JET LAG strikes agin - my apologies; I have located the missing weeks of back-ups. After getting home from a 30-day trip to Europe, I had changed the location of my LR catalog back-ups to an external drive, and forgot that I did that. I have found them, and all is good. Never operate Heavy Machinery without enough rest. Cheers

  • When firefox crashes it not restoring my tabs I once had up ? :(

when firefox crashes it not restoring my tabs I once had up ? :(

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
If you get that "Well, this is embarrassing" window then that means that Firefox has crashed more than once and there should be a sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak file.

  • My history restore function does not work - neither a saved history nor the dated entries the browser saves. How can this be fixed?

I carefully and specifically used the backup function in an attempt to backup my history before I cleared it to try to fix another problem. However, on trying to restore the history, I instead found out that only the bookmarks had been backed up and my history was lost. Why be so cruel as to offer what seems to be a history backup but in reality is not?
Yes, I should have used FEBE, but since there was a button and menu on the "Show all history" library, the implication is that it is the history, not the bookmarks that are being backed up. That's irresponsible at best.

There is an extension to backup the history, but as far as I know there is no way to restore history once deleted unless you would restore a copy of the places.sqlite file that has this history.
