PDF Print out of FormCentral

When a user fills out a form created in FormsCentral, if they want a paper print out it, the text that they have inserted into the text box will not print out if it is extends beyond the text box area.
Is there a way of having all the text they have inserted print out?

We are working on a way to make this better... in the mean time you can do one of two things :
1) In the View Responses Tab, print the Detail View of the row instead (File > Detail View. The print button is at the bottom of the the detail view)
2) or make your boxes bigger in the Design Tab (this will also change the size of the boxed in your fillable form).

PDFs print out darker in Windows Reader 9.0 than Mac Reader 9.0, also Win Reader 9.0 darker than 8.x

Hi,
Using Adobe Reader 8.1.2 for Mac OS X and 8.* for Windows, my PDFs printed out identically for both platforms.
However, after I upgraded Windows Adobe Reader from 8 to 9.0.0, it prints out the PDFs significantly darker than before, whereas when I upgraded the OS X Adobe Reader from 8.1.2 to 9.0.0, the print outs did not get any darker.
Now they are both on v9.0.0, Windows printouts are significantly darker than the OS X printouts, using the same PDF file, printer, etc.
Any idea what's going on here? Is there some of weird gamma correction-type thing going on - although I thought that only affected monitor displays, not print outs? Or should I report it as a bug?

I also tried printing it out from other PDF viewers - Preview.app on OS X and Foxit Reader on Windows - and they both print out normally i.e. the same as Adobe Reader 8.* for all platforms, and 9.0 for OS X - definitely not as dark as Adobe Reader 9.0.0 for Windows.
I'm running OS X 10.5.4 and Windows XP Professional as a VM using Parallels.
Needless to say, I want to be able to generate PDFs that have the same darkness regardless which PDF viewer or OS platform is being used to print it out.

The file that I have sent her has both vector and raster graphics in it, and they were apparently printing fine. It just seems to be text that's not printing correctly.

PDF printing out background placeholder text in fillable forms

I'm trying to print out a PDF which has fillable form fields. The Date of Birth text field has a faint grey placeholder text dd/mm/yyyy. Everytime those fields are filled in, the dd/mm/yyyy will also print out in the background. Is this an option that can be turned off or is it something to do with how the form was made?

PDF print out prints page number 1/1*

I have a Web Dynpro report that when I print out in PDF format, the page number prints out as 1/1* of the length of report is greater than 100. Is there any way to work around this?

Pdf print out of WAD

Hi Experts -
I created a customized WAD by copying the 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN standard template of SAP.
I have just added a logo on the top of it by using a container.
When I print it out using print version I am not able to see the logo ?
Also the output of pdf is a not as expected - first its showing me Ststic filters then dynamic filters......
How Can i edit the pdf out so that i can see the same output in pdf what i am seeing in portal.

Hello,
The only way to export logos to PDF, as stated in note 1069368, is to have those in the Mime repository and use an export template with the layout you want. This is the solution here.
Well, the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) is not supported on export.
However, you can edit the export template.
Create a copy of 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN_EXPORT, (I suggest the technical name ZANALYSIS_PATTERN_EXPORT) and edit the copy. You can edit as you want.
However, to the copy works, you have to create a copy of 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN ( I suggest ZANALYSIS_PATTERN) and, on this copy, assign the ZANALYSIS_PATTERN_EXPORT to the default export template.
Go to transaction RSCUSTV27 ans assign the ZANALYSIS_PATTERN on "Ad Hoc Analysis" field.

I have a hard copy of a pdf that was probably made from many different pdfs (and or cut and paste from) and Word docs. On some of the pdf pages, the fonts have blank spaces between the letters of a word and sometimes two words without a space between them.
On some pages, this type of text and regular text are on the same page. In other pages, that probably came from the same source, all the text on all the pages is spaced irregularly.
What is the most probable cause of this and how do we fix it. One source of irrigular spacing docs are probably pdfs themselves. In the case where both irregular and regular text are on same page, I'm guessing it was a cut and paste job.
I suspect the text looks ok on the screen but cannot be sure since I don't have the electronic version. How do I tell them how to fix this?

PDF Printer prompting twice to printer to pdf printer

Have a user that when he tries to print to the pdf printer out of Access 2003, it prompts twice to save as. The first time looks like it tries to save as a .txt file then it goes through the process like it's going to print and then it asks again.

GD&T font symbols print out jibberish

I am using Acrobat 8 , when I print MS doc file with GD&T font symbols; the PDF prints out jibberish

Ok, unfortunately, since it isn't Distiller Server, it isn't for use on a server. Sorry not to have better news. Adobe's LiveCycle PDF Generator is their PDF creator licensed for server use.
Still may be worth understanding the problem as PDF Generator may have the same issue. Does the created PDF show gibberish? Are you embedding the font?

Freezing when trying to print out PDF?

Trying to print out PDF of Aperture 'book'. Each time it freezes on the same page ... this particular page is where I have one image stretched across two pages. Is this possibly a glitch with Aperture?

I've trashed my preferences several times; doesn't seem to help. I've also tried to use two copies of the same picture (right half on right page, left half on left page); but that doesn't work too well, as Aperture seems to want to favor one side or the other – and thus I can't adjust the two sides to match up properly.

I love the IDEA of the two page spread. Have longed for it in Pages, where I'm producing a whole series of books ... a lot of two page spreads (but done by using two versions of the same still).

Are you trying to Print to PDF or are you trying to Print a PDF file to a physical printer?

Printing out a report in PDF format

A colleague and myself have been converting an existing system for our customer from the traditional client/server architecture to a web-deployed system on 10g application server. I have been converting the reports from report 3.5 to reports 10g. The reports work fine but the problem we have is more to do with the printer than the reports itself.
We have a requirement to print a barcode label (and some other text) to a DataMax printer. This printer seems to be quite fussy about the fonts that are used and essentially if you don't use the DataMax fonts the label comes out blank. I have managed however to produce reports as PDF and if I click the Printer button in the adobe control the report will print out as a bitmap image on the printer.
Is there any way that I can produce the report as a PDF file and get it to print automatically ?

I have never been able to get PDF generation working from APEX. I have asked for some help on this forum, but go no responses. And I just won't spend the outrageous license fees for Oracle BI Publisher. But I have been successful in doing what need with some simple methods.
1. If the email has some simple tables or formatted information from the database, use a PL/SQL procedure to generate an HTML formatted message and the utl_mail package to send the html formatted email. I use this for many customer and internal emails from both APEX and Oracle Forms applications.
2 There is a stand-alone product PL/PDF (http://www.plpdf.com/) that allows you to generate PDF files directly from PL/SQL (again not APEX specific). I have demoed this product and it works pretty well, but I am not using it at this time because of the licensing that requires a fee for each database instance. It's not really that expensive, but it's more than I want to spend for the number of databases I have.
3. If you have Acrobat Professional, you can export XML file from the database and create "mail merge" type PDF documents. But you can also do this with Word and a simple CSV or Excel output. Both of these are pretty easy from APEX. I have used both. I found the Work mail merge to be a little easier for end users to use, so this is my primary choice. But Acrobat Pro method also works well.

I have Acrobat X Pro. I've created the above PDF that shows hyperlinks as a clickable "Read more about it...." link. A reader has asked for a PDF that she can print out, yet it would somehow show the actual URL address that the "Read more about it..." link goes to. Anyone know of a way I can provide her with this?
Also, I thought I had found a way of printing a PDF and Acrobat would "grab" the actual web pages I've hyperlinked to, but I can't find any such functionality. I'm beginning to think I dreamed it.

Took a look-see at the PDF. In all fairness it is the reader's responsibilty to create the PDFs for the web content at the "read more" link's end.
That content is not "yours" (you don't have the authoring files and don't deploy the web content).
The reader(s) who want PDF can use Acrobat to create PDF from the web pages.
Anyone with Acrobat Pro can use the application's "web capture" feature.
Takes time and doing it in your case is likely not what you get a paycheck for.
Time spent on it is time not spent on the job's "main thing" eh.
As well, other's web content Changes! Are you going to check the targets of the links every day, once a week, or .... how often? Changed content = new PDFs via web capture and distribution of same. How does that play to legalities?
All and all, it gets ugly fast.
But then it is your call eh.
