PDF watermark service

Dear All,
I have the following scenario:
1. I need to checkin a document to UCM
2. Post the checkin, i need to generate an image dynamically using my custom java code & checkin that image also to UCM as a new revision of content id say img_001.
3. Once the image has been checked in, i need to call the PDF watermark service to apply the static watermark to the main document using img_001.
The approach i m planning for this is, after main doc checkin to UCM, call the custom java program to generate the img & checkin the img as a new revision of img_001 to UCM from the same program. Within the same custom java code, call the pdf watermark service to apply the static watermark to the main document with the recently checked in version of img_001.
In order to implement this, i need to know how to call the pdf watermark service from custom java code e.g. name of the service, parameters to be passed etc.
Can anyone please help me with this issue? Also, if you have any alternative approaches to accomplish this scenario, please share your thoughts.

I had a similar problem. Instead of using PDF Watermark, I let the java program do all the logic. iText is already available in the standard installation, and it wasn't too hard to implement.

PDF Watermark - logo image is not displayed in ibr converted pdf

Hi
I have enabled pdf watermark administration and configured image watermark with rule, if the content type is document then the image watermark is to be applied but it is not displayed to the converted word document to pdf by IBR.
If i change image watermark layer to "over", then image watermark is displayed, but word are displayed under the logo image watermark, so it is difficult to study the document.
If the native file is pdf, then its image watermark is working fine.

I think this could be caused by the following :
Check the factor set for Transparency and if it is completely opaque (Transparency =0%) then the converted PDF's will not show watermarks which has Layer set to UNDER.
To get the watermarks displayed PPT's will need to be set to Transparency = 100% .
The intention of the UNDER watermarking layer is that it should appear"behind" whatever is in the content layer.If the content layer completely covers the page and is opaque, then nothing behind it will be visible,including watermarks.The only reasonable solution is to check the above mentioned value before submitting the PPT's for conversion so that users are aware of this behavior for PPT's
The above description if for PPT's where in this was found to be caused by the transparency factor of native PPT . If it is a word document then check for the same setting and set to 100% , then test .

Adding PDF watermark in Automator doesn't work in Lion?

Hi folks,
I am trying to create a function for adding watermarks to my invoices. I read different tutorials, but whatever I make, when it comes to adding the watermark background (Automator -> Workflow -> PDFs -> Watermark PDF document (not quite sure about the english name)) it doesn't add anything. I tried .jpg, .psd, .png, different image files and sizes. However I never get any file into my list.
Any hints?

Here's a workaround:
1. Create a workflow, including the "Watermark PDF Documents" action, save it as a workflow.
2. Show the contents of the saved workflow, find the file "document.wflow" inside the "Contents" folder, open it with a word processor, e.g TextEdit or BBEdit or Microsoft Word
3. Find the parameter block of the "Watermark PDF Documents" action, it should look like below:

IPM Electronic Signature/PDF Watermarking.

All,
I'm attempting to satisfy a requirement for Electronic Signature or PDF Watermarking for IPM.
I know these utilities are intended for use in UCM, however, I guess my real question is what options
are available to those folks who use IPM?
BTW, I did install and configure the UCM PDF Watermarking component, but cannot get any results to show up in either the
advanced or basic IPM Viewer.
Am I stuck using something like ITEXT on the LINUX side prior to ingestion of the PDF's into IPM?
I'm up for that - if it's really the only possibility. However, I was hoping to satisfy the requirement without a
customization like this.

The documen t was originally created with Word (*.doc) then printed to PDF format; now I need to convert back to Work, but I get the "Conversion Failure" error message, both on conversion back to *.Doc format and attempt to convert to *.docx format.

How large is the PDF that you're trying to convert? How did you generate the PDF from Word (did you use Acrobat, or Word's built-in PDF generator)? What version of Word are you using?
The answers to those questions should help us get to the bottom of things.
In the meantime, please try the following:
Clear the browser cache and log back in to https://cloud.acrobat.com.
Try a different web browser (see System Requirements | Adobe Acrobat Pro and Online Services for a list of supported browsers).
Try to convert a different file (if you can convert another file without error, the one you're receiving the error on may be damaged).

Watermark PDF Documents Service error

Hello,
I created a workflow application to watermark PDF's, and now I'm trying to create a service that does the same thing. The workflow works as an application, but the service is getting an error that reads: "The action “Move Finder Items” encountered an error." The service is included below. Please advise how to fix this, thanks!

Compress Images in PDF Documents (as jpeg)
Move Finder Items (to desktop, replacing existing files)
Rename PDF Documents (replace existing files)

Missing text in my PDF watermark. How do I fix?

I've created a PDF to be used as a watermark The PDF that I will use as a watermark looks fine. All the text is there. When I apply this PDF as a watermark, some of the text dissappears. I'm not sure what is going on.

You do not need to create PDF to be used as watermark.

Is there a way to consume REST based pdf web service in PeopleSoft

We have a requirement to consume an pdf REST based web service in PeopleSoft and display the pdf file on browser. I have configured the Service & Service Operation in PeopleSoft.
I have also confirmed the request is making to target server. Also when using curl, confirm the target web service is working and response seems to be binary bytes representing pdf file.
How can I consume this response from PeopleSoft message object. Tried using contentstring() and trying to do %response.write

If I had to copy pdf file, I normally would use something like

Integration Broker supports MTOM. You can find an example here: Sending and Receiving Binary Data.
The alternative is to use Java to make the HTTP request. You can use HttpClient, as Sasank mentioned, if you don't mind managing jar dependencies. The alternative is to use HttpUrlConnection directly. Not easy in PeopleCode, but possible. If you are on PeopleTools 8.53, then you can script it in JavaScript and run it on the server through the Rhino JavaScript script engine manager included with Java 7 and part of PeopleTools 8.53+. I find this MUCH easier because you don't have to deal with reflection.
Once you get the binary file, the next task is sending it to the client in binary format. %Response.WriteBinary works great, but requires you to start with binary data. I am only aware of one way to read binary data in PeopleCode that is suitable for %Response.WriteBinary and that is to select the binary data out of the database and into an Any variable. I have not figured out how to convert Java binary data into something suitable for PeopleCode's %Response.WriteBinary.

PDF WATERMARK NOT VISIBLE IN READER

HI Gurus,
I have created a simple script which reads a value from a form field and creates a watermark on pdf document.
I can view the watermark in Acrobat Pro 9 but unable to see the watermark when viewing through acroabt reader 9. Below is the script I am using. I have not set bOnScreen or bOnPrint and have left as default which I believe is true.

What does it say in the JavaScript console? Have you checked the documentation for addWaterMarkFromText (especially the quick bar) to see if it is supposed to work in Reader?

Feature of Generate PDF Output Service?

I noticed some useful tasks by the generatePDFOutput service, as its generates one or more PDF docs based on the supplied data file.
Is this possible to accomplish my requirements using this service?
I have form design with a table (which has 0 rows of data while designing)
Is it possible to fill this table based on the number of records provided?
For eg.g my data file looks like this:

You would accomplish that by creating a dynamic form with a flowable layout. When the server merges the data with the form, the rows in the table are added according to the number of records in the data. See this for an overview:

How To Remove PDF Watermark RE Trial Version?

Is there a way to get rid of the "Adobe ColdFusion Developer/Trial Version" watermark from the PDF files we create? I'm using the Developer edition but I still don't want to have documents come out with that on it. Do I need to tell it I know the enterprise trial time is done or something? Thank you!

Let's say I have a number of clients who have their own versions of ColdFusion, many because I recommended them. That's a lot of sales of ColdFusion that Adobe would not have made otherwise, all because of me.
No that's different, that's some kind of reseller/partner scheme. Yes I agree they could do something with that, but it involve them just giving you a licence or discount, not changing the way the Developer licence works.
Since I am a CF developer, I want to create a report for them, or an invoice, perhaps, or some other general reporting diagnostic from me, the developer, to my clients. ..I can get Adobe Pro for half that and do some kind of work-around by creating an RTF file, open in Word, save as PDF, and then email, but c'mon! We're developers! We automate!
Aha, but that's exactly the point! You, at that point, are not using CF and CFDOCUMENT as a developer; you're using it as an office worker to create PDF documents in order to save yourself time and money. You're no longer developing, you're using the product.
I know it's annoying, but it's an extremely powerful product. If all you want to do is knock up an invoice just use Word then something like PrimoPDF which is free.

Illustrator PDF watermark

I've a PDF file with watermark under it's content, this water mark is visible when I open the file with adobe reader,but when I opened this file in Illustrator, The watermark isn't displayed and isn't printed, any one know why??

The images behind the pink are actually embedded raster images. I don't know why they aren't present when just opening the PDF in AI. They are present if you burn the PDF (Export to EPS, then open the EPS in AI)
Never seen that type of construction. I'd be interested to know how it was pulled off or if it is just a glitch in the file.

Pdf watermark, positioning help

I've recently been playing around with the idea of automatically updating pdf's that are submitted to our website with our web address. Idealy the text would be a clickable link that is centered and positioned at the very top of the page (although im not quite sure if the clickable link part is even possible with cfpdf or itext). I've been able to add watermarks using both cfpdf and itext, but the watermarks always seem to be pushed down almost an inch from the top of the page and i need the watermark to be at the very top of the page so that it doesn't interfere with the other text (even though the watermark has an opacity of 85%). I'm looking for suggestions on how i can:
A. position the text/watermark at the very top of the page.
B. make the text a clickable link.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

It sounds like your positioning is off. Can you post the code you are using to position the watermark?
Regarding hyperlinks, you can use an Anchor object to add a hyperlink to an existing pdf.
