PDFMaker Supported in Firefox?
I use Firefox (v3.0.10) almost exclusively. I just upgraded to CS4 and notice that I do not have the opportunity to create PDFs from webpages without using the PDF print driver (where embedded links are not preserved).
Does anyone know whether the PDFMaker functions are supported in Firefox and if so, how can I install/activate them in Firefox?

Unfortunately the only browser that supports the PDFMaker macro is Internet Explorer at this point. But, you can always use the "Create PDF from Web Page" command in Acrobat to convert HTML to PDF.
For more information regarding the applications that support the PDFMaker macros check out Joel's blog entry titled "Version Compatibilty of Acrobat PDFMaker".

No matter which search plugin I choose to install from the list of FireFox search plugins on the Mozilla Add-ons website, I get the same error message - "This search engine isn't supported by FireFox and can't be installed". I tried deleting the 3 files in my profile identified in the article on troubleshooting plugins, but it didn't help. I am running Firefox with administrator privileges, but that doesn't help. The problem appears to be only with search plugins. I can install other extensions that are not search plugins from the Mozilla Add-ons site, but not search plugins. I tried restarting FireFox and rebooting the computer severaltimes, but I keep getting the same error message when I try to install a search plugin.
If you are creating your own search plugins, be aware that you will get this same error if the path to the XML in your action script must be an absolute URL, even if the XML file is in the same location as the page that is pointing to it.
IOW, this will never work:
* window.external.AddSearchProvider('MySearchDefinition.xml');
it must be:
* window.external.AddSearchProvider('http://mysite.example.com/.../MySearchDefinition.xml'); -

Compaq laptop with Windows 7 installed. My desktop PC uses Windows Vista SP2. I have the IMDB search engine add-on installed on my desktop, and it works perfectly. When I attempt to install the add-on to my laptop, I get an error stating that "this add-on isn't supported by Firefox and can't be installed". I'm interested in the second one on the page, IMDB by clouserw.
See if anything in this MozillaZine support thread helps you: <br />

Hi
I have downloaded the latest version of Firefox 3.6.13 from the mozilla website, (I definatly dont have firefox 4 beta). When I try to add any new search add-ons such as Bing, Youtube, IMDB I awlays get the same message "This search engine isnt supported by firefox and cant be installed".
I have uninstalled and re-installed firefox same problem persists, I even re-installed my OS as I needed to do it anyway and same problem.I have found a fix for myself, but i still would like to know what caused the problem.
If i get the error message, all i have to do is go to the address bar and type in random letters, then when i click install, they install and no more error message.
anyone able to explain please? -

I use Firefox on my desktop and love it. Would love to have it on my smartphone Samsung Galaxy Music Duos S6012. However my smartphone is not supported by firefox. Any changes of it being supported in near future ?
Thanks and Regards
ShriramThanks Aron for the reply...
From my smartphone, when I visit google play and search for firefox, both firefox as well as firefox beta are not visible... When I search on my desktop both are visible but saying my device is not supported...
I installed the OpenGL-ES Info app. But when I run it on my device, I just get blank screen with name of the application (OpenGL-ES Info) on top...
No info about OpenGL is displayed... My smartphone has got Ice-cream sandwitch 4.0.4 and it is upgradable to Jelly Bean 4.1
I than installed OpenGLES Extensions Viewer app from google play which displayed the OpenGL details.. Below are the details :
Android Version: 4.0.4
samsung rhea(ARMv7 Processor rev9(v7I)
1 CPU(s)
Resolution: 240x320
Screen Size: LARGE SMALL
Version : OpenGL ES 2.0

EGL Vendor: Android
EGL Version: 1.4 Android META-EGL

Max. vertex texture image units: 8

Max. vertex uniform vectors: 256
Max. fragment uniform vectors: 256
Num. compressed texture formats:11

Looks like my smartphone has got OpenGL ES 2.0 from the above output... Why firefox is not supported in that case ?
Is that anything to do with Shading Language: OpenGL ES GLSL ES 1.00 ???
Thanks & Regards

Does EBook-EB720 support a Firefox browser?
purchased the above ebook reader. want to read some items with a browser. Looking through Mozilla I cannot see that there is a browser for the above. Is there?
Hi jules3677,
I can't seem to find any information about the software that runs on the ebook reader. Is it android?
There is a list of devices supported by firefox for mobile [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/platforms/ here]. The EB720 is not on it. Firefox for mobile may also work on other android devices (2.1 and above).
If the software on the reader is not android then I am afraid the answer is No.
I hope that helps.

Support for Firefox 3.5
This is my first post. So first of all let me say this; great work on Buzzword so far!
I recently upgraded Firefox to 3.5. Unfortunally Buzzword doesn't officially support this version yet. However Buzzword does work. So far only copy/pasting isn't working. So right now I'm switching between Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox just to copy/paste.
Any update on when Firefox 3.5 will be supported?Firefox 3.5 support is in the works. I know what you're going through: am stuck with IE8 until everything's fixed.
Rest assured: a fix is on the way. More info here:

Is Tab group sync supported in Firefox version 17.0.1?
I just tried to sync tabs from a desktop pc with Vista-32bit running Firefox version 16 to a 2nd pc with Windows 7-64 bit running Firefox version 17.0.1. It seemed to work ok, except the tab groups from the origin pc never showed up. I had already transferred the bookmarks before trying the sync procedure and I had a few tabs open, but all the sync messages appeared correct.
Is Tab group sync supported in Firefox version 17.0.1?Hi there. Tab groups are never synced as far as I can tell. But you you can show tabs from other computers in your "history" menu.

The detail is in the question
FF update to 13 and now you can't open ? sorry about that.
1. Download (with your safari) a copy of 3.6.28 from
http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older
2. '''Trash''' the current Firefox application to do a clean install.
3. Install the version that you have downloaded (3.6.28).
Do not select to remove your personal data, your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data.

Why no email addy for firefox, and why no support for firefox
moving shortly to chrome or any browser that does have an email addy and does support its product. since the latest update firefox comes up with "not responding" after every page or click on screen, however as their is no email to write to in order to find out whats gone wrong, then it shows that firefox have no confidence in their own product as they refuse to respond or have a contact us email addy. mind you its nice to know that this has happened before firefox 4 appeared as that will be even more hopeless if the latest update is anything to go by. should think that ie will be overjoyed at the large numbers coming back to them due to firefox's untested updates that kill firefox.

YouTube on TV - Device not supported error-Firefox Windows 7/8.1
On Windows 7 and 8.1 Chrome and Internet Explorer opens https://www.youtube.com/tv without issue. Using Firefox i get an error stating that YouTube on TV is not supported by this device.
Any ideas?
ThanksThis looks like a problem with some Firefox releases.
The site works with the current 34 Beta and the current Nightly 36 build, but not in the Firefox 33 release and in the current Aurora 35 build.
I don't know what goes wrong as there are no error messages in the browser console and the HTTP request/response headers also do not seem to be given a clue. -
Please tell me what version of Firefox my computer is compatible with.
Firefox 3.6 is still supported at present see: http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all-older.html
