Per Yahoo, I have a cookie problem. Yahoo won't keep me logged in using Firefox 4.0.1

Is there a Firefox 4.0.1 user who is also a Yahoo user who has figured out how to stay logged into Yahoo?
According to other things I've seen on Firefox, my cookies are set correctly, and I'm allowing passwords to be saved on all sites with NO exceptions, but when I leave Yahoo, or simply brows in Yahoo, suddenly I have to log in again.

  • None of any of the pictures on Facebook can be opened and seen on the website, I have absolutely no problem on Safari, but I would much rather use Firefox..What the heck is going on????

About a week ago, I had no problem clicking on pictures to open them to bigger size.....As of about 4 days ago - If I try to open a picture on Facebook, it shows the comments but no picture..I don't know what is going on!!! It works fine on Safari, but I would much rather use Mozilla for my own selfish reasons, WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON????? ( I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING!!!!!)

I agree the phones are supposed to come with the battery and battery door missing that is policy of every wireless company. The problem is that the rep that you spoke with wasn't being as thorough as they could have been to ensure that you got complete equipment, is was a processing error from the first representative. Most of the information for exchanging a phone is auto completed by the computers as well so when the rep processes the exchange they don't have any say so as to what is actually in the shipping box so being that you didn't activate the droid 3 on your account when you called in about the missing battery and complained the computer only recognized the droid x because that probably what you had activated on your account, so that's why the second replacement was droid x equipment and not droid 3

  • Am using Safari 6.0.5, suddenly my Yahoo mail account won't keep me logged in and the 'keep me logged in' button has disappeared. It is still there on Chrome so am assuming it is a Safari issue. It just happened suddenly. Have reset Safari.

Am using Safari 6.0.5, suddenly my Yahoo mail account won't keep me logged in and the 'keep me logged in' button has disappeared. It is still there on Chrome so am assuming it is a Safari issue. It just happened suddenly. Have reset Safari, cache and also changed my Yahoo password but problem is still there.

I still don't understand what the problem that you are experiencing is. If you get to a page where yahoo is asking JUST for your password, and there is no box for username (it may have your username displayed, but not in a enter box), then you ARE "being kept signed in"  You can verify this by instead of entering your password, go to www.yahoo.com home page, and it will say something like "Hi, Amber"   This means you ARE signed in.
When you get that page asking for just your password, you are NOT being asked to sign in again. You are simply being asked to verify/enter your assword an Nth time. If you get that page right after entering your username and password, try clicking the "back" (previous page) button. It might just go to your inbox.
If this is the case, your problem has nothing to do with being kept signed in or not, the problem is that for some (unknown to me) reason, yahoo is asking you to re-enter your password, kind of like when your mac asks for your mac password when changing system settings. Yahoo does this as a safety feature when you go to account settings, and apparently abritary other times. I wish I understood just why I get it every time after signing in.
It could be because I have java turned off. It could be because I don't accept third party cookies. Maybe a cache file. Or a hundred other things... I don't know. It could simply be yahoo is scrooing safari users. I have glanced at the html, but to really understand it, it would take me days. There are over 25 places where username and password are in the html "source" code of the yahoo login page, and even understanding that may not tell me. In the past, I have seen code essentiall saying "if IE x.3.2" do this, if chrome do that, if mozilla do something else, otherwise make it next to impossible...."
My problem is not only I get asked for my assword a second time, but also (and only very recently) I do not get a prompt to save username and pasword. I have gone to yahoo help pages to try to figure it out, and I feel like I just run in circles. If one wants to send a question in, they have to answer half a dozen questions disclosing private information. And I pay yahoo $20/year. grrr
If when you are trying to access your yahoo mail and you are being asked to enter both your username and password, but didn't sign out of yahoo, then indeed your are not being "kept signed in"

A few people have reported problems with the hand gestures since IOS 8. It's not normal, I have don't have the problem on my iPad 4.  I doubt it's a major problem but if it happens regularly I'd have it checked out by the Genius bar at the Apple Store.

  • I have to turn off Visualization in ZoneAlarm Extreme in order to use Firefox v10.0.2....leaving me open to silent drive-by Web attacks reaching my computer

I have to turn off Visualization in ZoneAlarm Extreme in order to use Firefox v10.0.2....leaving me open to silent drive-by Web attacks reaching my computer

That would at least partially explain it.
These MacBook Pros drew more power than the power brick could readily supply, and so would only run at top speed when the power brick was supplemented by the battery.
Though the applicable tech note has been removed, it stated:
"If the battery is removed from a MacBook or MacBook Pro, the computer will automatically reduce the processor speed. This prevents the computer from shutting down if it demands more power than the A/C adapter alone can provide."

  • On Yahoo Groups, Internet Explorer show a clipboard function for posting photos. When using Firefox the clipboard doesn't show up, so you can't post photos.

On Yahoo Groups, using Internet Explorer, one can use a clipboard function to post photos to messages. When using Firefox, the clipboard doesn't appear and you cannot post photos on group messages.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Windows Accessibility settings.

  • I have a cookies problem!

I have enabled my cookies correctly and gone through all the troubleshooting guides, but cookies are still not working properly and many websites are not working, saying I need to enable cookies. Some websites will not even allow me to log in. I'm stuck and unable to even use many websites. Please help I have of course gone through all the Internet options, have deleted history, cache, cookies. I've even tried to manually delete the files. I've also gone through and deleted text files in case one of those files was corrupt and causing cookies not to work properly. I've done the same with private as well. I've checked my firewall settings to make sure that wasn't a problem.

I was having this same issue. I followed the steps on this page , and it is working for me now. Hope it helps!

  • Google on firefox thinks i have a cookie problem & won't start gmail; IE has no problem with this; I have followed firefox google help instructions, no good

I can't start gmail in firefox - told that my browser cookie settings are off-kilter. All other browsing works. I can use gmail in Internet Explorer but all my settings are in firefox. I don't want to clear all cookies & history. What to do?

you can also selectively clear the history for google.com - refer to [[Websites say cookies are blocked]]
also make sure that google has permissions to set cookies in your firefox and you use no 3rd party extensions that might override this behaviour.
when on a google, right-click on the page and then go to "view page info" & "permissions" tab. in there make sure that cookies are allowed at least for the current session.

  • Using firefox on a computer with both winXP and Ubuntu, having the Firefox profile-map in a separate partition, I would like not to have to delete the "parent lock" each time I want to use Firefox.

I have Firefox in the Windowspartition of my computer and in the Linuxpartition of my computer, I have a third partition where I store my personal data, such as my Firefox-profile-map and my download-map.
If I don't manually delete "Parent Lock" Firefox won't start saying that there is already a session open.
It would be better not to have this parentlock-system.

It would be better to use two separate profiles for each Operating System and sync the data between the two as there may be other problems as well with the caches that current Firefox versions use and other files that store OS dependent file paths.

  • I have flashplayer which works in Internet Explorer but not some sites using Firefox. I refreshed but no change and i DID lose all my bookmarks. Help!

Listening to BBC Radio was possible until today but now in Firefox I'm told to install Flashplayer. i have tried that 3 times but with no effect. The same with videos on BBC and some other sites but on others it works. If I use Internet Explorer everything is fine. So there is clearly an interface problem with Firefox which has only just started. I tried refreshing believing that it would retain all my favourites and other information/settings but most were lost. I'm 73 not technical so a simple solution if possible please.

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; '''Old Firefox?'''
These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.
These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox
    '''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/febe/ FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension)]''' {web link}
FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your
Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more.
In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild
your saved files individually into installable .xpi files.
It will also make backup of files that you choose.

  • I have a Samsung wireless printer. For some reason, my computer uses Firefox to connect wirelessly to this printer. Since the last update, I can't print to my Samsung wireless printer. Why?

Firefox tries to access the local address of the printer and then comes back with an error message that it is unable to locate it.

As you can see here, Mountain Lion does not directly support that model of printer:

  • Why does Firefox have a constant problem finding servers?

Firefox is constantly unable to find servers, even after succesfully loading a web page. When I hit reload it scampers off and finds the server immediately (most of the time -- occasionally I have to punch it twice), but if I leave the tab open, sure as death and taxes, the message will reappear after a while. It doesn't matter what website I am on. Also, I have recently lost the ability to right click on a blank spot on a page and select "reload every ____", where I could select from a variety of time intervals for the page to reload automatically. Before this feature quit, when I had it enabled there seemed to be fewer "can't find server" episodes, but perhaps it was just that the reload would hit every once in a while and the server would miraculously appear.
I would dearly love to fix this. It has not happened in previous versions of Firefox. (I assume I have the latest version, because it updates automatically.) I don't like IE and Chrome is so cheerfully nosy that I rarely use it.
I have talked to others who have had this problem to the extent that they don’t use Firefox anymore. I have used it practically since the begats and I don’t want to jump ship. Please help.

Note that Firefox uses the "chrome://" protocol to access its own internal files and also access files from extensions, so that has nothing to do with Google Chrome.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
