Permission issue with changelog in OID

Hello,
I configured LDAP sync and the OID account got created fine when the user is created in OIM (first user).  Then, for the second user, it no longer works and the log file shows this error.
[2013-11-18T15:50:10.815-07:00] [oim_server1] [ERROR] [] [oracle.iam.platform.entitymgr.provider.ldap] [tid: OIMQuartzScheduler_Worker-8] [userId: oiminternal] [ecid: 0000K9hBgfhFW715zvT4iW1IYcfJ000002,1:23495] [APP: oim#11.1.2.0.0] An error occurred while getting the change log from LDAP - {0}[[

Although the log shows the user as oiminternal, I don't believe OID uses this user.  But I think it uses orcladmin.  How can I fix this problem?
Thanks
Khanh

No, I don't use OVD.
I added the oimAdminuser through the below ldap script.  However, when I ran ACI with the command:
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/ldapsearch -h pioneer -p 389 -D "cn=orcladmin" -w  MYPASSWORD -b "dc=cde,dc=state,dc=co,dc=us" -s one "objectclass=*" orclaci
I don't see the permission for oimAdminUser (I searched for the string oim and the only one I found is oimReservce).  What did I do wrong?
Thanks

  • Permission Issue with Adobe Bridge

    Hello Support,
We are an all mac environment, and we are trying to import and export templates of metadata from Adobe Bridge. The files we are accessing are on a file server on our network. When making changes to metadata using Adobe Bridge we are getting permission denied. The permissions are fine, as we can add, delete, and modify files in the same server directories using finder or other applications. This has happened in the past and the resolution was to create a a whole new profile on the local mac.The new profile then had no issues with importing and exporting metadata. However, this is now the third time we have had to create a new profile on the local mac to resolve this permission issue within Adboe Bridge. We are running Adobe Bridge CS5 version 4.0.0.5.2.9. We are wondering if there is a permanent solution to this, seeing as we do not want to have to re-create a new profile every 3-4 months. Could there be a setting in Adobe that we need to edit or anything else that would avoid us having to re-create the profile? Thanks in advance for all advice to this issue.

any help at all would be gladly appreciated. Also, is there a phone number or chat support with Adobe support that anyone can provide?

  • Permission issues with files put on desktop by Vista

    Hi Folks,
I posted this before and got no response so I'm trying again.
Trying to finally solve an issue that has dogged me ever since upgrading to Lion in the summer. Since installing Lion 10.7 (clean install), I now seem to be having File Sharing issues with a fellow colleague who is on Vista. When trying to open a file placed on my desktop by this user (who has been set up as a "real" network user in Sys Prefs) I get the following message:
"You do not have permission to open the document "Some_Image.jpg".
Contact your computer or network administrator for assistance.
I have to do the following In order to gain access:
    1. Unlock small lock icon in bottom right of Get Info Window
    2. Enter Password in dialog that says "Finder wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this."
    3. Click the now enabled plus sign below list
    4. Select my self from the list of users
    5. Change privilege to "Read & Write" in Privilege column adjacent to my user name.
Both Vista Machines do this to me although Windows 7 does not. UPDATE: one user has updated his vista install to WIndows 7 and I have this problem again.
I had hoped that the 10.7.3 update would have fixed this problem for me as I read that the update addresses some Networking issues, but it hasn't.
    Any thoughts here?
    Thank you,
    J.E. Flynn

Oddly enough, I can't even seem to provide "Write Only (Drop Box)" access to the Windows clients.
My limited understanding of Widows networking and sharing is starting to rear it's ugly head.
If I set up File Sharing and give the windows client access to a shared folder. It can copy files but still I do not have access to those (as described above).
The only way I can get a Windows machine to access my Mac is for them to type my computers local IP in the Explorer address bar " \\192.168.1.XX " and login as me. Obviously, this is not desirable
All other attempts to login from a Windows client are now failing.

  • Permission issue with external hard drive

    Hi,
I have an external hard drive that has a bunch of video and audio files on it. Any time I try to open any file from the drive, regardless of file type, the application it's supposed to open it says it can open. Most of the people I have talked to have said that it's a permission issue and have not had a solution for this. Looking for any suggestions on how to repair these permissions. Disk utility has been no help and when running recovery software like Data Rescue the files come out in the end with the same issues.
    Thanks.

Drive was shot and could not rescue the information

  • SL Server Permission Issues with Windows XP Clients

I'm running into some permissions issues with Snow Leopard Server. I know it's specific to SL Server because I have two Leopard servers and neither one is affected. All servers are set up the same way.
I'm using this SL server as a file server in the golden triangle approach: AD for Users, OD for Groups that supply AD User membership. I have one volume per OD group, and that group has read/write privileges to that volume via the default Server Admin read/write ACL. POSIX permissions are 770 on the top level directory, and ownership is set to the AD user who owns the volume, and the OD group the volume belongs to.
The client is XP SP3. When the client accesses a share on the SL server, their access is correctly granted and they can browse the share and read any files inside the share. They can copy files to the share from wherever. They can open, edit, and save files. However, they cannot rename or delete files within the share. They cannot rename folders, but can delete them. This affects all AD users regardless of the OD group they're in.
I have a few Windows 7 and Vista clients on the network, and these two OS's are not affected by this so the problem is limited to XP. If I create a user in OD, and auth to the sever from the XP client as that user, the problem goes away, so it's something to do with AD and SMB.
I do have a ticket in with Apple support, which was escalated to Engineering. Still waiting on that.
Things I have tried that have not worked/helped:
-Modify the ACL to Full Privileges
-Tried removing/re-adding user to OD group.
    -Remove darwin_streams from vfs_objects in smb.conf
    stream support = no
ea support = yes/no (tried both ways)
    darwin_streams:brlm = no
-Added nt acl support = no to smb.conf
    per http://bit.ly/6aYycW
    -Animal sacrifice..... ??
    Help?

I need to do more testing, but I think the fix is to add "acl check permissions = no" to the bottom of /etc/smb.conf:
; Site-specific parameters can be added below this comment.
    [global]
    acl check permissions = no

    Hello John,
It seems to be a permission issue. Just open the permission editor of the system and assign the everyone group to it. Select the checkbox corresponding to end-user. save it.
    It will solve ur problem.
    Regards
    Deb

  • Permission issue with pm-suspend

I'm running gnome and I would like to have the suspend option in the shutdown menu as a regular usar.  Suspend works via pm-suspend, but its annoying to have to go through a terminal to put the laptop to sleep.
I checked the "can suspend" box in gconf editor, but I still don't have the option in gnome.  I think its a permission issue, I'm just not sure how to fix it.  I added the the regular user to the power group and I followed the pm-utils guide in the wiki.  Has dealt and/or solved this issue?

    try this:
    http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 06#p458906
or install hal from testing, those values should be default now.

  • MAC (10.6.8) users having permission issues with windows 2003 AD and NetApp SAN environment.

I have created a cifs share that is being accessed by Mac users that are part of a windows 2003 AD.  When the user edit data and save it back to the share, the security permission are reset and none of the other users can see the new data unless the permissions are refreshed on the windows server. This is a 'known problem' as discussed on the MacWindows site, see http://www.macwindows.com/More-on-OS-X-conflicts-with-Windows-Server-Deduplicati on.html
It appears to still affect Mavericks 10.9.5 at least from the lack of any positive reports to the contrary. It is perhaps a bit late but it would have been worth signing up for the public beta of Yosemite and testing that and if needed reporting it as an issue for Yosemite as this will be getting more bug fix attention than Mavericks now.
I would agree turning off de-duplication is not a desirable solution, however other possibilities to consider are installing the standard Samba software on a Mac and using that instead of Apple's SMBx software. This is done by using the SMBup installer See http://eduo.info/2013/07/13/smbup-faq it does not officially list Mavericks but I did see at least one report that it still worked. A second possibility is to install ExtremeZ-IP which installs an AFP server on to your Windows Server and also gives the bonus of supporting Spotlight searches.
Note: You should only try SMBup on a test setup first.

  • ITunes 10.5: Permission issue with the iTunes Library file...

Ok all, I have a strange and potentially problematic issue.
Background: Recently upgraded to thee latest 10.5 iTunes along with OSX 10.7.2 and iOS 5 on my iPhone.  My iTunes library is large - almost 300,000 songs, but have not had any issues until after the upgrade - except for the sluggishness of the progam (which apprears to be normal once you reach a certain point) as well as limitations with Genuis which I've not been able to resolve in any version.  I also have a fairly elaborate Playlist setup which I've refined over the past couple of years.  My iTunes library resides lookly in the default location under Music and the Media Folder sits on 3TB external.  Note that everything has worked fine up until now...
Anyway, this is just a quick background - and also to set the stage for any suggestions that might involve a 'random' rebuild of the iTunes library as it would involve a massive effort.
Problem:  Very intermittantly while playing music I will get an error pop up "Itunes library cannot be saved. A folder was specified instead of a file".  Otherwise everything appears working - playcounts are updated and reflected in my SmartPlaylist while I pay, lyrics seem to be added as I play (via TuneText), etc - and all syncs fine with the iPhone.
Now if I shut down iTunes when this happens and try and reopen, I will get the error "The iTunes Application cannot be opened, an unknown error occured (13014)."  Now if I look at the permissions of the iTunes Library database it shows "You have unknown access".   Note the permissions of all other files are ok.
In the past to correct this I've pulled back an earlier version of the Library from my Time Machine which of course is not ideal. I've also set up a parallel library about a year ago which can open fine (I use this other one to stage the music before importing into my main one in that the main is too slow to edit anything major).
So far I've tried Repairing Permissions and reinstalling the iTunes.app but the intermittant problem is not resolved.

****...After days of new issues, the problem returned again this morning!! Both the iTunes Library and iTunes Library.itl showing with unknown permissions.
To answer your question whop, yes when I rebuilt my entire library, I started afresh and rebuilt my .itl file with all the playlists, etc.
What is interesting with the problem I just noted now while writing this entry here, repaired permissions with Disk Utility and it corrected the unknown permission error.  I cannot see anything in the report though (below) that ties to these specifically being repaired.

  • Permission issues with new hard drive

Apple installed a new hard drive on my fairly new (june2012) MBP. The only backup I had was the time machine backup from the old MBP that I originally migrated from. Apple said no worries - I can restore from that so I did.
Today I bought an iphone. (I was a hold out, I'm all things mac since the 80s except the phone). I went in to clean up my Contacts before syncing the new phone to my MBP and I couldn't delete and contacts or groups. So I did a "get info" on my contacts ap and it didn't even have (user/me) on the list as a user. I added myself, gave me the read and write" capability and still can't make the needed changes, deletions or anything in Contacts, so I decided to check permissions using Disk Utility. I repaired permissions, and just to be sure verified permissions again. What a lllloooonnnggg list of issues and nothing has changed. Hit "repair permisions again and it is taking f o r e v e r. Now I am Verifying Disk to see what it says. No problem. Verify Permissions again - did it faster, but still a bunch of problems found. Repaired permissions again - same old thing - says its repairing, but I seriously doubt it. Am I supposed to do this over and over again?
    Suggestions???

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Mavericks permission issues with Windows Server deduplicated shares.

We have a number of 10.9-10.9.3 - Mavericks - machines installed throughout our facility. Much of the user content is pulled from shares stored on our Windows Server 2012 fileservers with deduplication enabled. I have found that files newly written or unoptimized are able to be accessed without issue - read, written, modified, etc. Once the file gets optomized/deduplicated and Windows adds the P & L attributes - sparse and symlink - the Macs running Mavericks begin to have access issues.
Once the files get deduplicated, users begin receiving read access errors when copying files (see error1 below). This happens when copying to folders within the current folder tree or copying somewhere to the local system. If you 'stop' the copy operation and retry a few more times, it may eventually work for the specific instance but fail again later. I am however, able to copy these files without issue via the terminal.
Other systems running 10.7 do not experience the same issues and are able to access file server resources without issue. Many of the systems having issues are newer and thus not able to be downgraded to 10.8 or 10.7.
I have tried finder replacements such as Pathfinder but the results are the same. I know this is at least similar to the issues many Mac users are already experiencing and posting about but I haven't seen it directly linked to deduplication and the attributes written by Windows server. Has anyone seen this issue? Have any solutions been found?
    Error 1:
When copying files after the PL attributes have been set by deduplication.
"One or more items can't be copied to "Foler" because you don't have permissions to read them.
Via the system.log, I am also seeing the following error when accessing these deduplicated file shares. The reparse point tag listed below is "IO_REPARSE_TAG_DEDUP"
    Reported error:
    "smbfs_nget: filename.ext - unknown reparse point tag 0x80000013"

  • ASE157 - Permission issue with BCP out under Solaris

With ASE15.7 SP60 on Solaris10 u11, when data is bulk copied out using Sybase’s bcp utility, the output file generated is having permissions Read/Write for the owner and Read for the group and no permissions for others even if the umask specifies different permissions.
    sybase15@server:/sybdata2/backup
    !> umask
    0022
If I try to create a file, I get the expected file permissions:
    sybase15@server:/sybdata2/backup
    !> touch test
    sybase15@server:/sybdata2/backup
    !> ls -l test
    -rw-r--r--   1 sybase15 sybase         0 Mar 21 16:59 test
    But bcpout grant different permissions:
    sybase15@server:/sybdata2/backup
    !> bcp db..table out /sybdata2/backup/table.bcp -Sservername -Uuser -Pxxx -c -t'(¨)' -r'(¯)\n'
    Starting copy...
    27 rows copied.
Clock Time (ms.): total = 16 Avg = 0 (1687.50 rows per sec.)
    sybase15@server:/sybdata2/backup
    !> ls -l
    -rw-r----- 1 sybase15 sybase 3150 Mar 21 16:42 table.bcp
    Any idea?

This was a deliberate change made under CR  683458 in BCP version 15.7 ESD 4, to adopt SAP's more stringent "secure by default" policy.
A new feature has been developed that gives bcp a --filemode option that can be used to specify a less restrictive permission setting.  This new feature becomes available in the connectivity 15.7 SP120 and 16.0 GA C1 releases.

  • Synchronize/Permission Issues With Pacman-Solved

    Hi Friends,
I just re-installed Arch (base only) and wanted to get gui. So, I edited pacman.conf and included a directory in "custom" where many packages are saved. I had logged in as root.
Now, when I do "pacman -Syu" I get:
    :: Synchronizing package databases...
:: current is up to date
:: extra is up to date
:: unstable is up to date
:: community is up to date
    failed copying /home/pacman/custom.db.tar.gz
    failed to synchronize custom
    error: /var/lib/pacman/extra/cl-sdraw-1.0.0-1/desc: Permission denied
    db_read: error: /var/lib/pacman/community/perl-net-ipv6addr-0.2-2/depends: Permission denied
error: could not open sync database: custom
           have you used --refresh yet?
Again, on doing "pacman -S xfce4" I get
    error: /var/lib/pacman/extra/cl-sdraw-1.0.0-1/desc: Permission denied
    db_read: error: /var/lib/pacman/community/perl-net-ipv6addr-0.2-2/depends: Permission denied
error: could not open sync database: custom
           have you used --refresh yet?
Then I edited pacman.conf and commented out custom and then did "pacman -Syu" and got
    :: Synchronizing package databases...
:: current is up to date
:: extra is up to date
:: unstable is up to date
:: community is up to date
    error: /var/lib/pacman/extra/cl-sdraw-1.0.0-1/desc: Permission denied

    Total Package Size:   110.4 MB

So, after excluding "custom," pacman is working but still giving "permission denied" error at the begining.
Now, when I do "pacman -S kde" I get
    error: /var/lib/pacman/extra/cl-sdraw-1.0.0-1/desc: Permission denied
    db_read: error: /var/lib/pacman/community/perl-net-ipv6addr-0.2-2/depends: Permission denied
    error: /var/lib/pacman/extra/cl-sdraw-1.0.0-1/desc: Permission denied
    db_read: error: /var/lib/pacman/community/perl-net-ipv6addr-0.2-2/depends: Permission denied
    error: /var/lib/pacman/extra/cl-sdraw-1.0.0-1/desc: Permission denied
kde: not found in sync db
So, it seems pacman has problems installing packages which are not currently installed, like xfce4 or kde. With the packages currently installed, it behaves properly as when I did "pacman -S wget" which is already installed, it gave me as
    error: /var/lib/pacman/extra/cl-sdraw-1.0.0-1/desc: Permission denied
    db_read: error: /var/lib/pacman/community/perl-net-ipv6addr-0.2-2/depends: Permission denied
    Targets: wget-1.10.2-2
    Total Package Size:   0.5 MB
    Proceed with upgrade? [Y/n] n
Hence, I'm unable to install any single packages and also could not understand that "permission denied" error. Also, I am unable to delete /var/lib/pacman/current, extra, etc., or change their permission using chmod 751. Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

Try to just fsck the partitions, don't mount them.  Certainly doesn't sound good though.

  • Permission issue with moving files for windows

We run Quickbooks Enterprise on Macs. Parallels / Window 7 on iMacs for the client and data is on a Mac Pro. I am trying to move the data to an xserve, but the permissions get modified and quickbooks does not work, it gives me a -6000, -83 error.
The permissions on the Pro have "nobody Read & Write" and after the move to the Xserve they become "ghoberg Read & Write". I tried the following methods to move the data and all of them had the same results:
    1) Copy;
    2) ditto /Volumes/ghoberg/QuickBooks /Shared\ Points/Windows/Quickbooks
    3) ditto -rsrcFork /Volumes/ghoberg/QuickBooks /Shared\ Points/Windows/Quickbooks
    4) ditto /Volumes/ghoberg/QuickBooks /Users/graysonh/Documents/test
Any advise on coping the data over and keeping all the same permissions, etc?
Any other thoughts on moving Quickbooks over to the the xserve?
I can't get support from Quicken, because this is a windows software. We have been running windows quicken on macs for 4 or 5 years
    Thank you
