Command executed successfully.But when i insert records in this table it is accepting.
What is the problem.
Any body help me.

What is the problem.No problems. The owner of the table can do everything on the table, you don't need to grant any privilege...

Could not read definitions; no read definitions permission for table
We have a hand punch (time clock) that is maintained in Access. This is a 3rd party product, I believe I'm having a permissions problem but the vendor says we should be able to read the data as a guest account. I select the database push the >> arrow and on all but two tables I get:
Database Connector Error: DAO Error Code: 0xc26
Source: DAO.Fields
Description Could not read definitions; no read definitions permission for table or query 'AbsenseT'
(Table name changes with each table of course.)
After clicking through 30 some tables two of them are selected. I can browse them etc.
Vendor has pushed out of his court saying its a Crystal problem but I believe its a permission problem especially since I can access those 2 tables but I need someone to confirm that for me or just tell me I'm wrong thats OK too. Any help as to why this is happening would be appreciated.
Thanks,
RandyHi Randy,
I believe CR will log in as Admin for the top level but we don't support the second level of security. As you can see we only one one level of prompt.
ODBC may be a work around for you...
Thank you

NorthWinds DB-Can't set READ DATA/READ DESIGN permissions for MSysObjects
I tried to set READ DATA and READ DESIGN for object MSysObjects as stated in the tutorial for Migrating Northwind Access DB but I get a "You can't change permissions for 'MSysObjects'". The error message says that to change permissions for this object, I must have Administer permission for it. How do I get permissions? Can someone please help.
Hi Robert,
Apologies for the delay in responding, but I see you've since found a workaround yourself, which is great.
As a minimum we recommend that a user applies the read data/read design permissions, but users with "Update Data" have sufficient permissions in order to create a connection to the MS Access MDB file via Oracle SQL Developer. Generally, once you're in the Admins group, there should be no issues setting the required permissions of the MSys~ tables. However, I have known MS Access to be a little temperamental when it comes to allowing for permissions settings on these tables. If necessary, go to the "Change Owner" tab of the "User and Group Permissions" dialog, and set the New Owner of the table in question to Admin.

SAP J2EE Engine JTA Transaction Xml for table TABLE could not be ana
I'm having a weird case. I created 3 entity bean. In my R/3 will call this JCO.Function to do the insert to database. But out of 3 entity bean, only 1 entity bean got error where it unable to insert to database and have this error in the log.
The case is quite weird where i created the same entity but only 1 entity is not working as expected. Wondering what cause this problem.
Thanks.

... 16 moreHi Stefan and Everyone,
I have solved my problem. Just want to let everyone know if u have to install the SP's for WEB AS 6.30/6.40.
You start from the installation from CD 6.30/6.40. Everything will be working at this point. You can login to Visual Admin, Config tool and SDM.
Before you apply any SP's, do the following:
a) Create an emergency user with the Administrator rights: Ref OSS Note:669848
Try to follow this route for SP's:
From CD 6.30/6.40 -> SP04 -> SP07
Apply SP04 first before applying SP07 (Recommended Approach).
Refer the installation guide: SAP Web AS Support Package Guide 630SP2 to 640SP4.
Use JDK1.4.2_05 to install SP04. You must reference the following OSS Notes and apply to your system accordingly, this is the key to an error free installation:
a) OSS Note: 697535
b) OSS Note: 709140
c) OSS Note: 716604
d) OSS Note: 706378
You have to be really careful with SP04 installation, because it changes the version from 6.30 -> 6.40.
Once you are able to install SP04 without any problems, you can directly apply SP07 or the highest 6.40 SP.
Kind Regards,

Unique permissions for Toplevel teamsite and NewForm.aspx?
Perhapse I dont know how to seach for this but I cant manage to find anything in the forums here that addreses this specifically. If I am in error concerning that PLEASE point me in the right direction, otherwise this is my issue:
I have created a form based on a list I have created for capturing "engagements" (new task requests for a team within my department). The goal of this form is to help us make record of (and track) tasks from other departments we get
in hallway conversations, emails or IM clients. A way for us to say "yeah sure we can help you with that...but please go here and file a request so I have something to log my time aginst." We call that request an "Engagement"
so my list is an "Engagement Request" list and it lives on our Sharepoint 2010 Team site. *Yes I am aware there are a plethora of ticketing systems out there that might be able to better facilitate this but that isnt an option for us and I
am the poor sod tasked with making it happen using Sharepoint.
What I am trying to do is set the permissions for the NewForm.aspx associated with this list so that anyone with a AD account can access it to create a new item (an "engagement request") but lock down access to the rest of the site..including
the list (because one person who is engageing us for a password rest has no business seeing the record/status of our other engagments. At this point I have figured out how to route the users (who have previously requested and been granted access
to the site) from the Enagement form BACK to the the main menu so they dont automatically see the list. Basically I added an image top the Top level team site that says "Engagment", linked it directly to the NewForm.aspx URL and
appended it with the "?source=https//" bit at the end which will re-direct the user back to the Toplevel site on save/submit rather than the Allitems display of the list they just added a new item (Engagment) to.
Ok now that I have explained all that...and I apologize for the overly verbose nature of this post but what I need to do is set it so that anyone with a valid AD account can access the top level site of the teamsite...and Add a new item to the engament list...
but that is all, nothing else. I cant allow them to go into the other lists and libraries on the teamsite. My research indicates that I can set unique permissions on things all the way down to files but I cant seem to wrap my mind around how to
grant automatic access to the toplevel site (and the NewForm.aspx) but NOT everything else.
I have been assigned as one of the owners of said site so I should have the required permissions to do this. Im just not sure HOW to do this. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
~Confused SharePoint Teamsite ownerDaniel,
Thank YOU for taking the time to reply!
Unfortunately I do not have the Enterprise version of SharePoint 2010 (and therefore no access to InfoPath form services) so I was forced to configure the permissions for the list using the browser interface. As you suggested I configured the permissions
for the top-level site in the collection as such so that anyone within the ADS\Domain users group was part of a custom "Name of My Department Visitors" group (separate from the default SharePoint "Visitors" group).
I then managed the permissions on that group to have "Contribute" access. After this I made EVERYTHING under The Main Page unique secured.
I then went into the actual list that tracks the "engagements" and went to the List settings (via the ribbon) / Advanced Settings (under the General Settings heading) and set the "Create and Edit access:" option to "Create items
and edit items that were created by the user".
Using this setup I was able to log into the site using my test user account (which is part of the ADS\Domain users group) then access the "Engagement" New Item list and create an entry. From here my re-direct dumped me back to the main page.
When I browse manually to that engagements listing I can now see (and Edit) the item I created (using my test user account) but NONE of the other items in the list. -

I am trying to open iTunes on my mac. But a box pops up saying "The folder iTunes is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder". Anyone know what that means? I've had my computer 2 years and its never had a problem opening it
I've already right-clicked on the application, clicked "get info", and changed it so all people listed in the "Sharing & Permissions" section have the "read & write" privilage.
The error message is referring to your iTunes library, not your iTunes application.
You need to check and fix the permissions of the iTunes folder in your iTunes library. This is by default located in your "Music" folder.
Select the folder Music > iTunes in the Finder, right click on it or Ctrl Click and click "Get Info". At the bottom of the contextual window thatwill pop up, disclose the Sharing and Permissions brick, change your status from Read only to Read & Write. You may need to click the padlock icon to make changes. -
Hi,
I would like to enquire is there anyway that i can improve the performance for table BKPF from the ABAP code point of view.
Because we have customise one program to generate report for the asset master listing.
one of the select statement are show as below:
SELECT SINGLE * FROM BKPF WHERE BUKRS = ANEP-BUKRS
AND GJAHR = ANEP-GJAHR
AND AWKEY = AWKEYUS.
I would like to know how it different from the select statemene below:
SELECT SINGLE * FROM BKPF INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF T_BKPF
WHERE
BUKRS = ANEP-BUKRS
AND GJAHR = ANEP-GJAHR
AND AWKEY = AWKEY.
Which of the select statements above can enhance report,because currently we have face quite bad issue on this report.
Can i post the ABAP code on this forum.
Hope someone can help me on this. thank you.Hi,
As much as possible use the primary keys of BKPF which is BUKRS, BELNR and GJAHR. Also, select only the records which are needed so to increase performance. Please look at the code below:

by negative 1
IF <fs_final>-shkzg = 'H'.

How to use bind variable value for table name in select statement.
Hi everyone,
I am having tough time to use value of bind variable for table name in select statement. I tried &p37_table_name. ,
:p37_table_name or v('p37_table_name) but none worked.
Following is the sql for interactive report:
select * from v('p37_table_name') where key_loc = :P37_KEY_LOC and
to_char(inspection_dte,'mm/dd/yyyy') = :P37_INSP_DT AND :p37_column_name is not null ;
I am setting value of p37_table_name in previous page which is atm_state_day_insp.
Following is error msg:
"Query cannot be parsed, please check the syntax of your query. (ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended) "
Any help would be higly appreciated.
RajInterestingly enough I always had the same impression that you had to use a function to do this but found out from someone else that all you need to do is change the radio button from Use Query-Specific Column Names and Validate Query to Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only). Apex will substitute your bind variable for you at run-time (something you can't normally do in pl/sql without using dynamic sql)

Can substitution strings be used for table name references?
Hi,
I was wondering if it's possible to use substituion strings for table names in SQL queries. This would allow for me to edit all references to a table at one location. For instance, if a table name or dblink changed, I could edit the substitution string or application item to ensure all the queries reference the new table.
For example:
select * from &table1.
table1 would be the substitution string for the actual table name
I know this is possible if I used a pl/sql function returning a query, but I would much rather use a substition string in a SQL query.
Thanks in advance.
Briani think not
because how create the fields of * in this case
in the other because all is dynamic, i think that you obtain only an error -
Hello folks,
I had successfully created a table and I tried inserting some records in to the table using table maintenance.
I received the following error.

Hw to create a UI elemet for table thru codin
hi all,
please tell me hw to create a new UI element for table thru codin.
Thanks in advanceHello ,
The easiest way to create a Table through coding for a context node is to write the following code in WDDOMODIFY method of the View
Check, whether this method has been processed before
IF first_time = abap_true.
Get reference to group, which shall be modified
DATA: lr_group TYPE REF TO cl_wd_group.
You can provide the name of any container under which you want to create the table*
Assuming that the GRUOP_1 is already created statically in the layout*
lr_group ?= view->get_element( id = 'GRUOP_1' ).
Define table bound to node DB_TABLE
DATA: lr_table TYPE REF TO cl_wd_table,
lr_context_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
Assuming DB_TABLE is the context node for which you want to create the table*
lr_context_node = wd_context->get_child_node( name = 'DB_TABLE').
CALL METHOD cl_wd_dynamic_tool=>create_table_from_node
EXPORTING
ui_parent = lr_group
table_id = 'TABLE_DB_TABLE'
node = lr_context_node
RECEIVING
table = lr_table.
Now you can set the table properties by calling the method on lr_table*
ENDIF.
Other way to create the table is to define each and every column of the table . But it requires more coding . -
Read-only access permissions for new files/folders?
System:
Clean Install on new intel Xserve
10.4.8 Server w/ Open Directory
Windows clients can read/write completely fine...
Clients connecting using AFP (whether Standard or Kerberos authentication) can access files, but when new files/folders are created on the server, they register as full permissions for the user who created them, but not for the rest of the group.
The share(s) in question are set using POSIX from WGM: Full access for owner/group/everyone (changed it to this thinking it would help, but it does not). Of course, no one can make changes to a newly-created/deposited files/folders, which is just plain silly.
I can chmod the permissions recursively from a script (which fixes the problem, of course) on a regular basis so that its not (as much of) an issue, but there is still a 5-minute lag for the script to kick in, since we don't want to bombard the server with chmod requests every minute....which is unnecessary in the first place!
I have plenty of other setups which are identical but have no such issue...
Any reason why POSIX permissions on the share are being ignored from every user account?
Thanks,
k"That's default posix behaviour no matter what access permissions you set on the sharepoint."
I'm afraid this is dead wrong. What matters most is how you set permissions on the share, not if you've chosen to inherit vs. using POSIX. POSIX is still used in inherit functions, though you can use ACL's to override them. In this case, ACL's are not being used on those shares (though we tried it).
After all, why would Apple (let alone anyone else) even offer the ability to change POSIX permissions on a share if it didn't have any effect? That would be somewhat contradictory in nature.
Like I said before, I have several other installations which are identically setup that have no such issues.
As for Windows, it is also not set to inherit permissions; we're setting those explicitly. And they work fine.
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
k
