PF Calculation Stopped

Hi Experts,
We have applied many patches recently which were pending to apply since long.
After applying in QA client, I hired a new employee for the test.
But In the first payroll run I found that PF calculation has been totally stopped.
Following wage types couldn't calculated in payroll result (i.e. in pc payresult) which does calculate in Production client.

Product type 56A-Posn cash flows Sec Acc Class-Calculation stops after 2017

Hi All
I created product type 56A with a security class ID repaying finally in January 2020 & with interest conditions of 5.5% throughout. But I see the position cash flows in FTR_EDIT for that product type only showing interest flows till 2017 instead of till 2020.
Is there anything that I need to do to get this calculated till repayment date?
I checked my calendar & it is active till 2050 for the currency USD. My company codes local currency is USD.

This reply may not wholely relate to your issue, but we faced similar issue with Securities - Debentures, we had created the transaction till 2020 but the we were able to see the flows only till 2014, later when we checked with SAP, they gave us the solution that under following config we need to maintaine blank or zero in the field CM period (Cash Mgn.), then it worked.
The path is
IMG->Financial Supply Chain Management->Treasury and Risk Management->Transaction Manager->Securities->Master Data->Product Types>Define Company Code-Dependent Settings for the Product Type.
Also we had to run tcode FWUP for the particular transaction and then check with tcode TPM13 to check whether flows exits.

Oracle 9i RMAN backup filling up all disk and failing at the very end

Hello to all and thank you in advance for any input from any of you.
I am new in oracle and the only one in my company with a little bit of oracle knowledge, which is not a whole lot.
I inherited a few servers (Linux and Windows based). We mostly run all our production environment on a Linux box hosting oracle 10g release 10.2.0.1 but we had a legacy application server that still runs on 9i release 9.2.0.1.0. This server is a windows 2003 box, the previous DBA or someone else with admin rights to this machine compressed the whole drive where oracle resides, when I started summarying the oracle assets, I saw this server with no backups scheduled and a compressed disk with very limited space after this compression, only 13 GB left, the database if uncompressed would definitively filled up all the disk. The machine is in used and cannot be taken down for more than a couple of hours. We tried adding another disk but the machine only accept it as a hot spare. The database is in archive mode, when I tried to run a RMAN backup, it start filling up the database drive until it's empty and it crashes the whole machine, it seems like the buffer is growing and growing until it fills up the whole drive. The only way to get the server up and running again is to reboot the machine since the server is more than 6 years old we are not please with this action because we are afraid the machine would go south in one of those reboots.
Has anyone heard of similar issues when running RMAN on a compressed drive? Can the compressed disk have any involvement in this kind of odd behaviour? I tried running the backup in debug mode and creating a log in a different disk (the one where the backup is going to) and still the same issue. Again any help is much appreciate,

Thank you for your fast response, I am going to use your previous post to answer one by one your question,
1 The Oracle binaries --- on a compressed drive > Yes
2 The Oracle database control files redo log files and datafiles on that same compressed drive? > Yes
3 The archived redo log ditto? > Yes
I know for a fact (as I have been using that in 9i) you can create a RMAN backup on a compressed drive, and you can have your archived redo go to a compressed drive. No problemo! > Excellent good news!!!
But I would never touch the data files. Please note backup sets are multiplexed files consisting of multiple datafiles, so RMAN would need to do some calculations to decompress several blocks at the same time and to calculate a new block and compress it.
Do you have enough space to:
a) (preferred) to make datafile copies instead of a backup >
Not in the drive that hosts the oracle instance but yes on an external usb drive (1TB) I attached to use as a backup repository, maybe this is why I am having these issues. I only have 13 GB left on that drive where the oracle instance resides (actually as I explained in a previous reply to Mark, the server only has 3 slots for disks, two of them as configured as RAID 1 and the other is a hot spare because the RAID configuration manager cannot can only added as hot-spare. The raided disk are partitioned in two, one small partition is for the OS and the other is for the oracle instance). When you said make a copy of the datafiles, I assumed you are talking about doing manual backups, and copying the database after using using "alter tablespace tablespace_name begin backup; then copy the file; alter tablespace tablespace_name end backup;
b) use filesperset=1 on the backup command line, so the multiplexing (and associated calculations) stop. I have not tried the option of fileperset yet but I can tryi it and see if that helps.
Can you post the last few lines of the RMAN log where RMAN bombs out? Note: the last few lines. Not all of it, or you must send some paracetamol in conjunction! >
When I ran the debug option, I stopped the backup at less than 20% because I didn't want to reboot the system in the middle of the production time, the backup consumed at least 3 GB during the time was running. The times I ran the RMAN backup I didn't used the debug option so I don't have a log long enough to send unless you want the last few lines of what I have.

I have used extracts to analyze the zeros in the system. You can leverage them in 11.1.2.2 you would want to make sure to do some comparisons on zero's that are loaded and zeros that are calculated and/or consolidated so you would want to take several different extracts and compare them. If you are pre 11.1.2.2 you would need to leverage Extended Analytics to be able to extract calculated or consolidated zeros.
Rules leveraging a write to file can also support this process as you may have zero's that don't actually get stored but calculations are still triggered on zeros depending on how the calc's are set up, and unnecessary steps get triggered.
Zero's may not be the only item either, if you have ratios that are stored or other calculations in the rules you can watch out for very small numbers that are close to zero, if there are loops on those it can really kill performance. I have had some excellent success in adding some rounding in various parts of the rules to ensure that iterative calculations stop after some number of iterations, or stop once it gets a few places to the right of the decimal.

Focus troubles with "Please wait" window

This is a question for experts...
I have a complex focus management. So I wrote a FocusTraversalPolicy.
During focus calculation, I may need to call a server. So I display a nice "please wait" JDialog.
Pb is that focus stays at original field and does not go to the result of my calculation.
Note that everything was OK up to JDK 1.4.1 and pb appears both in 1.4.2 and 1.5
The problem seems to be in the following sequence :
- current field is fld1, user hit <tab>
- focus calculation is started, calling my class (call it MyPolicy)
- MyPolicy runs calculation and open the blocking dialog
- calculation stops, dialog is closed
- MyPolicy return the correct field (fld2) to go to
- fld2 gets the focus
- ONLY HERE the original window retrieves the focus
- and as the focus returns to fld1 :-(
Do you have any suggestions about how to solve that ?

To answer your question, NO : the behaviour is correct when JDialog is not showed.
But suppressing the JDialog is not a solution because sometimes I really HAVE TO show a JDialog (error message).
I succeeded to make it run by clearing the focus owner when I do my calculation :
java.awt.KeyboardFocusManager.getCurrentKeyboardFocusManager().clearGlobalFocusOwner();That keeps the focus getting back to fld1.
But I am not absolutely sure why. Implementation trick ?
I understand that something changed in focusing windows in 1.4.2...

SubVI window closure

Hi!
I built a subVI for an Oscilloscope VI that performs signal analysis.
Users should be able to open and close the subVI's window, but I cannot make it work as I wish.
What it should do is:
- open the subVI when an on-off control is clicked and start calculations
- close the subVI's window and stop calculations
- redo this passages every time the user needs it
What I builts does:
- open the subVI with the button and start calculations properly
- when I close the SUBVI window it opens again whith calculations stopped
- after re-closing, if I open the subVI with the button it does not calcuates
- after re-cliking the button it finally starts working again
I have attached the subVI and an example VI reproducing the loop containing the subVI.
Do you know a better (and more correct) way to make it work?

I just noticed a nasty race condition you have as well. If you toggle the button after the terminal was read but before the local variable is written to, your button toggle could be ignored due to the local overwritting your user.
What I would do with this setup would be to launch the subVI as a parallel process. The VI can maintain its own state and what not. You could then use User Events and/or Queues to send your data to the other process.

Spreadsheet Problem(s)

Thanks again to all who helped me solve my AppleWorks program with a new battery.
Heres my coworkers problem:
Actually two problems - not sure if theyre connected.
1. Data, mostly words, entered into certain cells changes for no reason. For example, an O changes to an L, a C to a $
When she tried to retype the correct work or phrase and enter it, the program freezes.
2 At random, formulas that have been working and automatically calculating, stop doing so!
Originally used this spreadsheet on Performer 6116CD, System 7.6, ClarisWorks 3.0. Moved it to AppleWoks 6.2.7. Sometime later started experiencing problems.
Reconstructed a new spreadsheet in AppleWorks 6.2.7, with brand new formats/formulas, but copied and pasted the data. Worked for a few months but now same problems are recurring.
We welcome your ideas!

Welcome to the club of the "autocalc on strike bug".
Every CW/AW5 and AW6 pre 628/629 may corrupt internal pointers in spreadsheets.
The 1st visible consequence is the fact that autocalc no longer do its job automatically.
When the corruption becomes very heavy, it clobber strings and this corruption is not recoverable.
AW 628/629 seems to be unable to introduce new corruption but don't repair already corrupted files.
The trick, often described here, is:
save the doc as an AW5 file.
open the newly created file with AW6.
After that, in most of the case (in fact always for me), the internal pointers are now clean. If the corruption stroke some strings, you (we) will have to repair them by hand but after that you (we) will be safe.

How to stop system from doing calculation of pricing in sales order?

Recently I am working on how to stop consecutive entries of identical condition type in pricing of a sales order. For this I have written a custom routine to track multiple identical condition type. If it gets multiple condition type then system shows error message. But after this while pressing back button of the SAP Screen System is doing the corresponding calculations for all the condition types. I want to stop this.
Is there any way to do so that I can stop the system form doing the calculation. Or is there any way to disable back button of the SAP Screen. Basically I want to stop a user from posting a sales order if he enters multiple identical condition type in a sales order.

If you go to Condition Type -> Access Sequences and highlight the relevant access sequence and navigate to folder "Accesses" there should be a column which indicates "Exclusive". This check box should be active. This will prevent duplicate condition types.

How To stop the Security Deposited Calculation at the time of move out.

Hi Shilpa,
First thing I will say that if you reverse an actual payment from customer's account, there are many impacts on the customer side and on SAP side. I think you have already taken care all these things.
Now for the first point if you want the open SD will not appear in the print document, you can do it by reversing the security deposit or by invoicing printing configuration. For the first option you can go to change security deposit (FPSEC2) and reverse it. To do this all the SD documents should be in open status.
For the second option you can go to the following menu path:
SPRO-SAP Utilities-Invoicing-Invoice Processing-Item Selection in Invoicing-Item Selection in Account Maintenance/ Define Sub-Items
In the above menu path for clearing type R4 (Invoicing) and periodic billing (R41), you can control the items which will be printed in the invoice. Select the clearing type and click on the 'Item selection on bill print out' on the left hand side. For the clearing category (maintained at contract account level) you can maintain the main and sub transaction of security deposit (might be 0020 / 0020) and you can see a field 'IP' (Item Will Be Printed on the Bill) where you should maintain it blank. If you do that, security deposit will not be picked up in the invoice document. However it will remain open in the account if you just stop the printing of SD and keep it in the account.
However it totally depnds on the business requirement and related implications whether you want to reverse the SD or you want to keep this in account and do not want to show them on the bill.
Now for the second point you have mentioned, you need to first decide what you will do with the SD payments made by customer.
Either you can release the SD amount and refund it to customer or the amount can be adjusted with the next invoice. Again it depends on business requirement whether you will refund any payment made against SD or you will simply reverse all open security deposits.
Also if you want to stop the SD creation process now onwards, you need to revert all SD configuration like main / sub transaction configuration for SD, default SD releted settings etc. There is no standard process for it. If you want to reverse the SD, you can write a custom program. The configuration related things need to be done manually.
Since all the things will impact the business process or customer, I hope you will take care those things before coming to a conclusion.

This issue appears where there are any inconsistencies in your catalog (generally for video files). This issue may be due to offline files, missing files, video scenes. The recommendation here would be to fix these inconsistencies and try again. If that doesn't solve the issue, please follow steps mentioned in email by me.

Why did form fields suddenly stop functioning or calculating!!!

All the forms I have created stopped working from one day to the next. The numbers I enter in a field that have to change to dates, dollar amounts, and/or totals, won't do anything. I have used these forms for over a year without a problem, until now. Why is it doing this? We use these on a daily basis and need these calculations. We have to enter calculations in manually which defeat the purpose of this feature. Please help.

Answers:
1. Form was created in Acrobat 9 Standard.
2. We repeatedly open this form and save as something different. Other forms, we open often as well and just save (to replace).
3. I have attached one of the forms. The odd thing is that its the same case with ALL of our forms without exception.
4. Usage rights should not be restricted

Stop a calculated date from updating each time the form opens

I have a calculated "read only" Date field, that populates the current date. how do I stop this from re-calculating the date once it is submitted?

I just dont know what to put in the Javascript to make it update the date. I only know how to do it automatically in Form Calc

HT1338 Mountain Lion stops downloading at 41.3 mb's. Shows calculating and does not move on!

Trying to download Mountain Lion on a Mac mini and it is stopping at 41.3 Mb's. It shows "calculating" but does not move on beyond that stage! Version 10.6.8 is the current OS... Any suggestions?

I am having difficulties too!. I have found a way to push it along but don't know if in the end this will eventually succeed and I don't know why I am having to do this.
For what it is worth.
But going to the app LaunchPad and clicking on the in progress OS X Mountain Lion download and pausing it momentarily and then clicking it again, I have gotten my download to keep moving along. Again I don't know why and I have had to do this several time to get the download to progress to 3.11GB out of the total 4.37GB. So I'm three quarter of the way thru and about to do the process again to get the apparently stalled download going again.....
OK. It is again moving along..... now to 3.27GB
Too me it has the symptoms of the download process finding it has a bad package and repeatly trying again until it stops trying. At that point is just stops. When one kicks it by doing the LaunchPad stop and go, I think it checks finds a problem and restarts the download of the problem packets .... that's my theory....
My download is now up to 3.79 out of 4.27GB.
I have been messing with this on three computers in my network for a couple weeks..... This is the furthest I have gotten..... Perhaps I will succeed today....
BTW - It appears to have stop again at 3.79.... I;m going to play the stop/go game in Launchpad....
After about aminute it has started downloading again.....
Now 3.80GB.....
Perhaps Apple should look more carefully at it's caching servers...... I think they are either timing out connections or somehow making the past never fail Apple Downloaded look pretty advanced compared to this stop and go model....
I am now up to 4.03 and downloading with about 10 minutes to go....
