Phone or Firmware?
Ok, so here is the history, I had to have my phone replaced because the mic on the head phones was not working. So it was a problem with the headphone port. Now I have a new phone and ever since i have had the new phone I have had a problem with the phone.
My problem is that if I place a call with my phone and then hang up with my head phones (Apple or third party) the phone seemes to freeze up. The phone doesn't hang up, but keeps counting and does not respond to me unlocking the phone. I have had to force the phone to quit twice and each time it seems to take longer then usual for the phone to start up.
So my question is, is this my 'new' phone or is it a problem with 1.1.3?
Kurt
Falco223, why did you even bother to post that useless non-answer? to rack up points against your name?
Kurt, is the phone "not hanging up" only happen when you try to end a call with squeezing the mic button on your headset, or does it happen also when you use the red hang up button on the phone itself?
You need to log the different ways this is happening to you or not happening, see if it is a trend. The iPhone can be a little buggy at times. But not all the time.
Have you done a forum search to see if this has occurred in other firmware versions? 1.1.3 is only about a week or two old, was your phone an Out of the Box 1.1.3 or upgraded after you received the replacement? If it was upgraded, perhaps you can revert to 1.1.2 and see if the problem persists then upgrade again.

Can't Web Browse to 6900 series phones running firmware 9.4.1.3 on cisco CME
Hi
I'm having issues with web browseing to cisco IP phones.
Historically we could web browse to a a basic settings/ dianostics page of the phone by simiply browseing to the phones IP address.
However after an upgrade to SCCP firmware 9.4.1.3 this is no longer possible? I have tested from the same lan/subnet but still it refuses connections. Did a telnet using port 80 and this is also refused.
Was this feature removed in the later firmware? I have always found this feature usful especially when doing degugging and remote testing.
If it is still possible to web to them does anyone know how this is enabled. I'm searching around but not found a solution yet.
Thanks
SimonI think web access disabled by default started in 9.3(3) for these phone models:

5800 key lock problem during phone calls - firmwar...
See previous post that is marked as solved, but is not solved in my case.
I am using Mail for Exchange, my company forces the phone to lock after 10 minutes of idle time.
When I get a phonecall when the phone is locked, there is no way that you can have access tto normal phonecall functions as <Mute> and <Speaker> during a phonecall. And you can not unlock without breaking the call..
Yes when you receive a call ther is a green <answer> and a blue <unlock> slider. Howvever when swipng the <unlock> you can only choose between <answer> and <reject> and there is [Option] that gives you access to <answer> or <reject> aswell.
In other words no access to phone functions, No way you can activate the speaker on the phone when you were called while the phone was locked. This is quite useless and in my opinion a design flaw.

back up your data and reformatt the phone if you wish this should remove the lock (where ever they got it from we would like to know)
this will take your phone back to out of box condition
try these code below
. *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list. The default code for all operations listed here is 12345
2. *#7370# - Reformat your phone
3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working. If the phone is not showing any activity, proceed with hard formatting , turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
hard reset - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons ( for Nokia 5800XM - use the following buttons to do a hard reset, GREEN/RED/CAMERA keys pressed all at once on power up. this will only work on 5800's that have firmware version 20... and up. )
If i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

How to disable phone software (firmware) updates?
Hi,
Every time nokia suite connects to my nokia c3, says there is software update available for my phone. And doesn't sync anything until i press "update later". I always forget to do, because syncing should work in background without my intervention. Later I see empty calender in my phone, because it isn't synced at all. Tried googlint it, and searching your forums, can't find the answer.
The problem is that nokia suite doesn't update phone through bluetooth. I tried searching for update through phone menu (using phone's wireless connection), but it says no update available. Strange...
How do i get to rid of that ************* message and start syncing automatically again?
Solved!
Go to Solution.I'm doing more experiments. Tried blocking trough firewall, but couldn't manage it. How it is called in windows 7 firewall? I tried removing these, but didn't help, nokia still finds update and doesn't sync: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2504695/cant%20find%20nokia%20to%20remove%20from%20firewall.jpg
But later i just removed internet cable from laptop and it worked! My nokia suite automatically synced after i launched it. So, I just need to figure out, how to block nokia suite trough firewall not to access internet. Any help here or in fixing this bug?
I've just restarted my laptop, but it didn't help. Firewall still doesn't block nokia suite despite my efforts. And after finding an update it doesn't sync automatically. -
E90 phone software (firmware) update
Does anyone know what changes/benefits there are should I decide to upgrade my E90 software to the latest version?
Check if u can do this
press *,3 and green call button together - power off the fone, remove the battery - restart after a few mins.
if u had removed the fone while update or if the updater dint complete installation properly, u may have to take it to a nokia care point for them to flash the fone again.
good luck
Wishing u a great time with your device,

Hello everybody,
I have the following situation:
A WAN VoIP network, with centralized call processing model (central site and few branches)
Cisco IP Phones 7945-G and 7965-G running SCCP
Cisco Unified Communications Manager 8.6(2a)
SCCP firmware Release 9.2(3) for the above mentioned hardware models
The problem that occurs randomly is that either when the firmware was SCCP firmware Release 9.2(1), or it was upgraded to SCCP firmware Release 9.2(3), approximately 5 Cisco IP Phones, the screen goes blank, the phone being still operational (but difficult to operate in such circumstances), and the problem persists until it is disconnected from PoE, and re-connected.
Please if possible, any solution to this problem is much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
RaduHello again,
In addition to what I already mentioned, I would like to detail a few aspects, in order to be more specific with this behavior:
- From the total number of Cisco IP phones which is less than 1000, this behavior happened randomly, within 1 month and 3 weeks
- Actually, it was a total number of 8 Cisco IP phones whose display went off, 4 being located in Headquarters, and from the other 4, 3 were in the same Branch, and 1 in another Branch
- Also, 7 IP phones are connected in non-Cisco switches with PoE, and 1 IP Phone was power supplied from AC adapter
- initially, all existing IP phones had firmware Release 9.2(1) for 7945G and 7965G, and the mentioned behavior happened with 4 IP phones
- then, for all IP phones, it were upgraded to firmware Release 9.2(3) for 7945G and 7965G, but problem re-appeared with other 4 IP phones
The only solution that solved the issue for each IP phone was to disconnect the power from the IP phones.
I hope that you might help me on how to get solving this problem, and I am looking forward for any useful idea or solution.
Many thanks in advance.

:S :S Nokia 6120C - new firmware for my phone?! !?
Hi,
I have Nokia 6120 Classic, Product ID: 0555926 and last firmware for my phone is: v 3.83
But for other 6120 phones last firmware version is: 5.11, 4.21 ...
When we get new firmware for 0555926 product id phones???????? This is discrimination...
Thanks and sorry for my english ..
Message Edited by bavarac on 14-Jul-2008 01:30 AMIf the nokia software updater doesn't allow you to update then your phone is most likely network branded or network locked. Most networks don't bother approving new updates leaving their customers stuck with old firmware.
If your phone isn't network locked see this faq for more info: http://europe.nokia.com/A4577229#faq35

Strategy for managing phone firmwares
Hi,
I would like your advice on phone firmware management.
We are running a big CUCM 8.6 cluster with many site offices. The phone firmware version in device defaults is 9.3
When we order new phones, we receive phones with firmware versions less than 9.3 and greater than 9.3.
When the firmware version is less than 9.3, we dont have an issue. The phones just upgrade.
When the firmware version of the new phones is greater than 9.3, then we have had issues. Phones dont do the downgrade of the firmware from a higher version to a lower version. Does Cisco support downgrade of the phone firmware from a higher to a lower version? How do we know which version downgrades have been tested by Cisco. I dont see much info about downgrade in the release notes.
How do we manage this situation?
We dont want to add the new devices with a special load as we would like all devices in our network to have the same load.
Is upgrading the phone firmware globally on CUCM on a regular basis the only solution?
Please let me know how you manage the issue of phone firmwares on CUCM?
Many thanks for your help!!
Regards
PeteHi Pete,
Just to add some new fun into things, you now have to watch for
new "Hardware" versions as well. This will also impact the upgrade
& downgrade determinations made by certain phones when they
look to register. So your new phones won't downgrade to the older 9.x version and
this is why you are seeing these anomalies
So if you move past 9-3-1sr1 in the general device defaults you should be good to go.
Hardware Updates
The hardware updates improve the compatibility of internal phone components.
The following table lists the updated hardware versions that require this release.
Phone Hardware Version
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7942G
15.0 and higher
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7962G
15.0 and higher
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7945G
13.0 and higher
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7965G
13.0 and higher
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7975G
12.0 and higher
Phones manufactured with these hardware versions must run Firmware Release 9.3(1)SR1 or later. The phone firmware does not allow the phone to be downgraded to releases earlier than Release 9.3(1)SR1.

Language after phone firmware update
Hi, I have a Nokia 6233 (product code:0538465), purchased in Slovenia and ofcourse it has slovenian language. The reason why I wish to update my phone is, because it restarts really often when I am using the internet. My main concerne is now: Will I have Slovenian language after I update? Phones current firmware version is v5.10. Thanks for any helpful answers.
If your phone was originally purchased with Slovenian language support, that updating to new firmware will not result in language loss. However if you phone is originally made for other market then you will loose your language.

3194 = http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4451
If that Article does not resolve it... then you have a problem.
Perhaps a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is required..
Be sure to make an appointment first...
Note:
That error message may be indicative of the Device being Hacked / jailbroken.... If this is the case then you are on your own.

5530 firmware update found but not compatible?
Hi,
the phone is a french 5530 (no fimlock, no netlock, a free phone), a firmware update is found from nokia, i can download it from the phone. Then it restarts the phone, and a white screen appears with the update bar. But then it just restarts and on the home screen the message appears that it is not compatible with my network provider? I really want to update... but how?I'm having exactly the same problem. I even tried downloading via laptop, but it wont complete the installation.
I am so sick of my phone freezing or switching itself off I have just rang my contract supplier and they are going to arrange to get a new phone sent out. I did ask if I could have a different make of phone as I don't have much confidence in this one, but they will only exchange for the same.
Let's hope a new phone solves the issues! -

Nokia Series 40 & iSync 2.2: Minimum firmware version.
Been reading the testimonials about the long overdue series 40 support for iSync. Seems like there are some f/w requirements and I just want to get a quick log of the s40 users' f/w versions, and whether they were able to sync or not.
I have a 6230 (fw v3.15) and a 8801 (v3.78). Looks like I might be forced to u/g the 6230, but wondering whether the 8801 will be good. Anyhow, post freely.
Thanks.

12"PB Mac OS X (10.4.6)I bought my Nokia 6230 in Hong Kong in February 2005 and used it while doing fieldwork in West Africa. At that time, my firmware was I believe 4.x (don't quote me on that though!). I discovered that there was a Bluetooth bug in that phone's firmware so transferring files over x amount of MB would hang the phone. When I returned to HK in November 2005, I went to one of the Nokia CareCentres and told them about the problem. The took my phone to upgrade the firmware for free and within an hour got it back. In HK, the Nokia policy is that if there is something wrong with the firmware, they'll upgrade your phone for free. So, you could try that tactic. Say that your old firmware has been having problems with the Bluetooth connection. If it's an old firmware, it's likely it has that problem.
According to PhoneDirector, this is what my phone's firmware currently is:
Phone model: Nokia 6230
Phone software revision: V 05.50
Phone model code: RH-12
Network: Cingular, U.S.A.
Network code: 310 17
Connection status: 6
