Phone will not load contacts

I just got my new phone after making an insurance claim, and i synced my google account yet my backed up contacts will not load on my phone. I really dont want to go in to the store and have them move them all over. Can anyone give me some things to try?

Hi there HeatherMO! The first thing I recommend you try when syncing your contacts is to make sure that Google/Gmail has been set to be the default backup client. Go into Contacts> Menu> More> Settings> Contacts Storage. Make sure the green button is next to Google. If you've tried this but it hasn't worked, please let me know. Thanks!

It sounds like your phone is not charging or charging very slowly. I would use these troubleshooting steps from the following article:
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery

If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.

Hi, Just put phone in the recovery mode and restore to the factory settings. It should work.

IPhone 4 with IOS 5 will not load Contacts or Calendars from iCloud.

I updated my iPhone 4 to IOS 5 and migrated from MobileMe to iCloud. My Contacts and Calendars sync fine between my MacBook Pro and iCloud, but will not sync to my iPhone. Under Settings, Mail, Contacts, Calendars... there is a greyed out box at the bottom of the screen saying "Loading Contacts, Calendars...", but no activity. I am unable to access Contacts from the Contacts icon and often I cannot even access the telephone function without doing multiple resets of the device. Is this an IOS 5 stability issue, or an iCloud problem? Any tips for resolving this issue?

You are not alone!
I have the same problems. Sync iCloud/iPhone most of the time doesn't work, but works some time. I have the same message under Settings, Mail, Contacts, Calendars... the greyed out box at the bottom of the screen saying "Loading Contacts, Calendars...". However sometime I can access theses options, why and when I do not know.
I tried a lot of tests in all directions, no success.
I tried to delete my iCloud account on the iPhone, and reinstal it, no success.
Should I send an invoice to Apple for the time I spend to test their iPhone...
Same issue when I simply want to call, I cannot because the list of contacts is blank, no contact at all is displayed, so it is impossible to select one to call. The call application hangs, which is difficult to accept on a mobile phone
It is the first time I bought an Apple thing... 800 euros for an unlocked iPhone, and I can not always use it to call somebody. In one way, I miss my Nokia so much, much simpler and always on duty! Ok ok the iPhone is nice.... but simply doesn't work.
Not even mention the battery life, the GPS localisation... It seems that the wi-fi use a lot of energy as well, when trying to connect 24/7 even if your are away from any wi-fi modem. There is a lot of other issues on this phone... The list is so long, I do not have the time and energy to list them.
It seems that the wonderful Apple Company does the same that other companies, put products on the market who are still in the development process.What a disappointment, especially regarding the price and the reputation of the said company.
As you, I reboot the iPhone, several time a day, and rebooting the thing is longer that reboot a pc.

Phone will not import contacts from SIM

Hi, original iPhone, just upgraded device to 3.0. I go to 'import SIM contacts' and the phone acts like it's importing, then kicks out to the main screen. I check the contacts program and nothing is there.
I have verified that the contacts are on the SIM.
Any suggestion on how to resolve this?

Same problem for me, with an exception (that may apply to you). After importing SIM contacts and having them NOT show up in contacts list, I've found that they DO, in fact, show up when you do a phone search (the new feature accessed via a right hand sweep from the home page) for a contact that was on the sim card. In fact, it even shows up as a contact. So it does appear to import to the phone, there is just no way of viewing via the contacts list. Let me know if anyone discovers the same.

Do you have a seperate AP providing your wireless or are you using the wireless built into the AT&T router? If seperate, you will need to re-configure the AP to the new equipment AT&T sent you.

I sync 2.4 will not load

iSync for the ical and address book are working fine.
the iSync for the phone will not load. and it has a generic Icon. version 2.4.
I have:
reinstalled the isync. via update.
deleted it and reinstalled via update.
Tiger disk will not do a isync only install it wants me to archive and install a new 10.4 and then I would have to re-update back to 10.4.10. really do not want to do that.
I can not find 2.1.
I have repaired permissions and Disk Warrior and every combo you can think of.

Because i had killed my iSync app by deleting it and I was not able to extract the iSync from the tiger installer disks, The 10.4.10 combo did not fully in stall the iSync app.
The isync from the system Pref. work fine, iCal, Address book ..ect. the problem was the iSync in the Application Folder would not load and had a generic Icon and was only 12Mb in size. So I need to get a base copy of iSync app on to my Mac. So i drage the iSync app (21Mb ) form my wives Mac onto my desktop. both mac are 10.4.10 Right or wrong it worked.

Sorry, but there is no solution. As stated in the system requirements, V1 Golf requires iOS 4.3 or later, and your 3G iPhone will support only up to iOS 4.2.1. So the app is not going to run on your iPhone. You can try contacting the iTunes Store, explaining the issue, and ask if they can grant a refund. They're not obigated to do so, but in some cases they've been generous.

There are only a few things that prevent an iOS from charging When using the charger that came with the iPhone and having that plugged into a wall outlet.
1. No power in the outlet.
2. Bad charger. Try a different charger.
3. Bad cable. Try a different Apple branded or name brand cable.
4. Dirt, lint or fuzz in the connection ports. Check and carefully clean with a wooden toothpick if necessary.
5. Software glitch. First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
6. Hardware failure. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

For months now, in each versions of Firefox, when I open my gmail and click of Mail/Contacts, an''' oops''' error message appears, and the Contacts will not load. However, in other browsers, IE and Chrome there is no problem, so it '''has''' to be a Firefox problem. Please help to solves this.

I get a msg saying that prefence pane will not load mail contacts and calendars. Does anyone know why? How I can fix that? Is that why I can't add new events to ical?
