Photo library has two albums with same pics.

Hey guys, I am having a problem... not really a problem but an annoyance. I have two photo albums on my Ipod touch 4g with the same pictures. I have tried to restore, resynch, anything I could think of too only have one but no5hint worked. What I mean is when I open photos it goes to albums which shows Camera Roll, Photo Library, and My Pictures. The problem is Photo Library and My Pictures have the same exact pictures. How do I get rid of one so Its just like Camera Roll and Photo Library. Thanks for any help.

You cannot.
This is how Apple handles photos.
ALL photos sycned to the iphone will be in Photo library. You can access those exact same photos from the folders/albums thta you chose to sync. Just as one song can be accessed from itunes library and a playlist, the one pic can be accessed from Photos library and the album.

One Artists, Two Albums With Same Name Displaying Together

I have my itunes setup to show artists in grid view. When I double click on a particular artist and look at the albums, I see two separate albums grouped into one. This artist has two albums named the same; one from 1980 and one from 2003. They are distinctly different albums with the same name. The only way I can separate them is to tack on [2003] to the album title of the newer one. Is there a way to have them with just the name but separated?

iTunes identifies an album by its name. If there is more than one album with the same name then iTunes will see it as one album. As you have found you have to give them different names.

although not a perfect solution, you could use the disk number field. Highlight your album, right-click, choose "Get Info". Put each album as a different disk number and you'll be sorted.
Normally this is for double albums where you'd have "1 of 2" and "2 of 2". However you can put in much larger numbers. I've been to 21, but I'd assume it goes much higher.

Two albums with same name combined into one

I have two greatest hits albums by different artists. Both albums are called 'greatest hits'. In iTunes on my Mac they appear as two different albums. I've just synched my music from my Mac to my iPhone (iOS8 I think). The albums have been merged into one greatest hits album (artists X songs have been added to artists Y a. How do I stop this?
On my Mac I've renamed one album 'hits' and then resynched. There are now two albums: Hits by artist Y and Greatest Hits by artist Y (with no album artwork and the songs are actually by artist X).

iTunes identifies an album by its name. If there is more than one album with the same name then iTunes will see it as one album. As you have found you have to give them different names.

Import Library Error two functions with same name on different namespaces

Im trying impor a library developed by me. In this library have two functions ShowMenu. First function be inside into a class and its declared as
void __fastcall TTrayicon:howMenu(). The second function has declared as extern "C" __declspec(dllexport) ShowMenu(int x, int y).
When i use de assistant to import this library i select the library and its header file. But in the next step the assistant show to me the first function.
Anyone explain what's happen?

I'm not sure what kind of answer you're looking for. LabVIEW's Import Library wizard does not always properly handle accessing functions in standard C++ DLLs. See this for more info.

Ipod sort by album - two albums with same name

Is this a bug? When I am browsing my music via "Albums" on my iPod, any duplicate album titles are shown as one album. For example, "Let it Be" by the Beatles appears, but not "Let it Be" by the Replacements. When I click into it, all the songs from both albums are there, but they are staggered. How can I make these appear as two separate albums in this view?

I find that the whole sorting capabilities of iTunes and ergo iPod are sorely lacking...
You'll also find that you can have the SAME album listed twice if your id3 tags have one or more spaces after the album name, but there's no indication that there are superfluous spaces until you go into the errant file and see what the title actually is...

Here's what I'd like to see:
Tracks listed by Artist; Year; Album; Disc #; Song #, no matter which column you pick...
What I mean by that is if I click on Artist, I'd like to see the albums in order of release and songs in order of appearance on CD. If there's more than one CD in a set, they should appear in numerical order...
Further to this, if I click on Year, the artists should appear alphabetically, the Disc # and Song # appear numerically
For the life of me I can't figure out why this is so hard for software developers to understand...

How do you stop your phone from creating two albums with the same photos after syncing?

When I first bought my phone I was able to sync my photos by checking the folder I wanted synced under iTunes. This put all those photos on photo library on my phone. I recently added more photos to that folder and tried to sync them it now put them in the photo library album and also created another album with my folder name. So I have two albums with the same photos. I tried in checking that folder in iTunes and of course they're not in my photo library. Please help. I don't want two albums with the same pics

This is how Apple has always handled photos. nothing has changed at all.
Just as your music is in your library and you can access those exact same songs from a playlist, all of your synced pics are in the Photo Library and those exact same photos (NOT duplicates) can be accessed from the album name that you chose to sync.

Replying to my own post - heh. I downloaded iExplorer (http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/) which allowed me access to the files on the phone and there was the phantom movie in the DCIM folder. Deleted it, and all is well - although I still have 0.65gb of Other in iTunes.....

As many of you, I've installed photos. This is my problem: I am an enthusiastic photographer that keeps around 10K photos per year (approx. 60GB), and while I have several years of pictures, I've just get the last 5 years. To be honest, I never liked iphoto to organize my pictures, I rather use Picasa. The way how pictures get organized, the poor effects tweaks to photos, the lack of freedom to keep an online folder...etc.
But with this new Photos, well, what the heck let's give it a chance.
It seemed cool, all my devices connected, iCloud (very limited storage though), new nice quick effects... the organization of pictures also seemed improved. the UI as usual with apple apps, pretty neat and clean.
Did I mentioned that I have several hundreds of GB of pictures? Well, a detail, I keep it in my time capsule to have them handy when I need it. With picasa, I just need to ensure that time capsule is waked, and pictures get recognized at once.
With photos, I've tried with 1 year, 10,000 pictures and.... very disappointed, it shutdown every 1 minute saying "Photos must quit because the photo library has become unavailable or its data is corrupt"...
Do I missing something here? is this supposed to be better than iPhoto? Time Capsule is not able to send steady signal to get my library online?

Not sure exactly whats going on with that given how new Photos is. But, Picasa works because differently than Photos because it doesn't use a centralized library. Picasa will just scan the entire computer and reference it in that location. Photos libraries, while sometimes problematic, are superior because as you've experience moving all the content is as simply as moving a single file.
Suggestions I would try:
Make sure Photos is quit. Hold down Command + Option on keyboard and click Photos icon to launch. Keep holding until you get a dialog box about repairing the library. Proceed with repair.
Move the library, if size permits, to your local HD on the computer and attempt to open and use.
Create a new library by holding Option on keyboard and launching Photos. Choose to create a new library and make sure it's placed in your ~/Pictures folder. If that works you know its library specific.
Right click on the external drive (also accomplished by holding Control when click), choose get info on the drive. Bottom of new window expand (if not already) the sharing and permissions section. Click lock icon and provide administrator password. If available, which it should be if using same drive for a Time Machine backup, check box to ignore permissions.

User 2 photo library has become unreadable

I am the adminstrator of our iMac. My wife is the other user and when she tries to access her photo library a message appears: "photo library has become unreadable .." Does anyone know how to resolve this?

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Is it possible to have two accounts with same UPN in AD?

To expand on what Mr X said. Active Directory allows you to assign just about anything to the userPrincipalName attribute, as long as the value is unique. The value of this attribute is generally referred to as the UPN. But you could assign values with no
"@" symbol, for example, or more than one "@" symbol. Also, Active Directory does not require that any value be assigned. It is an optional attribute.
If no value is assigned to the userPrincipalName attribute, then the user can use a "default" UPN, which is <sAMAccountName>@<DNS domain name>, where <sAMAccountName> is the "pre-Windows 2000 logon" name of the user
(the value of the sAMAccountName attribute), and <DNS domain name> is the DNS name of the domain.
If a user has a value assigned to userPrincipalName that does not match this "default" form, then they can logon with either UPN, as long as no one else has either value assigned to their userPrincipalName attribute. You will note that Active
Directory enforces uniqueness in the domain on sAMAccountName values.
If in domain "domain.com" a user has a sAMAccountName of "jsmith" but userPrincipalName "[email protected]", then another user can have userPrincipalName of "[email protected]" (as long as no one else
has that value assigned to userPrincipalName). They can each logon with their assigned values for userPrincipalName. But the first user can no longer also logon with their "default" value, based on their sAMAccountName, because it is now
used by someone else. But if you attempt to assign a value to userPrincipalName that is also assigned to another user, you get an error.
Bottom line, only one person can logon with any given UPN.

Problems with album with same title

I've noticed that if you have two album with the same name but different artist (in my case the album title is "Live") the song are mixed together...
I've solved the problem changing the title of one of the album in Live 2007, but is not a beautiful workaround.
I haven't noticed that in my old 5th gen IPod. Maybe a coincidence?
Any suggestion?

are you sure? if you go to either album info (right clicking on the album in grid view) and double clicking in the album art section, you should be able to use any picture you have saved on your machine by navigating to that picture. OR right clicking individual tracks, then get info, and going to 'artwork', and then deleting it there (you might have to delete them all individually, but it beats having the wrong art there)

Two records with same key (Infocube)

Hi,
I was trying to do, in a update rule, an "IF" condition with two key figures.
IF Kf1 > Kf2. result = Kf1 else result = Kf2.
But the data in the source (datamart Infocube to infocube) have tow records with the same characteristics combination (the same keys)and different amount in the keyfigures, then the result of my "if" condition is not the expected because I understood in the infocube only exists one characteristics combination. :S
I was seeing those records in the manage transaction of the infocube.
Some reason for this?

This can happen with parallel loads. Two rows with same set of Char values but in different packets of the same Request, being loaded at the same time.
It really shouldn't be an issue - your update rule will make the KF change as desired. Your queries aggregate KFs based characteristic values, not Dim IDs, so you'll get the totals you expect.

You can run the Correct Error option to have it update fact rows to use one of the DimIDs if you want, but unless you have lots of them, I even wouldn't bother.

Description
This elementary test recognizes whether there are several lines that have different DIMIDs(dimension table key), but have the same SIDs for the selected dimension table for the InfoCube specified. (This can occur by using parallel loading jobs). This has nothing to do with an inconsistency. However, unnecessary storage space is occupied in the database.
Repairs
Since the different DIMIDs with the same SIDs are normally used in the fact tables, they cannot simply be deleted. Therefore, all of the different DIMIDS in the fact tables are replaced by one DIMID that is randomly selected from the equivalent ones. Before a change can be made to the database, the consent of the user is requested.
DIMIDs that have become unnecessary are deleted in the connection. In doing so, not only are the DIMDs deleted that were released in the first part of the repair, but so are all of those that are no longer used in the fact tables (including aggregates). The consent of the user is again requested before this change is made.

After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an issue with photo syncing. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:

How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

I suddenly get this error message when trying to open and use Photos. "Photos must quit because the photo library has become unavailable or its data is corrupt."
I can't find a solution to fix the problem.

The only version of iPhoto that works with 10.10.3 is iPhoto 9.6.1 which must be downloaded from the App Store. What version of iPhoto do you have installed?
