I want to burn all my iMovie videos from my iPad to a DVD, because they are taking up too much space.  Does anybody know how to do this, or have any better suggestions?
    Thanks

You have to transfer them to a computer first how you do that depend on the type of computer
And then burn it on a dvd there are tons of free software which let you burn movies to dvds

  • The "other" is taking too much space on my phone?

Its almost six gb. What could that be?

You cannot remove the core apps included with the iOS.  You could try clearing safari's cache:Clear History & Website Data.  Depending on what third party apps you use, they may have a cache clearing function as well.  Go to General->Usage then under storage tap Manage Storage.  There you will see how much space each app is using.  Sometimes deleting & reinstalling an app can clear up valuable storage space.  Cleaning up messages, emails, & photos can also free up space.
    Hope this helps!

  • How do i identify all RAW photos in my Mac and have them removed - taking too much space.

I have a Macbook Air and I keep getting message that I'm out of space. i have emptied the trash but no difference. I believe it is the photos - I have impoted quite a bit of RAW photo files - how do i identify them and then delete them. I dont want to have 2 formats of the same photos.

The process is simple - but tedious.
Select the photos and export them, saving them as Jpegs.
Trash the Library. Make a new one. Import the Jpegs.
    Alternatively: move the Library:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
If you're intent on trashing the Raws, you have a couple of bigger questions to consider: why are you shooting raw if you're going to trash them? Why are you using iPhoto, which is designed for a non-destructive workflow, if you want a destrucutve one?

  • Aperture taking too much space, are files duplicated?

I am trying to create more open space on my MacBook Pro, that has a 120GB hard drive, that is nearly full, mainly with photographs. First, I relocated nearly every master in all my projects on Aperture to an external hard drive. Then I checked my Pictures Folder, and the Aperture Library file still had over 30GB. I went back to Aperture and looked under Library 2007 and it seemed like all the pictures were there again, that I thought I had relocated to the external drive, every picture I had taken or imported over the past year. Are these duplicates? How do I really clear photos off my laptop to maintain clear hard drive space? Ideally, I would like to just be able to retain the selected ones (Previews?) for slide shows and keep all my raw files on an external hard drive.
    thanks very much,
    Jordan

When you relocate masters, you should still be able to see them in your library - that's the whole point of referenced masters.
The master files you relocated - how big were they combined? does their size account for the reduction in the size of the library? Do you have previews switched on and if so, what preview size are you using?
Do you have lots iof rejected images that you are hiding and may not have relocated?
Use something like 'OmniDiskSweeper' to see what's on your hard drive and taking up all the space.

    Steve

  • Photos App taking too much CPU usage

    Hi everyone,
This morning I just installed Yosemite 10.10.3 and started to new Photos App.
Now, there is a processus taking almost 100% of CPU usage which I can't definitely kill : it always come back, even after I totally rebooted my MacBook Air. The Photos App is not running, but the process is.
    See my the screenshot below.
The fan is spinning at more that 6000 rpm.
    Anyone else having this issue?

Photos on my iMac uses 150% or more of the processor whenever it is open...even when I'm not doing anything in the app.  Once I close the app the processor returns to normal usage.  I just converted my Aperture library so perhaps it is doing background housekeeping?  I don't know, but this doesn't look right.

  • ITunes Music files taking too much space???

In my innocence, I had imagined that the storage requirements of iTunes would match those of my iPod. The iTunes programme now tells me that I have 6,694 songs in my library, using 46.43 GB of space. However, my iTunes Music directory boasts 10,278 files and occupies 75.7 GB of space, which is a real problem for me. Whence the discrepancy? When I delete files from iTunes I send them to the Recycle bin. So, what are these extra 2,600 files which occupy 35 GB of space that I cannot afford.
    Help, please.

Thank you for the sensible suggestions, ed. However, it is specifically, and only, my iTunes Music folder that shows 75.7 GB; and that does not include music files stored elsewhere. Is it possible that when iTunes imports a file it stores it simultaneously both in AAC and in its original format? That would seem pointless and wasteful. As for deletion, the question is to the point and all I can say with certainty at this stage is that, when I delete a track, I click the button for deletion; so, it seems to me, these files OUGHT to be deleted. So, I remain bewildered. And irritated. And, unless someone comes up with an easier solution, shall gear myself up to go through those thousands of files individually...

  • ITunes taking too much space

I'm nuit sure but I think iTunes is taking a lot of space from my Computer for backups. Is there any way I could remove the useless purchases I made?

Would probably be a good idea to find out what is actually taking up space before trying to remove items.

  • Apps taking too much space

A week ago iTunes reported that my apps too about 160 MB. I bought CoPilot NA, and tried to install on the phone. After a lengthy download, and then install, it failed. I then downloaded on my computer, and synced to my phone. CoPilot works fine, but, iTunes is now reporting that I have 4 GB of apps on the phone. CoPilot NA is about 1.3 GB and I have no other "large" apps.
My guess is that the install attempt on the phone left behind files, maybe 1 zipped file, and 1 app bundle that doesn't work and is invisible?
Any ideas on how I can get back some of this space?
    Thanks,
    Chris

I uninstalled Copilot, then reinstalled. Lost all my user settings, like My Places entries. That sucked, but, oh well.
Total app space went down to < 1 GB while Copilot was gone, then back up to 4 GB when it was installed, even though it is listed as 1.3 GB in the app store.
    Am I the only one?
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Aperture library needs too much space?

Hi, tried to import my iPhoto library with 63 GB into Aperture. Aperture says it will need 313 GB. Is that normal?
Is there a difference between just opening my iPhoto library with Aperture or importing it?
Thanks for answers, greetings from Munich

    Hi bernd,
I assume you have you upgraded to iPhoto 9.3 and Aperture 3.3?
Aperture says it will need 313 GB. Is that normal?
Unfortunately it has happened, but it is not normal There probably is something wrong with your libraries.
Is there a difference between just opening my iPhoto library with Aperture or importing it?
Yes, there is. when you are browsing an iPhoto Library from Aperture, the Aperture will not convert the library. But when you import it, then Aperture needs additional space to rebuild the iPhoto items as Aperture items, but not 5 times the size of the original library.
I would turn off anything that need additional space, like faces, previews, when importing. Also I would suggest to rebuild both libraries before uniting them with the Library First Aid tools.
Lauch Aperture with the ⌥⌘-keys hold down and rebuild the Aperture Library, and do the same with the iPhoto Library. (I assume your iPhoto Library already has been converted to 9.3 format?).
Back up both libraries, before you try the import.

  • Time Machine Back-up Taking Too much Space

I have only been a Mac owner for a little over three months.
I set up Time Machine with an external hard drive three months ago. My Mac hard drive has used 64.16 GB of space out of 249 GB. Ny external drive (300 GB) however was full and deleting on its own in just 10 weeks. Three days ago I erased everything on the external drive and started over. After the first full back up, 50.61 GB of space was taken. Now three days later it is up to 102.54 GB. What am I doing wrong, or what do I need to do to correct.
This is a 'home use only' computer and daily changes are minimal.
    Thanks for any feedback.
    Roger

    Hi mahlquist,
I have exactly the same problem on three macs running SL. Sometimes it simply wants to backup the whole drive instead of creating an incremental backup. The worst thing is that it deletes old backups first (when there is not enough space for an additional complete backup) without asking you if you want it to do that. So, the best solution is to deactivate the automatic backup in TM and start it manually only. Watch at the TM window, see what it is doing when the backup starts. When it starts to delete old backups, cancel the backup, restart your Mac and then try again. In most cases, TM then works again and creates incremental backups. Another bug is that sometimes it backups even folders that are in the list of excluded folders. I didn't manage to break TM of doing that. So I decided for a reinstall of SL on the machine that was affected.
This is one of the most annoying bugs in SL. TM is nearly unusable in SL. I also tried a complete wipe and install of SL to make sure that it wasn't the upgrade from Leopard that causes the broken TM. But this didn't solve the problem. In general, there are lots of bugs in SL. In the meantime, I would say that SL is one of the most annoying versions of OS X that Apple has ever released. Lots of bugs in such a manner are really new to me as a Mac user for many years.

  • Converting from a word document to pdf is taking too much space on mac

    Using what software?

  • "other" is taking too much space

I would like to know what it is so I can delete them

Hi, I noticed the "Other data" grows when the synchronization does not complete well.  Wheter it is through Wi-Fi or connected, my iTunes does not seem to block the mac to go in sleep mode.
Mostly happens when synching through Wi-Fi as it is longer.  I solved the issue by launching Cafeine (https://itunes.apple.com/fr/app/caffeine/id411246225?mt=12) or the cafeinate command (http://osxdaily.com/2012/08/03/disable-sleep-mac-caffeinate-command/) when syncing my device (if transferring a lot of data)
It solved my issue on my iPhone and iPad
Note: that to reduce the "Other Data" do a restore of the software (restore Iphone, ipod or ipad... the top right button), then a restore of a backup.  Then let it sync with the cafeinate or cafeine app running.
    cheers!
