Photos in the wrong place how to move to the right place

I came back from vacation and attached my camera to get my photos to iphoto 6.02
I gave it a roll name and a description and downloaded the photos.
I disconnected the camera.
For some reason all my photos were placed in 2004 and there was no album created using the description.
So... how do I move the photos from 2004 to 2006 leaving 2004 empty and how do I create an album for my 2006 vacation pictures?

Hi Sargenie,
The date that is set on the camera could be wrong. Open your camera settings and check them to make sure.
If you view your library by rolls (View>by film rolls), the all the photos should be in a roll with the name you gave it.
Click on the title of the roll to select all the photos
Go to Photos>batch change
Put in the correct date
The photos should now end up in the 2006 folder (I hope)
To make an album, click on the roll title to highlight the photos in the roll
Go to File>new album from selection
Name the album

  • How to move Left and Right audio components

At a performance, there was a delay between what my camera recorded from a soundboard on the left track and what it recorded from a shotgun mic on the right track.
I want to move each track (Right and Left) independent of each other using FCP 10.1.2
So far I have successfully changed the audio from Stereo to Dual Mono and I have Expanded Audio Components.
I am not able to move either track.  No matter wether position or arrow is selected I looks like a range selection over the track and it will not move.
Any help would be greatly apreciated!

Yes, that screen shot of your Cam5 video and its right and left audio being staggered is exactly what Im trying to do.  Im sorry I have not been able to describe this better.
It was the “Detach Audio” option that was giving the messy appearance.
This time I only made two adjustments done in the Timeline.
    I followed these two steps:
         1.  I select the clip on the Timeline and chose “Expand audio components”
         2.  Then selected the video clip again and chose “Dual Mono”
Here is a screen shot of what it looks like now:
Just like before, I can manipulate the audio levels but when I attempt to drag either audio a box is drawn over the clip that looks like the “range select” tool.  This happens when I have either arrow or position is selected.  Nothing can be moved.  I tried these two basic steps on my other computer using an older version of FCPX and get the same result.
The work around that I described above allowed me to finish this project by my deadline but this is still something I would like to learn since it’s a pretty basic function of FCP that I need to be able to do a lot.
Thank you Tom for your continued help and guidance.

  • Photos not the right way round

I imported loads of photos from my digital camera onto my mac, then flipped them the right way in preview.
I've just imported them to iphoto, and they all seem the right way up but when uploading to my webspace or emailing, although they look like they are the right way up, they are infact still landscape when they should be portrait... any thoughts why?!

You can export them to the Desktop and then reimport. The new file will be naturally oriented correctly and should work in any application OK. You can check it out by seeing if there's been a subfolder created in the Modified folder that is the same name as the one in the Originals folder. There should not be one. Once reimported you can delete the first set. You can make it easier by assembling them into a single roll and delete from within iPhoto.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • Has photoshop started using EXIF orientation to display photos with the right rotation?

Has photoshop updated recently and started using EXIF orientation to display photographs with the right rotation?
I thought in the past it ignored the EXIF orientation, but it seems like it is now using it. Does anyone know if you can tell it not to use this information when displaying the image on the screen?
    Please help!!

Duh! My apologize for not providing the important details.
The system model I have tested on:
    Mac Pro Early 2009
    2.66Ghz 10GB Memory
Dual NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512MB Cards (original cards)
    Tested on 10.7.4-10.7.5, 10.8.2
Crash Report can be located here:
http://pastebin.com/aeZ2kYvw  (this was using version 10.7.4)
It's just odd since last year we've been using this setup fine with v13.0 and now with v.13.0.3 it doesn't work. The reason for our two independent video cards is so that one card sends video to the monitor screen of the teacher, the second card sends a video signal that can be switched to either a projector or 8 lcd monitors in the lab (we've invested a lot of video infrastructure for this lab). When we tested using a single card for both outputs we would get an odd interlace horizontal thin bar that would go top to bottom ever so slowly. This would appear either when looking at video or when moving windows around. Doing the dual video cards solved that issue for us and have been using the setup since 2009.

  • Re: Question posted in wrong forum - How to move ?

I just realised that I posted a question in the wrong forum. Is there a way that I can move it, or should I rewrite it in the correct forum ?
    Thank you

I think only the moderator would be able to move a thread.
Ive got only one option available: create a post I think youve got also only this one option.

  • Windows 7 in Wrong Partition-How to Move?

I just downloaded Windows 7 to my Mac-Mini,mid-2007 edition. (Parallels)
    I have 2 partitions,HD 1 (39GB) ,which has OS-X 10.7.5, and a vacant partition,Recovery HD 2 (40GB).
Unfortunately,Windows 7 went into HD1 and has filled up that partition, sharing space with OS-X 10.7.5.
How can I move Windows 7 to Recovery HD2 or to a 64GB flash drive and leave OS-X 10.7.5 in HD1? And make Windows bootable from Recovery HD2 or said flash drive?
I still have Parallels dmg file on my desktop along with the Windows 7 iso file.
    Thanks!

If you used Parallels to install Windows this has nothing to do with Boot Camp. Windows is just contained in a file not a partition. When you run Parallels you identify where to store the file.
You should probably visit the Prallels site and forums about this since it is their product you are asking about.

  • How do you get your photos in the right order?

On screen, the photos are in the correct order.  I have named them in numerical order i.e. trip1, trip 2, etc..  But when I run a slideshow or put them on a CD/DVD they are all out of order.  Any ideas?

Manahanb, which program are you using to make the slideshow and which OS?
When requesting help, you should always include the make/model of the computer and/or monitor. This information is necessary for us to review the specifications of the them.

  • The Grid Thumbnail view of my files does not show a continuous sequence of my photos.  For instance if I am viewing them at the reduced size of a 3x7 grid, there are 3 columns of photos to the right that do not show.  That is the grid is 3x10 but only 3x7

Below are 2 screen shots of the Grid Thumbnails.  If you compare the 2nd to the first you will notice that there are several pictures showing in the second view that do not show in the first.  That is they are cut off.  How can I adjust the viewing so the preview shows all the photos with none being cut off?
    Thanks, McGue

I do backup with iCloud.  I can't wait until the new iMac is available so that I can once again have my files in more than 1 location without needing to rely solely on the cloud.
I also rely on iTunes and my MacBook and Time Machine as well as backing up to iCloud. I know many users know have gone totally PC free, but I chose to use iCloud merely as my third backup.
I assume that the restore would result in my ability to open Pages and Numbers and fix the problem with deleting apps, but this would also mean that if my Numbers documents still exist solely within the app and are just not on iCloud for some reason that they would be gone forever.  Is that right?
In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

  • Preview and Finder showing photos with the right rotation, once imported to iPhoto its lost

    Hi,
I'm geting nuts with this issue.
For my own camera all works fine. 90° rotated pics show up in Finder, Preview and iPhoto correctly. Landscape is landscape, portrait is portrait.
Now I got photos shared (using Dropbox) from a friends camera. Finder and Preview also show landscape and portraits correctly rotated.
But, once I import them (by drag&drop from the Finder) into iPhoto, all portrait photos are landscape now and need to be rotated 90°. This is the same for Thumbnails, full screen and even slideshow.
The only difference when importing those photos is, for my own I use the import out of iPhoto (by plugging the SD directly to the Mac), the other photos are imported from the Finder with drag&drop.
BTW, the rotation information for all photos are correct in Preview (1 for normal photos, 8 or 6 for 90° rotated).
So what is the problem here? I'm going nuts.
    Thanks in advance.
    Monty

    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
    2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.

  • How can I move someone's hair from one photo to another and place it on another person? I have gone through every instructional video you have and have not been able to master this

How can I move someone's hair from one photo to another and place it on another person? I have gone through every instructional video you have and have not been able to master this

Open picture B, the one you wish to select the hair from to add to the picture.
Use one of the selection tools, e.g. selection brush, lasso tool, to select the hair. You will see an outline ("marching ants") once the selection is complete
Go to Edit menu>copy to copy the hair to the clipboard
Open picture A, then go to Edit>paste
Use the move tool to position the hair from picture B.
In the layers palette you should see picture A as the background layer, and the hair (B) on a separate layer.

  • IPhoto - My iPhoto is not responding. When I click on iPhoto I get a never ending spinning beachball.  I almost think it is looking in the wrong place for the pictures.  How do I redirect it back to the Mac hard drive?

My iPhoto is not responding.  Whenever I click on the iPhoto icon I get a twirling beachball.  It is as if the machine is looking in the wrong place for the photos.  How can I see where the machine is looking to find out if this is really the problem.  How can I see the path?

Try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If it doesn't then the problem lies with your current library.
If that's the case  Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I have several users in an exchange environment who cannot email a photo from the iPhone.  When the click on Email Photo, they are prompted to configure a mail account even though there is already an exchange account in place.  How do I remediate this?  Not all of the users in our environment have this issue.  If the users having this issue, install a secondary email account, Gmail, Hotmail, etc, then they can send through those accounts.  Why would the exchange account not be seen to send photos?

Sounds like it worked until the policies associated with the account that are creating the problem were fully pushed down.
Try setting up a new (test) Exhange account and see if it behaves the same way on the phone (after removing the problem account from the phone, of course).

  • I have a large number of photos imported into iPhoto with the dates wrong.  How can I adjust multiple photos (with varying dates) to the same, correct, date?

I have a large number of photos imported into iPhoto with the dates wrong.  How can I adjust multiple photos (with varying dates) to the same, correct, date?

If I understand you correctly, when you enter a date in the Adjust Date and Time window, the picture does not update with the date you enter.  If that is the case then something is wrong with iPhoto or your perhaps your library.
How large a date change are you putting in?  iPhoto currently has an issue with date changes beyond about 60 years at a time.  If the difference between the current date on the image and the date you are entering is beyond that range that may explain why this is not working.
If that is not the case:
Remove the following to the trash and restart the computer and try again:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.iphoto
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iPhoto (There may be more than one. Remove them all.)
---NOTE: to get to the "home > library" hold down option on the keyboard and click on "Go" > "Library" while in the Finder.
    Let me know the results.
