  • IOS 6.0.1 iMsg Photo not sending

I was so happy when i got another iPod touch in July, after the 4th Gen one i got for christmas got stolen in January.
I have the same exact one i did, 4th Gen 32gig iPod touch. I upgraded to iOS 6 right after it came out, not even thinking about the fact that it could have bugs.
I tried to message my fiance on iMsg, like i always have before, and it wouldn't work properly.
It wouldn't send msgs for a few hours. It randomly started working again but would not send photos.
He also uses a 4th Gen iPod touch but with iOS 5.0.1.
I updated to iOS 6.0.1 today, WISHING on a million stars, that possibly the bug would be fixed because i use iMsg quite frequently, but of course it wasn't fixed.
Can someone atleast tell me WHY it is not sending?
Regular messages are sending fine through iMsg, and i can get pictures from him, i just can't send photos (Taken with ipod and taken off web)

Wow I thought it was just me... I am having the exact same problem with my 8GB iPod touch 4g. I can still send individual messages through iMessage but photos and video no. It's really frustrating I've tried all of the different methods suggested ( restarting, closing iMessage in the multitask, resetting network settings.. Etc) but nothing has worked. At first I thought that maybe it was this way because I hadn't updated to the newer iOS6.0.1 (I really did not want to after the previous update took away my YouTube and added passbook, but now I'm okay with the new app for YouTube and have just moved passbook to the side.) Even after the update it still was not working so I'm temporarily giving it a rest. If you find out any info on why this is happening please tell me. Thanks :)

  • Photos not sending using imessage on iPhone 6 plus

When I try to send photos using iMessage over wifi on my new iphone 6 plus they rarely send. The sending bar slowly goes to about 95% and then freezes. Very very occasionally (1 in 20) they send but take a good hour. Sending the same photo to the same person on my iPad air is so easy and the pic goes in the blink of an eye. This is so frustrating because one of the main uses for my phone is chatting and Sending pics.
I Have tried resetting the phone, the network (although if its sending on the iPad it can't be the network), ive toggled iMessage on and off, ive tried everything I've seen on the forums. I have mms / 4g turned off when at home so that I'm not using data when I have my wifi. Text messages are sending fine. It's just picture messages. I am on iOS 8.1. I have super fast wifi so that isn't the issue.
Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Apologies if this question has been posed elsewhere. I couldn't find the same issue.
    Thanks

Just solved this issue by turning iMessage off in the Settings app, waiting a few seconds, and turning it back on.

  • Photos not sending through iMessage when on WiFi?

Searched for an answer for this but so far no luck - sorry if this has already been solved elsewhere.
I have an iPhone 4S running iOS6 (although I was having this issue pre-iOS6). My iPhone sends iMessages, so long as they are text, fine, delivers read receipts, everything fine when I'm on WiFi. It used to send photos on all the WiFi connections I typically use (home, campus, favorite coffee shop, etc.) but about a week prior to iOS 6 it decided it would no longer send photos via iMessage. When I want to send a photo I have to turn off my wireless, and send the photo on data. Then I turn wireless right back on and resume sending texts via iMessage. I have no issues with other WiFi functions - web browsing, etc. is unaffected.
SMS and MMS are on. My iMessaging is directly linked to my phone number, not my Apple ID, if that makes a difference?
Hoping someone can help with this, especially since it appears its not my wireless signal thats the problem as my iPhone has decided to do this over multiple different wireless signals it used to not have an issue with..

No, my AppleID is only linked to my iPhone and my MacBook Pro (which does not have messages installed).
I am on the Telus network.
I'm really really disappointed in apple. Why would I shell out cash for an iPhone 5 when the operating system doesn't work properly on my current phone? In addition to this iMessage issue other issues I'm facing include abbreviated texts (ie typing "brb" and having my phone correct it to "be right back") don't work anymore, despite me checking to make sure they hadn't been erased during updates; and now today my iPhone decided to do this great trick where it SAYS its connected to my wifi, displays the blue check mark, but remains connected to 3G in the upper status bar. Turning wifi off and on as well as restarting the phone does not fix this.
Come on apple. You've basically secured the fact that this will be my last apple purchase. Funny that my friends with androids and windows phones never have any problems, isn't it?

  • Photos not sending over wifi

This happened before to me, and I forgot how I fixed it, so...if I try to send a picture by text through wifi, it does not go through. I have to take my phone off wifi in order for the picture to go through. Not sure if this applies to email. And its not only my wifi at home, its the wifi at work too. Whats the fix?

  • Why is iMessage taking my incoming emails and then not making them available for my PC to get?  Why can I not send a text msg with photos when iMessage is turned off (but MMS is still on).

    Apple is great!
Why is iMessage taking my incoming emails and then not making them available for my PC to get?  Why can I not send a text msg with photos when iMessage is turned off (but MMS is still on).
I compose an iMessage with the destination as my email address and I attach 2 photos I want on my PC.  I send them several times from my iPhone 5C but they never arrive. I look at my ipad later and realize that it's iMessage app is getting ( and swallowing) these emails. I then turn the ipad off.  Still can't get the photos through because iphone is now getting them on it's iMessage.  I turn off the iMessage feature and try to send photos from text msging.  Phone tells me it can't send photos unless iMessage it turned on.  What happened to regular MMS text messaging?  I go and try to send photos as an email attachment and see that there is no option to attach from the stupid email program.  I look up online to learn about the brave new world of apple attachments and send them.
Why is iMessage taking my incoming emails and then not making them available for my PC to get?
The email program on my iphone is not configured to remove messages from the server.
If iMessage is turned off I don't have the issue.
Why can I not send a text msg with photos when iMessage is turned off (but MMS is still on).

Did not work. I've selected iMessage to ON and left it. After a few hours I recieved a message "activation unsuccessful. Turn on iMessage to try again". This has been going on for the past 3 days.

  • Can I send an E-Mail with photo (not as an attachment)?

I would like to send an E-Mail with a small photo (not as an attachment) to someone who is reluctant to open attachments. Can I do this and how??
    Thank you
    tch

If you insert an image into the body, it will still be 'attached', even though it won't be listed as an attachment in the usual way. Another option is to upload the photo to your personal storage space such as OneDrive or Google Drive, and then email the link to the image. The image can then be displayed in a web browser. If you don't have a storage space, there are plenty of free image-hosting services.

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try the following:
*Restart the operating system in '''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_mode safe mode with Networking]'''. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode Windows 8], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 Windows 7], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-vista Windows Vista], [http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true" Windows XP], [http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564 OSX]
; If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.

  • Sending photos from iphone ios 7 to my email: not sending as attachment thumbnails WTH?

    hi all,
i was wondering if anyone can provide a solution for me with this peculier issue. normally if i select a few photos to send to my email client (gmail) they will come in as attatchment that i can download to my desktop or whereever. since updating to 7, when i send a photo to myself it shows the entire photo and not the thumbnail preview you would normally see in gmail.
when i send a photos from my macbook to my gmail it works fine (showing a thumbnail to download) this is not the case when sending from my iphone.
am i missing a setting? any and all help would be appreciated. thanks!

I'll keep researching, but I'm not finding anything at the moment and I am unable to reproduce it.  If you really want to dive deep into it, you can try setting up or using a different gmail account (even if its just for testing) on your iPhone and see if that does the same thing. If so, it may be the iPhone to whatever extend that is.
If a test gmail account does not have the issue, try deleting and readding your real gmail and see if that fixes it.
Worst case scenario you can always back up your iPhone, erase and set it up as new and test it with just that account.  If it continues at that point and its only for that account, I would be pointed at gmail and some interpretation of the iOS version of images specific to your account and or iPhone.  Of course you would then restore from your backup to get back to where you were.
These steps may not resolve your issue, but they will certainly help you isolate where the issue lies as there is no setting in any iOS device that would change how iOS Mail sends images... On that note, have you tried downloading the Gmail App and trying it from there?
Good luck and let us know how it goes in the end jsut in case someone else has this issue or has more insight.

  • Can not send photos by email using iphoto

hello ...I can not send any photos using iphoto as i have changed my email address,  I can not change it on the email ..as a box comes up saying ...Email server did'nt recognize user name/password.  ??? where do I change  my old Email to my new one  it is getting very frustrating,   please help  Marie

Not sure what you tried but the starting point would be:
Mail>Preferences>Accounts tab>Click on the + sign to add an account. From the first screen you are presented with, providing the email address and password you enter is correct, Mail will try and auto configure your account. If it can't do it on its own you'll need to input extra information from your ISP - pop or imap server address, smtp server address, authentication info, etc.
Once the email account is up and running, to directly email from iPhoto go to iPhoto>Preferences>General tab and select Mail from the drop down menu against 'Email photos using...'.
To email a photo from within iPhoto '11, select a photo, click on the 'share' button, bottom right of the screen and select 'email'.

  • Imessage photos not working can send text

    Hello,
I have an ipad 2 which I have mainly for work. It was worked great but today I noticed I can no longer send photos via imessanger. I have looked through the forums and no solutions. I have tried killing all tasks, restarting, removing contacts and adding again, removing my imessage account and reactivating.  The photo says sending at the top and then says the message was delievered but my co workers do not get the message. I have had them try restarting there ipads and still nothing. I really don't want to wipe it and start over again. if you have had this issue please feel free to post.

    Hello Lina D,
Thanks for the question. Based on what you stated, it seems like you are not recieving MMS messages. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

  • Why can I not send a photo by e-mail?

I can not send a photo by e-mail.  I have tried every thing.  What else can I do?

    I did all that.
Well ....... good. And those watching over your shoulder can easily tell just what's going on. The rest of us have to work at a disadvantage.
    So, try this:
    a.  Say exactly what you are tying to do (we know that .... send photos in email)
    b.  Say exactly how you are trying to do it
    c.  Describe what you expect to happen or to see when you do it that way
    d.  Describe, completely, what happens instead, including any error messages
    e.  Give a complete summary of what you've read, what resources you've accessed, and what troubleshooting steps you have already tried.
If you'd done that to start with you'd already have answers targeted to your specific problem. The more of it you do the better others can see what's going on and what the problems and solutions might be.

  • Email via Photo App in IOS (iPhone) is not send

    All,
My wife is using a iPhone 4 with 6.1.1 and she is having problems with sending an email (with photo) via the default photo app. The emals are not send at all. When sending a email via the email app emails are send normal.
Anybody any idea what can be wrong I have no clue.
    Regards,
    Niels

hi - it sounds like it might the settings for the email account
you don't say what email she has - is it hotmail/yahoo etc??
    double check settings/Mail etc
i had the same problem with the ipad email and transpired the settings were wrong for my account, also check that WiFi is on as well just in case under the General settings
failing that, you could try a specific email app like altamail
