Photoshop batch unavailable in Bridge

Fo some reason, when I click Tools, Phototshop and then Batch are not an option anymore. Batch rename, version cue, etc. are available but Photoshop is not available.
Actions are selected in photoshop, so I'm not sure what is going on.  Searched the web to no avail.  Any ideas?

Actually it is CS2.  Sorry for leaving that out.  Can you point me
to the startup scripts (if applicable to CS2).
Thanks.

  • No Batch menu in Bridge (Photoshop CS6)

I've installed and reinstalled Photoshop CS6 and but continue to have no Photoshop/Batch menu in Bridge as I did in CS5.
Windows 7. CS6 is an upgrade.  I've been living with it as I see a lot of others have the same problem with no answer that I can find.
    Is there a solution???
    Thanks,
    Dave

I'm having the reverse problem.  CS6 Bridge sees all the stuff under Tools/photoshop:
But CS5 Bridge does not.   So looking into it a bit I see the scripts directory here:
    c:/Users/harry/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Bridge CS5\Startup Scripts
    Is empty.
    Preferences/Startup Scripts shows:
    [X] Adobe After effects CS5
    [X] Adobe Bridge CS5
    [X] Adobe Device Central CS5
    [X] Adobe Output Module
And there appears to be no way (In that dialog screen) to add any

    However here:
    c:/Users/harry/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Bridge CS6
There is nothing under the directory:
    c:/Users/harry/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Bridge CS6\Startup Scripts\
and yet CS6 apparently sees scripts somewhere since it has a fair number of entries at Tools/photoshop, including the Batch image processor.
At at Preferences/Startup Scripts there is an extensive list of scripts listed.
Is there a way to make CS5 bridge See the scirpts for Photoshop CS6? Or at least to send a selected bunch of files to PS CS6 Image processor?

  • How come CS4 Bridge does not offer Photoshop batch operations?

I have had tons of problems with CS4 on my desktop PC but seem to have most of them resolved with a new video card and updated driver except this one.  If it matters I'm running Windows XP service pack 3, 4gb of RAM of which 3.4 is available.  It has an 2.67 GHz Intel Core2Duo cpu.
While in Bridge, under the "tools" menu, there no longer appears an option for batch operations such as I had with CS3.  In CS3 it was the bottom option of all those listed.  The only batch operation offered in CS4 is batch rename.  I want to run Photoshop actions on multiple images selected in Bridge but cannot since this option is not being offered.
I have deleted preferences and rebuilt them several times, and uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop itself so many times that the CD is almost worn out.  I have also upgraded CS4 to the latest upgrade on the Adobe site, 11.0.1.
I've done everything I can find to do but still not fixed.  Anybody out there know the answer?  This has not been a smooth transition and is very frustrating.
    Thanks

OK, let's see how good you REALLY are...here's a new one.  Well actually not
a new one, but it went away for so long I thought all the other things I've
done corrected it (CS4 update and video driver update).  It's back with a
    vengeance.
The brush tool stops working for no apparent reason.  If I shut down
Photoshop and restart, it works.  As long as I'm working on an image, it
works.  Sometimes it will continue to work for several images.  Other times
it will not work on the very next image opened.  Earlier today it worked
fine for multiple images until I printed some, then stopped.  I thought it
had something to do with printing so I shut down, restarted and worked
without making any prints.  Again worked OK for a while and then stopped.
This is true for all brush type tools...paintbrush, clone, healing, etc.  It
seemed like if I opened files directly from Photoshop instead of via bridge
that I had more success but now this evening it will only allow me to work
on a single image.  If I close an image and open a new one, no brush
function no matter how I open it.   This is just the way it acted up before
but then went dormant as I noted above.
There is no pattern or repeatability to it that can help me home in.  By
that I mean, tomorrow it may indeed work fine for hours and then go wacky
again or it may go wacky on the first image.  I thought it may have been a
RAM or some other cumulative type problem but this is shot down by the fact
that it will at times stop working immediately while other times work for a
    long time.
I'm at the point where the only thing I can think of is it must be the
computer.  I installed CS4 on an old clunky laptop and it works fine.  I
installed the 30 day free version on this e-mail computer just as a test and
again it worked fine.  On my super duper photo editing PC, it just won't go.
I didn't realize that I'd have to add the cost of a new computer into the
cost of upgrading to CS4 because the computer is not that old and definitely
not a clunker as noted in my original post.  I'm already out about $200 for
two new video cards and still no luck.
    Any ideas?

  • Bridge CC Tools - Photoshop - Batch does not work in Photoshop CC 2014.

in Bridge CC Tools - Photoshop - Batch does not work in Photoshop CC 2014. At first I didn't even see the option but I reinstalled Photoshop CC and now I see the menu option but when I try it there is a message that I need to use Photoshop CC. So I open Photoshop CC and the same thing happens? I can't seem to make it work.

  • Problem with Bridge CS5 and Tools Photoshop Batch

When I select several images in Bridge CS5 and go to Tool>Photoshop>Batch and try an run an Action, I receive an error message asking for the Install disk. Bridge at that point freezes until I put in the install disk and then it runs the batch action fine.
This is very annoying as I always have to have the disk in my DVD Drive.
    Any points would be welcomed.
    Thanks,

Go to preferences/startup scripts and make sure there is a check mark for Bridge and Photoshop scripts.

  • Bridge menu item tools photoshop batch is not present in CS4

I recently installed CS4 on an iMac running OS 10.5.7.  I have a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, with 4 GB of ram.  The hard drive is 1 Terrabyte.
In CS3 I could invoke my photoshop actions from bridge.  No such luck here.  I'm finding references to tools>photoshop>batch, but am at a loss as to why I don't see this option in my copy of Bridge.
Online help isn't helping or I'm not using the correct search criteria.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  I've attached a screen grab of the menu list.

  • Photoshop- Batch tool missing in Bridge?

My Photoshop-> Batch is missing from the bridge tools menu?  And when I go into Photoshop to automate->Batch I can't choose Bridge as a source. It is there, but it is not in bold(i.e.cannot be selected.)
I have checked my Bridge->Preferences-> Start up script, and all Photoshop options are checked there. I have also tried enabling them agin, and then restarting Bridge, and resetting Bridge Preferences, still  nothing.  I also tried to delete plist files in my library- I just deleted the bridge one- but I'm not sure what that really does, in any case, it didn't work.
I used to work. Any suggestions??

But my problem is that in Bridge, all I have under the tools menu is cache, the Photoshop->Batch option isn't there anymore.
In that case, something is wrong with your install. Only thing I can offer is to do an uninstall and a fresh install.

  • Bridge CS6 Photoshop Batch tool to open Photoshop CC

I have both CS6 and CC installed
I'm having the issue in Bridge CS6 that when I want to do a batch function through Tool > Photoshop > Batch this opens Photoshop CS6 and not Photoshop CC which i'd prefer it open. Is there any way to set this.
The question of me will be why I don't use Bridge CC. Unfortunately I am locked into having to use InDesign CS6 for my work and use a shortcut to reveal images in Bridge (which will only reveal on Bridge CS6), hence why I'm then forced to use Bridge 6 over Bridge CC....
So I suppose if I worked out the indesign issue i twould be ok, but I have a feeling i'll have more luck with a solution for Bridge opening a version of photoshop than solving the indesign issue.
    Thanks.

Okay... but I'm using Bridge CC and when I use Tools> Photoshop > Batch it opens the files in Photoshop CS6.
How do I get Bridge CC to open images in Photoshop CC?
(Both versions of Photoshop are loaded on my computer.)

  • Bridge photoshop batch problem

    Hi there,
After upgrading to Photoshop CS4 from CS3 (new install), I am having a problem with running Photoshop batch from bridge.
I have actions that work fine when run from Photoshop but fail when run from bridge.
I don't seem to be able to run any Photoshop actions from bridge without a failure.
    The error messages include:
    "JavaScript code was missing"
"The command 'Pixel Genius PhotoKit Capture Sharpener Expert' is not currently available"
As well as other seemingly random "the command .... is not currently available".
I am running Vista 64 bit.
If anyone has any ideas - I would appreciate them.
    Thanks,
    Richard.

    Hi there again,
    An update to this problem.
The problem appears to be with Bridge-Photoshop communication.
I select images in bridge, choose Tools->Photoshop->Batch.  Photoshop opens and I select the Action to run and click OK.  At this point, if Photoshop had no image already loaded then the Action fails because there is no image, ie. the selected images from Bridge are not opened in Photoshop.  The error messages are consistent with having no image loaded to run the various action tasks on.
If Photoshop already had an image loaded, then it proceeds to run the Action, once for the number of images I first selected in Bridge, but on the image that was already loaded - not on the images selected in Bridge.
I have deinstalled and reinstalled Photoshop and all its updates with no change.  Any ideas at all would be appreciated.
BTW Image Processor works ok when invoked from Bridge.
    Tks,
    Richard.

  • Bridge cc / Tools menu / photoshop submenu unavailable!

I Have downloaded the new Photoshop CC 2014 and updated to Bridge CC. I am no longer able to run automated tasks from Bridge in Photoshop because the "photoshop" submenu is no longer available under tools… unistalling en reinstalling brings no avail. I'm now back to Photoshop CS6 and Bridge CS6… I just would like to know: Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug that hopefully will soon get fixed?

Today, I downloaded Photoshop cc 2014 and Bridge cc again and now everything is running fine. Still wondering what went wrong first time but happy with problem solved!

  • Photoshop batch processing missing from menu

    Hi everyone:
I'm having a terrible time today trying to process the 3500 images I've got. I set up an action to process them, but I can't figure out how to link them to be used through Bridge. I'm running Bridge CS5 with PS CS4, and I'm used to going to Tools->Photoshop->Batch. It's missing entirely from the menu.
I did a bunch of research and found that this issue likely has something to do with the Startup Scripts. So I checked those, and Photoshop is missing from the options. I can't find where that script right reside, as the folder the scripts are supposed to live in appears to be empty (I do have Adobe Bridge CS5 and InDesign CS5 as options, though the script folder itself is empty).
If it's a simple matter of installing the appropriate script, where might I find it? And if not, how can I solve the problem?

If it's a simple matter of installing the appropriate script, where might I
find it? And if not, how can I solve the problem?
By default they are installed in the library at root level ( Mac OS:
    //Library/Application Support/Adobe/Startup Scripts CS4/Adobe Photoshop/)
but I have no experience with - nor would I recommend - the use of CS5
    Bridge with PSCS4.
If you don't have installed PSCS5 for whatever reason your fastest way would
be to start Bridge CS4. Let the folder with the files cache first and use
that Bridge version with PSCS4 to perform your batch. BTW, you can save and
export the actions from PSCS4 as a set and import them again in PSCS5.
And of course you could also open the batch in PS itself like we used to do
in the past before Bridge. PS/File/Automate/Batch and choose the folder you
want to apply the batch in.

  • No option to Batch Process in Bridge CS5

Usually in Bridge I would go to Tools> Photoshop> Batch. But instead I am seeing Tools> Process Collections in Photoshop.
Even if I go into photoshop to batch process via Bridge, the option for Bridge is greyed out and I can't select it.
    I am on Windows 7, 64 bit.
    Please help.

You sir, are a GENIUS! I salute you.

  • Cannot run batch directly from Bridge

    Hi,
I often work from Bridge and use the TOOLS>PHOTOSHOP>BATCH or TOOLS>PHOTOSHOP>LOAD FILES INTO PHOTOSHOP LAYERS
This works well except it has just stopped working for no apparent reason. When I try any of the commands under TOOLS>PHOTOSHOP, photoshop will launch or become active but then just sit there doing nothing.
This has thrown a HUGH spanner in my workflow and is driving me nuts.
I have tried deleting Bridge/photoshop prefs etc but nothing seems to help.
I'm guessing it has something to do with Bridge startup scripts or something.
I can batch via the Photoshop Automate menu but this is nowhere as efficient for me - I then have to hunt for the files etc.
Weird how it did work then not. The only change I made was installing a new version of ACR, but that was a week or so ago.
    PLEASE HELP!!!!!
    Thanks.

    SOLVED!
I renamed the folder containing my files and it now works. As far as I can tell there was something corrupt in the folder name - it was originally COPY>PASTed from an email, so maybe there was a hidden character or something else weird that confused Photoshop when it tried to run the script.
    Weird.

  • No Batch function in Bridge Cs4

Anyone encountering this problem? Batch or Photomerge selected from Bridge produces a blank page in Photoshop. Nothing happens. I select images in Bridge then Tools/Photoshop/Batch with the intention of running an Action but the process stops dead with a blank Photoshop page. Same with Photomerge. My Actions work from Photoshop and so does Photomerge. Adobe Help suggested reinstalling Bridge, which I did. Both programs are up to date.
    Any solutions?

The other plist file is from Bridge CS2 (CS had the filebrowser, in CS2 the
first version of Bridge appeared, hence the difference in versionnumbers)
If you don't use CS you can delete it safely but if you have not installed
it on your new system the install procedure has gone wrong, maybe you copied
    the user library ?
However if a new user is the solution you can first try to use an archive
    and install for your system.
This is an option when you have restarted your Mac from the install disk and
choose the Archive and Install option.
It is recommended that you first create a back up for your important files
but being a wise person you already have done so...
The archive and install is taking you about 1 hour of work including the use
of software-update and provides you with a new and fresh user.
It sure is worth a try, the other option would be to reinstall from scratch
(BTW, reinstalling CS without uninstall and refreshing preferences and
deleting plist files is not the best solution when in trouble)
I logged on as another user and the operation does work as it should!
I then followed your suggestions, resetting both PS and Bridge and deleting
    the com.adobe.bridge3.plist.
I've also checked and repaired permissions on my startup disc.
I had also deinstalled and reinstalled Photoshop CS4 just the day before...
Still the operation won't work however.
There's another .plist above the one I deleted: com.adobe.bridge.plist.
Should I delete that one as well?

  • Running Batch Actions in Bridge causes PS's Preferences window to open repeatedly

I just upgraded to CC at work, and ever since I've had a problem when I batch run Photoshop Actions from Bridge.
I have some simple Actions set up in PS to do some conversions for large batches of images (convert to RGB, resize, change DPI, etc.). But when I run them from Bridge like I always have, it causes Photoshop to open the Preferences window to the "Units & Rulers" tab. And that, unfortunately, pauses the batch conversion until I close the Preferences window. This happens at least once per file, but usually twice. Pretty annoying.
I never had this problem when I was using CS6, but just in case there was some sort of incompatibility with my old Actions, I remade one of them in CC, but the Preferences window still pops up.
This only happens when I run Batch Actions from Bridge. When I run the Action on a single file from PS, it works fine.
Any ideas? Maybe I've found a new bug?
    Thanks!

BTW, I was able to get around this problem by opening all the files I wanted to run the Action on using Bridge, then manually triggering the Batch dialog via Photoshop and using the 'Source: Opened Files' option:
Using this system, I didn't get any errors. Luckily, I also didn't have a huge number of files. If I did, I'd probably have to copy them all into a temp folder using Bridge, then run using 'Source: Folder'. Definitely a pain when they are all right there in Bridge ready to be batched.
