Photoshop CC 2014 crash when opening or creating new files when running with Cintiq 13HD.

I have a problem where Photoshop CC 2014 crashes when trying to open or create a new file while the Photoshop window is being displayed on my Cintiq 13HD.
When Photoshop is being displayed on my main monitor it doesn't crash.
I'm running Windows 7 (64 bit) and have updated my graphics and wacom drivers to their latest versions and Photoshop is completely up to date. (I'm running the 30-day free trial)
Here's the event log of the crash:

As you can already see, your ATI/AMD video card drriver is crashing.
Update the driver from AMD's website to pick up all the bug fixes you are missing.

  • Illustrator CC(2014) does not open or create new file in Window 8.1 Pro

    My illustrator can launch but once I tried to create a new file it would freeze and will not respond anymore.
    I also tried to open existing illustrator files it just create a blank white illustrator window and does not respond afterwards as well.
    I tried to reinstall the illustrator for times to fix to issue but it doesnt work.
    All the other applications (photoshop/indesign...) work perfectly, but obviously there is a bug in illustrator...
    Have any other people experienced similar issue and know how to fix it??

    Did you uninstall then used the Cleaner tool before reinstalling?
    Is a printer connected? Is the driver up to date? Printer turned on?
    Do you have any third party plugins installed?
    A graphic tablet?
    Any other hardware?

    Have you already tried setting up a new user account (Admin) and launching from that one?

  • Illustrator crashes on open or create new file

    Illustrator CS4 (on Mac 10.5.8) crashes every time I try to create a new file or open an existing AI file.
    I've read a number of threads on here, related to similar problems, and did the following (in this order):
    deleted the font cache  --> didn't help
    resolved duplicate fonts  --> didn't help
    deleted the Illustrator preferences folder/files  --> didn't help
    created a new user account and opened Illustrator  --> Illustrator WORKS
    Illustrator seems to work just fine in the new user account I created, yay!  But, I want it to work in my user account.
    Are there preferences, settings, files, applications I need to check to resolve the issue in my account?  Any particular place I should start?
    Thanks for any feedback!

    Photoshop CS6 cannot open or create new file.  This happened after running CCleaner

    Hi, I've been asked to join this discussion. CCleaner is a nice tool, but if you used the Registry Cleaner that came with it, it might have done something to Photoshop's registry entries. There is that danger in using them.
    One thing CCleaner does is leave a backup of the registry, or you can use Windows System Restore to go to that point before you ran the Cleaner. Let's go with System Restore. Review the instructions.
    System Restore - Microsoft Windows
    If you suspect a virus, I'd like to direct you here http://bleepingcomputer.com/
    That would be the "Am I infected?" forum.
    They have the tools, you run them, and copy and paste the logs that are generated. They are very good at this, but it is super important you follow directions and don't leave until the process is completed.

  • Illustrator CC crashes on opening or creating a file

    Out of the blue Illustrator CC has decided to crash immediately on trying to open or create a file.
    I am on a 64 bit windows 7 machine.

    verbalmugging,
    Here is the usual list (including the usual suspects in Item 7 in the link in Step 5)) that Monika refers to (the non destructive preference resetting is Step 4):
    You may try the following (you may have tried/done some of them already) and see whether it helps (the following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file; 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences):
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder Other options (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

    Edit: Hi Monika. Still autumn there, too?

  • Photoshop CC 2014 crashes after opening

    Photoshop CC 2014 has suddenly starting crashing shortly after the programme loads.  I have spoken to Adobe who spent ages remotely trying to solve the problem and they say it's a permission issue even though I have repaired permissions.  Interesting if I create a new admin user and log in to that account Photoshop opens fine.  Here's the message I get after the crash - any ideas or solutions greatly received!

    I got a Macbook Pro, updated all apple software to lastest version.
    Installed Photoshop CS as i did in PowerPC, and it cannont create a new file after finishing installation!. The Imageready is no problem but it cannot transfer the file to PS neither.
    the error message, "Photoshop cannot complete the required action DUE TO PROGRAM ERROR"
    I tried to installed the PS CS2, tryout. same problem!
    Please HELP!
    Macbook Pro 15"   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Not sure what's happening there, but I've been running Photoshop CS2 on my MBP since the first week I had it. I updated to 10.4.6 and updated firmware today, and I just tried opening a file, and creating a new one, and it worked fine. Can you give a bit more information: for example, did you install from the original Photoshop CS2 disk?

  • Photoshop no longer can open or create new files

    I'm using CS3 on Windows. I had Photoshop open with 2 small PSDs: I individually closed each window. I then tried to open a PNG from my desktop: nothing happens. I'm on a single monitor setup running at my max resolution (1920x1200). It literally looks like it does when you first launch PS and there's no files open. So I shut it down and tried again: same thing. Shut it down and relaunched it: can't even make a new file, it has the exact same behavior: dialogs open and are interactible but after clicking "OK" there's nothing, as if I just opened the app. Yes, it's a legit copy. I did a search and tried the voodoo that people claimed fixed their problem (such as changing the default printer, etc) and none of it works. I had it happen a week ago as well and had no idea how it fixed itself. It just one day started working again. This is so irritating. I guess I'm going to have to use MS Paint now to view my PNGs.

    Maybe a dialog is off screen. Have you tried pressing Esc when "nothing Happens"?
    Did you really reset your preferences as described in the FAQ?
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776?tstart=0
    You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
    This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.

    What sort of recent changes have you made on the system?

  • Flash CS6 opens then freezes when opening old or new file.

    I have the Adobe production premium and all other software works except flash. This is driving me crazy because It was working fine about 3 months ago, then all of a sudden it stopped working. It loads up just fine and it gives me the options screen. But when I open a new file or an old one it freezes with no error message. Windows just gives a "This program is not responding and needs to close." I have tried everything to get it to work, from uninstalling/reinstalling to the fontinfo.txt trick from the FAQ. I also updated it as well.
    I am using a Windows 7 64 bit HP PC.
    If anybody can help please let me know, and if you have any other questions please ask. Thanks

    Wow, I knew I should've held out on making a post. I ended up getting it working.
    Turns out I didn't do the SING component / datastore correctly. Instead of going into the SING folder on the startup disk I was going into the SING folder under the user (me). I didn't catch that at first but going back and re-reading everything I caught it.
    I feel good

  • Photoshop Not opening or creating new files

    i have tried intalling and reinstalling twice and it has not fixed my problem. This problem is huge for me because I have so many uses for photshop on a daily basis and this just stops them. If anyone knows how to fix this or is having the same promblem please respond. I have the newest update for Photoshop CC the photoshop i am using it also does not work with he 64 bit or the normal version.

    Operating system and version?  Has PS worked OK before this problem, and with the 14.1.2 update?  When did the problem start, and can you link it with anything else happening to your system?  If Windows, have you tried a System restore to a date before the problem started? (as a last resort)

  • How to change preference setting in Photoshop CC 2014 to not automatically lauch Adobe Camera Raw when opening Nikon raw .NEF file

    When I launch Photoshop CC 2014 and then open a .nef raw file it launches Adobe Camera Raw and I click Open Image, then I "Convert to Smart Object" then launch Filter > Camera Raw Filter.  Is there a preference somewhere for raw files that just bring you right into Adobe Photoshop without stopping at Camera Raw first?  Thanks!

    Gene,
    Ah!  Okay, makes sense now.  I just learned tonight that some features are not available when using Camera Raw as a Smart Filter.  One being Lens Profile Correction.  So it makes sense to have have Camera Raw open right off the bat to make some tweaks first then continue on.  I found the below on the Adobe website.  Thank you so much!!
    Note: The following features are not available when using Camera Raw as a Smart Filter (that are normally available in Camera Raw), primarily because they don’t make sense in the filter context: Workflow options and preferences, crop and straighten tools, rotation tools (rotate left/right buttons), snapshots, camera and lens profile corrections.
