    Hi Noel,
I'm wondering whether your comment addressed to Lmono was intended for me Tmono.
You ask: "So why didn't you provide the same?"
It just didn't occur to me to do so.
My intent was to report that there was at least one other user encountering a similar problem.  It occurred to me that Adobe might be interested in determining the scale of a problem which causes one of  their best known products to fail to run quite so completely after a clean install
I also see that I misreported the OS I'm running - its Windows 8.
If there is further information I can provide which might be helpful in determining a solution, if someone could be specific about what would be helpful, then I will try to respond appropriately.

The X230 has Intel HD 4000 graphics support built in to the processor.  Windows was pretty stubborn about refusing driver updates, but I just managed to get drivers from the Intel site to install and Photoshop is now running, so hopefully I need not try your patience any further.
In case anyone else has a similar problem and stumbles on this the way to install the driver that worked was to:
    - download the zip version of the generic driver from Intel
    - use the 'have disk' option in the windows dialog to install the driver - other paths in the UI did not work with windows refusing to install the driver.

  • Premier pro crashes on startup every time

Premier Pro CC 2014 crashes on startup every time. Operating system is OSX Yosemite 10.10. However, the problem begane with previous OS versions and the update did not fix the issue. CC is up to date as version 8.1.0. I've verified and repaired my startup disk as well and there are no issues with my machine. I am using:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)
    2.4 GHz Intel Core i7
    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
I have a school project coming up and really need my CC to be working.
Thank you so much for the help,
    William Durland

The first thing I suggest is renaming three Premiere Pro folders at the following paths:
    /Users/<username>/Documents/Adobe
    /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe
    /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Adobe

Ok I found it what cause this problems "Custom Styles". Not Brushes, not Tool Preset, Custom Swatches or Patterns definitely "Custom Styles". What I did? I reset all my preset manager which I add previously. Then restart Photoshop. After opening I added my presets one bye one. First I added my h'all Custom Swatches and quit Photoshop. Result No Crash. Then added my h'all Patterns and quit. No Crash. Then I added my h'all styles (Over 100. These are h'all inside 1 style files) and quit Photoshop. And result CRASHED. I follow adobe solution in this link Photoshop CC 2014 crashes when you quit and save all my styles like a new. But solution didn't work. Still crashing when I added my styles no matter what!

  • Aperature crashes/force quit every time I open it

My Aperture/Photoshop workflow paged out on my MBP even with 8 GB RAM. Personally I recommend simply upgrading to 16 GB RAM immediately. The limited RAM may or may not be the direct cause of your SBBOD but it is very likey that your MBP is paging out, and paging out is very slow which often does cause problematic operation.
If you want to evaluate whether or not you currently have adequate RAM on board:
Look at the Page Outs number under System Memory on the Activity Monitor app before starting a typical Aperture work session and write the number down. Recheck the Page Outs count after working and write the number down again. If the page outs change (manual calculation of ending page outs number minus starting page outs number) is not zero your workflow is RAM-starved.
Ignore the pie charts and other info in Activity Monitor because they are often misleading regarding RAM usage. For RAM analysis, manually count page outs.
If your test showed that page outs increased during operation you can
    • add RAM, very strongly recommended
    • and/or simply try to run Aperture by itself after restarting, a workaround
    • Restart before Aperture work sessions to clear possible memory leaks
Personally IMO maxxing out RAM to 16 GB from OWC or Crucial is a no-brainer at today's prices. More and more, app and OS designers are (rightfully) designing to take advantage of lots of RAM.
At 60% full your HDD is not overfilled but HDDs slow as they fill so IMO you should replace it with a larger drive SSD/HDD when it gets ~70% full. Also you may want to consider moving to a Referenced-Masters workflow with the Masters on external drives to keep your internal drive from overfilling.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 crashes in OSX 10.9.4

I am using a MacBook Pro mid 2010 with OSX 10.9.4 and Photoshop CC 2014 crashes on opening with a message "Could not initialise Photoshop because of a program error."
I also have the previous version Photoshop CC and it runs fine.  Anyone experiencing the same?
    Thanks, Chris

"Could not initialize Photoshop because of a program error" is a generic error and means something unanticipated.
Lets optimize PS for best performance and then check. http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-performance-photoshop-cs4-cs5.html#main_Set_P erformance_preferences

  • Photoshop CC 2014 crashes right after start in Win7 Ultimate. amtlib.dll seems to blame.

Photoshop CC 2014 crashes right after start in Win7 Ultimate. Installed a new graphics card MSI GeForce GT730 and did an immediate driver update. Also completely updated Windows. Bridge and Lightroom 5.5 work fine. After several attempts to get PS up and running, also after checking possible solutions on the web and in this community I was still left with a crashing application.
Then tried a cracked amtlib.dll in the Photoshop directory and PS worked fine! But not able to check in to CC. Then replaced the cracked amtlib.dll with the original and PS again crashed a few seconds after launch. Oh, and yes, I did check out of Creative Cloud and checked in again but nothing worked so far.

After browsing through several sites I finally stumbled upon the message below, posted a couple of months ago in this forum.
This sequence finally was the solution to my problem with Ps crashing after launch.
    PROBLEM SOLVED!!
After dozens of fruitless attemps to solve the problem and many, many hours of searching the web, I stumbled upon a thread in the PS community that helped me fix the problem and made my day (weekend).
The thread was originally posted by MrNameloc here and ALL CREDITS got to him. A public "Thank You" to MrNameloc is also in its right place.
    The solution is as follows:
    Un-install Photoshop CC.
    Un-install Adobe CC.
Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe and find SLCache and delete it.
Go to: C:\ProgramData\Adobe and find SLStore and delete it.
    Restart.
    Install Adobe CC.
    Install Photoshop.
    Restart.
@Adobe, you might wanna write this one behind your ear just in case it shows up again in the forums... 'cose it will.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 crashes on creating 3D objects

Hello, I need help with this problem of Photoshop in this computer.
Photoshop CC 2014 crashes when choosing 3D > New 3D Extrusion From Selected Path and the rest of operations from this menu.
It can show the 3D Workspace, but creating 3D objects causes the program to crash. The GPU enhanced feature Perspective Warp works.
In Preferences > Performance Photoshop detects the graphics card as NVIDIA Corporation GeForce GT 610/PCIe/SSE2, and changing the Advanced Settings Mode to Basic does not solve the problem. Total VRAM says 2019 MB.
I've already installed 4GB more of RAM and a different graphics card (NVIDIA) apart of the integrated graphic card (AMD) trying to fix this problem, but it remains the same.
Drivers are updated and working (old uninstalled).
Resetting Preferences and using another Administrator account also does not work.
This is annoying, I need to do the work in 3D using computers from others and I don't understand why only this feature fails and causes such bad behavior.
Your help would be appreciated. Thank you.
    Information extracted from dxdiag:

Thanks for your response.  Our mandatory profiles and regular local profiles are all generated from the same default user profiles, so the app data is the same.  We have system restrictions set by GPO's, so perhaps it's something related to group policy?

If you're pushing Option at the exact moment you're clicking the Dock icon, it's supposed to do that. Wait until just after clicking it.

Maybe find a local who can translate for you. I don't know what to tell you for dealing in another country for service on your computer.
I can offer you something you can do if you want to give it a try. You'll need a backup of your data in your Home folder because you need to erase the drive. You'll also need a solid, preferably fast, internet connection.
Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
