Photoshop CC 2014 - Paintbrush Tool appears on all layers
Can someone please tell me what I did and how to fix it? I inadvertently did something and now every layer of an image whether duplicated, new layer etc contains the paint brush tool and alters the characteristics of the layer.
This will eventually be moved there, but what happened is your layers are set to "no thumbnails".
If there is a blank space below the "Background" layer, right-click and choose small, medium, or large thumbnails from the menu.
Alternatively, go to the Layers Panel Menu > Panel Options... and choose the thumbnail size from the dialog box.

What is wrong with the Photoshop CC 2014 blur tool? It only blurs pixels of initial contact with the tool. It does not blur any pixels that are swiped by the tool as you drag it across the screen. Photoshop CS6 blur tool works just fine. Togeling between two versions of Photoshop to get the work done is a drag!
all my settings both in the Options Bar and the Brush Panel are the same whether in CS6, CC, or CC 2014.

Lightroom 5 file edited in photoshop cc 2014 does not appear back next to original after save. Is anyone else having this issue? If so what is the fix. The edited image appears back in lightroom in a new folder.
I'm performing a normal "Save", not "Save As". Work flow I'm using is as follows: Select photo in Lightroom 5.7 >" Edit In" Photoshop CC 2014 > (after working on photo is PS) > Save > close PS. Photo returns to Lightroom 5.7 in a new folder rather than next to the original. Prior to purchasing the monthly plan and upgrading to PS CC 2014, I performed this same work flow using Lightroom 5.6 and Photoshop CS6 without any issues.
Just for fun... I attempted to move the edited file back into the original folder. I received a prompt that said the file already existed in the original folder, however I can't see it except the new folder that LR created. I tried several different sort orders, etc without any success.
*** Follow up: Was unable to resolve the issue using Photoshop CC 2014. Uninstalled PS CC 2014 and went back to using Photoshop CS6. Return trips from LR 5.7 to Photoshop is now performing as it should: returning edited photo back to the original folder in LR 5 and placing next to the original image.
Should anyone have a suggestion on getting Photoshop CC 2014 to do the same, I would love to be educated.

Facing issue with Adobe photo shop , smudge tool freezes when using >4000px .

The software stops responding and freezes when photoshop Smudge tool only when size is increased to >4000px ,

Tried Advanced graphics card settings in preferences.

We had tried on multiple operating system and also with latest updates done , same issue persists ,current version is 14.2.1 x64 , Photoshop stops responding once brush size in increased about 1000px.
All latest update were installed via creative common cloud.

I've uninstalled all my Creative Cloud applications including Creative Cloud itself and still I get the same error. Is there a work around?

How to add Photoshop CC 2014 to the "Open With" dialog?
Hi!
As mentioned in my previous dialog. THe new Photoshop CC 2014 does not appear as programm in my Open With dialog, so I tried these steps:
Double click on a NEF or PSD file
Select a program from a list of installed programs
Checked again "Other programs": No Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 at all
Click on "Browse"
Select "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014\Photoshop.exe"
But it is NOT added to the Other Porgrams list, so I'm still not able to open it with Adobe Photoshop CC 2014
Sorry, but that is really annoying now.
Has anybody any idea how I can solve this issue?
I trust the volunteering users here more than Adobe itself. So far I've no good impression since the CC story. Before CC I was never forced to use this forum. Also I got only working solutions by other user almost never by Adobe itself. :-(

Open Bridge
Edit -> Preferences -> File associations
Select the file type you need
Click on "Photoshop"
Select "Search"
Select "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014\Photoshop.exe"
Repeat the steps beginning with 3. for each file type you need
But this only for Bridge itself. I'm still not able to open my file in File Explore. Also I've to do these steps for each file type manually.
But at least it's working now in Bridge, but that is only a workaround, as I changed only some file associations manually. That must not be the solution.
Any idea how to fix this issue? -

How can I reinstall Photoshop CC 2014? I uninstalled through Control Panel > Programs & Features after finding a post that said uninstall/reinstall would fix the problem that choosing a DNG file and selecting Edit In Photoshop CC 2014 does not work. The uinstall worked but I cannot find a way to reinstall. When I open the Creative Cloud app it says that Photoshop CC 2014 is up to date!
What is the procedure for reinstalling? Thanks.The correct solution is described at CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed.
I used solution 2 and deleted the OPM.DB file. When I restarted the Creative Cloud app it then recognized that Photoshop CC 2014 was not installed and all I had to do was click the Install button. -

You can delete all of the contacts that are in the ON MY MAC section by selecting All ON My Mac and then selecting all contacts. Press delete and approve the deletion. Adobe extensions show in the Extension Manager and are enabled but do not appear at all in Photoshop CC 2014. Third party extensions do show up and can be used. All extensions are available in and can be used Photoshop CC. I have reinstalled CC and Extension Manager to the most recent releases and the Adobe extensions are still not available in Photoshop CC 2014. What should I do now?

If some extensions are must have for you, you have to continue to use PS CC until HTML based counterparts become available. -
I only seem to have 10 icons (features) available to use, for example the crop or straighten features are missing. Are these features restricted by some settings?

Photoshop CC 2014 Background Eraser Tool Not Working
I downloaded the CC 2014 update last week for all of my Adobe products. I've had no trouble with them except for the background eraser tool in Photoshop.
I open a photo and try and erase the background (all of the same settings as I used before) and it's really laggy. You can't drag the eraser, only erase in single points. I have found that by using the standard eraser first, then the background eraser, it will work for about 40 minutes, before stopping again. I then have to restart my computer to get it to work again.
As you can imagine, this is really frustrating. I can't figure out why it's doing this, and neither can my company's IT department. It's not maxing out the RAM or peaking the CPU, so they're pretty sure it's an issue with PS.
I have tried uninstalling, running the CC Cleaner tool, and then re-installing, but that hasn't fixed it.
Is anyone else having this problem? How did you fix it?
EmilyAdobe finally admits that this issue is a known issue. They tried to blame it on an outdated graphics card driver (see above), but mine was current. After I headed off all of their illogical excuses, one by one, they finally sent me an email stating the issue is definitely on their end and they were able to replicate it on their end - contrary to a previous email in which they attempted to shift blame on my end. I have to say Adobe gave all appearances that they are dismissive and in denial about it - until today. Once again, they escalated the issue (Level 2 - whatever that means). I'm not holding my breath. Thoroughly frustrated with how Adobe refused to take ownership of this until I had them corralled. And yes - I did let them know I was not pleased. Very disappointed with Adobe support. I invested a lot of time in previous support sessions, and the issue is still not resolved.

I am running Photoshop CC 2014 on Windows 8.1 with an AMD quad core processor and AMD E1-2100 APU with AMD Radeon HD 8210 Graphics Card. I have installed the latest driver version 13.152.0.0. When I activate puppet warp, the mesh appears over the image and I can place the first pin. However, when I go to add the second pin, Photoshop crashes. I have tried with on a new, blank file, with just a few lines on it, but, as soon as I place the first pin, the image disappears, and then, as soon as I click anywhere else in the image, Photoshop crashes. I have followed all the online advice about settings under the Preferences/Performance interface, but nothing fixes the problem. Can anyone please help?

Photoshop CC 2014 crashes when I try to use any 3D tools or features?
I am a college student and going to be in a real bind as soon as this next semester starts without this working properly. We just started touching 3D features in Photoshop last semester but now i have advanced Photoshop this next semester and this will seriously kill my grade without this working. I have a toshiba laptop C55DT-A5106 with AMD A6-5200 HD 8400 processor and graphics running Windows 8.1 pro build 9600. Photoshop works fine until i use any 3D features, then i select the tool or feature, it asks me would i like to switch to 3D workspace, I click yes or no(it doesnt matter they both result in the same thing happening) then I get the pop up box saying Photoshop has stopped working and needs to close the program. I have had adobe photoshop support working on trying to fix this for weeks now and they cannot figure it out. They have been on my laptop remotely many times and they cannot figure it out. They say they have to contact the software engineer next. Just figured if someone else has incite on what the problem could be that would be great. I and the support team have exhausted all known usual fixes. I have tried 4 different drivers including two betas drivers. tried 3 different chipset drivers. uninstalled and reinstalled many times, adjusted preferences in photoshop different ways(myself and by adobe support), created an administrator account and tried running in that instead of my normal account, tried running in safe mode, and finally completely reformatted hdd and fresh installed windows again. They all did the same thing no matter what i tried crashed at the same place with the same error in the events. the following are the errors in windows event log.

At first I didn't even see the option but I reinstalled Photoshop CC and now I see the menu option but when I try it there is a message that I need to use Photoshop CC.
