Photoshop cc not working with Yosemite

Is anyone having issues with Photoshop CC working with Yosemite? My screen is pixilating after about an hour and I can't get any work done. Anybody hearing about similar issues?

The most commonly reported bugs in MacOS 10.10 that we've seen are some video card drivers are broken(GL drawing goes back), some trackpad and tablet drivers are causing significant slowdowns, and FileVault appears to be causing slowdowns.
If you really need to get work done, I suggest going back to a stable version of MacOS.

  • Photoshop Elements not working with Yosemite

After upgrading OS to Yosemite I could not get Photoshop Elements 11 to work properly - sluggish operation and brushes not working.  I upgraded to Elements 13 but it gets sluggish as time passes and some of the filters don't work.  It is frustrating to say the least as I do lots of photo processing and it just takes too long now.  Can anybody help?

    Hi,
We sincerely apologize for the problem customers are facing while using a trackpad with Photoshop Elements 11 & 12 on Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite).
We have been actively working with Apple to resolve this problem as quickly as possible. We're hopeful this will get completely resolved in an upcoming update of Yosemite(MAC 10.10).
In the meanwhile, you have two options to work around this problem:
    1. Option1: Use a mouse instead of the trackpad
    2. Option2: Install a plug-in which should workaround the problem
    Plug-in installation instructions:
    1. Close Photoshop Elements
    2. Download this zip file to a location you can easily find (e.g. your desktop)
    3. Unzip the file, WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin, and move it to the Plug-In folder:
    • For Elements 12 – //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 12/Support Files/Plug-Ins/
    • For Elements 11 - //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 11/Support Files/Plug-Ins/
You can verify the plug-in is installed by launching the Photoshop Elements Editor and choosing Help > System Info... Scroll to the bottom of the text in the dialog and look for the plug-in name "WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin".
Note: This plugin is a temporary workaround and should be used until this issue is addressed in Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite). Please remove this plugin once the issue is officially resolved by Apple.
If you are using a stylus in conjunction with a trackpad, you might see issues with your trackpad. Workaround in this particular case is to use mouse instead of the trackpad.
    Hope this helps!

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 does not work with Yosemite 10.10

My Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 does not work with Yosemite 10.10 nor does my Premier Elements 12. When I try to start them up I get the error message. After uninstalling and reinstalling a few times its still the same. Strangely enough PSE 11 seem to work with Yosemite.  I uninstalled my Premier Elements as well and it behave the same way. How do I get a new copy of Premier Elements 12 to reinstall?

Just to further test what is happening to my iMac on Yosemite is I downloaded the trial version of Photoshop CC and when I go to launch it it gives mr the same error message as when I try to launch PES 12 or Premier Elements 12. So whatever the problem is it involves all three and so upgrading to Photoshop CC doesn't even help.  Could there be an Adobe file damaged or missing somewhere that is common to these and yet does not effect Revel and Lightroom?

I have aperture 3.4.4, which does not work with Yosemite. Is there a way to upgrade my Aperture version, or do I have to buy Aperture again?

If you own any version of Aperture 3, you are entitled to a free update. Only it can be tricky, if your version is not associated with your AppleID, because you bought it with a serial number.
Have you checked, if you can see an update at the App Store Updates page? Or an "Accept" button on the Purchases tab of the app Store?
Contact the AppStore Support and request a redeem code, to be able to buy the update for free. You will need to provide a proof op purchase of Aperture.
    Use this link: http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact/
Apple sent redeem codes for Aperture 3.6 to several users who had bought the version on disks, if they could provide a serial number.  See for example this discussion: (The post marked as the solution)
Re: Aperture update not possible after update to Yosemite
It is really unfortunate you missed the window of opportunity with Mavericks MacOS X 10.9.5, when the update was easy.

my iPhoto will not work with Yosemite, and it says that it was purchased under a different account, but that's not the case.  Any ideas why I cannot update iPhoto?

How did you buy iPhoto? Did it come preinstalled on your computer with Lion or later, or did it come with Snowleopard on system installer disks?
    Which version of iPhoto?
If you have a version of iPhoto '11 and it is showing on the Purchased tab of the App Store, with your Apple ID, then delete iPhoto from the Applications folder  (don't empty the Trash) and download iPhoto again from the Purchased tab.
If that does not work, contact The App Store Support  from the Quick Links on the AppStore main page.

Final Cut Pro does not work with Yosemite. Can it be fixed?

Hi Tom, I don't know if you can help me.
I'm using Final Cut version 10.1.4 with Yosemite 10.10.2 and whenever I open FCP it opens for about 5 seconds (not allowing me to click anywhere) before closing with the message  "Final Cut Pro quit unexpectedly. click reopen to open the application again. This report will be sent to apple automatically." I have tried opening it multiple times and the same thing has been happening over and over again and i've tried everything I could find on the internet and nothing is working.
    HELP.
    Jada.

  • Photoshop will not work in Yosemite OS 10.10

Yosemite looks cool but it did not warn me that Photoshop and my wacom tablet would not function.  I actually have Photoshop CS5.  Which as far I am concern worked great in Mac OS X.  I was given warning after downloading and installing I need to to download a JAVA thing-a-bob. It offer a links I clinked on it and download and went through the motion of installing it.  However Photoshop say "an unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred.  Photoshop will now exit.
I went adobe and all they offer buy their cloud version of photoshop and agree to pay them monthly for rest of your life on software.  What idiot would do that?
I look at 99% of Yosemite as cosmetic and very nice.  Good thing upgrade was FREE.  I will try sketch book and maybe some other for my artwork for day or two.
I will assume I can restore from time machine.......................

After research on the internet I found many others that also had issues Photoshop CS5 giving an Error message. It was suggested to run an photoshop un-installl then to re-install CS5 Suite.  AFTER doing that Photoshop CS5 worked. Apple support staff had me download several different version of JAVA in hopes of getting Photoshop CS5 to function.  None of that work.  I would have tried the un-install option sooner.  But my iMac kept ejecting CD.  I eventually a site that allowed me to download CS5.
I contacted ADOBE.  It was clear they knew there were issues with earlier versions of their products working with Yosemite 10.10.  BT offered no help other then to buy their latest CC products.  Where they rape their clients every month/year.  I was beyond disappointed with ADOBE.

  • Safari not working with Yosemite- incompatible with google search too

Ever since I upgraded my macbook pro, Safari has been slow.  In the past 2 days, it's more than slow - it's impossible.  I am able to get to pages I have bookmarked or get to links in email documents - but every time I try to do a search using the search bar in Safari, it hangs.  Sometimes I get a list of possible websites (after a few minutes) but if I click on any of those, Safari just hangs there and won't go.  I even had to use Chrome in order to generate this question in the discussion groups. Does anyone have any suggestions other than using an alternate browser.   Is it possible that google and Safari on Yosemite are incompatible? I did try using the "Develop" menubar option and chose DuckDuckgo as the search tool and it worked a bit better.
This is now the 2nd big issue I've had with Yosemite -- it totally would not work with my Adobe Photoshop Elements program -- I spent hours on the Adobe forums and discovered that 100s of others were also having issues.  It turned out to be a problem with Yosemite and the trackpad.  Adobe finally came up with a temporary plugin that allows Elements (and other Adobe programs) to run.
Suggesions on Safari other than ditching it and using Chrome?

    Try a Safari reset.
Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items.  Quit/reopen Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History and Web Site Data. The down side is it clears all cookies.Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site.

  • Photoshop CS5 not working with Lucida Grande Regular font

On my iMac Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz, I am running OS 10.6.7.
When using Photoshop CS5, if I try to use the font, Lucida Grande Regular, it causes an error.
"Could not use the type tool because of a program error."
When I try to open an existing file that has type layers that include the font Lucida Grande Regular, Photoshop will not open the file. I have several of these files that I want to use. I can open them on another Macintosh and everything works fine.
First I get a message window that says, " Some text layers might need to be updated before they can be used for vector based output. Do you want to update these layers now?" I click on update and then get the following message. "Could not complete your request because of a program error."
I have updated Photoshop CS5 to the latest version, 12.0.4.
I have run the FontTest.jsx script and it shows an error for Lucida Grande Regular.
(IOError: General Photoshop error occurred. This functionality may not be available in this version of Photoshop.
    - <no additional information available>)
The other 100+ fonts on my machine did not create errors.
Since Lucida Grande Regular is an essential font for Mac OS X, I re-installed OS 10.6 in order to have a new version of Lucida Grande Regular. After that re-install I am having the same problems with the font not working in Photoshop.
It also does not work with Adobe InDesign CS5. The font does work in Microsoft Word.
The program Font Book verifies Lucida Grande Regular.
Other fonts including, Lucida Grande Bold, work fine in Photoshop and InDesign.
What can I do to get Photoshop CS5 to work with Lucida Grande Regular?

Wow, I'm so glad I found this thread. This problem has been dogging me for years, and it's so sporadic that I've been afraid of breathing the wrong way lest I somehow incur that diabolical Program Error dialog. I'd managed to reach a truce with Photoshop CS5, getting it into a barely working state, and avoiding all updates... until Lion came along today. Then I updated to CS5 12.0.4, and the Program Errors were back again.
Now I see that the problem does seem to be related to the Lucida Grande font. If there's a layer with that font in it, not only can I not edit that text, but I can't marquee select anything, nor drag any shapes. Deleting caches and massaging fonts are completely ineffectual measures... but if I delete the Lucida layers entirely, we're back in business.
    At least so far.
Funny to think that of all the innovations I'd like to see Photoshop adopt, the fixing of this one issue is the thing I'd like to see most. I'll be keeping my eye on this thread, and any updates by Mr. Cox.

  • Final cut pro not working with Yosemite

I yesterday installed Yosemite and the previous version of Final Cut Pro does not work with it.  When I try to install the latest version of Final Cut Pro from the purchased tab in the app store, I get the message:  "Final Cut can't be installed on this computer because it requires at least 4 GB of memory".  When I go to the storage tab in "About This Mac", it shows that I have 154.49 GB free of 319.21 GB.  Can someone help?  Many thanks.

It's a 2007 iMac with 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.  I had been using Final Cut Pro without any problems right until I upgraded to Yosemite.  I'm hoping that upgrading to Yosemite doesn't mean I can't continue using Final Cut Pro - that would be extremely frustrating.

  • Adobe photoshop 5.5 does not work with Yosemite

When I upgraded my Mac to Yosemite, Adobe photoshop ceased to work. Is there any way of fixing this problem?

Yosemite is known to break CS5 installs, so there are two ways to fix this:
Install this Java for OS X 2014-001
    If that fails, reinstall CS5.5
