Photoshop CS3 question

I have Photoshop CS3 on my laptop and for some reason I CAN'T open bridge but I am able to open Photoshop.  Do you know why this is happening?

What specific information would you need?  The program was working just fine early yesterday morning and than when I came back in the afternoon to edit  some more pictures that is when I wasn't able to see the full image anymore.  It is providing me with all of the editing options as if the picture is there but it is just a blank screen with the thumbnail pic showing in the right panel.

  • Bridge/Photoshop CS3 Web Gallery Question

    Hi There, I have a question about the Photoshop cs3 Flash Gallery, particularly the flashobject.js file and index.html file.  Whenever I try and open the finished Flash Gallery HTML page, I get a message that says "Please upgrade your Flash player" and "Already have Flash player installed? Click Here."  Is there a way that I can remove that and just have it go to the Flash Gallery?  I notice that it says Flash Player 6 but that is an old version.  I am not very knowledgeable in javascript so any help would be appreciated.

    Ellen,
    I replied to your identical thread in the Bridge forum this morning.

  • Photoshop CS3 to Dreamweaver CS3 CSS question

    Hi all,
    I am sorry if this is allready dicussed a couple of times.I did a search and just could not find it. When I export a site from Photoshop CS3 to DIV (generate CSS by ID) it is aligned to the left and all DIV's have a specific position on the page. How can I get my site to center in Dreamweaver CS3 without having to adjust al separate DIV's?
    For Example: When I export from Photoshop all slices are exported as folowed.
    #Table_01 {
    position:absolute;
    left:auto;
    top:0px;
    width:832px;
    height:562px;
    right: auto;
    #test-13 {
    position:absolute;
    left:275px;
    top:26px;
    width:9px;
    height:189px;
    #test-14 {
    position:absolute;
    left:284px;
    top:26px;
    width:128px;
    height:98px;
    I know how to make a DIV center (with Margin auto left and right) but I do not know how to center all DIV's at once.
    I hope you are willing to help me with this. In case you have more questions let me know.

    The answer is to not let Photoshop write either your HTML or your CSS for you.  What you show is a disaster waiting to happen, really, and is characteristic of the kind of mess produced by any wizard that writes HTML based on a graphic layout.  Use your graphics editors to produce your graphics.  Build your page in DW.  It's a much better way to go.

    Leaving your page with all absolutely positioned elements is really asking for trouble, but here's how to make them all center at once -
    Change this -
    </head>
    to this -
    <style type="text/css">
    #wrapper { width:760px; margin:0 auto;position:relative; }
    /* 760px will display on an 800px screen maximized browser window without */
    /* horizontal scrollbars. Change as needed */
    </style>
    </head>
    change this -
    <body ...>
    (the ellipsis represents any other attributes that might be mentioned in the body tag, and SHOULD NOT BE INCLUDED EXPLICITLY!)
    to this -
    <body ...>
    <div id="wrapper">
    and this -
    </body>
    to this -
      <!-- /wrapper -->
    </div>
    </body>
    and see if that helps.

  • Photoshop cs3 color question,very strange!

    There is a same RAW photo,one use Cannon Digital Photo Professional open,it is correct.

    but use photoshop CS3 open it,fish's color changed.The other color is correct.
    http://image.xitek.com/forum/200803/3026/302678/302678_1206871057.jpg
    What's happened??

    After playing a bit with your original raw image, I think the problem is not improper colour management (as thought previously) but an intrinsic difference between Canon DPP and Adobe Camera Raw. The tropical fish's colour is so extreme it reveals the difference between the raw converters. ACR 4.3.1 as well as ACR 4.4 will render the fish too saturated, no matter what target profile is chosen. Canon DPP obviously can do a better job because it has access to proprietary information stored inside the image file which third-party raw converters (like ACR) have no access to. Generally, different raw converters will yield different results (albeit usually, the differences will be subtle)---it's a bit like using different developers back in the film days.
    You can approach the DPP rendering in ACR to a degree (albeit not perfectly) when setting the ACR controls as follows: exposure -1.0, brightness +70, vibrance -50, and saturation +40 ... or thereabouts.

    Everytime I try to make a GIF, and I select the length of the video, and press okay, a box comes out saying: Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working. I've tried the "CTRL-ALT-SHIFT," but it doesn't work! Please help? ):

    Oh, and I have a Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended.

    You'll probably going to have to uninstall, then re-install the application; but you need to provide a lot more information;

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended freezes on startup under Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit - No splash screen

    I installed my licensed copy of Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended today as part of my install a bunch of software after a reinstall of Windows (due to viruses).  I did a completely fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.  I've used Photoshop CS3 Extended for quite a while now so I know what to expect on startup but it was previously installed under Windows XP Professional (32-bit). Figured I would give Windows 7 a chance this time around.
    Google searches aren't turning up anything.  When I attempt to start the application, I get a window with the title "Adobe Photoshop CS3" (no "Extended" - I seem to recall the title changes later) and the toolbar appears.  However, no splash screen appears and no Product Activation wizard appears - the application simply freezes on an empty frame and a toolbar.  I've tried running Photoshop as Administrator (right-click, "Run As Administrator"), but nothing changed there.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.  I tried upgrading to CS3 10.0.1.  Nothing works.  The application simply freezes before it gets anywhere.
    I tried calling Adobe Support since this technically falls under installation issues but their phone support systems are down today.  Go figure.
    Edit:  I hooked into Photoshop with the Visual Studio debugger and every single thread is executing some variation of WaitForSingleObject() or WaitForMultipleObjects().  The main thread is "executing" somewhere in AdobeLM_libFNP.dll (at address 09619d81 - if I had debugging symbols for CS3, I could provide a function).  There are nine threads "running" at the point the freeze occurs - but all of them are technically suspended due to the functions they are executing - and one thread is in a suspended state.

    My Visual Studio analysis was far more informative.  All threads are hung inside of WaitForSingleObject() and WaitForMultipleObjects() calls and the DLL in question appears to be FlexNet-related.  I did forget to mention that I also even manually started the FlexNet service in case, for some strange reason, Photoshop was waiting for it to start.  That also did not work.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

    I recently purchased a new desktop computer and installed Adobe CS3 Master Edition on it and I get the following error:
    Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
    Out of the entire suite of tools only Photoshop will not launch. The weird thing is i also had the same Adobe programs installed on my laptop and I have not made any installation updates to that machine and i am getting the same error. I have always installed the same software on my two home machines with no problem until now. Any help is appreciated.

  • Automator and Adobe Photoshop CS3

    Hi All,
    I have never used Automator so i am not sure if this is what it is for but I want to be able to apply a watermark to all my images by opening them from a folder in Adobe Photoshop CS3, applying the watermark image then saving and closing the image.
    Is this possible?
    Sorry if this is in the wrong area, i was not sure where to post it, it could even be an Adobe question???
    Any help is much appreciated.
    cheers,
    Andrew

    You have already received an answer using actions in Photoshop and this would give you great flexibility regarding your steps in the action.
    However, if you want to use Automator you can download "Photoshop Automator Actions v3.5". This set includes a watermark action as well as 85 other actions to be used with Photoshop CS3.

    *"The application Photoshop CS3*

    unexpectedly."
    For starters, you're using a beta version, dated Dec 8, 2006...which is not final and still contains bugs... CS3 was not released until Sprint 2007. and second, based on it's file name, your application appears to have been illegally "Kracked"...hense the [k].
    If you do in fact have a valid legal license of Photoshop, you should probably post your question on Adobe's forums:

  • I own Photoshop CS3, how can I upgrade to CS5 (or even CS6)?

    As I say in the title, I own Photoshop CS3 and I heard you could upgrade to CS5 or CS6 from that version. I've looked online and I can't find anything, either the links are broken or they bring me to an irrelevant page.
    If anyone has any insight please help me!
    P.S., the hoops one has to go through just to ask this question... I am quite lost.
    Thank you for your help!
    Chloe
    EDIT: I am using a Windows computer, by the way. Windows 8.

    There are no longer any upgrades from CS3 to any later versions of Photoshop. CS3 is too old to qualify.
    As a CS3 owner, you can however get a discounted monthly fee for the Cloud version. The discount lasts for 12 months. Then it's back to the regular monthly fee.

  • Clipping in Photoshop CS3 rendered Differently in Lightroom 1.4.1

    I called Adobe Tech Support in an attempt to get an answer to my question about why Lightroom (version 1.4.1) seems to show more clipping of an image than viewing clipping of the same image in Photoshop CS3 by using a curves adjustment (show clipping box checked). They did not give me a reasonable answer.
    I typically import my images into Lightroom, then make adjustments there, export to CS3 as 16-bit tiffs in ProPhoto RGB Colorspace, then make further color and contrast adjustments in Photoshop. My monitor is calibrated using a Colorvision Spyder2. Color management settings in Photoshop are as follows: ProPhoto RGB Colorspace, US Web Coated (SWOP) v 2, Gray Dot Gain 20%, Spot Dot Gain 20%, Color Management Policies are to preserve embedded profiles for RGB, CMYK, and Gray, profile mismatches are to ask when opening and when pasting, and to ask when opening images with missing profiles; Conversion options are Engine Adobe (ACE), Intent Relative Colormetric, Use Black Point Compensation checked, Use Dither (8-bit/channel images). There are no items checked under advanced controls.
    I view proof setup using the same paper profile in CS3 and the print module of Lightroom (perceptual intent, black point compensation checked, simulate paper color and simulate black ink options are unchecked unless being viewed full screen) Sometimes I also use the rendering intent of relative colormetric with black point compensation checked. I am seeing evidence of more clipping almost always in Lightroom (Develop and Library Modules both) than in Photoshop CS3. I understand that the Library Module uses Adobe RGB colorspace rather than ProPhoto, but I still see more clipping in the Develop Module view of the same tiff than its clipping representation in Photoshop CS3. There is a substantial difference (not a small one) in the amount of clipping shown.
    I understand that Lightroom Develop Module is using a Perceptual intent and that the default option in Photoshop is absolute colormetric, but I still do not think this completely explains the problem, especially since I have the soft proofing set up to use perceptual intent most often. By the way, I never check the box for preserve RGB numbers.
    Can anyone explain why the difference in clipping shown and which one should be taken as more accurate: Lightroom clipping rendering or Photoshop CS3 clipping rendering?
    Please note that I ultimately export the final images as jpegs (8-bit) in srgb colorspace before posting on the web. These photos are ultimately ordered from an online printer (usually from Mpix).
    Thanks for any help you can give me. Best wishes.
    Bob

    Hi,
    Thanks for your responses. In answer to Jao's questions:
    Yes, I turn on the clipping warnings in Lighroom (shortcut j). I am viewing a 16-bit tiff in ProPhoto RGB (that has made the "round trip" from Lightroom to Photoshop CS3 and back again to Lightroom) in Lightroom using the clipping warnings. The clipping shown in CS3 using the adjustment, curves, show clippings are much less than what is shown using the clipping warnings of the same 16-bit tiff in Lightroom.
    My workflow is to import Canon Raw (using sRGB, rather than Adobe RGB) into Lightroom. Make color, sharpening, tone, ect. adjustments in Lightroom, then export to Photoshop CS3 as a 16-bit tiff in ProPhoto RGB colorspace. I make additional adjustments to color, tone, skin tones, noise, touchup, sharpening, ect. and then save the file. It reappears again in Lightroom. When I have the clipping warnings on (shortcut j), this tiff appears to have considerably more clipping than on a curves layer showing clipping in Photoshop. Ultimately, I then export these same photos as jpeg (8-bit)in srgb and post to the web where they can be ordered from an online printing service such as Mpix.
    Thanks for any help you can give me.

  • How do I re-activate Photoshop CS3

    Today, May 21st, 2014, I received a prompt upon launching my Photoshop CS3 that made me a little wary.  I, so says the message, only have 5 days to re-activate my Photoshop before it kicks me off completely even though I have the serial ID, it has been PAID FOR. I put MONEY into this and time and effort. So, in 5 days, I won't be able to access my PS CS3.
    Here is a screenshot of it: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p83/black_pearl_photos/PS1_zpse935f0ac.png
    It says, in short, "After 5 days you will be unable to use the product if activation has not been successfully restored." And continues, "This product's activation is broken or invalid."
    On February, 24, 2014, I activated this software onto my computer (Windows 8) and it has worked flawlessly thus far. Why is it asking me to re-activate?
    So, I click "re-activate" like a good girl.
    Screenshot: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p83/black_pearl_photos/PS2_zpse6b25bff.png
    It perpetually loads for a good 10-15 minutes each time only to time out and give me a "no connection" error.
    Screenshot: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p83/black_pearl_photos/PS3_zps7a92ada6.png
    I am connected to very nice and stable internet and I never have an issue with it, so it can't be my internet.
    I went to customer service and spoke with some "Helper" who's name started with "Muc-" and I can't recall the rest. They gave me 3 simple steps.
    Step 1- Disconnect from the Internet (so when you launch PS, it will not connect)
    Step 2- Open Photoshop.
    Step 3- Click "never register"
    The only issue with this, when I tried it, is as you can see from the screenshot, there is no "never register" option and it just doesn't quite fit the description of my problem.So, after fiddling around with a few options, I went back to Customer Service and spoke with "Sanjay". He told me that Windows 8.1 does not work with CS3 even though, for me, for the last 3 months, it has been working flawlessly until this really wonky "re-activation" request.  He immediately pushed the Forums for user-based help, and wouldn't talk to me about anything. Kept shoving the Forums down my throat. And also told me to spend money by upgrading to creative-cloud. I'm not made of money here. There's a reason I am trying to stick with my CS3 because, I already paid for it. it's been paid for. I don't need to worry about subscription fees or extra bills. I have enough on my plate. So, finally, fed up, I go to the user base and just search for similar issues. I see users with similar issues, but no responses to help mediate the issue.  So, I go BACK to customer service.
    I am connected to "Rachana" and this "helper" starts off with the same, Serial ID, basic questions, so on and so forth. And then promptly tells me that The Customer Service System no longer supports CS3 customer service. If CS3 is still downloadable, somewhere on the Adobe.com website, should the support that goes along with it still continue considering people still use it? And pushed me BACK to the forums. So. There is my issue, my frustration, and all that good stuff.
    How. Can. I. Fix. This.

    The CS2 activation servers are off-line permanently. See the page below:

    Follow the instructions carefuly to download the new software file(s) from that page. Use the activation code from that page, not your old key, to activate the software.

  • Photoshop CS3 will not open in Windows 7 after functioning perfectly?

    I have just installed Windows 7, 32-bit version within the last month. I reinstalled all my programs, including InDesign and Photoshop CS3. InDesign is working well. Photoshop CS3 worked fine until last week. Overnight Photoshop would not open! I have tried everything I can think of--deleting Preferences (it took me three days to find where it was, and the control-alt-shift doesn't work), and deleted a new program for viewing videos which was the only new program I had installed (just in case), then "repaired" the Photoshop using the original disk.
    Finally was able to get into Photoshop BUT: Everything is screwy--colors are off, PS tells me I have only 1600 MB of RAM, when I know I have 2 Gigs installed, it looks really strange--everything is grayed out in a checkerboard pattern.
    This is my third post on this issue--CAN ANYONE HELP ME??  I have been without my Photoshop for over a week, and desperately need to get it back. I am just now getting back on track, trying to get my website back, etal. after almost a year out of commission due to a broken back and crashed computer. Now I have my computer back and can't use PHOTOSHOP!  HELP!
    In addition, my computer suddenly says "We have had to revert to the basic Windows color scheme because there is one program that needs it (???), and then my desktop is all screwed up. I can't get my color management back--have to turn computer off and on again and then it's all right. This always happens after trying to enter Photoshop.
    Please email me a response because this is getting very annoying, and debilitating. ([email protected])

    Last week I spent 8 hours online with Sony trying to get Photoshop to work. They downloaded a new video card, and driver--nothing has seemed to work. After that I completely deleted Photoshop and re-installed it from scratch. It still does not work--colors are missing, RAM is incorrect--says I have 1678 MB RAM, when there are 2 gigs on the system. It's totally unusable. Since I am seriously thinking of upgrading  to PS CS5, both InDesign and Photoshop, I am very nervous about whether that will work in Windows 7, especially after reading all the problems on this forum.
    I read the other questions about CS3 and MAYBE it is a Windows Update. That is the only new thing I can think of to have caused this. Windows Restore is not feasible as I have been working on this problem for over three weeks, and can't go back that far.
    My question is, is it feasible/safe to delete the LAST update where this happened? That's the only thing that hasn't been done.
