It seems when i do something simple as typing text, it'll stop working and give me a "Adobe Photoshop suddenly stop working". My CS4 32bit version seems to working fine with whatever i'm working on. I'm running a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit Ultimate on a new computer Intel quad core with 4gig of ram if that helps. Sorry if this have been asked before but i couldn't find anything on these forums. Thanks in advance.

i deleted the prefs file and now i can open photoshop. but it seems as if it crashes if i open ANY file with ANY text, no matter what the font is.

What error message are you getting? If none then in Lightroom Preferences> General> check "reset all warning dialogs"
Try again and see what message pops up.

  • Photoshop CS4 Image Processor Stopped Working

My workflow consists of tagging photos in Bridge then using Photoshop actions via the Image Processor from the Bridge tools>photoshop menu.  All the sudden it stopped working, the image processor box doesn't pop up anymore.  When choosing a folder manually through Photoshop, it says Sorry I Can't Complete The File...... (like it always says when it's successful) but nothing processes.  I have reset all the factory settings.
    OSX 10.5.8 w/ Adobe Suite CS4
I need to get this project finished today rather than wasting my whole weekend doing manual actions on nearly 2000 photos for the next week straight.  This process has been successful for the past 3 years.
Thanks so much in advance for your time.

That must have been an ungodly degree of nesting.
The Image Processor is actually a plug-in script, written by Russell Brown.  If you like it, you should try Dr. Brown's Services 2.0.2 (for CS4; for CS5 there's a later beta version available) by the same author and also free.  It's like the Image Processor on steroids.  I haven't used the latter for years, since installing Dr. Brown's Services.

  • Why is Photoshop 6 always 'suddenly stopped working'?

When ever I'm using photoshop 6, It stops working at random times and I lose some of my work.
Its beginning to become very annoying but I don't see how this is happening to begin with.
I've started noticing its always after I use the Blur tool on large pictures for longer than a few seconds.
Lucky that photoshop recovers my work back to before the blue/photoshop stopping thing.
I study graphic design and its a real pain to have this keep happening, especially when I tend to use the blur tool quite a bit with my works.
    Other students I know have also been havign this issue with photoshop as well as illustrator. ; n ;
How can I make this stop happening? Or is this something Adobe need to fix?

Nobody can tell anything about the matter without some real system info. If it happens after using blurs and large images, you are simply running out of memory - either system RAM or your graphics card. Well, anyway, nobody can tell. Provide the crasj info and system specs:

You haven't applied any of the Photoshop updates.  No one should be running that old, obsolete buggy version of Photoshop.

I'm merely pointing this out so that those more conversant with Windows (one of which I am definitely not) can explain how that faulting module path can lead to the SYSTEM32 directory when the 64-bit Ps binary is running.  Being a Mac user myself, I have no insight into this, a similar occurrence of which I pointed out in another recent thread with the same flag without being able to explain it.

  • Photoshop 7.0 suddenly stopped working.

When I started PS 7 today, none of the tools would work (drop down menu stuff works, but no tools) All I get is a hand. I can't draw, erase, fill, clone, select, outline, etc. Just a hand.  I uninstalled it including the preference file and reinstalled it, but still get the exact same non fuctionally. Any ideas?
It could have something to do with downloading a sample Adobe Premiere program whose triat ended yesterday.

Tried reinstall and also tried deleteing preferrence files and all photoshop file and tried reinstall.
But then on the 4th try, it wasn't working, all of sudden it goes to the internet does and update and works fine.
I'm sure its something they did, but god knows they would never admit it.

I receive Adobe updates on a regular basis without any problems. The other day, my Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 (Editor) function has suddenly stopped working. Windows cannot seem to solve the problem. I can open all the other function buttons without any problems just not the most important one which is the Editor Function. Has anyone experienced this situation and knows what to do?

Did you tried uninstalling and then installing it again?

My Photoshop CC and also my CS6 has suddenly stopped working. I'm using Windows 7 - 64 bit. I need help, does anyone know what to do?

We can't know. You have not told us what exactly the problem is. If there are any warnings, you need to provide them along with other info like the crash logs. If not you have to explain the situation in more detail. Just saying that it doesn't work anymore is not particularly useful.

  • Acrobat x Pro 10.1.3 suddenly stopped working

Today Acrobat suddenly stopped working insofar as it just would not start. Looking in the task manager shows it starts then stops.
    This is on a Win 7 x64.

Found this by an Adobe Staff Member if this other post http://forums.adobe.com/message/4507225#4507225 and it seems to work.

For all the users who have faced a problem where Acrobat did not launch after 30 days of serializing with a suite serial number, please execute the following workaround:
Make sure you are connected to the internet.
Launch a regular  CS6 product other than Acrobat or Flash Builder (for example: Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro, InDesign, Flash Professional, Illustrator, Dreamweaver.)
    Click on Help->Deactivate .
    Deactivate the application. Quit application.
Launch a regular  CS6 product other than Acrobat or Flash Builder (for example: Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro, InDesign, Flash Professional, Illustrator, Dreamweaver.)
    Accept Eula.
Register trial by signing in. Let the app launch.
Quit and relaunch the app. Wait for UI to come.
Click on License This Software button on the UI.
    Click on Sign in .
    Serial number screen will come
Enter the serial number in the serial number screen and click Next.
Quit app and relaunch the app while connected on the internet .
After this if you launch Acrobat it will launch and run forever without trouble. In case you still face a problem , try relaunching the other CS6 app once more and then launch Acrobat.
Feel free to send me a private message if you need any more help with this.

  • Photoshop CS4 32 bit settings work for 64 bit version?

Anyone know if Photoshop CS4 32 bit settings work for 64 bit version?  I just installed Windows 7 x64 and I want to use my backup Photoshop CS4 settings from the 32 bit version.  Will there be any problems?
Also, it seems that since I'm on 64 bit Windows 7, the installer forces me to install the 64 bit version of Photoshop CS4, although the 32 bit version is optional.  Are the 32 bit settings stored in a different location from the 64 bit version?  Or will both version use the same settings from the same place?

I think you are misunderstanding me. The sharing happens via the user home directory (C:\Users\[You]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe ...). 64bit specific settings will be denoted with an X64 in their file name, 32bit settings will be without any extra tags. Beyond that, the programs do not access each other's program directory, which shouldn't be required in the first place, as the default templates are the same for both to begin with. You can of course also copy your brushes and presets to the program directories, but then you will have to worry twice about keeping them in sync.

  • Error message - photoshop elements editor has stopped working

Hi - I've installed photoshop elements 8 twice, and I still get the error message "photoshop elements editor has stopped working" .  I can't seem to get beyond this point.  My system is Windows Vista.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks

I suddenly started getting the same error message and was reaching my wits end in trying to find a solution.
This may sound bizarre, and you may not have the same situation as I found, but check your system/Windows date setting.
Somehow, the year on my system had become 2096. I corrected it, and bingo! PSE 8 Editor works again.
