Photoshop CS6 and the iMac

Hello,
I use Photoshop CS6 on a 2009 MacBook Pro and it runs great. I have 8GB of RAM
I am going to be purchasing a 27" iMac soon, but i have heard there are a lot of problems with Photoshop and Mavericks working together.
I am a computer novice so i am wondering if i should wait to get the iMac or if with a new machine and a new version of Photoshop CS6 i will be able to use Photoshop CS6 on the new iMac without any issues.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Photoshop CS6 is compatible with OS X Mavericks, but it is true that there are issues. See > https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5475799
As you can see, there are tricks that have worked for some users, so it is up to you to wait or to get the iMac now. Adobe may release Photoshop CS6 updates in the future to make it work better in Mavericks

Canon 1DX support was added to ACR in version 6.7, 7.1. An updated CS6 should be at level ACR 8.6. If your ACR is not at level 8.6 try using CS6 menu Help>Updates. If that does not install ACR 8.6 try downloading the ACR and DNG 8.6 converter and see if ACR 8.6 will install into your CS6.

When I try to open an image by double clicking on it in Bridge, I get a message telling me to log in to Creative Cloud. I am running CS6, and the default should be to open files in Photoshop 6 or in Adobe Raw (if it's a Raw file). I don't want to log in

I don't want to log into CC since I am not a subscriber, and this means that I have to work around, and go back to Bridge, and tell it to open the file in Adobe RAW. However, this does not work for older psd files which for some reason cannot be opened in RAW. How do I return to the process of simply allowing RAW files to open automatically in Adobe RAW, and simply right clicking on the image in Bridge to bring up the option of opening it in Photoshop?

A screenshot of your Photoshop work area showing the open file you want to save as, the Layers panel open, and the Save as... dialog open might give us a clue as to what is going on.
To take a screenshot and save it as a file
For Windows 7, Printscreen, open a New File in Photoshop, Ctrl v to paste, then save as jpeg (the other trick was for windows 8)
Use the Camera icon on your reply to upload it.
Also File > Save for Web is a good workaround if you just need a jpeg, png, or gif.

The CC Cleaner Tool assumes the Akamai Download Manager is activated and it has not. It seems to be the missing file that triggers the error message. \in a previous re-install I was prompted to download & install the Akamai Download Manger, but not this time. Using Photoshop CS6 and after printing approx. 10 cards on an Epson R3000 printer the program gives me a dialog box saying "There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents." Even after closing and reopening the program, the print command is greyed out so I cannot select any printer. This also happens with a Brother laser printer. Both printers will produce a test page out side of the Adobe product. Help!

I cannot get any help either. I get the message "There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents." I have reinstalled all drivers, powered off/on all printers (2 of them - a Brother HL - 4040cn and an Epson Stylus Pro 7890 - which all worked fine until this morning). There appears to be no path to a solution. I have read all the forums and tried about 20 different suggestions all to no avail. Reboots, changing cables, reinstalling printers and drivers and Photoshop CS6 - ALL TO NO AVAIL. On a macbook pro retina with 10.10.3. This issue is out there and some get solutions - but not all - that's my crowd...the not all crowd. I have yet to be able to print from CS6 any more. This is a show stopper and my patience is wearing thin. And I'm tired of stupid questions like "is your printer powered on?" give me a break. This appears to be an adobe photoshop cs6 problem - as I can print from every other application. Anyone have any ideas? Adobe should have something?... Adobe system info below:

Yes, to get a serial number requires that you purchase the software. Downloads are almost always free but to have continuous use of a product requires buying a license for it.

Hi LarryMeikle
The biggest difference between Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CC is that Photoshop CC is subscription-based--you have to subscribe to Adobe's Creative Cloud service to use it. Also, Photoshop CC includes new features that were not in Photoshop CS6.
